7962 VOIP Phone Dies After switch upgrade/reboot

Recently I upgraded several access swicthes (2960, 3650's) which have POE and Cisco 7962 phones connected.  After the upgarde and subsequent reboot, the IP phones failed to power up and are effectively dead.
All that happen on the phone now is that when the POE cable is connected, the phones mute button LED light flashes before the spekaer LED lights up and remains lite up.
Approx 5 phones across multiple switches have died this way.
Can anyone tell me if this is a behaviour they have experience and how they may have recovered from it.

I am searching for a power adapter now.
Yes - appears to be only 7962
The Watts are displaying as 7.0 as opposed to the normal 6.3 and the Device ID is showing IEEE PD

  • SP-3102 - Unable to make VOIP phone calls after switching router

    I had to change the router from Netgear (g) to Belkin N+ (n). Changed the SPA-3102 config to DHCP, it picked up an IP and showed the 1st 3 LEDs lit, status Registered. So, good news.
    I am able to receive VOIP phone calls, but not able to make phone calls, it won't dial. I installed slogsrv.exe and got the following log: syslog.514.log. Unfortunately, it's chinese to me.

    Try checking any settings on the old router which you might need to configure also on the new router to get VoIP working like port forwarding, dmz or disabling the NAT. The Belkin might have a feature like NAT which behaves differently so you might need to open up VoIP ports or enable NAT mapping and NAT Keep Alive on the SPA.

  • Phone frozen after itunes upgrade

    Ran the itunes upgrade today. My phone was connected to the computer at the time. Got a text message during the intall and called a friend. Phone has been frozen ever since. Tried to do a restore but cannot. Get an error saying the phone is in "recovery mode". When I run the restore get an "unknown error" message. The only thing that is visible on my screen is the itune logo and the usb cable, suggesting I should connect the phone to itunes. Followed all the suggestion to restore on two computers and no dice! What up Apple?!

    if you have taken back up of the iphone before you attempted software update, then yuor photoes are already in itunes as back up. After getting it jailbroken, i synced my phone with itunes and got all the data, including games, data, emails and everything from itunes.
    So iOS 6 has issues with software, rather i feel apple has done it with an intention so that people can replace the same handset for USD 200.
    hi Apple team, please dont penalise customer for bugs in your software. There are millions you trust you as company of repute, I am unfortuanetly happy after jailbreaking iphone 3GS.

  • I phone discharges after sofwear upgrade

    I have read about others having this problem but no Apple fix. My phone with heavy use phone, email, texts etc always lasted over a full day on a charge and mort than a few days over weekends with little business activity
    Just upgraded phone soft wear two days ago and charge lasts about an hour to hour and one half and phone has turned int a hand warmer as it gets hot
    Not only has apple rendered the phone useless as it is no longer a portable device ( needs to be plugged in)  but I am concerned that even if this gets resolved soon that apple has reduced the useful life of the device by causing the battery to overheat
    Is there a way to Get rid of the new soft wear?  Revert to old version?.

  • Phone slow after ios7 upgrade

    There is a drag between me inputting to my phone ie the pin, messages.  I've not tried typing an email yet.  This is on an iphone 4, i upgaded an iphone 4S with none of this problem.  I have done a restart but the problem still exists.  Any help gratefully received.

    Did you restore or update to iOS 7.0.2? If you upgraded try restoring your phone as new in iTunes, you can backup contacts, photos and other personal data via iCloud and your apps via iTunes.

  • Wism interfaces gone after switch-upgrade

    I've a 6509 with a sup720 (ordinary, not a 10GE) and a wism blade in slot 3.
    It worked fine until i did a upgrade of the IOS on the 6509.  I went from s72033-ipservicesk9_wan-mz.122-18.SXF13 to s72033-advipservicesk9_wan-mz.122-33.SXI3.
    Now i cannot reach my Wism-blade any more. When i look in the running config on the switch there are no gigabit-interfaces on module 3, in the config there is even no mention of a module 3.
    However when i do a "show module" the wism is reported with a status "ok".  Also when i do a "show wism module 3 controller 1 status" it tells me that its "Oper-up" and all the adresses are in place, even the service IP-adres (which i do not understand because it can only get this adres by DHCP from the switch).
    The Wism is running 6.0.188.0.
    Anyone ever seen such behavior?

    Elie, the service-vlan was (and is) indeed different, so that was not the problem.  I got a good clue in the posting of dampcampb: he wrote that there was a difference in behavior between the SXI- and the SXF-versions of the IOS.  I checked and there was also a SXF-version with the features i wanted.  I used that version of the IOS and all was working fine again. Thx however for the reply.

  • I have a 3GS I have just updated the iOS from IOS 4.?.? to iOS 6.?.? I realise this should have been done ages ago. My phone works after the upgrade, but none of my Apps, Photos from designated folder or Music will sync.

    When I do connect the phone. iTunes says back up was interupted and to click to resume, it just then hangs on time remaining without a number? If I dissconnect during this I get Error (-10) I can then access my phone in iTunes and my phone does work? In iTunes I can see all the things that were on my phone, all the Apps/Music/Phots/Other etc.. with their relevant amount (Music 8.2gb/Apps 2.1gb etc...) in the coloured bar along the bottom, so if I then click Apply you would think it would just copy them to the phone. It doesn't as soon as you click Apply  the multi coloured bar and catagories changes just to 'Other' and (1004mb) and only the basics are on my phone. No music, no additional Apps and only Camera Roll, not photos from chosen folder.
    Any suggestions would be great.

  • SPA504G phone change in phone behavior after firmware upgrade

         I have a SPA504G phone that was set up with a speed dial to 800 which initiates the page all feature of the phone.  On the previous firmware I ran (7.4.8) That light was in a solid green state.  I have recently upbraded to firmware 7.5.2b and now that key is blinking orange.  The key still functions as intended and the paging works but I need to know how to get this light to show up as green again.  Does anyone have any suggestions.  Below is the XML line that Im using for that line.

    Extended_Function are big mystery for me. Despite documentation. Especially interaction's of sub= and ext= in combined functions (like blf+sd). And the behavior is changing between firmwares (no change in documentation, no notice in changelog), so my confusion seems not to be caused by my misunderstanding of documentation.
    Try one of:
    fnc=sd;sub=[email protected];ext=[email protected]
    fnc=sd;ext=[email protected]
    fnc=blf+sd;sub=[email protected];ext=[email protected]
    It may or may not help. Note, the last one will monitor the state of 800 as well (if supported by PBX).

  • Iphone 4s.  Phone dies with black screen intermittently. In spite of reboot attempts it wont come back for 10-15 minutes later with reboot.  About three times in the last two weeks since IOS6 upgrade.  One time the phone felt pretty warm.

    Iphone 4s. My phone dies with Black Screen  intermittently.  It will stay dead in spite of hard reboot requests for 10-15 minutes. Then it will come back. The battery is plenty charged.  This has happened about 3 times since upgrade to IOS6.

    You're in luck! Your phone is still covered by the one year Apple warrenty. I would visit your local Apple retail store, or contact Apple over the phone. They should be able to help you out best!

  • Random reboots during phone calls after upgrading to OS4

    My 3GS is rebooting without warning in the middle of calls after the upgrade - never did this before. This has happened at least five times today without any pattern: one 50-minute call was fine but other shorter ones have been cut off without warning. Battery is fine. It's been doing this ever since I upgraded last week.
    Also I have noticed the whole phone has slowed down dramatically, presumably due to multitasking loading up the CPU?

  • After ICS upgrade Phone is very slow to make a call

    After ICS upgrade , when I select a contact to call , and then press cell or home , the response time is very slow.
    I have pressed the call button more than once thinking it did not take. Then when it does take I end up calling the person
    more than once because it has buffered the calls . What can be causing this ?

    Mine and my wifes thunderbolts have become horrible since the upgrade was pushed.  Apps are slow, or don't even load some times.  Trying to make a phone call is sluggish and at times it will try to call twice at the same time for some reason.
    however, i overlooked all of this because i liked the look of ICS.  then last week after being pushed two updates in a row, it now will just turn off at random times.  i can't even go to a webpage anymore because it will immediately crash.  better yet, when i try to reboot the phone, it will get to the point where it recognizes the verizon network, and then just shut off again.  this happened to me 8 times in a row the other day.  it will also say that the battery is in the red, even though it had a full charge before the crash.
    i have found that if i plug my phone in and then boot it up, it will boot up correctly.  that is the only way i have been able to get it to actually boot up since all of this started happening.  it will still show the battery is about to die, and then about 15 minutes later it will show it is at 100% again.
    i tried to do the chat with a reprensentative today and the guy was asking for my account password before he could look into my issue.  what kind of company asks for a password.  that is the dumbest thing i have seen.  so now, i have a phone that "sometimes" works, and online chat that reminds me of a scamming site. 
    when my wife called to talk to someone they told her that it was htc's fault and that it would cost us $60 each to switch to new phones.  how is that customer service?  besides, verizon's network sent the update.  there is no way that they can try to say it wasn't their fault.  that isn't how the real world works.
    i have reposted this from another thread, but since there seems to be someone from VZW reading this, perhaps some info can be found...

    My iPhone 5 wont work properly after i upgraded to ios8 all i can see on the screen is apple logo that made it looks like its starting but it wont start up since yesterday please I need help. It's all started after I upgraded to ios8 and after that I noticed that I couldn't send picture messaging to android then I also knew the message settings on my phone that has mms option is not on my phone anymore then I called apple to help me then the lady told me that my ios8 didn't probably install correctly that I should restart my network settings, I did that but it still wont work so I called again the other apple rep told me to reset all settings that everything will come back to normal and immediately I press the reset button my phone went off and turned on after booting for a while but it wont take me to home page but blank with apple logo on it since yesterdays afternoon, I'm really frustrated and ****** ...please kindly help me thanks.

    My wifes has started to do the same, the iphone 3Gs was mine, I updated it to ios 5.0.1 while still using it and it was fine. I did a backup restore of her old 3G phone and again it was find for awhile.
    We noticed she doesnt have any data part of her package so we have switched off the data, since then we have this issue.
    I had to install a new docking part of the phone as her mic was faulty, I did the sim out, switch on 3G and data and then sim back in. Switched the phone off and then back on. all good.
    I stripped the phone down adn replaced the part. again all good. That I night my wife said Shall she turn the phone off in which I replied it should be fine. When she turned the phone on in the morning, the reboot problem was back.
    I'm wondering if the problem is to do with the Data on and off. I've also noticed that when the phone is up beofre it reboots, you can pop out the sim and the signal stays the same.
    When it does have a problem, she now does a quick reset from the phone which takes about 5 minutes and shes back up and running. its big pain!
    Think I will get her on a data package and then try again

    May i know that do anyone here experience the same issue as me as i unable to connect to my home wifi after i upgrade to IOS 6.1.3 on my I Phone 4. I have try reset and reboot my router and even reset my phone network setting but to no availability that the problem is fixed.

  • Won't reboot after app upgrade

    I upgraded the NFL app for my Blackberry Curve and it had me reboot. When I did that, it got to the start screen with the meter on the bottom, which fills up, but it doesn't go any further. 
    I've done the battery pull and left it out, restarted using alt-right shift-del numerous times, but it always gets stuck at the same place. I have a new computer and loaded the blackberry desktop, but it cannot recognize my phone because it does not fully boot.
    Can anyone help me get past this?

    I just read somewhere that older (2006?) iMacs can take 4GB and will show that in About this Mac, but only use 3GB.
