808 pureview Update 113.010.1508

This update is causing my windows 8 pc to BSOD (blue screen of death) during the firmware installation after the phones first USB disconnect i get a BSOD stating a kernel failure and then the pc shuts down
The first time it happened i had thought something went wrong with my computer elsewhere and i was worried that my phone may have been bricked (luckily it hadn't)
Upon my second attempt at installing the update I noted the cause and exact moment of failure
I'm running Nokia Suite 3.6.36 btw
fully updated Windows 8 and I have all background programs turned off including my anti-virus when attempting to update

okay so i sort of "fixed" my issue i was connected to my usb 3.0 slots when i had the problems and so i tried one of my usb 2.0s and i was able to update successfully
guess its an issue with the connecting/disconnecting on usb3.0? anyway everythings working fine now

  • Nokia 700: Update: 113.010.1506

    Hi all Nokia fans!
Using Nokia Suite I was informed to upgrade to the version: 113.010.1506.
I decided it also has time the clearn out a number of old app's - sp I made a full clearnup and reset,
using the standard menu function (first I did make a backup!!!)
After this - I made the upgrade - just seeing that now all applications I want to install from nokia market
fails to install. Both using Wifi direct or using the function in nokia Suite.
There is  not other error message on the mobile than "installation fail"..
How can this go wrong - on a clearn version of the mobile??
    Thanks for helping out :-)
    Regards
    Jan
    Solved!
    Go to Solution.

    Hi Jan,
I wonder if Nokia Suite messed up the phone during the update? ... It wouldn't be the first time, unfortunately. Now that Nokia has made the "Nokia Software Recovery Tool" available to customers, I recommend using that instead. It worked great for both the C7, N8 Symbians and my new Lumia. It downloads and performs a clean flash of the latest available firmware for the phone:
    http://www.nokia.com/us-en/support/software-recovery/
The phone behaves as brand new after that, and any data will have to be restored from backups. This approach is also great if you're going to sell or give the phone away, since it restores to an out-of-the-box state. (Remove the SIM before flashing if you sell the phone).
There will be some additional updates after connecting the phone to Nokia Suite, or when checking for updates on the phone itself, and the Store may want to update itself when entering the store for the first time.
I hope you get it sorted out. Please let's know how it goes.

  • Nokia 808 s/w version: 113.010.1506 bugs

1)Red eye feature is not at all working while editing an image.
2)nokia music player for many songs the seek option wont be availble so i cant seek into middle of the song.
3)there is no way to send the images from gallery directly via bluetooth.
    4) no proper updates.
5)camera phone without any photo editing options

As 808PV is the last Symbian device now out of production, it would be unrealistic to expect any further updates. That said whilst upon 113.010.1508 don't get such issues sending from Gallery via Bluetooth
and although beyond the remit of this manufacturer's sponsored forum, it is feasible to get the old Photo and Video editors back if so desired:

  • Help. My Nokia 808 PureView Proximity sensor probl...

Hello. I just wanted to ask if my problem with the proximity sensor on my brand new Nokia 808 PureView not locking my phone when in a call even if my ear or my finger blocks the sensor is a Firmware/Software-related or a Hardware-related problem? It's not a big issue but i just wanted to know.
PS: It has no screen protector covering the sensor.
Please I need your expert advice. So that if it's really a hardware-related I can send it to the Nokia Care Center. And if its a software/firmware-related then I'll just wait for the update.
And thank you for having the time reading my post/query and answering.

  • The future Nokia OS update for Nokia 808 PureView ...

Warm regards to the Nokia family and all members out here!
Ive been a Nokia fanboy for the last 5 years, and have bought most of the smartphones produced by our very own Nokia. India is a very good market for Nokia, but since the past few years, people are just moving towards other platforms for some reason(s)..
Having said that, I would like to inform you that I bought the Nokia 808 PureView Cameraphone recently, and im enjoying the overall experience, though, I would like to give some of my suggestions for the future Nokia (Symbian) OS with a view to better it as a complete smartphone OS and lessen the number of unsatisfied customers. So, without wasting any more time, I'll come to the point straight away. Below are my opinions that ive summarized-
1.) For a better visual experience:
         - Horizontal scrolling in menu is highly recommended as its simply more practical and easy-to-use.
         - An option for changing wallpapers while changing HS (homescreen) or setting a single widescreen wallpaper that scrolls in every HS would be a welcome addition.
         - Size of icons in menu should be reduced to around half of the current size in FP1.
         - Simpler and faster theme effects.
         - The pop up menu (when 'options' is pressed) while being in the landscape screen orientation (in any app) should be  worked upon so that it populates more options while covering a lesser part of the screen.
         - The bounce back effect of tkinetic scrolling in some apps, like browser for instance, shold be reduced or disabled.
2.) For better apps and overall experience:
         - App open and close delay should be minimized
         - App installation time (specially QT apps) needs a reduction..
         - the browser needs a major update with full support of flash and improvements in pan & zoom functionality.
         - Im satisfied with the number of apps available, so this is not an issue with me
         - The qwerty keyboard responsiveness and key positioning needs an improvement. Ive compared it to other OSes myself and found out that I made less errors on those..
As im short of time, thats it for now. Hope you guys at nokia take this as a positive feedback and work towards improving the overall experience of THE BEST CAMERAPHONE ON PLANET, ie, THE NOKIA 808 PUREVIEW (and other capable hardware phones).
    Thanx,
    Varun Paul

Hello…I own an 808 PureView device. At the outset, I must congratulate you for creating such a marvelous device. It’s in all dimensions a brilliant Smartphone and has no major lags except a few which I would like to mention as suggestions to improve the general smoothness and usefulness of its User Interface (henceforth-UI).
The in-built gallery lacks ‘mark multiple items’ option which, if integrated, can be fruitfully used to delete or send multiple items though Bluetooth. Also, the in-built gallery lacks ‘renaming’ function which would otherwise be helpful in organizing the gallery items, and in giving custom names which are easy to remember and deal with.
The generic MUSIC PLAYER lacks the track/music search function from within the music player, and so, to search a song out of the vast collection, the user has to use the generic SEARCH application by exiting or minimizing the music player, which in itself is a cumbersome exercise. The search function, if integrated into the music player, will help a great deal in making the music experience really customized and precise as also time saving.
The in-built VIDEO editing options available in the video viewing dashboard are relatively much naïve and rudimentary as compared to PureView’s lesser predecessor, the N8. Now, since 808 is a full-fledged camera Smartphone, it is bit logical on part of the user to expect the video editing dashboard to be as efficient and complete as the photo editing dashboard of the same is.  Advance options like adding music clip can be added to the video editing console to mitigate the need of using any third party application to do so, and thus, it will further enhance the utility drawn from the cell-phone UI in terms of video editing and viewing.
The generic MESSAGING application has the default view as CONVERSATIONS view and manual selection every time is required to switch the view to FOLDERS mode. If there had been an option to make a choice in setting the folders view or the conversations view as default as per users convenience, it would have been again a smooth messaging experience.
To end up, the generic CONTACT application lacks the facility to edit the contact labels unlike the one which was available in S60 V3 devices (I owned N79 prior to owing 808 PureView and so I am well aware of this utility). Facility to edit the contact labels makes it easy to differentiate between multiple contact numbers of the same contact so as to have an ease of remembrance and clarity of use.
I earnestly hope that Nokia will incorporate some or all of these suggestions in the next-to-come firmware upgrade for Belle FP1 devices. These modifications/additions, if done and made, will make the Belle OS fully competent with its various other contemporaries as it just lacks these things but otherwise is a fluid and extremely useful OS. I request you to kindly pay due heed and consideration to my observations and work towards making the Belle OS an all-encompassing mobile platform. Thanking You.

  • Nokia 808 pureview- Any future updates for complet...

I saw the Nokia sample image in
    http://www.dpreview.com/news/2012/02/27/Nokia-808-PureView-with-41MP-sensor
how come the pictures can be in
    ISO 114 - 5.3MP, 16:9?
I thought they only have 5mp and ISO 100 or 200. How can I select 101~199 ISO.
    ISO 58 - 38.4MP
How can I also select 38.4mp?   custom setting?

You can select the 38 Megapixels resolution by going to the Camera Settings, go to Creative mode and choose full resolution instead of Pureview.
In full resolution, you can have two different Megapixels due to the 16:9 ratio and 4:3 ratio.
In 16:9 ratio, you'll get 34 Megapixels. While in 4:3 ratio, you'll get 38 Megapixels.
If I have helped you in any way, give me a kudos!

  • Geotagging option missing in 808 PureView

My Nokia 808 PureView does not have the option to turn on (or off) the geotagging.
The option "Save location info in Camera" in "Settings" never appears in the "Privacy" menu.
May I know if this feature is limited to certain area/variants only, or is it a bug?
The detail information of my Nokia 808 PureView is as follows:
    Custom: 113.010.1506.214.01

Perhaps this is due to region as your 808 is 059P5Q3: Nokia 808 RM-807 Country Variant Hongkong HK HKCV_White_v1_COLOR and you have the latest software available for it. Whether it is worth all the aggrevation of backing up data with Nokia Suite, resetting to "factory defaults" and re-installing existing device software I know not to achieve:

  • Arabic Language for Nokia 808 PureView US version

    Hi guys,
I got my new Nokia 808 PureView (US version) from amazon.com. I want to add Arabic language to it. Is there any way to do it?
    Thanks,

Yes there is. You will need to visit your local Nokia Care point and they will add the Arabic language pack to your phone. Be advised that the language pack will be removed in the event that you update the phone or perform a full factory reset.
Only Nokia Care can add the language packs because there is special software needed which only they legally possess.

  • Suggestions for 808 PureView and Symbian Belle

    Hi friends,
I am a proud owner of astounding (and worst marketed extra-ordinary device) 808 PureView. Biggest compliment to it is that it has replaced my SGS2. Yes, truly.
After using 808 for some time now I am quite happy but disappointed with certain things. Few things are so minor that I am surprised why Nokia removed it or didnt implement.
So here I am presenting a list of things which I would request Nokia to fix or implement. I will also request all of you here to add to the list so that Nokia gets a direct feedback and can improve the device and software. Thanks !
    Camera:
    1. Slow shutter speeds
    2. Full resolution in various Scenes modes
    3. Pics with AutoFlash mostly comes dark in edges in Indoors
    4. Slightly faster Auto-Focus with soft shutter button
    Gallery:
(I know about other thread but this is a consolidated list)
    1. Batch functions (send, share)
    2. Albums
    3. Folders
    4. Tabbed interface (All, Images, Videos)
    5. Sort by Date, Name, Type, Size, Location, etc.
    6. Send via NFC option (everybody does not read Manual )
    7. Ability to trim parts of video (and to join parts, if possible)

    4.  Additional Tab in Contact's view showing all communication with him/her (Calls, E-mails and Messages)
    5. Another optional Tab showing his/her last 5 Social updates
    Messaging:
    1. Tabbed interface (Conversations/Folders/(optionally) E-Mails)
    2. Forward icon alongside Reply icon
    3. Individual Contact's SMS\Email tone (such a little but practical feature)
    Telephony:
    1. Detailed Call log (Settings>Extended View)
    2. Video Call button
    E-Mail:
    1. E-Mail Popups (probably with Reply option)
    2. Cleaner tabbed interface
    3. Pinch-to-Zoom and Wrap function
    4. Archive option in GMail mails
    5. Go to next email after deleting and not the Inbox (its really annoying)
    Videos:
    1. Large Thumbnail option
    2. Better support for Matroska (mkv)
    3. Better subtitle support (black fonts???)
    4. Options for Brightness and Contrast
    Music Player:
    1. Folders Tab
    2. Editable equaliser
I again request to provide suggestions and I will add them in OP (with your name). Lets help Nokia make great OS and Product even better. And in my experience, they have always seriously listened to their customers and brought the improvements.
    Good Luck !

Nokia thank you for last updates..the 808 is quite perfect now!!

    4. More smart use of Words Suggestions in T9 Mode..priority for shorter words!

    5. In conversation or with Whatsapp, in horizontal mode with QUERTY and Words Suggestions enabled, it's impossible to read the last messages during writing.
    6. much smaller text option
    7. in conversation view, the letter icon and the notification of a new message doesn't disapppear if you've only read the sms, without giving a reply! I suggest that a tap on the yellow letter icon on the right in conversation mode will change the sms status from unread to read

  • 808 Pureview - Camera & Phone Problems

I have a few problems with my 808.
Id love to hear from people with the same issues so i can confirm if my phone is faulty or if they all do this.
Camera problem (similar or maybe the same as discussed here - http://discussions.nokia.com/t5/Nseries-and-Symbian-Smartphones/808-Pureview-Bug-High-ISO-purple-tin... ), i get a strange red/purple colour on the right hand side of some of my pictures, low light without flash is very bad.
And the other day i discovered the same thing when taking pics in the snow using scenes with 'snow' selected, some kind of digital noise on the right side of the picture which makes the snow darker.
And more recently and far more worrying is the problem i suffer EVERY time im on the phone for over 2 hours, maybe heat related but im not sure. I play ps3 online a lot with my mates but i dont use the ps3 headset as it makes the games lag more, so i phone my mate and switch loud speaker on so we can talk about what we are doing in the game. Somewhere between 2 and 2 1/2 hours the phone will freeze completely and i have to take the battery out to fix it. Its strange because although the phone freezes im still able to speak and hear my mate, i just cant hang up or do anything else, and the phone gets pretty hot as well.
So are all 808 as bad as mine or should i take it back and try a replcement?

    hi mate,
have you checked via Nokia Suite if there are any firmware updates available for your device? if there are any, please update to the latest version offered. Failing that, you can try re-installing your current firmware thru Nokia Suite.
As for the phone over-heating, this may be an issue with the phone and its software. I cant remember the last time I was on the phone for over two hours, but in some cases my phone has turned off, but in some cases it has also stayed on. it is normal for the phone to generate that amount of heat after being used for a prolonged period of time. that isn't an issue in itself

  • NOOOOO! The symbian 808 pureview will not make it ...

Super sadface. Will it ever make it in Symbian form? Can I get one shipped over and have it work with my Att sim card??? Could someone from Nokia see this post and take pity on me and email me a way to get one... after all, now I'm going to have to tell all my iPhone friends, whom I bragged to, that I cannot get the 808. I'm going to be stuck with my, still superior, E7.

    http://www.esato.com/news/change-in-plans-for-nokia-808-pureview-availability-2286
Looks like Sweden is getting it thanks to popular demand from consumers & subsequently service providers. I'm sure microsoft would prefer not to have it available in its home base but I think if enough people showed their love for it, we would be able to get our hands on this wonderous Nokia Belle FP1 (Symbian Carla?) phone. I really dont know why everyone claims symbian to be a dead platform, my n8's battery is a fraction of the new Droid Razr and it lasts atleast as much if not longer on power saving mode thanks to the beautiful Belle. Sure Symbian Belle might not be as efficient as Anna, and some things undoubtedly crash once in a blue moon (nothing that a well formed update couldn't fix). But thats just because it was created for cellphones with twice the specs as my phone. And Belle is far far far far far far (you get the picture) more customizable than any other OS present. I mean on each home screen, I have icons alligned in a particular way for vertical view, & in another way for horizontal view; it's tuned to my finger's accessibility. You can't do that on an android (believe me I've tried). Yes, Symbian s^3 did suck! It sucked big time! But Anna's efficiency and Belle's beauty is unparalleled. & I really dont get why people don't see symbian for the modern future-ready OS it has become (Try fitting a 41 MP onto any of the other OSes, they'll surely crapp in their covers )
    -Cheers

  • Nokia 808 software update

my 808 pureview showing software update of 16mb...but it cant be installed neither by phone nor through nokia suite...

    Hi, mahiji.
Sorry to hear that you're having an issue updating the device's software. Can you tell us more about what happens when you try to update the phone? Is there any error message when doing the update via the Nokia Suite or via over the air? When you update the device's software by phone, did you use the in-device Software Update app? If yes, can your try to update the phone the other way by dialling the *#0000# > Options (3 lines) > Check for updates?
In addition to that, please consider below steps on how you can prepare for an update:
It is recommended that you create a backup before doing a software update using Nokia Suite.
When updating with the Software Update app, the size of an update package can be several megabytes, and therefore it is recommended that you use a Wi-Fi connection.
Check that your phone is set to the correct date and time. With a wrong date or time, your phone won’t be able to access the updates.
Before starting the update, make sure your phone has enough battery power. If the battery level is low, charge the battery before starting the update.
Make enough space on your phone for the update. If necessary, remove some apps or other large items.
Let us know how it will go.
