8.0.2 patch corrupt

I'm trying to download the 8.0.2 patch for a new installation
and Windows keeps telling me it's corrupt. I've tried it from
Firefox and IE just to be sure but can't get it to install. Could
this be a problem with my XP install or has anyone else encountered
this?

> can this be the problem?
No - your download is corrupting the file.

  • Acrobat Reader patch corrupted Sharepoint Services

Since upgrading over 4000 laptops with Adobe Acrobat Reader to version 11.0.10 last week, we have had a number of users where they are unable to edit and save changes to Excel spread sheets on Sharepoint 2007.
They get a message that SharePoint services is not running and the only solution is to re-install MSOffice. This affected users with MS Office 2003 and 2010.
We had deployed Adobe Acrobat Reader, Flash Player and Shockwave updates to laptops on the Wednesday night and users started experiencing the issues on the Thursday morning.
Desktops received Flash Player and Shockwave and they have not experienced any issues so it looks to be caused by Adobe Acrobat Reader.
The process for installation was to create an administrative install with configuration created using the Customisation Wizard.
Any suggestions why Adobe Acrobat Reader would cause this.
    Thanks
    Hazel

I have downloaded and installed this utility.  It doesn't appear on the Start/Programs list although it is on the Add/Remove programs list and appears to uninstall normally.
I couldn't get it to work.  This download is from a non-Microsofy source, Seagull Scientific Inc who appear to be repuytable, but I would advise caution.
    Edit:
Ok, now I got it fixed.  I have dual screen setup and had the second screen switched off - the Start/Programs menu was overflowing to the second screen and the program was listed at the end.
I ran it and it solved my problem.  Thanks!

  • "Short read error" after patching solaris 10 x86?

We recently bought an Ultra 20 with Solaris 10. The first thing we did was attempt to patch it with smpatch. Specifically, we did the following steps:
    > smpatch update
    > shutdown -i s -g 0
    > smpatch add -x idlist=/var/sadm/disallowed_patch_list
    > reboot
When the machine rebooted we got a "short read error" message when trying to load in various drivers and wouldn't boot. We assumed that the disk had crashed and we reinstalled solaris from the DVDs. After the reinstallation, we went to patch the machine again, with the same steps, and exactly the same thing happened!
So is there something wrong with patching solaris 10 on x86? Has anybody else experienced this problem where the patching corrupts the disks (or the drivers)?
    Thanks.
    Karl

There have always been "short read error"s during boot on <b>some</b> systems with Solaris 10 x86 since the release.
    http://groups.yahoo.com/group/solarisx86/message/29310
    http://groups.yahoo.com/group/solarisx86/message/29358
Do you get the error every time during boot? Sometimes it helps to
press <RETURN> at the boot prompt, and not let the system wait for
    the five second timeout.

  • Corrupted package IBY_DISBURSE_UI_API_PUB_PKG

    Hi,
I have installed r12.0.3 on windows 2003. I had some problems in marking payments as complete, and on advice by oracle, i applied a patch from metalink. However, instead of solving the problem, the patch corrupted the above package. I am now unable to make any payments at all.
Is there anybody who will be kind enough to send me a copy of the IBY_DISBURSE_UI_API_PUB_PKG file so that I can replace the corrupted one ?
    Thanks a million.

I'm working on a desktop app that sometimes runs cpu- and memory-intensive graph manipulations. We just saw the following error. I don't like to assume that I've found a JVM bug, but of all the explanations I've thought of so far that seems to be by far the strongest.

Thanks, but I'd already found that out from the first search I did.
We have no JNI code. I am pretty certain that no library we use has any either, though if you have a 100% way to verify or enforce that, it could be helpful.
Short of parsing class files that isn't possible. A library might use a OS library so you can't just look for a shared library.
Assuming I'm right in that last paragraph, is it more likely that we found some sort of bug in Sun's native code (maybe already discovered?) or that there was a hardware failure (e.g. bad memory / CPU produces wrong bytes)?Or software on the system that is causing it. Patches in the wrong order, bad patches, corrupted, etc can cause it.

Is there a different part of hs_err_... that I could post to make answering these questions easier? The full thing didn't fit because of the character limit on this forum. An actual VM bug with a crash is only 'solvable' by creating a bug and attaching the crash file.
Posting it here is unlikely to produce a solution.
A solution is unlikely to show up soon via the bug nor the forums. If you have a sales/support contract with Sun that might lead to a solution.
If you don't have that then your only choice is to use log files to determine where the crash occured, and then try different code to see if it goes away.

  • After Patch  10.2.0.4, got "voting disk  corrupted" error.

    Dear all,
    My setting is:

After I installed Patchset 10.2.0.4 and execute $CRS_HOME/install/root102.sh, I could't start clusterware anymore. After checking ocssd.log, I found some messages like this:

  • Installation Server Corruption when applying  a Patch

I have setup a installation server with 7.10 gui.  I have twice tried to apply a patch, the first time bw350gui710_1 patch, the second time was the gui710_4 patch.  Both times my installation server was corrupted to the point where I had to delete it and rebuild it.
When I called NWSAPSETUPADMIN I got a System Invalid Cast Exception and it showed that I had no components on my installation server.

Tried a few more times and it worked.

  • Cannot install patches due to pkginfo corrupted

    Hi colleagues,
I have this error when we are trying to install patch bundle on sun480r solaris10:
Cannot find package name, arch or version in pkginfo file /var/sadm/pkg/FJSVfmd/pkginfo.
Cannot find package name, arch or version in pkginfo file /var/sadm/pkg/SUNWaudit/pkginfo.
We have opened a case to our support and advised us to reinstall OS.. Is there any other way to get this fixed?
May I asked your suggestions on this. All opinions/replies are appreciated.
    Thanks!

You might be able to get away with reinstalling the FJSVfmd and SUNWaudit packages if they are the only ones that have this error, but then you run the risk of losing the details of all the patches that have patched those packages. Those patches will need to be reinstalled and since SUNWaudit is touched by kernel patches, this is definitely not recommended, so an OS reinstall would be the safest option.
If the 'pkginfo' command returns an error when run without any arguments, then the /var/sadm/install/contents file may be corrupted, again an OS reinstall or restore from a good backup would be required here.
Alternatively, if you have an identical system, you might be able to copy over the missing files from that system, but note that this is at your own risk as it may result in an unstable and almost certainly unsupported configuration.

  • Adobe Reader 11.0.08 patch on FTP site corrupt

Just an fyi it looks like the 11.0.08 patch is corrupt on the FTP site. The file size is only 124kb and it will not apply if you download it. Link is below:
    ftp://ftp.adobe.com/pub/adobe/acrobat/win/11.x/11.0.08/misc/

    Hi Johnathon
From the information provided by you it seems you have Adobe Reader installed on your machine.
The ftp link you have shared is of Acrobat patch. The size of the patch is indeed 124KB only and we have verified that the patch downloads and installs fine from the above mentioned location.
The reason the patch is failing at your end is because you are trying to apply Acrobat patch over Reader installation. Please download and install the Reader patch from here ftp://ftp.adobe.com/pub/adobe/reader/win/11.x/11.0.08/misc/
Please note: This update requires that Adobe Reader 11.0.7 is installed on your system. To determine which version you have currently installed, choose Help > About Adobe Reader. After verifying you have the requisite version installed, download and install the patch from the link mentioned above.

You can check for problems with the sessionstore.js and sessionstore.bak files in the Firefox Profile Folder that store session data.

  • EP6 SP2 Patch 4: Default Framework for innerpage corrupt

    Hi,
we just installed Patch 4 and Hotfix 5 in a cluster environment on Unix. Everything went (almost) fine (eg. the SAPInst installer started the portal as user root which produced some error after our restart, but we could fix that).
The only "interesting" problem we had was, that the default framework for the portal (which is needed for the innerpage) was corrupt (or at least if we open this framework in the portal we can see only the narrow section of the framework -- and not the "narrow - wide" layout as it should be; the effect was, that all content of the innerpage was displayed in a very small area).
This was no real problem for us since we were already using a modified layout, but it still would be interesting to know if anybody else experienced this kind of behavior and perhaps knows a fix for that. I looked through the OSS notes, but couldn't find anything.
    Best regards,
    Holger.

Did you find a resolution for this behavior?

  • How to remove corrupt patches

Is there any procedure to remove a corrupt patch from multiple machines using SCCM 2012 ?  Like I have deployed monthly patches to many machines and would like to remove
one of the installed patches from all.
What is the procedure for the same please ?

There are no procedure for this, it will depend on the SU. You will need to re-search what command line you will need to remove it.  Then you can deploy it as either a package or application but again you will need to define the collection used for
    targeting.

  • WebI Report Corruption on BI 4.1 SP 1 Patch 7 : An internal error occured while calling 'openDocument' API WIS 30270

    Hi All,
We are facing some weird WebI report corruption issues.
Issue is specific to only one report so far. We have seen this issue usually when we save the report to enterprise or do Save as.
Report gets corrupted at both the places; local and in repository.
The report have 5 Tabs, 3 queries from same database, Cross Tab,  and approximately
15 Dimensions and around 500 Measures (From 3 Queries same universe and database)
Variables: 70 Measures and 10 Dimensions (created on report level)
Error Message while opening the report:
This error is generic. however there is no relevant SAP note for this on SMP. Even in trace I could not find much relevant details:
Please find the logs attached for WebI rich client tool.
Note: Change the extension of attached file to .zip and then extract
    Thanks
    Satish

    Hi Jen,
    Thank you for the response.
I am using WebI rich client in offline mode without connecting to CMS; still the working report crashes after making some changes while saving it. (we do refresh reports here)
Secondly, APS is already split and we have enough resources on the server, which anyways are not being used so far.
Even in logs do not see any instance for insufficient memory or crashing message.
Only connection server will come into picture when we use Rich Client all other task will be done be Rich client itself.
    Thanks,
    Satish

  • 10.1.0.4 patch set results in corrupted database

    Hello!
I have installed database 10g and applied the 10.1.0.4 patch set to it. After the successfully completed installation tasks, I have proceeded to the post-installation tasks. I have set the initialization parameters successfully and everything was fine until I issued the STARTUP UPGRADE command and got ORA-01034 and Ora-27101 errors:
    ORA-01034 ORACLE not available
ORA-27101 "Shared Memory Realm Does Not Exist"
I have tried suggestions posted here and on Metalink, but nothing worked. Since then I am just going in the circle trying different fixes. Should I recreate the Oracle service using ORADIM utility?
    Any help is greatly appreciated.
    Thanks,
    Zrinka

  • Corrupt xml during patch update

Im updating a red hat based 9i test environment from 9.2.0.4 to 9.2.0.6 and while specifying the products.xml through OUI I get the error:
".../Disk1/stage/products.xml is either a directory, or is a corrupt file. Specify a valid filename."
I grabbed the update zip file from MetaLink, put it on a network share, transfered it to an ftp site, then pulled it down in binary mode.
    How would this get corrupted?
    Thanks,
    J

Can you load the products.xml file into your browser without difficulty?
can you do the same on the system where you first downloaded it from Metalink?
Why not download it from the system where it will eventually be used?
