i want to do EAP authentication (802.1x) authentication by the client installed on Virtual machine. i want to by pass EAP authentication(802.1x) on Host machine, because i wanted to test it on the client in VM not on the host machine. for wifi it works fine because i can have a USB wifi NIC which connects to VM directly and the authentication goes fine as host machine NIC does not come into the picture at all.
but in Case of wired VM NIC has to go via Host NIC.

I managed to do that with a VM and a host, both authenticating in wired, behind a phone. The host would receive an ACL limiting its traffic to just internet and the VM could access the internal network. (do not ask to discuss the use case).
The considerations were that :
both host and VM would need to be on the same dynamically assigned VLAN, as 2960/3750 do not support two DATA domain hosts in different vlans (3850 apparently supports or will support it), so I had to have 802.1X both on host and in VM.
the VSwitch in VMworkstation had to be in bridge mode.
authentication mode multiauth had to be enabled in the interface in order to cope with multiple authenticated sessions behind the same interface.

But, your question is relatively simple. You will need to use standard Windows networking to access data from the host machine. Depending on your version of Hyper-V, connecting to it via RDP from the host machine can use the RDP client's ability
to access the host drives also.

I have a Time Capsule set up 802.11n (5Ghz only). iMac, MacBook & New Airport Express all connected to its network. Transmit rate is 270.
My question is, if my iPod Touch is g rated only, then how can the Remote App control my Airtunes if it cannot connect to my N network. Because it is.

My Time Capsule is connected to my Netgear (g only) router via ethernet.
I have the router broadcasting a g network for my iPod Touch. The Macs & AAE or all connected wirelessly to my Time Capsule N-only Network.
So the Touch should not be able to connect to my Airport Express as I understand it.

I Configured Wired and computer only 802.1x authentications on all my switch and client on my network ,It works without any problem .
I have user logon script to change local administrator password each time they log on ,I recently find out they boot with light cd and change the administrator password and unplug the lan cable boot the system and login with new administrator password after
that they plug lan cable , as they computer account is valid in active directory they are authorized and access the LAN .
they bypass some group policy by this way,
how can I force 802.1x wired client computer to plug lan cable during boot and login process in order to prevent bypass user login group policy ?

Hello,
you can disable CD/USB with GPO settings to prevent the use from it.
And for the change from the local admin password you should consider that the CEO of the company should make clear policies so users can legally be punished if they don't work with the company rules.
You can manage lot of settings with scripts etc. BUT there is a time where the CEO is responsible about rules.

That is not a practically empty xinitrc - that file only needs one line: exec WM. Other things are entirely optional, and some of them very useful, but I'd encourage you to stick with the simplest xinitrc that will do what you require.
Is slim involved? Probably. That is the source of many problems. But to start narrowing this down, I have 3 suggestions:
1) temporarily (at least) change your inittab to default to runlevel 3 ... actually, is it currently set to 5 or 3? if it is currently 3 that would explain why slim doesn't start.
2) at a tty in runlevel 3 use "xinit" instead of "startx". Startx is fine most of the time, but it is essentially just a complex wrapper for xinit. That complexity can often iadd useful functionality, but it *always* makes troubleshooting more difficult. So for now just use a vanilla 'xinit'.
3) remove dbus-launch from your exec line in xinitrc. This is done by console-kit so it is redundant and potentially problematic. Further BOTH of these are taken care of by slim, so I'd even suggest getting both a jump start on being ready for slim and simplifying troubleshooting by removing both of them. Just make that line "exec openbox-session"
Edit: adding one more:
4) temporarily switch out openbox-session for openbox. I suspect the reason feh's setting of the background is getting overridden is due to a script or setting in openbox's autostart settings - many of these are only invoked when "openbox-session" is called, while "openbox" starts *just* the window manager itself.

Accessing physical floppy disk drive from Windows 8.1 host machine to Windows XP SP3 hyper-v?

Could someone help up me? I just wanted to ask if it's possible for a hyper-v to access a physical "floppy diskette" drive?
Here's my setup: I have a Windows 8.1 as my host and Windows XP SP3 as the virtual machine. I would need to access the contents of the physical floppy diskette drive from the Windows XP SP3 vm. This is needed, because, currently our customer is still using
floppy disk drives, to most of their in-house applications. I tried to open Drive A: inside Windows XP SP3 VM while the physical diskette from the Windows 8.1 is inserted. But then again, it cannot directly access the contents. Also, I tried to use "virtual
floppy drives" and copy the files from the diskette. But for some reason, their applications do not support it. I did check device manager in Windows XP SP3 vm, but i cannot see the "Universal Serial Bus Controllers" option inside the VM.

Using Migrations Assistant will only move the data and other things over, it will not bring over a previous version of the Os since the 2014 model can run anything earlier than Yosemite.

Having multiple Node manger process in a single host machine.

I am using weblogic server(portal)10.2.
I am running the Node Manager to start the admin server.I have installed Java based Node manager in the host machine .Created a unix id ND1 and started the Node Manager utiliy with this id.
I keep on creating domain for my new applicaitons and add this ND1 in each new domain group,so that ND1 will access the new domain's admin folder.
Now when I add this ND1 in more than 16 domain groups,I got trouble in accessing the domain folder.In unix OS there is group membership limitation where a unix id cannot be in more than 16 groups.
Anyone came acroos this issue?

1) Can we have multiple node manager ids(ND1,ND2,ND3..etc) for a single Node manager utility in single host?
2) While starting the server,will node manager look only the nm_password.properties file in domain folder?

You can boot multiple Node Managers if you change the NodeManager home. To do that, create a directory for each NodeManager and copy the startNodeManager script to it. Then edit the NODEMGR_HOME, LISTEN_ADDRESS, and LISTEN_PORT

Hi,
I am working on an host machine (windows 7, LabVIEW RTE 2010, VAS 2010 (evaluate version)) with an application created on another machine (Windows XP, LabVIEW 2010, Vision Development Module 2011).
This application is supposed to aquire an image by a USB camera.
When I run this application on the development machine, it works fine.
On the host machine, I can see my camera with MAX and do whatever I want to do with MAX.
When I run the application on the host machine, the application starts but when it is supposed to use the camera I got thes error (see attached file).
I tried to uninstall and reinstall all Lab'VIEW"s softwares but I still have this issue...
Any idea will be appreciated!

First and foremost, it is excellent that you are now up and running!
In what concerns your question, do you mean to continuously see the image displayed in a live feed and only save it when the user clicks a button or some such? What do you mean with only using IMAQdx VIs? Would it refer to not using the IMAQ For USB VIs?
If you would desire to take in images from the camera and display them in a live feed, you could simply set up an IMAQdx acquisition and either use the Grab or the GetImage VIs and have a case structure in which you decide whether or not to save the image that was just displayed (or the next one that will be taken).
I did a tad of research and came across the following forum post; in it, another user posted a VI that might be of service to you, for it saves images into a tiff file.

Finally, if you would mean using only IMAQdx VIs and not IMAQ, then I do not believe it is possible simply because the vision utilities (Such as creating the image memory location) will be part of the IMAQ palette.

Signal express LE on host machine

Hi,
I'm having a problem with an application I built.
I want to control my tektronix power supply with Signalexpress LE on a host machine.
LabVIEW is not installed on this machine but I have installed LabVIEW run-time.
All others application I built work fine on my host machine.
I barely can't control my power supply on this host machine...
My application is fine because it's working on my development machine.
Is there any software to install on a host machione to make my application work?

Just to make sure I understand the case. You built a project that communicates with a Tektronix power supply in Signal Express. Now you want to deploy that project to another computer that only has the run-time engine installed? What do you mean by barely can control?

Invoke windows sound recorder in host machine by flex application

I have a flex application which provides option to invoke
windows sound recorder in client machine. User provides path of
windows sound recorder exe file and using 'navigateToURL('path of
recorder given by user)' method i plan to invoke the recorder in
client machine.
While executing this code in flex builder it runs properly
and invokes recorder. Then i deployed the flex application in a
server and requested using internet explorer. But this time it does
not invoke recorder. The error messge it displayed is gi ven below
SecurityError: Error #2148: SWF file

I think it is a security issue of sand boxes. Anyway i tried
to make the directory where exe file is kept (ie. system32) as a
trusted location using 'Global security settings panel'. But that
also did not solve the problem. I think only swf files, not any
other files, in the trusted local directories can be accessed by
the remote flex application. Is it right ???
Anyway i dont wish to keep any swf file under
'local-with-filesystem' sandbox in client machine.
Can anybody please help me to resolve this issue please ....

The problem is I am not able to connect to database (11i/R12) from host machine. I am successfully able to run the application from host machine after putting entry in "hosts" file.What is the error?
To connect to database I have installed Oracle 9i client on host machine and put the entry in TNSNAMES.ORA generated by 11i/R12, but even doing so I am not able to connect to database.Are you able to tnsping the entry? If not, what is the error?
Please make sure you also follow the steps in (Note 291897.1 - 11.5.10 New Features : Managed SQL*Net Access from Hosts).
Is there any way I can connect to database (Installed on VMWARE) from HOST Machine.Post the error you get when you connect to the database remotely as well as the output of tnsping command.

Using Network 4.5.1 on Windows Server 2012 R2     (Virtual machine) and C#
The server receive connections from external devices, more than 1200 simultaneously.
After the connection has been received, the TLS1.2 encryption is used.
This works fine most of time, except (over weekends), it seems , when the external connection 3G is dropped and many of the external devices. Then about 200-500 of the external devices fails to connect while the remaining 600 stays connected.

Each ssl stream is dispose of when closed.
This is the only exception of with inner exceptions I get. No events are logged in the event log.

If this exception occurs in the “AuthenticateAsServer” method, since the .NET team opens the source, you could check this blog:

function, in that custom library, adding the log trace logic so that if there is exception occurring, you just need to check the log.

Permissions for host machine

hello,
I like to improve my applet so that it access a Server program via a client/server system.
I am thinking I should just write my own Server program and just open a socket to it on some port. I have two questions,
1) How do I set the proper permissions on my Host machine so the applet can connect to the Server program from elswhere on the Internet?
2) What would be the pro's and con's of using a Applet/Servet combo to do this? Or does Applet/Servlet not work like Client/Server?

Hi,
No permissions are required. All you need is a ServerSocket listening on some port. The only requirement is that the Applet must be connecting back to the server it came from. The browser's security mechanism will not allow the applet to connect to any other server unless it has a security certificate and the user gives permission.
I prefer the applet/servlet combo. The only difficulty is in maintaining state on the server side but you can do that through the data you pass back to the server. Also, with the applet/servlet communication there is no browser security limitation on connecting to a different server than the applet came from.

Vision EXEcutable does not work on host machine (missing subVIs)

I am working on LabVIEW 10 / vision 11. I am making a VI to take a picture with USB camera and I built this application to create an executable.
This executable works fine on my computer (which has LabVIEW installed) but does not work on other a host machines.
I tried to run this application on another computer with LabVIEW installed and it worked fine.
On host machines, it keeps telling me that I have missing subVIs (only vision subVIs !!). All my other executables without vision VIs work fine...
Do I need a license on my host machine to run my executable?
Do you have any other idea?

On a target machine, you need the LabVIEW runtime engine and a the Vision Acquisition Software installed to run an executable. The LabVIEW runtime engine doesn't cost anything but you still need to pay for the license of Vision Acquisition Software.
