808 Email link Loading Sound Annoying

I don't understand why the phone needs to beep when clicking a link inside an email that launches the web browser.
It is annoying when I check my email at night or in a quiet place and it beeps repeatedly. Does anyone know if there is a way to disable it? A simple loading icon would suffice.

If it is the beep I think you mean
Menu - settings - profiles - long press on the profile and choose personalize, then scroll down and turn "Warning Tones" off.

HELP! Exporting pdf issues - no email links and gray boxes around text

I'm a newbie to indesign, and trying to learn the program as I go. I need to export my pdf for onscreen viewing. When I "print" it works, but I get no email links, and those annoying white lines here and there. I read that exporting would solve the email link issue, but it opened another can of worms for my project. Now all my graphics have black or gray boxes across them, almost like censor boxes. But my email links work.
Learning Adobe is like learning a new language, and I have far from mastered it. So when I exported, I used the lowest resolution presets, assuming it knew what worked better than I did. After dozens of unsuccessful exports, can someone please help??
Also, I've been reading posts that say to convert all spots to color to resolve the white line issue. But it's grayed out in the ink manager. What is the secret to unlock it?

I have CS5.5, running on windows 7. It is up to date as of 1 month ago. Here's a sample of my problem pages. Also, a screen shot of what it should look like. My guess is it has something to do with the transparencies, since it's 2+ layers of embossed objects. If I export in Acrobat 4 (1.3) these boxes don't happen. But then I get the thin white lines across my graphics, and no email links. As for spot colors, I confess complete ignorance on all color issues, but I'm trying to learn as I go. How can I export this correctly?

Why can't I load email links sent in emails to me on iphone mail account

Hi everytime I try and load email links sent in emails to me on iphone, I keep getting an option to mail it pop up when I press the link or an error message comes up saying "safari cannot download this file"!! This has only started happening the last few days as I could load or download everything emailed to me before that!! Please help me as its doing my head in!! Thanks

Settings>Safari>Clear cookies and data.
Double tap the Home Button, hold down an app, press the little x to remove Safari from multitasking bar.
Open Safari and try again.

With no Firefox window open, I can't launch a new one. Or click on an email link and launch a window. This started when I upgraded to 5. Now I downgraded to 4 again and problem persists

I upgraded to Firefox 5, then noticed when a window was open I couldn't launch another one. Or launch into Firefox off an email link. Or open a new window if there was none open.
So I downgraded back to 4. Problem persists.

Uninstall the ones you know about, yes.
As regards the others, it's difficult to say. All you can do is to disable them all via Safe Mode (checkmark "Disable all add-ons", then "Make changes and restart") and then re-enable them one by one checking each time until the problem recurs. Laborious I know, but the only sound way of doing it I'm afraid.

When I click on an email link it opens in the email window instead of opening a new window, how to get it to open a new window instead

It's Comcast email, most links are to articles from the Wall Street Journal. Lately an email from Charles Schwab broker with a link to a pdf file has been doing the same. When I click on the link, it opens within the email frame, which is about 1/3 filled up with the toolbar, mailboxes, headings etc. If it opens with 2 bars on the right side to move down, I can see the whole article, but often it opens with only one bar on the right side which will not let me get all the way to the end of the page.
It's been happening for several weeks. I got a new computer and it's still happening. Comcast sounds like they've never heard of it. Most recently happened today. I tried the same email link with IE and it opened a new window.

Firefox sent an email to me to confirm that I had asked the above question. The email had a link to click. When I clicked it from Firefox, nothing happened. Then I opened IE, signed into Comcast, opened the email, clicked the link, and it brought me here.

E71 how to remove setup email link from main page

Recently got a E71 - very pleased with it.    Have installed nokia email and exchange mail - all working fine.   I ended up with 2 "setup email" links on the main page. One i could select and hide, the other I cannot.   When ever i boot the phone it trys to start the email setup wizard by default.     I notice from installations I can remove the email setup - will this affect existing mail accounts and would this mean I can't set up any new accounts in the future?
surely there must be an easy way to remove the icon.    I tried deselcting the wizard from the Modes -> home screen application page but it just comes back after a few minutes.

i found another solution for removing the email setup link on the homepage (still have the wizard start on boot).
MENU -> MODES -> HOME SCREEN APPLICATIONS ->enabled applications -> untick Intellisync
the email setup icon now dissapears on my E71.
I can't find a decent explanation of what intellisync actually does, but all my email is working as before.
To be honest i could probably just remove the set up program as I won't ever need to add another email account..
just thought I'd post this anyway."

Firefox wont open email links

Whats the deal with version after version of new firefox and you guys have still not fixed the problem with clicking on email links and nothing happens.

Adware is not a virus. It's simply annoying and intrusive. Virus software is not going to help you stop this new plague on computer users.
Whenever you download an installer it could be wrapped with adware. Check carefully when installing. You have to uncheck to not install the extensions that are added.

When I click an email link it opens a new tab but it doesn't show the website, I have to click "ALLOW" first. How do I set it to show automatically??

This started happening after a recent update, I'm running FF 16. It's very annoying when I check 10 emails at a time. Can I get it back to the way it used to be, opening websites from email links automatically. I don't need the added security as I have WOT and KIS installed.

Email link pops up window in IE

I have selected text and used the mailto:[email protected] link to
create an email link. I have tried static text and dynamic text and
in IE, the mail client pops up, but so does an annoying window with
"Navigation to Website was cancelled". It seems to work really well
in Windows version Safari. Is there any way of getting rid of this
extra window?

Yes, simplicity was the solution! I had been staring at the
files for too long and couldn't see the forest through the trees! I
know that I had used both the behaviors panel and manual
actionscript. Perhaps I had forgotten to erase one of them. Anyway,
it's fixed and I'm happy!
I don't have tons of experience in other coding, but I
believe that _blank is an html code and so wherever you would use
html such as in the actionscript, you would have the same issues. I
could be wrong about that, though!

How can I choose ringtones instead of pre-loaded sounds for alarms

I have a bunch of questions. First, how can I choose ringtones (my last phone had a category called "tones") and other purchased sounds instead of the pre-loaded sounds for my alarms, text message alerts, etc.? Thanks.

Apple no longer sells ringtones... Besides you never needed to buy them because they're easy to make! All you need is DRM free music (burned from cd, iTunes +). Read this link for instructions:

"Email link" option changes font to "Times New Roman" at end of the URL in Outlook

When using the "Email link" option in Firefox, it then calls Outlook, then inserts the title of the webpage, as well as the URL. This is a handy feature that I have been using for years, but has always had an annoying bug.
The URL in the body of the message conforms with Outlook's settings (font is Calibri 11 for me), but then Firefox also adds a space at the end of the URL, which is formatted in Times New Roman 12. I have gone through every template and setting Outlook and checked for TNR. It is nowhere to be found. This is something that Firefox is doing, and has been doing for many, many years (at least as far back as version 3.6, all the way to 17, which I'm running now.

Seems obvious now, just added the css class to the body div.

Email Link problem

I'm using Dreamweaver 8, when I insert an email link it is
already populated with an email address which is becoming really
annoying!
Does anyone know how to clear this?

Yeah it does that to me too - but I never use the "insert
-> email link" method. Just type out what you want displayed,
highlight the text, and in the "link" field enter
"mailto:[email protected]" (minus the quotes of course).
Perhaps someone else knows how to "clear" the text in
question, but I have the feeling it's a feature ;-)

Firefox won't launch entourage email from email link on website. I'm on Mac OS 10.6.8

It amuses me that the email that was sent to confirm the posting of this question had a clickable link. Naturally that link did not work. Cutting and pasting it into FireFox allowed me to complete the posting process. Annoying.

When I use "Email link" in Firefox, the Outlook message default formatting changes (font, font size, paragraph spacing) - how can I stop this from happening?

In Outlook, my default message format includes the following:
Font: Arial 10pt font
Spacing: Before: 0pt, After: 0pt
When I email a link from Firefox, a new message opens, which has the following formatting:
If I type anything before the URL, the formatting is:
Font: Arial 10pt font
Spacing: Before: 0pt, After: 0pt
If I type anything after the URL, the formatting is:
Font: Times New Roman 12pt font
Spacing: Before: Auto, After: Auto
This doesn't happen with Internet Explorer - when emailing a link, my default message format is retained.
Since I email a lot of links for my job, and I prefer to use Firefox, this is a pretty annoying issue!
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

From Firefox, I click on "File' and then 'Email link'.
This results in a new Outlook message opening automatically, with the URL copied into the body of the message.
I then add my own text, see the screenshot image. That's where the formatting problems come in!

I use Earthlink mailbox, and I want my email links to open with Firefox, but they open with Internet Explorer; how to fix?

I am using Windows XP 2002 operating system; Earthlink mailbox program for email with AT&T Broadband.
I want to have Firefox as my default browser, but my email links open with Internet Explorer. I have followed the Firefox help page to set Firefox as my browser, but the problem remains.
Do you know how to fix this? Is it a problem with Earthlink?

I have Microsoft Outlook also with Firefox and can open just about every link, url, company page, etc via the email links. First, make sure you have noted the email as NOT JUNK so that the links are activated by Outlook. Second, Firefox needs to your default browser for the links to open in Firefox rather than IE. There are some links from Microsoft that may ignore the default and open in IE but not all anymore. I have a Sony laptop which ignores the default browser and opens all of its support information from its VAIO software loaded on the computer in IE. Besides that though, over 95% of my items will open in my default brwser selection, which is currently Firefox.
