80 GB on dropbox but only 250 GB HD
i seem to be in a constant battle trying to keep my 250 GB HD from filling up.
right now i am showing a 80 GB dropbox folder and i am wondering if there is anything i can do about this.
i mean, presumably i can take some of this data OFF dropbox and put it on my mac pro hard drive but this sort of defeats the purpose of buying more space on dropbox to share information between my computers.
is this just basically a fact of syncing my MBP with dropbox?

Safari stalls, but only on one user account
I am having a problem with web browsers, but only on one particular user account. Safari will usually (>90% of the time) stall after the blue bar loads 1/4 to 1/3 of the way. It will hang permanently and never complete loading the page. This happens primarily when I click on a link in any web page. I can sometimes (<25% of the time) go to a page by typing the URL in the address bar. This happens with any browser (Safari, Thunderbird, Google Chrome) with this user account. On all other user accounts, all web browsers work normally. The user account that is giving me trouble is the one with all of our photos, documents, etc., so would prefer not to simply delete this account and create a new one.
I have already tried emptying the cache, disabling the cache, restarting the computer, updating to the latest version of OS X, clearing history and website data, etc.
I have a mid-2011 iMac 12,1 with 2.7 GHz Intel core i5 processor and 20 GB of memory. I am running OS X Yosemite 10.10.2 and Safari 8.0.4. I have a 1 TB hard drive with 630 GB available.

I have Windows 7 and for some reason I cannot install Adobe Type Manager onto my Computer. I need ATM to install the DIN font but am having no luck what so ever. I can see the DIN font in my Dropbox but it is showing up like this:- ._DIN-bold, no file file extension. what am I doing wrong? is it Mac?
(1) Adobe Type Manager (ATM) is not compatible with any version of Windows beyond Windows XP (32-bit, only). Attempting to install ATM on any newer version of Windows may actually disable Window's capability of rendering Type 1 and OpenType CFF fonts, requiring a reinstallation of Windows.
(2) There is no need to use ATM to install any fonts under Windows.
(3) The file name ._DIN-bold is indicative of a MacOS font. These fonts cannot be installed on Windows systems.

I have an I Mac and Mac Book Pro and want photo stream on both but only permanently on one
I have an I Mac, Macbook Pro, Ipad, Iphone and ipod touch that under my id and then my son and wife both have Iphones. I want photo streaming on all my devices and my wifes but only want pictures to be permanent on the I Mac. How do I do this
To make an exact "clone" of the i7 hard drive on the MBP hard drive you could:
use Target mode to mount the MBP on the i7 (as if it were an external drive) OS X Mavericks: Transfer files between two computers using target disk mode
use CarbonCopyCloner to make a clone of the i7 on the MBP drive. Mac Backup Software - Carbon Copy Cloner
It would be easier, however, to just set up file sharing between the two computers, and then they would just have access to each other's files. OS X Mavericks: Share your files
An even better option is to use some cloud based option for sharing the files, like iCloud Apple - iCloud - Your content. On all your devices. or Dropbox. Dropbox Then you could open a file on either Mac, and work on it, and it would sync with the other Mac automatically. You could make changes on a file on one Mac, and then when you open the file on the other Mac the changes would be there. And you could also share files easily with others. -
I am getting the error ¨This backup is too large for the backup disk. The backup requires 1.42 TB but only 998.49 GB are available¨ when I try to do a time machine backup. I have a Retina Macbook Pro and am only using 250 GB on the internal drive. My 1TB external drive that I am trying to use has been complete reformated (case sensitive journaled) and therefore completely empty. Any ideas why time machine is saying my drive has 1.14 TB when its capacity is no where near that?
Well, at this point I might recommend that you reboot your MacBook Pro while simultaneously holding down the Command - R keys and booting into the Lion Recovery Partition. There I would enter the "Disk Uility", highlight your Mac HD in the left hand column to select it and run "Repair Disk", and then run "Repair Permissions" twice. They may resolve the hard drive's confusion in Time Machine.

Most of the songs on my iPod Classic no longer show up on iTunes on my laptop. I deleted iTunes & installed the latest version but this did not change anything. For example on 1 playlist I have 66 songs but only 1 shows on the iTunes screen. Thanks you for any help.

I just subscribed to iTunes match but only 61 songs from my 7GB of music on my iphone showed up. I do not want to lose any music. What should i do? When I go to settings-music-and try to enable iTunes Match on my iPhone it says "iTunes Match will replace the music library on this device" I don't want to do that it only has 61 of my 7GB of songs.

I have been trying to transfer some different movies from my PC to my IPad, but they are not showing in the "movie" folder. I have sync'd the movies (these are mp4 files) that I wanted transfered, but only one is showing in the folder. There are 13 other movies in the folder that have the ICloud symbol in the corner of their picture. I understand that I can pull those movies from ICloud any time I want to watch them, but I want to watch the ones that I've just sync'd with my IPad. How do I find them? After I checked the movies I wanted, I "applied" them and watched it sync and copy the wanted movies to my IPad. Now what? Thanks.
There are some good programs that you could use to convert the format, Handbrake or Mpegstreamclip are two good free ones. Convert them to MP4 and then try importing them again.

Hello, I have 333 songs on my library list but only 108 on my ipod....on the library the songs that won't download to my Ipod have ! marks in front of them, how do I get rid of them so them may go on my ipod?
The ! usually means that the song file has been moved or deleted. If you can find the song file on your hard drive, you can remove the song from iTunes and put it back by using File>Open and navigating to the song file. There is also a location that iTunes will look for song files (I'm a Mac guy, so I don't know where it should be in Windows, but for me it's HD>Users>My User Name>Music>iTunes>iTunes Music and then there are various folders for different albums, podcasts, etc.), so I would keep them all there.

My iPhone is a 16GB and it says 9.0GB Available and 3.7GB used; I suspect the missing 2.3GB is occupied by the system software.

JFRThe Mini Display port and Thunderbolt port use compatible connector bodies. Your current Mini Display to DVI or VGA adapter will still work as before on the newer Thunderbolt capable machines.
