8.1-beta servlets do not work?

Hello,
I'm using a web.xml file with 2 servlets in it that works fine
in WLS 6.x and 7.x. Yet, it does not work in 8.1.
If I delete the servlet and servlet-mapping elements I can
deploy my webapp (in an ear) and it deploys. Otherwise it
          will not work.
Has anyone else seen this with 8.1-beta?
          Thanks.

Are you getting any exceptions / error messages?

  • Better privecy does not work with windows vista home prem. what other program removes LSO'S AND HOW can I stop trackers?

    Question
better privacy does not work with windows vista home prem. what other program removes LSO'S AND HOW can I stop trackers? edit
    Details

As a temporary workaround, I believe this Adobe management page allows you to clear your "Flash cookies": [http://www.macromedia.com/support/documentation/en/flashplayer/help/settings_manager07.html Adobe - Flash Player : Settings Manager - Website Storage Settings panel] (hosted on macromedia.com -- Macromedia was the original developer of Flash).
Regarding the script error, if I'm reading the script correctly, it is related to accessing your Flash cookies directory. It seems the publisher's support forum is not currently available for searching, but that might be a good next step.
In the meantime, could you check whether the script has the correct location for your Flash cookies directory? If you can't access Tool > BetterPrivacy, you could check here:
    (1) In a new tab, type or paste '''about:config''' in the address bar and press Enter. Click the button promising to be careful.
    (2) In the filter box, type or paste '''bpr''' and pause while the list is filtered
    (3) There should be a bolded setting named '''extensions.bprivacy.DataDir''' which looks approximately like the following:
    C:\Users\''yourWindowsUsername''\AppData\Roaming\Macromedia
Do you have a similar value? If you paste the path used by BetterPrivacy into a Windows Explorer window, does it open? Also, click a couple levels in the folder, can you see:
    Flash Player \ #SharedObjects
If the value is wrong, right-click the wrong value and choose Reset. BetterPrivacy should update the value the next time you try to access it.
If the value is blank, you could try inserting a sensible value and see whether that helps.
    Any luck?

  • Beta games will not work at all.

When I download beta games into peazip or anotherzip file. they either throw components of the game all over my desktop or, if I put it in a new folder, just do not work. All regular games work fine using this method, just beta games will not work. I extract from zip file onto my desktop in new file, open the exe. in that file to a blank black page. Called HP, they could not help me! I am going crazy with this,as my computer is only a few months old! HELP!!! Thank you very much to anyone who knows how to fix this problem! God bless!

    Terri, welcome to the forum.
When you say beta games, I want to make certain that I understand what you mean.  Is this a developer (Beta) or games that are in the beta testing stage?  If they are beta test games, it isn't surprising that you are having problems.  Beta test games simply, in many cases, are not ready for prime time.  The best way to handle them is by checking to see if there are patches available.  It would be rare, but possibly the only way to get them to work properly.

  • Flex Builder 3 Beta 3 Debugging not working with latest Flash Player Debug

First to emphasize that never had such issues with Flex
Builder 2 Beta 2 and Flash Player 9.0.47 Debug version.
I downloaded Flex Builder 3 Beta 3 and installed it. Then
trying to debug any Flex app (old or newly created) does not work.
I don’t get any errors, but after some research I saw
it’s nagging up on trying to connect to the Flash Player
    debug version.
    1. Uninstalled old versions of Flash Player (FP).
    2. Downloaded latest debug version of FP 9 (9.0.115) and
installed it both for IE and Opera (Netscape-compatible).
    3. Installed Flex Builder 3 Beta 3.
    4. Created a simple Flex app.
    5. Ran it in debug mode.
    6. Showed a small window with title “Progress
Information” and a progress + text: Waiting for Flash Player
    to connect to debugger…
    7. Two minutes later I got the error: “Failed to
connect; session timed out. Ensure that: 1. You compiled your Flash
application with debugging on. 2. You are running the debugger
    version of Flash Player.”
Any idea what is wrong? I tried to download an older debug
version but then FB 3 Beta 3 raises the error it’s expecting
    version 9.0.115. I searched to download FB3 Beta 2 (because I
deleted it after downloading Beta 3) but unfortunately Adobe did
their best to wipe it out from their links.
    Any help is welcome.

    Hi Dimitar,
Did you close all the browsers (and applications which use
Flash Player) when you install Flex Builder 3 Beta 3 or Flash
Player? You can try manually installing it from <FB install
    location>/player/ directory. Here're some
    installation/unintallation instructions of Flash Player:

We tested also modifications of oraparam.ini
    a. Copy only the install directory from the CD to the hard
    disk ,say, e:\temp.
    b. Open oraparam.ini and make the following modifications
    (Assuming CD
    drive is f:)
    * Change the "SOURCE=" line to use the full path to the CD
    instead of a
    relative path. (i.e., SOURCE=f:\stage\products.jar)
    * Change the "JRE_LOCATION" line to use the full path to the CD
    instead of a
    relative path. (i.e.,
    JRE_LOCATION=f:\stage\Components\oracle\swd\jre\1.1.7\1

    * Change the "OUI_LOCATION" line to use the full path to the CD
    instead of a
    relative path. (i.e.,
    OUI_LOCATION=f:\stage\Components\oracle\swd\oui\1.6.0.9.0\1
    \DataFiles\Expanded
    * Change the "JRE_MEMORY_OPTIONS" line to add "-nojit" as the
    first argument.
    (i.e., JRE_MEMORY_OPTIONS=-nojit -ms16m -mx32m)

    * Other entries should remain the same
    c. Launch setup.exe from the temporary location on your hard
    drive (i.e.
e:\temp\install\ win32\setup.exe). This will use the modified
oraparam.ini and pick up the information from the CD since the
    absolute
    locations are specified.
After that modification of oraparam.ini, the HTTPServer does not
    respond at all.
So we undo changes on oraparam.ini and reinstall HTTP.
We copied SYMCJIT.DLL and jvm.dll from JDK 1.1.8_008 to
    Apache\jdk\..
Since then at least the demo IsItWorking responses, but database
connection can not be established. But jsp demo still do not?

I'm still having problems with Portal config (as part of 9iAS) on
a P4 but i have cleared the hurdle of the HTTP listener (i
    think).
I downloaded and installed the JRE that is P4 compatible from
www.sun.com (it puts it under c:\program files)
then overwrote all the files in the jre directories in the cd
staging area with the files from Sun (i.e. all symcjit.dll
locations). I also had to put a file "javai.dll" in the same
directory as the file "java.exe". This got the install all
    working.
The service will fail first time because the install creates
another set of incompatible jre files. You must again search for
symcjit and repeat the above procedure.
You must also overwrite the files in the c:\program
files\oracle\inventory\jre directories (sorry cant remember exact
    path).
    Hope this helps.

    let me know :-)

  • Servlet reloading not working with WLS 5.1 sp8

I downloaded and installed WLS 5.1's sp8 to fix the "java.net.SocketException: Connection aborted by peer: socket write error"
problem. Although that problem is fixed, I have found that, however, the servlet (automatic) reloading does not
work anymore. If I remove the sp8 from my Java system classpath and WL classpath (i.e. not using sp8), then
              the servler reloading works fine.
Does anybody experience similar problem or have I forgot to do something?
              WLS properties/env vars setting:
              - weblogic.httpd.servlet.reloadCheckSecs=0
              - WEBLOGIC_CLASSPATH=%WEBLOGIC_HOME%\lib\weblogic510sp8.jar;...
              - JAVA_CLASSPATH=%WEBLOGIC_HOME%\lib\weblogic510sp8boot.jar;...
Thanks in advance for any help.

I've experienced the same problem with both sp6 and sp8. In both cases I performed several test, including
              - varied the value of weblogic.httpd.servlet.reloadCheckSecs
              - changes to the package depth the servlet belonged to
              - changes to the string length of the package names the servlet belonged to
At best, the servlet would reload sometimes. I've moved back to sp5 and the problem has subsided.
Note: I did not try registering the servlet to see how that would effect the dynamic reloading.
              Hope this helps

  • Servlet Filter not working in Oracel9iAS(9.2.0.3)

    Hi,
May i know what cause the servlet filter not workinng in Oracle9iAS? Is there any library files missing? I have tried deploy the war file in Tomcat but is working fine but when i try to deploy in Oracle9iAS, the application seems like can't call the servlet filter.
    Please advice.
    Thanks.
    Regards,
    Ming Jade

I'm not exactly sure what version you are using.
Servlet Filters were introduced in Servlet 2.3 which was part of J2EE 1.3.
    Oracle9iAS 9.0.2.3 is J2EE 1.2 compatible .
    Oracle Application Server 10g 9.0.4.x and 10.1.2 is J2EE 1.3 compatible
    Oracle Application Server 10g 10.1.3 is J2EE 1.4 compatible.
So the problem could be that the version of the product you are using does does not support the version of the servlet spec that covers Servlet Filters.
Can you upgrade to/install the 10.1.2 release as a minimum?
    cheers

  • Servlet forward not working with portal and oc4j

    Scenario: page1.jsp, page2.jsp, MyServlet
Page1.jsp posts a form to MyServlet which then does some processing and forwards to page2.jsp.
    Tests:
Works fine as a standalone app under oc4j.
Does not work as oc4j-driven portlet under latest portal. Specifically, it conks out on the forward.
    Question:
    Why?
    What is the suggested workaround?
    Michael Mogley
    Software Engineer
    LRN, Inc.

James, thanks for responding but you are misunderstanding the problem. I have been able to do multipage and form-submit portlets as you describe for a long time. The issue is I am not able to use the jsp-forward directive within a validation servlet when using oc4j with portal. Here is what I'm trying to do in pseudocode:
    EntryPoint.jsp
    1. Enter form data.
    2. Submit form to MyServlet.
    MyServlet
    1. Validate form.
    2. If valid, <jsp-forward page="success.jsp"/>.
    3. Else, <jsp-forward page="failure.jsp"/>.
The above works fine when used in an app running on oc4j outside of portal. It does not work when the same oc4j app is portletized. By the way, the portletized app WILL work if I change jsp-forward to jsp-include. So the problem is obviously in the forwarding.
    Michael
I would try looking at the samples in the PDK-Java V2 that show how to do form input and multipage behavior. The form input shows you how to make a form in a portlet that when you submit it, the entered values appear in the portlet. The multipage portlet shows you how to have a portlet display one page and then when you click on a link, it shows you the second page.
It may make sense to copy the same code used for the samples and just tweak it to create a form that passes values from page1 to page2.
For more info on V2 parameters, see the article "A Primer on Parameters and Events" in the PDK-Previews (for subscribers to Developer Services only). You can also see the V1 article called "Understanding the Parameter Passing Portlet" for more info on parameter passing with portlets in V1.

  • CRVS2010 Beta - Printing does not work in Google Chrome

I 've run into an issue with printing crystal reports using Google Chrome. I've tested this on 4 different computers with the same result. When a user clicks print the printer dialog does not appear and the report will not print.
The version of Google Chrome tested is 6.0.472.63

ActiveX print works on IE. But I had to do a bunch of ActiveX and security configurations in IE (Using Server 2008) - allow ActiveX download, etc., etc.
PDF print mode does not work on my computer either. However I have the same build on this box as the public download. The latest internal build does print and export to pdf with no issues. So, I suspect this was a bug, but it is now resolved and should be OK at RTM.

  • Servlet tag not working

    Hi,
I was using the servlet tag in my html files to call servlets, enabled by
Server Side Includes, which was working fine with Weblogic4.03 but since

Also, I have a servlet which is calling making calls to an ejbobject proxy,
which returns a Serializable object, whose class file is available in a jar
which is on the Windows NT System ClassPath. Weblogic throws a

Are you doing it like this?

              like this:

  • Servlet Filter not working in JDK1.3.1

    Hi,
I have an authorization filter which was deployed in WebSphere5.0 which is configured under datasource5(oracle thin driver) with jndi.
    observed facts
    ===============
WebSphere 5.0 comes with jdk1.3.1. and supports datasource 4/5.0
    datasource 5.0 will support servlet2.3.
    Servlet 2.3 depends on jdk1.2.
    Problem
    ========
When i am trying execute my filter in websphere its giving the below given error:
IntranetAuthorizationFilter was found, but is missing another required class.

My filter is not using java/lang/CharSequence anywhere.
Can someone figureout why this problem is coming.
    Regards

As you probably know, CharSequence is an interface. Such classes as String implement this interface in JDK 1.4. So if you are trying to use filter compiled under JDK 1.4 then you certainly will meet the problem.

  • Preview in Safari Beta for Win not working

    Hello All,
    Anyone else having this problem?
I installed the new Safari beta for Windows (xp) and added it
to my Preview in Browser list in Dreamweaver, pointing it to
safari.exe, but when I try to preview, Safari opens and displays
the home page, not my Dreamweaver project page.
    Any thoughts,
    Scott

    Hi Scott,
Safari beta for win has a number of problems. Loading local
    pages is one of
them. I found if I preview in another browser like FF from DW
    and then copy
and paste the page URL into Safari it works sometimes. Search
    this newsgroup
    for "OT: Safari for XP/Vista"

  • JPDK Servlets/JSP not working

    Hi there,
I am facing a couple of problems related to oracle portal.
1-As i have installed oracle portal the application server doesnt run JSPs.
2-In addition to Oracle Portal I have installed JPDK and configured it as written in the documentation. I tried to run example servlet and jsp on it as given in the documentation, but as i write "http://server1:80/servlet/myfirst"
but it shows "The page cannot be found", but if i write http://server1:80/servlet/IsItWorking, it is running perfectly.
IS there any configration problem or what?
Thanx in advace for any one who provides answer to any of the above two questions.
    Hassan

    Hassan,
    1. What version of Portal do you have installed. I have not seen any issues displaying JSPs from the production version of Portal. 3.0.6.6.5 and 3.0.7.6.2. If you have an EA release the JPDK install guide tells you how to download the new version of OJSP.
    2. If you get the page cannot be displayed error, this means that either it does not recognize "myfirst" or it cannot find the class file. you can try to call the Adapter directly. http://host.domain/servlet/oracle.portal.provider.v1.http.HttpProvider
If this fails, check the jserv.properties to make sure that you specified the correct location to find the provider.jar.
If this works, then you do not have the myfirst alias setup correctly in the zone.properties.
Check both of these files, but first you will need to resolve the JSP issues with Apache.
    Hope this helps,
    Sue
