8.1.6 install on RH2 : missing jre118 ???

I downloaded Oracle 8.1.6 from the technet, as I wanted to get rid of installation problems from 8.1.5.
I have been unable to even start the installer, with always the same error "unable to find java runtime, go to javasoft.com, download jre118, and try again...".
Even with this JRE installed, or even with jre116v5, jre121, jdk118, it does not start.
I have met half a dozen of persons on the net who reported me exactly the same problem.
I got answers like "your download was buggy" (with a tar.gz?)->no comment... I was told to remove any reference to $JAVA_HOME, etc., as oracle comes with its own jre. -> no change.
I am now stuck since last week, and I have still seen no screen from OUI... btw, it is the same on RH6.1
It seems some people have been able to install easily. What's wrong with the other ones?
Please help, it's already been a long time...

...I installed it without a hitch on RH 6.2...but, I defined all of my environment vars in advance of the installation including the CLASSPATH...I'd recommend defining the CLASSPATH and all other env vars according to the documentation provided with the distro...I've even had success installing it on a Slackware 7 box...

I notice that this forum mentions that Apple will correct their faulty Intel 10.4.7 update with a new release.

Looks like the new release came out June 27, 2006. You could always reapply the combo update. It won't hurt.

SCCM Reporting: Software Updates / Apllication the "Installed date" is missing or null in reports

When the “V_GS_Add_Remove_Programs” or “V_GS_Quick_Fix_Engineering” queried for installed date (the views that contains information on updates/application
installed date), the “installDate0” Column returns “Null” or is
"blank" on most of the rows.
The machine in this example is “X”
2. As you can see from the machines X's add remove Programs installed Date is given clearly.
Appreciate your help on this as its for an audit report of windows updates and applications installed date, I know that some applications do not populate this value but my argument is if its visible from Programs and Features why isn't the data being collected.

I have no idea why, but when I turned on my pc and tried to update my iphone and ipad, I got an error message telling me a file was missing. i tried to re-install the file. I also deleted itunes and tried to re-install and got the same message. HELP!

(1) Download the Windows Installer CleanUp utility installer file (msicuu2.exe) from the following Major Geeks page (use one of the links under the "DOWNLOAD LOCATIONS" thingy on the Major Geeks page):

Can't install Safari 4, missing program (?)

I'm trying to go to Safari across all the PCs and Macs in the household (two of each), but my desktop has a problem.
When I run the installer, it runs for a while and then an error dialog pops up
"There is a problem with this Windows Installer package.
A program required for this install to complete could not
be run. Contact your support personnel or package vendor."
After which it just rolls back.
There are no clues as to what the missing/non-running program could be, so I have no idea where to start.
Any ideas?

I suffered this same error. I found the culprit to be a corrupt installation of apple software update. My solution was to edit the windows registry. I searched for "applesoftwareupdate" and deleted all associated keys. Installation of safari 4 proceeded to completion. And yes i verified the folder "c:\windows\programs files\apple software update" was also installed.

Full-Installed Tiger, iPhoto missing. Should I have started from Panther?

Couldn't find in Search so here goes. For various reasons I chose to go ahead and run a full install of Tiger after my OS crashed. Everything works fine except that iPhoto and GarageBand are nowhere to be found. Should I have started with the original Panther 10.3.2 before installing Tiger? Alternately, can I simply install the missing apps from the Panther software without starting completely over?

I was working on my iPhone 4 with iOS 4.2 (the last one) for a while, when I called my phone operator to unlock the simlock. I followed the procedure, and I saved of my iPhone with iTunes, then restored it, then restored the backup with iTunes (last version). I didn't do anything special but followed the path given by iTunes on a reset / restore procedure.
After the restore procedure, some apps that I have been using for months did not get installed. According to iTunes the two reasons are:
* Missing signature,
* or Resources modified.
This also happens with newly downloaded applications after the reset.
My iPhone is not (and wasn't) jailbroken, I never used anything else than iTunes to sync, and I don't understand what happened.
How may I solve this problem, without loosing datas, apps, music or photo libraries, or need to reinstall everything from scratch app per app ?
Some additional notes:
* Any app that I download now that doesn't want to install from iTunes, can be correctly installed when downloaded directly on the iPhone. And no sync problems with iTunes.
* Even updating a working and installed app can cause the problem.
* New error with an app download from iTunes : "Unknown error 0xE800000B"

I don't know why, but soon after posting this, I found a solution to the problem. The WMI part was solved in this thread:

The relevant portion is this:
Open a CMD prompt in %windir%\system32\wbem
mofcomp dfsrprovs.mof
net stop winmgmt
net start winmgmt
net start iphlpsvc
net stop dfsr
net start dfsr
I don't know why recompiling of all mof did not solve the problem, but the solution above did. Restarting the DCs solved the communication issue. I don't know why the primary DC forgot about the WMI DFS provider or why communication failed. However, it is
working again, it seems.

CS4 SDK install- win32version.rc missing in CS4 AE SDK zip file

Hello,
Copied down the CS4 AE SDK to Windows, and everything looks fine except CCU project is missing a "win32version.rc" file. Linker errors are telling me its missing About(), DoClickRect(), and DoClick() functions.
Figured maybe I'd install CS3 and get the file, but file is not in CS3.
Does CS4 AE SDK have an install instead of just a zip file?
Did I miss a download?

Thank you for the reply, I'm surprised I didn't notice these functions myself.
The win32version.rc missing (or win32version.r or anything with win32version.* is missing) error threw me...
Maybe it's because I ported the project directly into VS 2008 instead of VS 2005.
Just not sure why there's a problem. It's not like the global static About() is external or something - LNK2019: unresolved external symbol. I thought maybe it's because the About() function was mangled and the call wasn't finding it. Intellisense sees it, the compiler compiles okay, it's just the linker.
Maybe there's a setting somewhere I have to look for?
When I compile using VS 2010 it does compile without error. Maybe it's something wrong with my VS 2008?

You could ask in the SDK forum... Have you looked through the SDK examples? The file might be there somewhere.
