8.1.5.0.2 patch now OK!!

That linux_patches.tgz ( cumulative patch from 8.1.5.0.1 to 8.1.5.0.2 ) is now ok. That is, it is no longer corrupted and I was able to completely ungzip and untar the file.
I still have to see though if it fixes the "Load Indicator" problem, but the README file "seems "to indicate that it does fix it:

  • FYI - Uptime display is still broken in 10.2.0.3 - Patch Now Available

You may find that your uptime shows 1 min or some silly numbers. This bug was supposedly fixed but when I logged a tar they said that it indeed is still a problem. Fixed in 10.2.0.4. I am awaiting a backport for the corrections.

Patches are now available for 10.2.0.3. I used the deployment option within OEM to roll them out. There is also a patch to the OMS itself. They changed the display to say "Boot Time" on the host target screen.
Also, I found by looking at the patch set that the Boot Time is available in the repository (and hence can be used for reports and such).

I installed the conexant drivers for my modem and my sound stopped working. I knew this might happen. I went to www.linuxant.com/alsa-driver and downloaded a patch, and I don't know how to apply it.
Any help. This is probably simple.

Fixed. All I needed to do was re-add the volume control to the panel and unmute it.

I DID GET A MEMORY ERROR: "THE INSTRUCTION AT '0x00b4Cacc' REFERENCED MEMORY AT '0x00000014'.  THE MEMORY COULD NOT BE READ.  ANY IDEAS??
This is often an indication that some program, or Process, has either incorrectly reported its memory (RAM, or Virtual Memory - Page File) usage to the OS, or that when it exited, it said that it had released the memory address, but really did not.
The first step that I would take would be the tips in this ARTICLE for first setting up my computer, and then getting it ready for an editing session.
Good luck, and hope that that helps,

  • Solaris 10 x86 jumpstart patch problem

I'm trying to jumpstart and deploy the patch using the profile file(classfile). I does work well on the sparc however I seem to have an issue with x86. The line in profile file looks like this
    patch patch_order nfs server1:/patch/10_x86
    patch patch_order nfs server1:/patch/10_x86/10_x86_Recommended
The same directory "patch" is shared for sparc and x86 and all directory have the same permission.
Every time I jumpstart, I get this error message
    Installing patches now
ERROR: Could not mount server1:/patch/10_x86 for patch install
ERROR: Could not mount server1:/patch/10_x86/10_x86_Recommended for patch install

The problem was caused by the ipfilter behavior - ignorance of interface alias. My ipnat rule was:
    map aggr150031:1 ...
    I have changed into:
    map aggr150031 ...
and the things began to work.
    Sorry for the noise.

  • EP 6.0 SP2 Patch 27????

    Hi,
just released in the service market place: patch 27 for EP 6.0 SP2. This is getting VERY confusing. See sapnote 774779 for details. The documentation they refer to is not yet available, but I would like to hear from SAP where this sudden re-numbering comes from! Are the portal patches now somehow related to the J2EE patch level?
    Anyone?

    Naming Convention
Enterprise Portal 6.0 SP2 patches now have an improved naming convention. From this version on, portal patches are to be aligned with those of J2EE 6.20 and of Knowledge Management & Collaboration. It is, therefore, recommend that when upgrading your system to J2EE patch level XY, you also upgrade the portal to Patch XY.
    One-Time Closing of the Gap
For the upcoming release of EP 6.0, the patch is designated as Patch 27, despite the fact that the previous patch was Patch 5. This one-time step aligns the patch numbering of the portal with that of J2EE Engine. Portal will not have patches 6-26.
Alignment with J2EE in Future Releases
The availability of future portal patches will be coordinated with that of J2EE Engine. Patches are expected every 5 weeks.
    Improvement: Accumulation
From now on, portal patches will be cumulative. Each future patch will include all the fixes provided with previous patches, going back to and including portal Patch 5. In other words, the current patch (27) includes the fixes provided with Patch 5, which was released a few weeks ago. Hence: - If your installation is currently up-to-date with Patch 4, you can directly install the latest patch. - If your installation is not yet updated up to Patch 4, you must install Patch 4 first, and then you can continue to the latest patch available. Make sure that you upgrade to Patch 4 according to the instructions in the guide Installing Patch 4 for EP 6.0 SP2 since Patch 4 and its preceding patches are not cumulative.

  • Patch 10.1.2.2?

Does anyone know if you need to recompile all fmbs after applying the 10.1.2.2 patch?
Also, are all Developer Suite patches now going to be included with the App Server patches instead of as separate patches?

    Hi Paul
The patch you are looking for has the number #4960210. And yes, all patches should be included, but of course you must test it.
So far, we havent had time to thoroughly test this patch in-house - so far it is only installed on a development server - but I haven't encountered any issues yet, which are in any way related to this patch.
And yes, I can strongly recommend to have your development environment and your application server to run the same patch level. That is our experience.
    HTH,
    Jacob

  • Kernel Patching with zones

I have a T2000 installed with the Solaris 10 1/06 release with several zones created on it. 4 zones are "sparse" root, and one (zone-5) is a "whole root" zone.
In order to apply and certify (internally) the latest sendmail patch, Solaris 10 needs a later kernel patch than I had installed (this is a subject for another discussion...). So I downloaded the latest patch cluster (4/6 Recommended cluster) to apply it.
I shut down the non-global zones, and took the machine to single user mode, and installed the cluster. It seemed to go in fine, except for the following error:
    Zone zone-5
    Rejected patches:
    122856-01
Patches that passed the dependency check:
    None.
Fatal failure occurred - impossible to install any patches.
zone-5: For patch 122856-01, required patch 118822-30 does not exist.
Fatal failure occurred - impossible to install any patches. Now, 118822-30 is a kernel patch series that is prerequisite for the latest kernel patch (118833-03). Zone-5 is my only whole-root zone. I then looked at the patch cluster log, and discovered that a handful of patches (including 118822-30) had also failed:
    titan15n> grep failed /var/sadm/install_data/Solaris_10_Recommended_Patch_Cluster_log
Pkgadd failed. See /var/tmp/119254-19.log.6615 for details

Pkgadd failed. See /var/tmp/118918-14.log.27743 for detailsLooking at any of these logs (in the non-global zone-5's /var/tmp directory shows failures like the following snippet:
pkgadd: ERROR: unable to create unique temporary file </usr/platform/sun4us/include/sys/cheetahregs.h6HaG8w>: (30) Read-only file sy
    stem
pkgadd: ERROR: unable to create unique temporary file </usr/platform/sun4us/include/sys/clock.h7HaG8w>: (30) Read-only file system
pkgadd: ERROR: unable to create unique temporary file </usr/platform/sun4us/include/sys/dvma.h8HaG8w>: (30) Read-only file systemQuestion(s):
Why would there be read-only file systems where tmp files are getting written? Possibly a timing issue?
Is there a "best practice" on applying patch clusters, and specifically, the kernel patch? Did I make a mistake in taking the zones down first? It seems like the zones were being booted up as the patches were getting applied, but I may be misinterpreting the output.
Even though the patches failed to apply to zone-5, the uname -a output in the zone show the latest kernel patch, but does NOT show 118822-30 (118822-25 is what showrev -p in the non-global zone-5 shows -- which is the level I was at before attempting to patch).
    Any solutions?
    Thanks.

The kernel config and patch are irrelevant - I have tried to compile the stock arch kernel just to make sure that it WASN'T the patch - I simple copied the folder from ABS, did makepkg and installed - no lucky. The problem seems to be that all of the kernels I compile end up with the folder in /lib/modules having -dirty on the end of them. How do I stop this '-dirty'?
I notice in the build I get this message -
    ==> Building the kernel
    fatal: cannot describe '604d205b49b9a478cbda542c65bacb9e1fa4c840'

  • Is patching of CE 7.1 Ehp1 Preview version possible?

Currently I am evaluating the CE 7.1 Ehp1 Preview version. Unfortunately this version uses a Visual Composer version that is not compatible with IE8. Is it possible to patch the whole preview system to SP04? I already patched the Visual Composer parts of it (Base, Framework and Freestylekit) to SP04, but the Visual Composer still does not start because there is now a problem with the Portal Kit, which is not patched.
Patching the whole system should be a problem because some parts are only available for 64bit systems but maybe someone also tried to patch Visual Composer before? Or is it possible to patch only the CE parts without patching the database and kernel and so on?
    Any input appreciated.
    Thanks,
