8130 Poor phone reception

Hi I'm new here,
I have had a 8130 for over a year now and have had 2 going on 3 new phones sent to me because of the bad phone reception.
All my calls outgoing and incoming have dropped voice(like it cuts out).
I am so frustrated. I was wondering if anyone else has had that problem and if so what did you do about it.

Try removing the battery - for about 30 seconds - then replace it - allowing your phone to reboot.

N8 poor signal reception and other hardware issues...

I have always been a Nokia fan . I started with Nokia 6600, then N70, then N82 and now a Nokia N8.
However, I am facing the worst experience with N8 reception issues.
The problems faced are as under :
1) Poor Signal Reception Issues - Signal strength is weak and is constantly fluctuating compared to other Nokia Phones. At my workplace, if Nokia N82 displays 5 bars, N8 would display only 1 or 2 bars.
2) Phone freezes many times. Whenever an Alarm is enabled, phone freezed much more.
3) Purple Tint in the display. Nokia Service Centre says that its normal but according to me, they are just ignoring this issue.
4) Vibration is weak : I often do not realize when the phone is vibrating in my pocket !!
Upcoming Symbian Anna will just improve the user interface but will not be able to solve these hardware issues.
If Nokia plans a hardware update facility for N8 users wherein they can fix the signal reception issues and increase the RAM to 1 GB atleast, I would retain this phone for few years.
But, now, I intend to switch to Samsung Galaxy S II.

I am agree with poor signal issue with nokia N8. I have two cell with one is N8 and other one is N26 with nearly 4.5 year old but at same place Nokia N8 showing very poor quality of network signal compared to N26. So for same network provider with two different cell with same manufacture how can drastic different that is also investing nearly RS.22000!
Please resolve the issue ASAP.

You can easily do that by downloading the music before you get to that area of weak Wi-Fi and cellular signal by downloading the music directly from the Music app by tapping the cloud button next to songs. The other option is to sync the music with iTunes over USB to have the songs downloaded to your phone. Take a look at the links below to get your music downloaded to your iPhone.

Poor Wifi Reception All Of A Sudden

My Samsung Galaxy Nexus has recently started to have very poor wifi reception in places it used to get very good wifi reception. I know for a fact it isn't my modem/router because we have multiple laptops in the house, other phones, and an Xbox connected to the internet and they all receive the same great signal they used to. I have read a lot of other forums about the Jelly Bean update having something to do with it on many other phones. I have had the Jelly Bean update for many months now and this problem has just started occurring, I am fortunate enough to have 4G where i live but i don't like using it all the time. If there is a fix i would like to know it asap! i need wifi on my phone!

took the offending ipad2 to the retail store...they restored to factory and then saw what we did: crummy reception, right inside the Apple store. They then gave us a new one to replace the offending bad unit.
at least they are still a leader in customer support. My suspicion is that an antenna died.

Poor gps reception

l had tomtom installed in my iphone 3gs and working fine , today try to use tomtom satnav n it come up poor gps reception , l try everywhere still the same please help

There is easy Resolution for poor GPS reception Issue, that i found when i faced it, IPhone has Antennae (the visible stainless steel which forms the perimeter around the phone). Which is Covered by bumper plastic Case, so Reception Area becomes limited, so if you face the problem, just remove the plastic case and check, both GPS and WIFI Reception should improve if there is no other issue.

Poor 4G reception in Gungahlin ACT

When is Telstra going to fix the poor 4G reception in Gungahlin, I havent been able to get 4G service for the last 3 months?the fault information says it is an inermittent problem, ETA unkown???? Intermittent, give me a break!!! it is useless, so much so I have had to turn the 4G off, and go back to 3G, which is working great, but you dont buy a 4G phone to run 3G???

Your best bet, is if you haven't already speak to Mobile Assurance and they will be able to check the details they have, and the more people who report the issue, the more it will show the issue is greater than 'intermittent' as your message would imply, and as such the more likely it is to get resolved quicker.

Turning off all battery draining services but keeping phone reception?

Is it possible to switch off all the services that drain batter life such as GPRS, EDGE, WI-FI etc etc etc with one switch and still keeping your phone reception. I know you can turn the phone on Airplane Mode but this loses your phone reception.
Also, can i ask. Does airplane mode turn off everything i mentioned above?

* All data types (WiFi, Edge, 3G, and GPRS) (WiFi can be turned on manually)
* Your telephone service
* Bluetooth
* Location Services
It doesn't turn off music and videos or local games. Games that use high definition or applications like Navigon use the most power drain.

since I couldn't edit my post ,some extra info if correct
n8 supports NextG with Telstra uses the 850 MHz 3g network which operated simultaneously on 850/2100 mhz and also uses HSDPA. 850 MHz is the same frequency as the CDMA network which provides greater distance coverage due to the lower frequency used.
Is there a software solution to make the n900 the same as the n8?
Or is the only difference the Arial.

Limited phone reception indoors

I have owned a BB Torch for 14 months. Within the last 30-45 days I get very limited to no phone reception in my office and at my home. I have the same office for over two years and lived in the same home for 19 years. ATT claims the phone is defective. It has never been dropped. It does not have any marks or scratches on it.
When in my office a an SOS signal. I get text messages and emails.
Any one know of a solution or is this BB a non-reliable phone.

My phone reception is horrible since installing ios7. My calls drop indoors and outdoors and normal places where reception is great, there are no dots at all. How can I fix this on my phone?!

Does anyone else have this problem? Even in my own bedroom my phone reception keeps cutting out, as well as every single grocery store I walk into.

You can try restoring the phone but if that doesn't work I would check the updates frequently till they come out with another update. I've herd many of my friends with some what the same problem but not as sever as yours.

So I am guesing probably the iPhone signal reception issue came from the iPhone SIM card reader itself not adjusting to the SIM chip.

Extremely poor wifi reception

Hi,
I have a brand new EliteBook 8470p with a Broadcom wifi card. I have a very, very poor wifi reception. Only if I am 2 or 3 meters from the wifi hub, in open view will I receive correctly the wifi. The transfer rate drops dramaticaly if I go further away. I opened the service cover to have a look at the wifi card. There are two wires connected for the antenna, labelled 1 and 2. There are 3 other wires in standby, labelled main (red label), aux (blue label) and MMO or MMD (yellow label), can't read clearly.
Is there any chance that the antenna has been incorrectly connected. I can't believe a commercial product would have such a miserable reception capability ...
