8 G Nano Freezing Problems--How Widespread Is It And Another Question

I got this 8 G Nano about 1 and 1/2 weeks ago. Last night it froze. I did the "hold switch on and off" and it worked. Then I did the "center and menu" option which gave me the Apple icon when I turned it on with a prompt to use iTunes to restore the Nano. Since I am away from my computer, I have not be able to do that yet. My questions are: how widespread is the freezing problem and is there anything I can do to lessen the chances of it occuring, and since I got the Apple icon on the screen will I encounter any problems when I do the restore?

I think it would be a little bit of a skewed judgement of how widespread any particular problem is based on the responses on this board. You have to keep in mind that most people come here in the first place because of a problem they are experiencing. So it's likely that the ratio on here would be extremely high. The people that post on here only represent a small number (ratio wise) of ipod users world wide so over all the problems described on here may not be as widespread as it may appear (also keep in mind that other sites where complaints are logged would have the same issue...and it's very likely that a number of the complaints here are reposted on various sites by the same people). On here, I am one of the few people that has not experienced the majority of the issues that others have posted about. I have not had to reset my ipod or do a restore or go through any of the 5 R's. On here I feel like I may be on of the lucky minority but the people around me represent a different picture. No problems with their units with the exception of the on-the-go playlists bug and the initial firmware bugs everyone experienced.
As for experiencing any problems when you go to restore due to you having the Apple icon...in theory I would like to tell you no, you won't have any problems, but the reality seems to be that it's impossible to really predict what will happen.

Without your printer model numbers, readers can only give you vague general directions.
System Preferences > Print&Fax > ...
... shows a list of all set-up printers.
If you are having serious problems, it makes sense to "Reset the Printing System" (which also removes all printer set-ups) and add back each printer. It only takes a few minutes.

Just installed 2014 (win 7 x64).
But none of my filter (Nik, etc) are showing up? How can I point PS 2014 to my old filter plug-in golder? I looked in prefs? Also I need to point 2014 to my extensions primarily my Paper textures extension.
I would think the 2014 would use the regular CCs filters ???

Update: I used a symbolic link to connect my PS CC old version plugin folder to the 2014 plugin folder. That worked, but I'm not showing my Paper Texture extension. I did the same symbolic link but EXTENSIONS are blank.
Any ideas?

Signature Problems - how to keep links and video capability after inserting signature in Reader

I create inspection reports where the first page is a signed letter and the rest of the report is text, videos and links to pictures within the document (created in Adobe Acrobat X Pro). When we sign the pdf in Reader XI the links and videos no longer work. Is there a way around this?

we have windows server 2008 r2 and In our application there are three server and on e client application.
My client application freezes on a specific scenario.
Steps taken to hang are following:-
1. start client application
2. open an module named by XYZ
3. login to remote machine with another session./ Another user login from their computer.
4. connect with the session which have client application opened.
5. Whenever the session is forcibly taken client application becomes unresponsive.

How to set dimension and another parameters of received dataSource to rec?

I have a small problem with set the dimension of recording video from received dataSource.
It always have dimension of original dataSource :/
I have done something like this:

FormatControls are only available on capture devices that have the ability to capture in multiple formats. The FormatControl is used to control the device itself, not the stream. The concept of using a FormatControl on a DataSource that isn't reading from a capture device doesn't make sense, which is why you're having problems.
In order to change the resolution or other format characteristics of a video stream that isn't coming from a capture device directly, you'll need to transcode it from the existing format to the new format.

I have two problems. One with LTE and another with iCloud terms and conditions.

I haven't had some of the bigger problems with the 6 as some. But I am having two issues that are getting annoying. One is a pop up every 5-10 minutes that says I cannot use icloud without accepting terms and conditions. However it won't let me accept any. The other is lte is not working on my phone, but is fine with my husbands. Any ideas? Thanks!

Applet problems and another question

Hey guys, I am having two problems with some code of mine.
(1) I can't get this code to run in a browser, it says the class DrawingFrame is not found, but it is in the same directory and it runs using JBuilder in an applet viewer. What is wrong?
(2) I need to calculate the lengths of the paths in a fractal tree. I have no idea how to do this correctly. I can calculate it when both path scales are the same but when they are different everything is shot. Plus it prints out twice as many lengths as there are paths!
Please help with this problem, I have been pulling my hair out, thanks.

You are using Swing in an applet.
1) Are you using Sun's plugin (JRE 1.4) or Microsoft JVM?
2) The code
import com.borland.jbcl.layout.*;indicates that you probably would have to include some Borland classes in your applet JAR file (I don't know which ones to include!) if you want to run the applet.
List the JAR please:
jar tf <your applet jar file>
Example:
jar tf myapplet.jar
It will help you.
For instance, if you do not get in your listing a line like:
DrawingFrame.class
your applet will never run.

Adding To The LIst Of Problems With Internet Explolrer 11 And Another Browser

I've b1 of the EA6500 router and like the othe posts I can't use IE 11. The "solution" is to use either Chrome or Firefox but not my Chrome has stopped working. All I get now is the LInksys Blue background. When I first see the site it looks like it's trying but then gives me a blue page. I've included screen prints of what I see when I go to Linksys Smart Wi-Fi page and below that is the version number. I have deleted my browser history, cache, saved form data, etc. but the result is still the same. And it doesn't matter if I use the router IP address or the Smartsys Wi-Fi link.
So right now the only broweser that will let me do router administration is Firefox but something tells me it too will have problems eventually.
the problem I'm having isn't with the router, it is with the company. People have tried to blame Micrtosoft in these posts for the problem but it's not their problem. The real kicker is that these Smart Wi-Fi routers are not old. nor are they cheap. LInksys announced this line at CES 2012, then again in April, and the last one announced for thie "initial" line-up of new routers was the EA6500 (the EA6500 was anounced in June 2012).
I've been mostly happy with LInksys reouters but if this is the way they are going to conduct business, then maybe I need to make certain adjustments with the networking products we purchase.
To put it bluntly...this situation is unacceptable.

Believe it or not I stumbled across the solution to the problem and need to partially retract one of my previous statements. In a sense part of the responsibility does go to Microsoft because during one of their infamous "updates", the default version of Internet Explorer was changed to use the 64-bit version. I rarely used the Internet Explorer (64 bit) link in my Start Menu...I always used the "default" which apparently was the 32-bit version because there are plenty of companies that have not updated their software for 64-bit.
The article I came across is Problem With Internet Explorer? Maybe You Need Fewer Bits. The fix is simple and all it really takes is to right-click the icon for Internet Explorer and choose "Properties". When that comes up change the value in the "Target" field from "C:\Program Files\Internet Explorer\iexplore.exe" to "C:\Program Files (x86)\Internet Explorer\iexplore.exe". Once you make the change save the change and then use that link to get to administer your browser. I tried it and it worked. I guess I missed the post from Linksys Support about that possibility.

Record insertion problem and another question...

I know I'm now php mysql expert so I am trying to use the
insertion wizard and I can make the form and have it supposed to
link to another page after its done inserting but when I run the
page and fill in the details it inserts the record but does not

pages that I can run will sometimes cause and error box to popup
saying that Apache has caused error, the box that gives you the
option of sending the report or not. Anyone know what the problem
is here?

The headers already sent error is a common problem that
baffles
beginners. It's caused by some output being sent to the
browser before a
call to certain functions, such as header() or
session_start(). You need
to eliminate that output, and the problem will go away.
Common causes of output are:
* Blank space before the opening PHP tag
* Blank space before the opening PHP tage or after the
closing PHP tag
of any include files
* Use of echo or print anywhere before the call to the
problem function
* Error messages generated by PHP

None of the server packages are endorsed by PHP. Some are
good, others
not so good. It sounds as though you have a bad installation.
Seek
advice from the WAMP team or support forum if they have one.

I know how to fix the iTunes 7 / firmware ver. 1.2 freeze problem

Many of you (like me) are having major headaches because of the new updates that Apple has been releasing (i.e. iTunes 7). So far I only know that this affects the Video iPod, but this could very well fix other models too.
Here are some symptoms of what the following will fix, and what you most likely have already done to try and fix it.
- iPod keeps freezing after a few seconds ever since you updated to iTunes 7 and/or iPod software ver. 1.2.
- iPod will remain in Do Not Disconnect mode even after ejecting or disconnecting
- A forced reset does not fix it, as it repeats the above.
- Restoring the iPod through iTunes does not help
So, here's what to do.
The old iPod updater software is how you will fix all of this. Unfortunately, because iTunes 7 thinks that it's better and more up to date, it will prevent you from opening the old version of the software if you still have it on your machine.
So first of all, uninstall iTunes 7.0. (You do not have to remove your library information, just the software.) Restart the computer.
If you still have the old iPod updater, try it and see if it runs. If it does, read on. If not, skip to the next paragraph. So, if it does run, simply hit Restore and you can go back to a previous version of the firmware. I believe that Apple discontinued the firmware page since releasing iTunes 7. Look around some search engines like Google if you really want the latest firmware.
Take out the installation CD that came with your iPod. Run it and it should install the old iPod updater along with iTunes 6.x. iTunes 6.x cannot run since iTunes 7 changed your libary's formatting, but that will not be a problem. Run the Restore process in the old updater and it should be alright for you to start loading your stuff on again without problems.
Since iTunes 7 reformatted your libary listing, iTunes 6 will no longer work. However, you can still use it by reinstalling iTunes 7. Just make sure you do the following.
TO KEEP THE SAME THING FROM HAPPENING AGAIN
iTunes 7 is actually alright. It's the updater part of it that will screw up your iPod.
- iTunes 7 will tell you that a new iPod software version is available when you open it.
- Check the "Never Ask Again" box and click Don't Install.
- When you sync your iPod to your computer, NEVER touch the Version section when you're changing your iPod's settings. Everything else is alright to work with.
- Everything will work fine as long as you never update the iPod's software via iTunes, at least until the programmers can fix this issue in a later release or patch.
I hope this helps out a lot of you. Pretty lame of Apple to miss something this big during debugging.

Listen to this person, he knows exactly what he's talking about. My unit had the freezing problem, the visual artifact problem, and eventually would only show a blank white screen after I had tinkered too long. Luckily I have another computer that I hadn't yet upgraded to itunes 7 and it had the last firmware upgrade before the itunes 7 one. From disk mode I was able to restore it to the previous firmware version, and now the ipod works perfectly.
I too am almost disqusted with Apple for 1) missing this problem and 2) not letting people know!
I wonder how many more people are going to have lots of problems so apple can protect their PR.
Anyways, what would be really helpful would be if someone could upgrade the latest firmware installer before itunes 7 (it's an individual ipod updating program, not itunes 6.xx)somewhere on the internet so users could download it and do away with this evil 1.2 firmware.

5800 Music- how bad is the freezing problem

I am looking at buying the 5800. However after looking at hunderds of reviews and comments it seems to me that users either love or hate their musicexpress with not much inbetween. Knowing that users will often only vent their anger when things go wrong can anyone tell me how bad the freezing problem is that seems to raise its head often with this phone. Are there many people who have this phone not have this problem or is the problem only occur when thier is some conflict with some app.
One other questions is it possible to use the phone to keep reasonabvle amount of notes- I am about to head overseas and want to use the phone also to replace a notebook and diary and also to use its many other functions

I do not have this problem, then again my 5800 has not been working in anyway except perfect ever since I bought it, except for the crashing browser on v30.
Yes you can keep a lot of notes on the phone, Although you may want to find a "note app" like express note to save the notes onto memory card if you plan to use it all too often.

If you use a trackpad and don't want to switch to a mouse, you can uninstall and reinstall all day long and will still have problems, but if you really want to try it, you can download PSE 12 here:
