7th Gen iPod Classic was unplugged during sync, now it pops up in Windows Explorer, but not iTunes. How can I fix this?

Okay.
I have a Windows 7 x32 OS, and an 80gb Silver 7th Gen iPod Classic.
So, I bought an iPod used off of eBay and I recently decided that 80gb was a bit too much, so I was going to resell it on eBay and buy a smaller iPod.
While I was restoring it to set it back to factory settings, my computer shut off due to a power problem.
Now when I plug it in, I get a message from windows saying "You need to format the disk in drive :M before you can use it. Do you want to format it?"
It shows up in windows explorer as a Removable Disk, and it isn't being detected by iTunes. I plug it in the iPod says "Connected. Eject before disconnecting." with a symbol that it makes when it is syncing.
I've tried putting it in disk mode, and it still will not detect it.
Can somebody help me? I really don't want to be stuck with a broken iPod.

Thanks, I appreciate the help. I think this is one of the problems Apple is creating by changing the OS so often. I had fomer colleagues at [a major aerospace contractor] who told me that so many original files were ultimately lost because of the deadly change in the "Save As" operation that they are now afraid of every OS update. Apple has badly damaged their support base with that very prominent company (they won't update now until they've fully examined and understand changes in the pre-conditioned nature of OS computer functions), and they are a whole lot less enthaled with Mac-related equipment/software. Can't blame them, I too used orginal files that way (as easy-to-use templates), and lost some important files before I realized what was happening (to late to revert). Companies should not have to retrain employees each time an OS gets an update, it's can be very expensive several different ways. They learned a painful lesson with that one. And because I'm now retired and don't use multiple devices, I need iCloud like I need a hole in the head... but I'm told there's no way to keep Apple out of my computer. Fortunately, because of major problems when initially installing Mountain Lion, one hold-over of the hardware/software damage I experienced was that iCloud can no longer access my computer even though everything else is working fine again. That was the only "good luck" I had as a result of that expensive nightmare.

My ipod will not respond to anything. I tried to restore but unable to how can I fix this?

Itunes suggeested that my Ipod was coruppted and to restore I tried this and it uploaded software and tried to restore but an error message came back (I did not save the error message). 3. Go to Tab “Erase” , choose Volume Format as “MAC OS Extended (Journaled), and click Erase, again if fails, skip it and go to 4
4. Same as step 3, but open the “Security Options....” and choose “Zero Out Data” before click Erase. It will take 1 to 2 hours to complete.
5. Eject your iPod and do a Reset
6. Open the iTunes 7 and click “Restore”
For Window computer
Go to folder “My Computer”
Hope you can see your iPod there and right click on the iPod
Choose “Format”. Ensure the settings are at “Default” and that “Quick Format” is not checked
Now select “Format”
Eject your iPod and do a Reset
Open the iTunes 7 and click “Restore”
In case you do not manage to do a “Format” on a window computer, try to use some 3rd party disk utility software, e.g.“HP USB Disk Storage Format Tool”.

C. Windows users having trouble with their iPods should locate a Mac user. In many cases when an iPod won't show up on a PC that it will show up on the Mac. Then it can be restored. When the PC user returns to his computer the iPod will be recognized by the PC, reformatted for the PC, and usable again. By the way, it works in reverse too. A Mac user often can get his iPod back by connecting it to a PC and restoring it.
Tips
a. It does not matter whether the format is completed or not, the key is to erase (or partly) the corrupted firmware files on the Hard Drive of the iPod. After that, when the iPod re-connected with a computer, it will be recognized as an fresh external hard drive, it will show up on the iTunes 7.
b. It is not a difficult issue for a Mac user to find a window base computer, for a PC user, if they can’t find any Mac user, they can go to a nearest Apple Shop for a favor.
c. You may need to switch around the PC and Mac, try to do several attempts between “Format” and “Restore”

Advance Level
A. Diagnostic mode solution
If you have tried trouble shooting your iPod to no avail after all the steps above, chances are your iPod has a hardware problem. The iPod's built-in Diagnostic Mode is a quick and easy way to determine if you have a "bad" iPod.
You need to restart your iPod before putting it into Diagnostic Mode. Check that your hold switch is off by sliding the switch away from the headphone jack. Toggle it on and off to be safe.
Press and hold the following combination of buttons simultaneously for approximately 10 seconds to reset the iPod.
iPod 1G to 3G: "Menu" and "Play/Pause"
iPod 4G+ (includes Photo, Nano, Video, and Mini): "Menu" and "Select"
The Apple logo will appear and you should feel the hard drive spinning up. Press and hold the following sequence of buttons:
iPod 1G to 3G: "REW", "FFW" and "Select"
iPod 4G+ (includes Photo, Nano, Video, and Mini): "Back" and "Select"
You will hear an audible chirp sound (3G models and higher) and the Apple logo should appear backwards. You are now in Diagnostic Mode. Navigate the list of tests using "REW" and "FFW". Try to do the 5in1, HDD R/W and HDD scan tests. Some successful cases have been reported after the running the few tests under the Diagnostic mode. In case it does not work in your case, and the scan tests reports show some errors then it proves your iPod has a hardware problem and it needs a repairing service.
B. Format your iPod with a start disk
I have not tried this solution myself, I heard that there were few successful cases that the users managed to get their iPod (you must put your iPod in disk mode before connecting with a computer) mounted by the computer, which was booted by a system startup disk. For Mac, you can use the Disk Utility (on the Tiger OS system disk), for PC user, you can use the window OS system disk. Try to find a way to reformat your iPod, again it does not matter which format (FAT32, NTFS or HFS+) you choose, the key is to erase the corrupted system files on the iPod. Then eject your iPod and do a Reset to switch out from Disk Mode. Reboot your computer at the normal way, connect your iPod back with it, open the iPod updater, and hopefully your iPod will appear there for the Restore.
If none of these steps address the issue, your iPod may need to be repaired.

In Hong Kong there are some electronic shops offering an iPod service for Sad iPod, the first thing they do is to open up the iPod’s case and disconnecting the battery and the Hard Drive from the main board of the iPod. Wait for 5-10 minutes and reconnecting them back. The reason behind which I can think of is to do a fully reset of a processor of the iPod. Have I tried these myself? No, I am afraid to do it myself as I am squeamish about tinkering inside electronic devices, I have few experiences that either I broke the parts (which are normally tiny or fragile) or failed to put the parts back to the main case. I have been unable to sync my phone with itunes - how can I fix this?

When I link into itunes, I am told that my phone is not registered. I have had my phone for less than 6 months. I have honestly spent countless hours trying to fix this, I FINALLY got it to show in My Computer, driver is updated, I have re-installed iTunes numerous times, recently did a FRESH Windows 7 Ultimate re-install, i can't restore the iPod (because it has been restored, and I can't even access it via iTunes) My iPod is NOT broken, it works on my laptop fine, it shows up on iTunes and My Computer, no problem. However, I need to use my iPod on my main computer for songs (iPod's practically new by the way) Like my question states, my iTunes freezes up, and it's very strange because it freezes, then a couple minutes later iTunes works fine, BUT my iPod doesn't show up on the side like it's supposed to. I've done everything, I hope I get some good support, thanks in advance!

If the above step did not work, try connecting iPod to a power adapter and plug the power adapter into an electrical outlet, or connect iPod to your computer. Make sure the computer is turned on and isn't set to go to sleep. Try resetting the iPod while it is connected to power.

My iphone 4 will only sync certain songs and album from my itunes, how can I fix this?

I have an iphone 4, and when I go to drag stuff to sync it to the phone it will only sync certain albums or songs, and not others. i had the same problem and just figured it out.
plug in your iPhone and click on your phone under Devices in iTunes.
then, at the top, where it says "Summary, Info, Apps, Music, Movies, TV Shows, Photos" click Music
make sure the "Sync Music" box is checked along with "Entire music libary" and apply the changes.
mine wasnt checked and it only had 37 songs in my phone out of 927 that were on my iTunes.

My ipod nano 7th gen. won't save the changes I make to a song's start and stop time. How do I fix this?

So I have a few songs that I don't like the intro to or the end of it that I had cut to where I wanted on my previous ipod. When I try to do the ame thing with this one with the start and stop time, it will work for awhile and then randomly start and stop where it had originally. I have done it like 4 times now for some songs and I can't seem to get it to stick. Suggestions?

If you use the Sync feature in iTunes, then it needs to be done to the song in your Music Library, then synced with the iPod. If you do not use the Sync feature and are performing the changes to the song on your iPod specifically, then the setting may be getting overwritten when you drag the song that's already on the iPod back onto the iPod. It will overwrite all local settings for the song on the iPod with the settings in your library.
Try performing the changes to the song in your music library, and then dragging it back over to your ipod (or Sync your iPod if you use that feature). This will make sure that the setting are consistent in both your library and iPod in-case you were to ever overwrite the song once more.

When I add songs to my iPod, they go on there. But when I disconnect my iPod from the computer and plug it back in the songs never stay on there. How can I fix this?

Just recently I've noticed my apps wasn't working, they would just blink and then exit out. So I searched on here to find out what I should do, and I seen that someone said to restore the iPod. I did just so, but before I did I made sure I backed it up so I still had my files. But when I plugged it in there was no option of restoring from backup. Unfortunately, the iTunes Store has been unable to verify an authorization from your_financial_institution and has not received payment for order (my order number was here). As soon as this order is paid for, you'll be able to resume purchasing with your iTunes Store account.
Not being able to verify an authorization is a sign that something needs to be addressed by the issuer of the card. You will need to contact your financial institution to determine the specific cause of the card being rejected.
When contacting your financial institution, ask to speak with the fraud/security department. The representative will need to thoroughly review your account until they locate and resolve what is causing the issue. If there are holds on your account, those will need to be removed. Please note that your financial institution can also choose to bypass the authorization process.
Once your financial institution has resolved the issue, you should be able to pay for the order (my order number was here) and resume purchasing. If you are not able to resolve the authorization issue with your financial institution, I recommend trying to add a new credit card or redeeming enough store credit to pay the balance in full.
