80GB won't load 640x480 H.264 videos

I have converted some DVDs into 640x480 H.264 at about 1000kbps. However, when I try and load them onto my 80GB pod it says that the ipod can't play them. Am I doing something wrong. It is my understanding that they should load and then be converted to 320x240 when I play them on my ipod screen, yet be 640x480 on output. I know this is the general understanding, but does anyone have any genuine hands on first hand experience of this actually happening? Or can anyone enlighten me further?
Thanks a lot.

  • Published site won't load. Are my video files too big?

I'm a video editor and have published a site through iWeb. I have about 8 movie files on the site. The site never fully loads. Are my video files too big? If so, what would you recommend the average MB's should be?

You need to use a movie player that doesn't require the files to load with the webpage...

  • My Ipod Touch won't load the music or video.

Whenever I click on music, it'll say "updating library, this may take a few minutes" and it'll show the music. Originally, it wouldn't show the music, it would just show that message then go back to home screen. But now, all it does is when I select a song, it'll go back to home screen and it won't play the music. I've updated it, backed it up. The videos won't even show up. I'll press on that, and it'll give me that message of "updating library", and then it'll go back to home screen. I don't know what to do. It has the latest update and everything. The only thing I haven't tried is wiping it and then putting everything back on. Only because I know that'll take a long time and I have a feeling it wouldn't do anything. Does anyone know what the problem may be?

This is obviously not the computer/library that the device was previously synced with.

  • Firefox 5.0 won't load or stream YouTube videos, even in safe mode

Since we updated to Firefox 5.0 last week, ALL YouTube pages now come up with a black box that doesn't load anything in, whereas the rest of the browser page looks normal. We tried opening in Firefox Safe Mode and the same thing happens. The YouTube vids stream as normal in our other browsers. Using Mac OS 10.6.7.

Is Fixed! Someone suggested clearing the Firefox cache 9 (Preferences / Advanced / Network / Clear Now) and and after doing this now we can stream on the YouTube site as normal.

  • My google calander won't let me add new events; my pandora won't load; and a youtube video pops up randomly on both these sights when I refresh the page.help!!

These seem to be problems with firefox, but I am not computer savvy so I don't know for sure. I have cleared history, cache, cookies and rebooted the computer. Other users of the computer said it was acting funny but provided no details. Sometimes also a tab just randomly closes. Any help would be appreciated.
    Thanks!!

'''Try Firefox Safe Mode''' to see if the problem goes away. Safe Mode is a troubleshooting mode, which disables most add-ons.
''(If you're not using it, switch to the Default theme.)''
    * You can open Firefox 4.0+ in Safe Mode by holding the '''Shift''' key when you open the Firefox desktop or Start menu shortcut.
    * Or open the Help menu and click on the '''Restart with Add-ons Disabled...''' menu item while Firefox is running.
''Once you get the pop-up, just select "'Start in Safe Mode"''
'''''If the issue is not present in Firefox Safe Mode''''', your problem is probably caused by an extension, and you need to figure out which one. Please follow the [[Troubleshooting extensions and themes]] article for that.
''To exit the Firefox Safe Mode, just close Firefox and wait a few seconds before opening Firefox for normal use again.''

  • H.264 videos that played in Firefox 34 won't play in Firefox 35.0

We host a ton of h.264 videos in the mp4 container displayed through JW Player. We had zero problems with Firefox 34 and earlier playing these videos, the video is H.264 and the audio is AAC, the whole thing is around 500 kbit/s.
They play fine on Firefox 34, Chrome and IE but after updating to Firefox 35.0 we get an error: "Error loading media: File could not be played".
We have found a fix to get them to work in the about:config, switching "media.fragmented-mp4.enabled" to false OR switching "media.fragmented-mp4.exposed" to false will allow our videos to play. Single file mp4's will also begin to download where before we would get a "Video can't be played because the file is corrupt."
Alternatively for Mac users if they just set media.apple.mp4.enabled to False it also works fine.
Non h.264 mp4 videos will play fine.
Here is a playlist that won't play: http://media.vineyardinstitute.org/other/vi_announcement/firefox-test.html
Here is the single video file: http://media.vineyardinstitute.org/other/vi_announcement/05_kingdom_theology.mp4
Is there anything I can change on either the playlist or the video files to get this to work? Why would the h.264 files that worked in Firefox 34 NOT work in 35? I will not be able to re-encode all of the videos, it would take me months. Is this a bug with Firefox?
Also I have tried this in safe mode, tried with every plugin deactivated, I have uninstalled Flash and the videos would not play as well as reinstalling a new version of Flash and a fresh copy of Firefox 35.0
Any help would be much appreciated, we are currently directing all of our users away from Firefox till we get this resolved.
    Thanks,
    Kyle

Do you have H.264 codec enabled in the plugins list of Firefox?
Does this happen in the most recent version of JWplayer?
There was an error loading the media:

In that one there were two errors: needed a higher version of Flash installed and the codec issue. As you mentioned this had been narrowed down to the codec of the mp4 file. And this codec is added with the default cisco h.264 player. [https://gigaom.com/2014/10/14/h-264-support-arrives-in-firefox-thanks-to-cisco-but-h-264-web-videos-still-wont-play/]

I recently bought a new tower with windows 8.1 everything was fine until yesterday when I went to watch a video that someone had posted, the sound was there but the screen was all green everything I try to watch has a green screen, I have gotten rid of the green screen but now the video won't load to watch. it tells me I have to upgrade flash player but my computer tells me its already embedded or something like that in windows 8.1. can you help.@marks93255255 or [email protected]!

If other devices can connect to the network without problems, it means that the router can provide wireless internet. For this situation, an isolation process is needed to be able to find a fix.
Was the computer tested to connect through Wi-Fi before you bought it?
Did you do Mac address filter on your router?
Make sure that the router is using WPA/WPA2 or WPA2 encryption type just like what Chester has recommended. If your router is already set to that security type, you may test by disabling the wireless security of the WI-Fi router. Check if it will connect or not.
Another thing to check is the properties of your wireless connection. To do that, Go to Network and Sharing center > Click change adapter settings > right click “Wireless” > go to Properties> click Internet protocol IPV4> check the Properties button below > make sure that it’s set to both Obtain IP automatically and Obtain DNS server automatically.

  • ITunes 11 previously imported a video file, which I loaded on to my iPod Nano, but I removed the file from the iTunes library and now it won't (re-)import the same video. Any thoughts on why not?

iTunes 11 previously imported a video file, which I loaded on to my iPod Nano, but I removed the file from the iTunes library and now it won't (re-)import the same video.
I'm using 2 PCs, each with video files (.MP4) on their respective hard drives, and also one external drive with other video files on that I move between the two devices.
iTunes on one PC will (sometimes!) let me add video content from the external hard drive, which is clearly iTunes-compatible, because I can then copy it over to my iPod Nano. On the other PC, I couldn't load that same video from the external hard drive. But if I copied that same video on to the PC's internal hard drive first, then iTunes would let me import it. That was yesterday - now iTunes is refusing to load any files from the internal or external hard drive(s).
    Any thoughts or suggestions, please?

So I tried copying the files from the external hard drive to a USB drive. I could import the video files from the USB drive!
So then I tried importing the same files on to my PC's internal hard drive again. I could import the video files from the internal hard drive!
So then I tried to import the very same files that failed to load on the very same PC previously. I could now import them!
I still can't import from the external hard drive directly, though.
I really don't think I like the process of importing things into iTunes very much... any suggestions on what's causing any of this behaviour would be very interesting.

  • Using Captivate 5 videos won't load

I am publishing to the Flash format using Captivate 5.5. I've tried publishing with and without the skin, and either way, the videos won't load when I try to open them with a link to the website where they are posted. They do open if I double-click on the htm in a network file folder.  I do not have this problem with older Captivate videos I created with Captivate 3. Does anyone have any suggestions as to why they won't open?

I found the answer to why my movie wouldn't play after publising.
Some smart user named nsukumar stated that if you used text animations it causes problems.
Sure enough, when I removed the text animation the finished results worked perfectly!
Thank you nsukumar where ever you are!

  • Videos won't load !

Hey all , I have a 2008 Macbook air and for some reason video just won't load anymore . This was originally my mom's , and when we wiped it and installed mavericks again everything started going slow. It's only 2gb ram , so I know that's a factor. Netflix , and YouTube hardly work , but they worked before. Could this be because of the fresh install ? Does anyone else with an older version have these issues ?

  • Streaming video won't load on two Thinkpads

Problem: Streaming video from two websites won't load on my T60 or X60; of the 5 computers I use daily, only my two TPads are affected. Having tried to troubleshoot this at several levels - I'm wondering whether there is something about ThinkPad proprietary software that could be the cause?
The two sites in question are Flash based: the New York Times,  and bloggingheadstv.com/diavlogs/. Flashplayer 10 is installed properly on both machines (and has been uninstalled / reinstalled in attempt to solve the problem).
    OS: Windows XP, SP2. Browser: Firefox, latest build (video won't load on IE6 or Safari either on these machines);
    Internet Security Suite: Eset NOD32 (turning off firewall temporarily makes no difference);
Relevant add-ons: NoScript, Adblock. (Disabling them temporarily makes no difference).
Troubleshooting thus far: working with NoScript board on Mozilla, and the bloggingheads people at their site - no results.

I have almost same problem in which I posted a thread about, and didn't get any answers. My videos show up in my library but won't transfer to my iPod. I get an error message saying: The iPod "Owner's Name iPod" cannot be updated. The required folder cannot be found. Also another one about the disc cannot be read from or written to. I only have 3 videos so I'm not too concerned because I can do without them but it's still a hassle. I am going to keep iTunes 7 and iPod 1.2 for now because that seems to be my only problem at the moment, instead of reverting back to previous versions.

  • Video won't load on iPod

Just upgraded to 7 with the iPod Updater as well. Now videos won't load on my iPod because they're "not the right format". I'm in desperate need to get these back on since I show clients videos on my iPod. HELP!!
What I've already done is uninstalled iTunes 7 and the Library stems. Reset my iPod. Installed iTunes 6.x. Tried running the previous iPod Updater to no avail. Re-installed 7. Tried, again, re-installing previous iPod Updater to no avail even after trashing the newest updater.
I've been searching the forums for help, but nothing hits on this in particular. What else can I do??? Thanks for your help...
