If it is asking for the passcode then
Place the iPod in Recovery Mode and restore via iTunes.

If not successful, try DFU mode.

  • I updated my ipod touch from 4.3.5 to IOS 6.1.2 and doesnt want to sync or apply musics

Doesnt want to sync after i updated it from ios 4.3.5 to ios 6.1.2 and i backed it up nd stuff but now i cant apply music on it!

    See:
iOS 4: Updating your device to iOS 5 and later
Just make sure that all of your synced media like apps and music are in the iTunes library since the backup that iTunes makes does not included synced media.

  • 80 gig ipod doesnt work no more

my 80 gig ipod formatted all its songs that was on it. then wen i try to restore it or change the setting it doesnt want to sync
at first it does and then it just says connected wen it only sync 100 songs. and then my itunes freezes

    Try:
    - Reset the iOS device. Nothing will be lost
Reset iOS device: Hold down the On/Off button and the Home button at the same time for at
least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
    - Reset all settings
Go to Settings > General > Reset and tap Reset All Settings.
All your preferences and settings are reset. Information (such as contacts and calendars) and media (such as songs and videos) aren’t affected.
    - Restore from backup. See:
    iOS: How to back up
    - Restore to factory settings/new iOS device.

    Hello,
Your iPod's hard drive had probably gone bad. You may need to get your iPod inspected or its hard drive replaced by Apple.
Have you tried out all the suggestions contained in the links below?:

  • My 'recently added' playlist doesnt want to sync correctly on my iphone5

It's stuck and doesnt want to sync any new music i add.

It's not under Devices.  You click on the name of your phone on the left side of iTunes, then to the right you will see a series of tabs that contain your sync settings, such as Summary, Info, etc.  One of these is Music.  Click on this tab heading and you will see Sync Music, with a checkbox next to it (see image below).  Uncheck this setting and sync to delete all music from your phone.  Re-check it and sync again to transfer your music back to your phone.

  • When i drag and drop to my ipod it wants to sync everything, but if i make changes to the syncing options and apply it wants to sync it all to make it work. i have 12000 songs and takes two days to sync everything. is there an easier way to drag and drop

when i drag and drop to my ipod it wants to sync everything, but if i make changes to the syncing options and apply it wants to sync it all to make it work. i have 12000 songs and takes two days to sync everything. is there an easier way to drag and drop just one album without making settings changes?

The first ever Sync of 12,000 songs to an empty iPod will take a while, but it shouldn't take two days.
Once all 12,000 songs have been Synced to the iPod, subsequent changes to just one album will result in a very short Sync time. That Sync will include:
the change to that one album
play counts on iPod updated into your iTunes Library
Smart Playlists updated: some complex Smart Playlists are not always updated by the iPod but have to wait for a Sync with the Library.
housework - in other words, behind the scenes tasks that we don't need to see.
Those subsequent Syncs do not sync every single song every time.
So, stick with Syncing. If the first Sync of all your songs is taking too long, try syncing part of the Library (say one or two genres) the first time, a further part the second time and so on. After all, with a Library that large, manually managing the iPod will be a source of torture.

  • My ipod doesnt want to restore and has usb and itunes when turning on?

ipod touch doesnt want restore and has usb cord and itunes signs when u turn on help?

    - See the not-charging topic of:
    iPod touch: Hardware troubleshooting
    - Have you tried another cable?
    - Another charging source? Does iTunes see the iPod when you connect to your computer?
    - Look at the dock connector on the iPod. Look for abnormalities like bent or corroded contacts, foreign material and cracked or broken plastic.
    - Also, see the other topics of that article.
    - Restore the iPod.

  • 60 gig iPod Photo won't sync

I have a 60 gig iPod Photo that has stopped being recognized by the computer. I tried a new USB cable. Sometimes it will charge when connected to the computer, sometimes not. It will charge when plugged in to 12V source. I have tried it on more than one Mac, but no dice. Any suggestions/help would be appreciated. And yes, we have tried the reset several times!

Since you tried it on multiple Macs with a different cable, you've mostly eliminated the +bad docking cable+, +bad USB port+, and +something wrong with the Mac's system+ possibilities.
Question: When you have it connected to the power adapter, does it operate properly as an iPod? So does it display its screen menu and play songs?
If it does, then the hard drive is probably OK and not the problem. The problem may be that the dock connector on the iPod side has become worn or otherwise damaged. There are many pins on the connector, so it is possible for it to charge yet not connect for data.
If it does not work as an iPod (play music), for iPods with a hard drive, the hard drive is the most common failure point. So it is possible that the hard drive in your iPod has become faulty. Other possibilities are problem on the logic board and problem in the connection between the logic board and hard drive.
If the iPod does not get recognized by Disk Utility, the only other idea I can think of is to open it up. You can try disconnecting the battery and see if it connects to the Mac with no battery. You can try disconnecting the hard drive, inspecting the two connection points between the hard drive and logic board, and reconnecting.
    Here is a helpful guide.
    http://www.ifixit.com/Guide/iPod/iPod-4th-Generation/93
When opening the 4G iPod, it is easiest to start from the seam at the top end, because there are no clips there. Be careful at the top left corner (looking at the iPod from the front) because there is a delicate ribbon cable there connecting the two halves of the case. You do not want to yank it open at that corner. If possible, leave that connection alone; it can easily get damaged when trying to disconnecting the ribbon cable. You should be able to lay the iPod open, like a book, from the right side.
Be sure to use plastic tools to open the iPod. Metal tools will damage the case.

  • 30 gig ipod will not complete sync

Exactly the same problem with my brand new 80 gig classic.

  • My ipod doesnt want to turn on completely and even if i plug it into itunes it wont turn on. i was wondering if there is a way i can get all my photos back from my ipod ?

in the beginning my ipod was working fine and then came to a point that i can only use it while it is connected to a charger. my brother went to go fix it so then everything was working fine. & a month or two later the apps on my ipod would stop working . i would open it but then they would just shut back down. & i told my brother about it and he said all i had to do was reset the ipod. so he did that and the apps where working fine. then 10 minutes later i pressed one of the apps and the ipod turned white and shut off. now all it does it shoes the apple then it goes white and turns off again. i really want to get my pictures back because they are important.

Connect the iPod to your computer and let it charge for a couple of hours. The try to backup the iPod
iOS: How to back up and restore your content
    Then
    Photos
    - If they are in an iPod backup then restore an iPod, iPhone or iPad from that backup. See the restore topic of:
    iOS: How to back up
    - If they are in the iTunes backup then get them from the backup by:
Recover iPhone, iPad or iPod photos from backups with Picturescue
    or
iPhone Backup Extractor for Windows and Mac
    - If you used PhotoStream then try getting them from your PhotoStream. See that topic of:
iOS: Importing personal photos and videos from iOS devices to your computer
To try to make your iPod work see the following. It may end up erasing the iPod:
    Try:
    - iOS: Not responding or does not turn on
    - Also try DFU mode after try recovery mode

    - If not successful and you can't fully turn the iOS device fully off, let the battery fully drain. After charging for an least an hour try the above again.
    - Try on another computer
    - If still not successful that usually indicates a hardware problem and an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store is in order.

  • My ipod doesnt want to play games

when i press a game i looks like its about to turn on  but it doesnt

I just had the same problem!!! Have you tried reseting your iPod? I just tried it and it worked Here's what to do:
    1) switch the hold button (located on top) on and off a couple times
    2) Hold the "MENU" button and the center button (or select button) for about 6 to 10 seconds. The Apple Logo should appear on the screen.
If it doesn't work , try following the 5 r's (located on the support page). Good Luck

  • My ipod doesnt want to reset or charge

Omg im going crazy. Okay my boyfriend got my ipod wet last week or so. I tried resetting it and the apple logo shows but then after the little ipod with the sad face shows. When I toggle the hold buttom and then try to reset it, it then shows the battery meaning it needs to be charged but when I try to charge it, it doesnt charge. What should I do???

You should perform a restore on your ipod, that will take it back to factory settings and might fix some of the problems. If that doesn't work, post back and we can help you more. It could very well be that the batter got wet and now it won't hold a charge. If this is the case, then you should see if your warrenty covers accedents like that, if it does, take it back to the apple store and show them what is wrong with it, if not, then you might have to replace the ipod battery.

  • HT1711 what do you do if your ipod doesnt want to start?

My ipod touch 4G hasnt been done restoring and i put it to restore yesterday night what do i do

There is nothing to do.  This is the way the ipod touch works.
It will sync itunes content and pics with one and only one computer at a time.  When you sync to another it will indeed erase the current content.
