8.2.1 update wacked

I just updated to 8.2.1 and now everything is showing up in my "Music" Library.
All podcasts, audio books, etc are listed in my "Music" Library. Any way to get them out besides going through , selecting them individually and deleting them?
Also, I noticed that some music is not listed. Hopefully I won't have to rebuild the library file.

I'm just going to throw this out there. I too was having issues with AirTunes dropping out on my remote speakers in the garage. Just on a whim, I checked the Airport Utility and in the advanced tab, there is a Log and Statistics button. I looked at the log file and found that the there was an error being reported that the computer could not find the time server for Apple that I had setup in the system settings when I first got the iMac. Here is a copy of that error.
"No Address for NTP server time.apple.com."
I changed this to a time server that I use at work that is tied to GPS. (sorry I can't give out that address) But since I have changed that time address in the System Settings AND in the Airport Utility Base Station I have had no problems. I just came in from 8 hours of working in the garage and I had no dropouts in the audio from AirTunes.
Now will this work for you? Who knows. But this did work for me, at least for now. I know that when we lose time sync at work, the servers don't play nice. So you might want to give this a try.

Facebook is a joke to get on and navigate. UGGGGGGHHHHHH! From what I read in the forums, verizon has tried to pass the buck to HTC, who passed it right back. apparently there is no way to uninstall ICS and return to GINGERBREAD firmware!!! I am furious! This is my only phone and I use it for work!!!

LDAP Client busted after 10.6.5 update...

I had ldap lookup working through contacts on to my corp ldap server. after the update, i noticed that the port config had changed from 389 to 3268 and now none of the contact looks are working. I noticed this issue last week and didn't connect it to 10.6.5 until today when after restoring and regaining ldap, I allowed the update and promptly lost ldap and noticed the ports being auto-magically being changed for me.

I went back to 10.6.4 and it works. I was trying to get davmail working and was playing around with different base search options and all of a sudden Apple LDAP quit working. nothing seems to get it back short of a restore, but that is getting rather old. I am not sure how anything that i am doing could wack this out. unless there is something cached? Tbird works reliably, i just would rather use outlook 2011 in imap mode with ldap.
doing a wireshark trace i notice that the two apps are using different filter strings for the ldap search. the Tbird works for me while AB filter does not. Does anyone know if they are stored in a config file someplace where they can be tweaked.

Anyone else getting the BLACK screen of death after Kitkat 4.4 update?

Ever since the update, my phone is wacked, like everyone elses. I got my Samsung Galaxy S4 a month ago. Beautiful, loved it. Update happens: I want to pitch this thing as far as I can throw it.
The phone rings. I go to answer it but all I have is a BLACK SCREEN which is LOCKED. I have the lock on the screen, but if the screen is black, you can't see it - and you can't answer the phone! One day, I got a message, and could not get to that. Why? the BLACK SCREEN OF DEATH.
Someone told me to turn off Samsung Watch On and that has helped with some of the issues. But I still get the screen occasionally, and my battery life is GONE.
How do we get rid of this update? Should I just call Verizon and get a new phone with the OLD software? I hate this. I feel like I was the victim of bait and switch.

ltg123 - did you resolve the problem yet? If so, let me know how.
My (hopefully temporary) solution was to turn off my "Lock Screen" ... to do this, go to Settings, My Device, Lock Screen ... and select None.
The only issue is that you would no longer have any security for your phone and would be vulnerable to someone stealing your phone and having full access to whatever is on your phone that does not require a separate id and password. Dangerous, yes ... but, for me right now, it's better than not having any access to my own phone!
The Android update simply sucks ... some heads should roll for allowing such a crappy update to get (no pun intended) rolled out.

Update Flash Player warning messsage

Help needed.... I'm not a user of Flash player but probably downloaded because advised to by another programme... I'm now getting a continuous interuption warning sign on my screen "Update Flash Player (various, different letters and numbers) is requesting your permission - this is driving me mad. I have uninstalled, re installled but comes up every 20 seconds or so and my pc is running very differently - can someone help please? I'm not very techie....

FWIW, YouTube has finished converting ALL of their videos to HTML5, which requires NO plug-in... at all.

MAC WILL NOT REBOOT AFTER DOWNLOADING LATEST SECURITY UPDATE

I downloaded the latest Security Update to my Mac Mini with Snow Leopard. It downloaded but would not restart. I finally managed to get it to boot to a bootable external drive and using Disk Utility found the HD was OK but the Preferences way out of wack. I patched up what I could but when I tried restarting to the original drive it would not work. I just get the white screen with a circle and stroke through it after a minute with the spinning ball. I have tried the original start up Disk, pressing C on Startup, but it just spits it out. I tried to use an older System Disk, one for Leopard but it will not see it. I tried zapping the PRAM twice to no avail. Now it won't see the bootable drive either.....
To me it sound like a massive hard drive fail, maybe nothing to do with the Security update. Your thoughts on this would be greatly appreciated though.....

It seems that the update set your preferences to "use PPPOe" while you where using "TCP/IP".
Go to "System Preferences" and enter the pane whose icon is named "Réseau" in french (maybe "Network" in english.
Reset your settings to "TCP/IP".

Cfgrid not updating database

Hello,
I copy and pasted some code from WACK coldfusion book and i

Failed iMac updates with boot up errors

I own a iMac, which I have kept up to date and installed bootcamp on for my video games, it was all running fine until I tried to update it. Then it restarted like it always does after updates, then installed then it rebooted again and everytime after that when I boot up, it goes to the grey screen with the spinning gear and apple. This has happened once before, and when I went to the apple store they told me they didn't know what was wrong and instead of trying to fix it or find out what was wrong they said the best thing to do was to restore the whole computer and reinstall mac os x. just recently it happened again, and i did some research of my own... I found a lot of old blogs of the same thing happening to people a long time ago. They all said that it was a easy fix, and all they had to do was reinstall the latest software update in target disk mode. I finally got a firewire cord and tried to reinstall the software on to my comp (broken) from my brothers comp (normal). I started the install as normal, but when I went to select the destination for the install, it was basically telling me I couldn't due to the hard drive being read only.
I was wondering if there is a way to change this. If it helps, the windows partition set up through bootcamp still works, and i still have all of my install disks.

say this is maybe a back plane eprom of the chassis (BPE) that got wacked for whatever reason, very unusual.
you could try this:
go to rommon
rommon 1> priv
rommon 2> bpcookie
and just enter through all the entries, dont change anything just to update the crc
and that might resolve the issue.
like what I said, never happens as BPE is never written to unless manually done...
if doesnt resolve, do a TAC case and possibly ask for a replacement, but this is not a hw failure pers-e.

Flash 10 install fail after 10.6.2 update. Help please.

It all started after the new 10.6.2 update I did for Snow Leopard
I don't know if this is an something you here at adobe can fix or its something going on at Apple.
Is anyone else having this problem or is it just me?
Opera, and firefox unexpectidy quit as well.
and my wacom drivers are out of wack.
I tryed to uninstall flash player but that too unexpectidly quits.
When I try to restart it gets hung up, and I have to do a hard start to get logged into my computer again.
I ran the disk utility and repaired permissions, that didn't help.
Anyway the install failed said I should contact Adobe so here I am.

So what I did was downoad and install the MacOSXUpdCombo10.6.2.dmg

On the left you will see the downloads, The one you want is the (combo) version.
Just as a precaution, I would recommend backups, as these little glitches are often percursers to the big fail.
I use corbonite, you can search for it on your own, or time machine ect, whatever works best for you.
Sorry I may have been rude, I have always liked Adobe products and I have no doubt that the people at Adobe are working hard to keep everything working, it must be quite hard to deal with irate customers all day.

Blinking / flickering update flash player

i'm using my windows 8 laptop when suddenly a message from flash player came and it told me to update it to the newest version...and i click yes...and for a while my laptop start to flickering and when i open my folders. it disappear... and also there are a "internet explorer not working" notification always comes out within 5 or 7 minutes even though i never use it...i've tried uninstalling it using uninstaller, unlock but it just the same...what should i do??? please help me...i'm not used to "play" with computer system so i don't know what should i do...PLEASE HELP!!!

Won't Restart after latest Security Update Download.

Yesterday I downloaded the latest Security Update to my Mac Mini with Snow Leopard. It downloaded but would not restart. I finally managed to get it to boot to a bootable external drive and using Disk Utility found the HD was OK but the Preferences way out of wack. I did what I could but when I tried restarting to the original drive it would not work. I just get the white screen with a circle and stroke through it after a minute with the spinning ball. I have tried the original start up Disk, pressing C on Startup, but it just spits it out. I tried to use an older System disk, one for Leopard but it will not see it. I tried zapping the PRAM twice to no avail. Now it won't see the bootable drive either.....
To me it sound like a massive hard drive fail. Nothing to do with the Security update. Your thoughts on this would be greatly appreciated though.....

No one on the Apple site could help me so I took it into Tekserve in NYC. I was afraid that I was going to have to replace the entire Hard Drive but they finally managed to get it working. In the end for $60 they reinstalled the System, keeping all of my files intact. I have a bootable external drive, but I was happier not to have to use that. Apparently it was a multilevel problem, and not something anyone can fix themselves. If you look at the Apple discussions quite a few people had problems with that update.....

Stuttery audio, pops and clicks since updating

ok, i've just updated to the itunes (7.0.2) and it's already giving me a headache.
Every time i'm playing audio i get lots of pops and cracks. I've noticed that if i look at my cpu usage chart the pops come along at exactly the same interval as i get cpu spikes. (about 50% cpu usage). I can't think what's going on.
All my drivers are up to date, direct x etc., and i've checked out that article that attempts to help you if you have crackley audio - nothing on it helps!

Good news ladies and gents, i've had some success.
I tried reinstalling directX, but this didn't solve the issue.
However, i then entered the DirectX diagnostic utility just to check everything.
(if you go to Start->Run or press Win-R on your keyboard, and then type dxdiag it'll come up)
I noticed that under the sound tab, the acceleration level slider was set to 'None'. (IMPORTANT: this is a different control to the one found in windows audio settings) Having wacked the slider up to 'Full' and run the 'test Direct Sound' app and closed everything itunes plays without glitches.
I still however get large cpu spikes. Ii've got a reasonably fast computer so i shouldn't really. Get it sorted apple!

15" screen sharpness since last update

Hi
I downloaded the last OS update and security fix to my computer this morning, and now my screen has gone out of wack..
everything appears blurred, just enough to make it difficult to look at the screen, i noticed in the 17" screen forum this happened to someone else ? any ideas? as work today is gonna end in one big headache!

Hey! fixed it! it was in the universal access section of the system preferences, it has switched zoom on when i upgraded ? hope this can be of help to someone else!
