80gb classic screen flashes n wont connect to computer but can play threw a docking radio. says fully charged but it dies when disconected.

bought ipod used and screen flashes and wont lync to computer or car stereo threw cable. older classic does just fine with cable. i have a rigid work radio that has controls for ipod and the ipod plays, says its charged and i have all functions untill i disconect it from radio. then dead. i would like to save the music thats on it if possable.

Yes, once I 'safely remove from drive' the ipod works normally I can listen to my media, change settings and even reset it by pressing MENU+center button. During resetting it goes straight onto the screen showing the Apple logo and then retuns back to automatically synchronizing with the computer (since its still plugged in to the usb port) and i can go into itunes and play my media via laptop. What type of servicing are you referring to? Should I try buying a new battery or sending it to apple so they can figure it out?
Two things which happened yesterday which were sorta demoralizing:
1 After unplugging my ipod from USBport the screen would automatically go black, right after I would hit the PLAY button and would get the "Connect To Power" Warning screen but under very Low Backlight before shutting itself down again. You could hardly see it, but now it doesn't pop up at all or give me any type of warning just a BLACK screen, so the only way of getting the unit to do anything is via usb connection.
2. Also the day before I had fooled my ipod into being connected to the usb even though I was pulling the usb cable very slowly from underneath its adapter; sorta letting it touch the adapter but not really hooked up to it. Well I managed to get the cable off and my Ipod to work for less than 10 seconds but I was able to scroll down the Main and Playlist menus without any lag or lack of Backlight before it went out. I tried it once more and it didn't work plus I don;t see what the benefits of doing so would be @ this point. But having said that does anyone think it could be a simple battery issue or is this harddrive related? Again the Ipod only work swhen connected to my usb & tells me its fully charged, but once unplugged it goes completely blank...

Did the iOS device connect before?
Try the following to rule out a software problem:
    - Reset the iOS device. Nothing will be lost
Reset iOS device: Hold down the On/Off button and the Home button at the same time for at
least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
    - Power off and then back on your router
.- Reset network settings: Settings>General>Reset>Reset Network Settings
    - iOS: Troubleshooting Wi-Fi networks and connections
    - Wi-Fi: Unable to connect to an 802.11n Wi-Fi network
    - iOS: Recommended settings for Wi-Fi routers and access points
    - Restore from backup. See:
    iOS: How to back up
    - Restore to factory settings/new iOS device. Not clear if you did this type of restore
If still problem and it does not connect to any networks make an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store since it appears you have a hardware problem.

  • Ipad wont connect to computer

ipad wont connect to computer say ipad not turned on.

You have never been able to connect the iPad to any computer nor charge the iPad when connected to the included power adaptor?
If so, have you tried using a different USB dock connector cable to rule out a problem with the existing cable?
If yes with no change, the iPad and all package contents include a one year warranty. If you are in the U.S., you can call AppleCare or make an appointment at an Apple store if there is one nearby.

  • Iphone 4s wont connect to computer

This actually has gone on for a while now but now its almost a necessity because it seems to be the only way ...
my iPhone 4s will not connect to my computer since the 7.1.1 update, and to date at 8.0.?!?!?!?
i updated to 8.0 first day,
    i missed 8.0.1
i downloaded 8.0.2 and attempted to install
the first time i got stuck because i didn't have enough space. i hard reset and deleted a few apps.
i installed 8.0.2 to find my self with a recovery mode bricked iPhone 4s
i get an iTunes logo and a cord.
in my mind i thought " okay i just need to fix what ever is keeping it from connect to computer"
but i noticed the iTunes logo was Red and i freaked out.
if all is well then the red logo would mean i need to reset my phone, connect to iTunes etc. etc.
i'm fine with wiping my phone, but i cannot connect to my computer, or iTunes.
    BASICS
this problem runs with multiple cables
this problem runs on my computer ( i have not thoroughly tested such act on other computers, but I will tomorrow no doubt)
this problem cannot be fixed by changing my cable ( as the cable works with many other phones )
this problem is not affected by my operating system ( although i have not tested on a mac yet )
upon connecting to my laptop my phone will charge, windows will not detect my device as result calling upon error code 10 or 43
windows will not see my iPhone in device manager unless its called "unknown device"
when i plug my phone into the computer i do not get any sign of installing or searching for drivers
i get error code 10 when i attempt to manually install apple drivers
i have reinstalled iTunes 32 times without any problems
i have uninstalled all parts of iTunes and reinstalled from scratch 23 times
i know this problem revolves around the computer itself or the phone itself
i have not tested other apple products on the computer, but USB drives work flawlessly ( but take time to begin searching/installing drivers leading me to believe the problem revolves on the phones hardware )
this problem is not effected by iTunes version as i have tested the 3 latest versions
my warranty is void for being old lol
and i really think that your great mind(s) can help me resolve this problem
    THANKS IN ADVANCED

Well, it appears that you have the latest version of iTunes, as you report removing and reinstalling. Just make sure you are using the latest one.
The error codes you are reporting are Windows errors, not iPhone or iTunes errors, which makes me what to believe that you are having a computer issue. You can take a look at this support document for a little help with the iPhone driver, see step 5. http://www.apple.com/emea/support/itunes/contact.html
You again report an error when trying to manually install a driver, again this is a Windows error. You would need to search Microsoft for help with those.

  • HT4095 Hello.  I purchased two movies but don't have wifi.  Have connected to computer but do not know how to download. Keeps showing to connect to computer. Can someone assist.

    Good afternoon.
Purchased two movies but have no wifi on ipad.  Have connected to computer but ipad shows to connect before downloading.  Can someone assist to download movies from pc whilst ipad is connected.

    Hello Delia,
Thank you for the question.  It sounds like you are trying to sync movies to your iPad using iTunes.  The following articles provide steps on syncing your iPad with iTunes.
You can manage what movies sync to your iPad using the Movies tab when your iPad is connected and then clicking Apply when you have decided what movies to transfer:
I wasn’t sure if you were using a Mac or Windows computer, so I included the articles for each:
iTunes 11 for Mac: Set up syncing for iPod, iPhone, or iPad
    http://support.apple.com/kb/ph12113
iTunes 11 for Windows: Set up syncing for iPod, iPhone, or iPad
    http://support.apple.com/kb/ph12313
Once you sync your movies, they will appear in the Videos app on your iPad as described in the featured discussion below:
I forgot how to get a movie. I want to download it on the computer, sync it to the iPad. Then, I forget where it is, how I find it on the iPad to watch it.

Thank you for using Apple Support Communities.
