802.1X on Nokia 800

Hi,
I would like to get detailled informations about the Nokia 800 802.1x supplicant. First, what are the EAP methods available ? EAP-TTLS-PAP/CHAP ? EAP-PEAP-MsChapV2 ? Then, if they are available, are we enable to uncheck the server certificate (I use auto-signed certificate on my Radius server).
Thanks,

Hi,
We are trying to make working PEAP on Nokia N800 (without certificate), that doesn't work!

  • Nokia 800 pairing bluetooth

i have a nokia 800 and i want to use a bluetooth headset to listen to music. how do i pair it? it shows the headset number but nothing out of the headset

You don't mentioned what brand of bluetooth headset you have, if it is from Nokia. It will not work unless paired! There are compatiblity problem regarding bluetooth devices so make sure the devices are listed or tested for compatibilty. Being able to pair it does not mean all features of the phone regarding voice call & music player will work!
Basically, turn on the headset, then enabled your phone bluetooth & scan for other devices, once you see your HeadSet(In Nokia the model of headset), just select it, & you will be prompted to press a code or something. Read the manual of your headset, sometimes you have to press something there also as confirmation !Message Edited by android on 06-Nov-200708:41 AM

  • Nokia 800 GPS not working

Hello all.  I have a NOKIA 800 with the latest updates (Windows 7.8) that has problems with the GPS.  It was all working fine until about three weeks ago.  I had the handset replaced under warranty (through Vodafone) as it looked like a hardware problem but the same problem exists in the new one.  Nokia Drive can't get a proper fix of where I am so the directions don't work.  I then tried Navigon Europe and this can't find a GPS signal either although if I go into 'GPS info' it does show coordinates and I've also left it outside in line of the open sky for an hour to see if it could get a fix that way (without success).  As I say, it all worked fine a few weeks ago so I'm a bit stumped as to what the problem is.  Does anyone have any ideas ?

omg.. thank you..  i thought im the only one who face the same problem..
nokia~  please fix this problem fast. i really need gps funtions~

  • Nokia 800 no Automatic Replies option for Outlook

I have 30 users all with brand new Lumia 800's. We have found the option to set an Outlook “Out of Office” message or automatic reply is missing. From what I have managed to ascertain this should be an option in the Outlook settings below the Synchronisation Settings bar.
Does anyone know why the Nokia Lumia 800 seems to be missing this very useful function?
I have added a photo of the aforementioned screen
    Thanks

Quite frankly I think this is an option which is (and should be) on the office PC and not on the phone which should IMO the reason you do not set the OOO message in the first place.
It is an option of the Outlook application and not so much of the mailclient (which is 'just' a part of Outlook)

  • Nokia 800 auto lock screen

Is there any way to disable auto screenlock?
    It only has 4 time periods, 30s, 1m, 3m and 5m.
Other Windows phones allows off, so it seems Nokia has done this by design.
This is an extremly annoying feature if driving where I listen to music from the phone through the sterro, if I want to skip a song I have to unlock first which is distracting and dangerous instead of simply swiping.
I can understand it can save battery but when it's plugged in this isn't an issue, plus I lock my phone when I put away anyway.
This is a design feature which is forced on us instead of allowing us to choose for ourselves.
Os there anyway this can be changed in a future update.
As I said other windows phones like HTC HD7 never had this so its not the OS.
It also does it while using maps with navigation, which is useless, it doesn't seem to do it with Nokia drive though.

This seems to be an issue with Windows Phone. On my Nokia Lumia 800 I also don't have the 'never' option. However, my friend has the exact same phone and he DOES have that option. The only difference I can think of so far is that I use a password to unlock the screen and he doesn't. In that case it is kind of logical that the 'never' option is missing when you require a password to use the phone. However, even when I disable the password, the 'never' option does not return...
For me it is an issue during my running work out with the Sports Tracker app. When running, I don't want to enter a password each time I need to check the status in the app. So before I start running, I disable the password and set the screen lock to it's max of  5 minutes but I still find it very annoying that I have to swipe away the screen lock before I can see my running stats.
I search the internet high and low and find many posts in forums from people with the same issue, but no post at all that actually confirms this is a bug or 'expected' behavior.
Also not encouraging, I also found this post that says this issue also exists in Windows Phone 8.
During my search I also found the official Windows Phone Forum here.
And you may want to give your vote to this idea about this the screen lock issue.

  • Nokia 800: issues while recharging

I am the happy owner of a brand new 800 and I really like it.
Alas, I use "WhatsApp" a *LOT* but it eats battery power like hell.
I'd not mind too much, as most of the time I can recharge the machine all of the time. The problem is: I cannot USE it while I am recharging!
If the screen gets blocked, I have to detach the recharger and turn the phone off and on in order to be able to unlock it.
Then, when I want to do something, the touch screen seems to be completely pooched while recharging. No touch screen issues normally though, just while recharging.
    Any ideas, solutions, workarounds?

    Hi,
    which charger are you using?
    The included one?
If I try to use different Nokia charger (eg. for older Nokia phones) with my Lumia 800 I have same issue like blocked touchscreen and so on.
I tried this older Nokia charger also on HTC Windows phone and experienced same blocking behavior, so I guess older Nokia charger don´t work with Windows Phone...

  • Nokia 800 screen is loose

Hello everybody! I am travelling around Australia and last new year something happened with my lumia 800. Before it completely broke down I realized like a week or so before that when I press the screen harder it moves from left to right. Then this one day the screen would not accept or notice any touch to it. Friends could still call to it but it was impossible to answer. Then the battery died and since then there hasn't been any life on this bloody phone. When plugging it to a computer I get the USB plugged sound and the phone might vibrate for a while. When plugging it to a charger the phone vibrates but nothing appears on the screen. Tried to do the resets and that's when the phone vibrates and I get some weird green/white stripes on the bottom of the screen but that's all. The phone seems to be charging as it gets a bit hot as it used to. Contacted Nokia and they said there is no way to get it fixed here in Australia under warranty as it's bought in Finland. Thing is that shipping the phone back there costs more than buying a new one.
Does anyone else have similar problems with their phone? And does anyone know how this could be fixed by myself? Since the phone still reacts when plugged in to computer/charger.

Oh, btw. The smartphone works good all in all.
The touchabilities isn't damaged or anything.
everything works as before only that the screenpanel needs to be in socket again

    Hi itsdacky,
Thanks for posting and welcome to the forum.
Please visit a Nokia Care Point to have your device checked. You may also offer your device for repair by a Nokia Repair Centre (where available). Nokia Care would be able to inform you of warranty conditions as these may be different between regions. They can be reached by phone, mail or chat (where available). You will find contact information though this link.
    Hope this helps,

  • NOKIA 800 Lumia 'Location Area not Allowed'

I have noticed that when the phone receives a message that the Location Area is not allowed by a FEMTO Cell (made by HUAWEI) its display says that there is no signal strength at all and that only emergency calls are allowed. Actually the phone is working normally and it can make and/or receive calls or connect to the internet. Other phones do not appear to have this problem. Please check and update firmware. I have tested 3 Lumia 800 and all of them have the same behaviour under the aforementioned circumstances.

The Lumia 800 does have very robust scratch resistant glass which is fine under most conditions. Saying that, I have heard of 2 instances of scratched displays. The scratches are in the coating and doesn't actually go into the glass itself and only visible when angled to the light.
Personally I don't have a screen protector on neither the Lumia nor the N9 at the moment but I have tried a few. Problem is the curved edge and the swiping. Most of them come off at the edges after a while and then dust gets underneath. There was one very cheap one that I got from ebay which worked the best. It was very soft and thin and scratched so easily but still came off after a week and a half so haven't used any since. If you are really worried about scratches, a better bet might be to get a proper full case but you would be hiding what is probably the best looking phone currently on sale.

  • Nokia 800 lumina windows id service unavailable

    Hello Guys,
Just got a 800 lumina, gets email, outlook setup ok but just cant connect to Windows live , just gets "The windows Live ID service is unavailable. Try again later".
Got onto my pc and verified what i was typing regarding user name and password is correct. Even used the browser on phone to verify the account, but from xbox live account app directly no chance.
From settings i see the windows live account, says attention required, retyped everything, starts to sync but then says attention required.
    Just drivin me bonkers...
    Thanks

    Hi bjaytech,
The mentioned error usually stems from an instable or bad network connection or an issue with the LiveID servers themselves. It is not an issue with the Lumia. If you continuously receive this error I suggest you contact Microsoft support on this issue.
Let us know how you get on,

  • Vonage for Nokia 800 Internet Tablet

    Hello all,
Has anyone tried to use N800 with a Vonage account? I would like to know that before I get one.
Thank you very much in advance,
    Giannis

I updated my N800 late last year and i was able to find the OS2008 update and update using the nokia Internet Tablet Suite update wizard, or whatever it was called lol. Google is your friend here, but it was on the official Maemo repository if thats any consolation.

  • Nokia 800 Lumia Sound Issues

About a week ago I found that when removing the headphone jack from my Lumia (I use it as an MP3 player in the car) that the music would continue to play although it did so silently!
It also appears that, although my morning alarm clock sounds as expected, if I try to play music, it is silent.  Also text is coming through in vibration mode.
I previously solved this issue by running the diagnostics.  As soon as I reached the section on sound, it all came back to life.
Not sure what sounds work and what sounds don't, I've highlighted the ones for certain.
Another thing I have noticed is that the screen does not always turn off after a few seconds when I set off some music through the jack and put the phone down.
Does this behaviour sound familiar to people?  Should I be worried?  Can I fix it?

What exactly is this "white plastic" and why are you able to see the back of your screen?
