80gb iPod has less than 75gb capacity normal?

I just received my brand new 80gb iPod Video, which turns out to have only 74.37gb capacity. Is this "normal"? Should I send it back for a replacement? What's your iPod and the actual storage capacity? Thanks, L

80 gb @ 1000byte - marketing. :P
74,51 gb @ 1024byte - correct.
every HD manufacturer uses 1000byte instead of 1024byte on the label - it sounds like "more space".

  • WL 10.2 Current capacity less than Initial capacity

    Hi all,
Could you please share any ideas regarding situation below :
WL10.2 JDBC pool configured with “Initial capacity” = “Max capacity” = 50
When I checked status of a pool with “weblogic.Admin GET -pretty -type JDBCConnectionPoolRuntime” I got :
    ActiveConnectionsAverageCount: 1
    ActiveConnectionsCurrentCount: 3
    ActiveConnectionsHighCount: 34_
    CachingDisabled: true
    ConnectionDelayTime: 77
    ConnectionLeakProfileCount: 0
    ConnectionsTotalCount: 105
    CurrCapacity: 34_
    DeploymentState: 2
    Enabled: true
    FailuresToReconnectCount: 0
    HighestNumAvailable: 50
    HighestNumUnavailable: 0
    LeakedConnectionCount: 0
    MaxCapacity: 50
    NumAvailable: 31
    NumUnavailable: 0
Any ideas why CurrCapacity = 34 and less than Initial capacity , In my understanding WL should run with CurrCapacity=50.
    Thanks in advance

Hi. I there comes an episode where WLS needs to purge it's pool, such as if there was
a network hiccup or DBMS cycling that killed all the connections, then WLS will repopulate
the pool lazily, one-by-one as load requires. So, the current contents when purged will
be zero (less than initial capacity) and has grown for you according to need, to 34 so far.

  • Vld 004 error - partition key has less than 2 partitions defined

    HI All,
i have created a new table with a partition on one colunm. when i am trying to validate the table in owb, i am getting the vld-904 - partition key has less than two partitions defined error.
    please help.
    thank you.

    Hi,
Oracle DB requires that a partitioned table has at least 2 partitions. That is why you get an error from owb, the table creation would fail anyway.
    Regards,
    Carsten.

  • I got my ipod 5 less than a year ago, and yesterday the speakers stopped working. Will I get a new ipod for free?

Yesterday, i plugged in headphones, and when i took them out, it said headphones were still in it when i tried to change the volume. Now it cannot play any volume, or take in any volume, unless you have headphones plugged in and the have a built in microphone. Since i got my ipod less than a year ago, will i get a new one for free?

    First
    - Try cleaning out/blowing out the headphone jack. Try inserting/removing the plug a dozen times or so. There is a little switch in the headphone jack that disconnects the speaker when the headphone jack is inserted.

  • Help, I just bought my iPod Color less than 2 weeeks ago...

I may not be in the right group, but I just bought a new color iPod less than 2 weeks ago and I see that the new Color iPod with Video is out. Will Apple take back the iPod that I just bought and give me the new one? This is really a major bummer that they would not even hold my order or anything.

    Sure is.
As long as you didn't open the packet, I don't see any problem. But still, you'd better check this first -> http://store.apple.com/Catalog/US/Images/salespolicies.html#Return%20Policy

  • 100% to almost 60% battery in less than 1 hour - normal ??

I have had an iPhone4 since a little after they came out.  I am such a light user of the phone that I have never had to worry about the battery, and even when I am taking pictures making calls I don't even remember ever getting below 60%.  I charged the phone every day and mostly kept it on whatever charger was closest to me.
Now, I have upgraded to an iPhone5 for Siri, the Maps, the better camera and sound, image stabilization, nicer display, etc.
The other day I was pretty excited about trying out my new phone's maps, so I took about an hour drive to meet my girlfriend after work, and we went to see a movie.  The phone was 100% charged when I left.
I had GPS going I guess with the maps, no other apps going or in the background, but I did have music playing through the headphone back to my car stereo.
I was blown away that when I got to my destination and the next time I looked at my iPhone it was about 60% charge.  I estimate it was about an hour or continual use like that.  Do maps/GPS use a lot more power than normal?
Is this normal?  Do I have a problem?  Are there things I can do to cut down on power usage?  I already have the screen about as low as I can set it and still be able to see it.  Any FAQs on this issue?

Thanks woodmeister ... that's kind of the conclusion I came to.
the first thing I did was to buy one of those expensive little power adapters so I can charge my phone while I am driving ... which I guess does not help me if I am riding my bike?
While my iPhone does not really discharge so much it does not seem like the phone charges much either, which leads me to think there is a problem.
My iPhone is only about a week old so it is not one of the early ones.  I just do not know if this is normal?
Do you know if Apple has some concrete way to measure the iPhone battery to some standard they set?

  • IPod has more than just music on it !

Ok, this is gonna sound weird, but my brother just bought a video iPod and he downloaded his music onto it from iTunes.
Now when he plays it, between EVERY song there are people's voices talking. All of them are in a foreign language also. Does anyone have a clue what could be causing this??? It's kinda spooky too !
    Hp   Windows XP

Ok, Restoring the iPod may do some good, but I highly doubt it. I doubt restoring it will eliminate the voices. The voices are likely to actually be from the source of the music. What I mean to say is, when using P2P programs for music or what ever, you aren't going to get (almost always) the Exact same quality as you would if you bought it/had the original. A lot of files get corrupt, people like to change things, and not only that but quality drops. Limewire will mess up your Hard drive too (the computer's hard drive). I'd say get the music from a reliable source instead rather than a P2P. Delete the files with the voices. It's not the iPod, it's the file.

  • Available capacity less than total capacity?

I just purchased a used iPod 5th generation, model number MA444LL, version 1.2. The capacity reads 27.8 GB but available on reads 16.9 GB. The iPod shows there are no songs. How can I regain this lost capacity on the iPod?

    Restore it in iTunes.

  • HT2729 How can I download an HD movie from iTunes to a MacBook Air as it has less than 2GHz Processor.

Apple won't let me download an HD movie from the iTunes store to my Macbook Air 13 inch as it has a 1.8 Ghz processor and not the 2.0 Ghz processor it says HD movies need to play. Yet this computer has enough power to play them. How do I fix this?

    Hello maxr0,
Thank you for using Apple Support Communities!
I found this article that outlines where to go to download your purchases again in iTunes.
The article named says it is for iTunes 10, but the steps will work for iTunes 11 as well.
In iTunes, click iTunes Store (below Store).
Click the Purchased link in the top-right of the Store home page (below Quick Links).
In the page that appears, select a category.
iTunes shows you which of your purchases are available for download. You can view all of your past purchases, or just the ones not currently in your iTunes library. Items already in your library aren’t available for download.
If you select Music, you can view your purchases by song, artist, or album. If you’re using Album view, click an album to see which songs on it are available for downloading.
To search for an item, type its name or a keyword in the search field, and then press the Return key to view your search results.
To download an item, click the Download button to the right of the item.
From: iTunes 10 for Mac: Download previous purchases from the iTunes Store
              http://support.apple.com/kb/PH1706
Once you get to the page for your Movies or TV Shows, there should be a checkbox that says Download HD When Available. Uncheck that, and then download your purchase and that should get you the SD version of your video.
    Take care,
    Sterling

  • My headphone jack no longer holds my headphones all of a sudden, how can i fix that? my ipod is less than a year old.

I didn't drop my ipod and it did not get wet. I don't know why it wont work with headphones anymore...

Apple may determine that the damage is due to abuse. If they do so you will have to pay for Apple to exchange your iPod with a refurbished one.. The price is $99 if you have a 64 GB one and $99 for the others.

  • My iMac has less than 2 years. The hard drive from 1TB just failed. Possible to recover data?

The support store just told me that the hard drive of my IMAC 27" is damaged and the solution is to replace for a new one. Meanwhile, I saw this: "Apple has determined that a very small number of Seagate 1TB hard drives used in 21.5-inch and 27-inch iMac systems, may fail under certain conditions. These systems were sold between May 2011 and July 2011."
I bought my system a couple of months before. Anyone knows if it's the same hard drive?
Another question is. Is it possible to recover recover the data from the damaged drive?
    Best regards

If the hard drive has failed then that data is lost.  That's why you always need to maintain an up to date backup copy of your important files on an external backup hard drive.  Hard drives do fail; being an electro-mechanical device they are the weakest link in any computer.
    Hope this helps
