819 3G dual sim setup question

Hi all,
I´m trying to setup a dual sim 3G WAN connection and i have the following question.
I have created the profile 1 for slot 0 and profile 2 for slot 1.
My question is related to the chat-script.
I have setup the connection using only one sim, but now i have to use both sim slots for failover.
my chat script is --> chat-script hspa "" "AT!SCACT=1,1" TIMEOUT 60 "OK"
My question is :
To use the dual sim with 2 profiles how my chat-script will be ?
The below chat script will work with the dual sim active with both profiles ?
chat-script hspa "" "AT!SCACT=1" TIMEOUT 60 "OK"
Thank you :)

  • XFCE + dual monitor setup question

    Hi,
I just used the wiki guides to install arch and xfce, the desktop is extended horizontally on my 2 monitors, I used aticonfig.
the problem is if I start a an application in 1 monitor I cannot drag it to the 2nd monitor, how do I achieve that?
    thx.

@pinkfish, re etiquette, don't worry too much about it.  I've seen worse and at least you're willing to take advice and a bit of constructive criticism.  Some people I have seen on forums immediately fire a shot over the bow, to use a naval phrase, thinking they need to defend themselves from other forum citizens.
I meant to ask, are you trying to get one big desktop then or a "true" dual monitor (separate x-session) situation?  You might want to try one then the other.  I know when I had an ATI card I found it difficult, if not impossible, to get dual monitors working properly yet the big desktop option did work on most systems.

  • Another Dual Monitor Setup Question (non-retina 13 MBP)

I've connected one external monitor to a Macbook Pro (non-retina, 13", mid 2012) using a Mini DisplayPort to DVI adapter.
Can I connect a second external monitor using a USB to DVI or USB to HDMI adapter? Will the Macbook Pro recognize a monitor connected to the USB port?
    Hi everyone,
Looking to maximize the capabilities of my 13" Macbook Pro (mid 2012-Non Retina). Current specs are:
Processor  2.5 GHz Intel Core i5
    Memory  4 GB 1600 MHz DDR3
Graphics  Intel HD Graphics 4000 512 MB
Before I purchase two additional monintors, I trying to find out how to efficiently run two additional displays to essentially have a 3 display workstation. I'm a graduate student so having the ability to have an Excel, Word, and a research article up would improve my work time.
After doing some research, I've read that I would need to install one monitor Mini DisplayPort to DVI/HDMI Adapter and go another with USB to DVI/HDMI setup. Is this a good solution? Any ideas to prevent lag and still provide quality resolution?
    Much appreciated!
    Vince

There's a pin for hot plug detect in the adapter. It may be broken and disconnected within the one you bought. That wouldn't have any affect on normal operation except for what you describe.
I recommend returning the adapter to Apple as defective and getting another one and see if it works as expected.

  • Dual screen setup question with G4 17" and 23" Cinema!

I have a 23" Cinema display connected to my G4 17" laptop. I can't figure out how to run an Aperture slideshow on the 23" screen when hooked into my laptop and leave the main screen intact on the 17". It seems to always run on the laptop screen regardless of what settings I have used. The 23" works great in every other situation with Aperture.
    Anyone have any ideas?
    Thanks
      Mac OS X (10.4.3)
      Mac OS X (10.4.3)

I guess you have to set your 23" display as your primary display in System Preferences (dragging the Finder menu bar onto your 23" display) .
This might interfere with your wish to "leave the main screen intact on the 17".

  • Question about dual-monitor setup - advanced dock + PCIe card

I just got a Z60t at work. I had been using a dual monitor setup, but it doesn't look like my current config is going to fly w/ the new machine. Anyway, here's what I've got:
Primary monitor: Acer AL2416W (1920x1200 DVI)
Secondary monitor: Dell 1901FP (1280x1024 VGA)
I've read that the advanced dock might be able to let me use this setup with the Z60t if i put a PCIe video card in it. So here are my questions:
    1. Will the advanced dock + PCIe video card allow me to run the two monitors listed above (I don't use the laptop screen at all)?
    2. Which PCIe cards are compatible with the advanced dock?
    3. Can I achieve the same resolutions with the advanced dock + PCIe card?
    4. Will I need to split the VGA output, or can i use VGA + DVI like I do now (since the Z60t has no native DVI support)?
    thanks!

Gary -- don't turn on the OS Display Mirroring.  Turn it off.
You want Aperture to control how it uses your dual monitors.  (You do not want the OS to determine it.)
Once you've turned off the OS "Display Mirroring", the set-up I specified above should give you what you want.
    That set-up is:
    "View → Main Viewer → {anything}", and
"View → Secondary Viewer → Alternate"
You must have the Viewer active (not the Browser) in order to change the "Secondary Viewer" setting.  If you are in the Browser, activate the Viewer by double-clicking an Image.
Let me know if that doesn't work.

  • Vibe X2 - Dual Sim - question

    Hi,
I have lenovo vibe x2, with dual sim inserted.
i configured the sim 2 as Super network for 4G/3G.
Sim 1 is works for 2G only.
When i connect data network on Sim 1, always it connects to 'G' - GPRS only. Why not 'E' - EDGE?
    Pls clarify?

Hi Olutoye. It is best to update the software of your phone since updating it to the latest version may fix minor issues you are experiencing with it. Make sure to connect to a stable internet connection. We recommend connecting to an available WiFi when updating the software. We'll wait for your reply.

  • A technical question regarding NOKIA 301 Dual SIM

Several days ago I bought  new NOKIA 301 Dual SIM.
It is equipped with charger NOKIA AC-20E, input AC 100 - 240 V/120 mA, output  DC 5V/750 mA.
Also, I have several other (old or non-Nokia) chargers:
    1) NOKIA  AC-10E, input AC 100 - 240 V/160 mA, output DC 5V/1200 mA;
    2) NOKIA  AC-3E, input AC 100 - 240 V/60 mA, output DC 5V/350 mA (for this charger, I have proper adaptor for  NOKIA 301 Dual SIM);
    3) USB charger L-STAR , input AC 100 - 240 V, output DC 5V/1000 mA+/-5%
May I use these above listed (old or non-Nokia) chargers for charging my new NOKIA 301 Dual SIM (or which of them are compatible with NOKIA 301 Dual SIM)? Thank you.
    Solved!
    Go to Solution.

Choose the one with output 5V, 1200mA or the one which came for your phone, output 5V, 750mA.
More the output mA, the faster battery will charge. I don't recommend non Nokia ones.
    Hope this helps.

  • Dual monitor setup from laptop

I am a college student and have a Dell d630 laptop and am stuck with it until I graduate. I have many hours of programming still ahead and am very sick of this tiny screen. I like to have a minimum of 4 windows open at a time and would love a dual screen setup so I could cover more ground. I would like a setup where I don't need to use my laptop screen at all and just have 2 external monitors working together (I already have the monitors). I tried doing research to figure out my best option but I know nothing about video cards or monitor configurations so I didn't get far. Could someone recommend the product or setup i would need? thanks!

Well with a laptop, you're extremely limited as to video output capabilities, the best you're most likely going to be able to do is one external monitor.
If you like my post, or solution to your issue/question, go ahead and click on the little star by my name and/or accept the post as the Solution. It makes me happy.
I'm NOT an employee of Best Buy, or Geek Squad, though I did work as an Agent for a year 5 years ago. None of my posts are to be taken as the official stance that Best Buy will take on your situation. My advice is just that, advice.
Unfortunately, that's the bad luck of any electronic, there's going to be bad Apples... wait that's a horrible pun.

  • Lackluster Dual Network Setup - HELP!

    Here's my setup:
    DSL
    I
    I
    AXBS (UFO) 2.4Ghz b/g --> PowerBook G4 (10.4.11); iPhone (Original)
    I
    I
    Time Capsule 5Ghz n (Bridged) --> MacBook Pro (10.5.4); MacBook (10.4.11 - n enabled)
The Time Capsule's Strength and Range is suppose to far exceed that of the older Base Station. When I'm near the location of the two transmitters the 5Ghz n is barely twice as fast as the 2.4Ghz b/g (tested with large file transfers between the 2 newer laptops, and then file transfers between the MacBook Pro and the older Powerbook). When I'm farther away the 5Ghz n drops away and the 2.4Ghz b/g remains relatively strong. Switching between the two networks when I'm at a distance strangely still shows full solid bars for both networks.
So does anyone have any suggestions or further question that might help me improve the speed and range of the newer Time Capsule? Thanks

    Just to update everyone:
Today I moved my whole dual network setup to a more centrally located spot in the house. This has definitely improved the coverage of the 2 network bands (n & b/g).
Additionally, since I only recently acquired the TC, I originally just added ("bridged") it off of my existing b/g network. With todays move, I decided to switch the 2 base stations and have the TC and its' "n" network the first connection off of the DSL router. Then reconfigured the older ABS Extreme (UFO) to "bridge" off the the TC. While I am convinced that I did not originally have the 2 networks co-mingled (as early speed tests confirmed), I seem to be experiencing improved internet speeds in the 5Ghz ("n") network. Could this be due to no longer "bridging" the TC through the older ABS Extremes' internal Ethernet switch?
As per Tesserax suggestion, I then did a Signal-to-Noise ration (SNR) survey of the house, and came up with some good results based on the SNR Guidelines in Tesserax comments above.
35 to 45 SNR throughout most of the house. About 25 SNR just outside in the patio where I was barely getting a connection before. Things have definitely improved. And I am very pleased. Clearly network speed is the advantage of 802.11n technology.
Nevertheless, my original observation still seems to apply. Here's why: Detached from the house is the garage and an office. As I moved out toward the office during the SNR survey (about 50 ft. away), the strength of the 5Ghz ("n") network dramatically dropped off, and was eventually non-existent inside the office. Yet I could switch over to the 2.4Ghz ("b/g") network and easily browse the internet.
Apple's marketing claims "AirPort Extreme delivers data transfer speeds up to five times those of previous-generation 802.11g wireless networks — while achieving up to twice the range."
Now I fully accept, as Apples' footnote states, "Based on a comparison with Apple's 802.11g products. Comparison assumes AirPort Extreme network with 802.11n-enabled computer. Speed and range will be less if an 802.11a/b/g product joins the network. Accessing the wireless network requires an AirPort- or AirPort Extreme-enabled computer or other Wi-Fi Certified 802.11a/b/g-enabled computer. Actual performance will vary based on range, connection rate, site conditions, size of network, and other factors. Range will vary with site conditions." If "site conditions" are limiting the range of the 5Ghz band, why aren't those same site conditions limiting the 2.4Ghz band as well. While I don't realistically expect a full doubling of range between the 2 bands, couldn't I expect SOME? Otherwise the marketing claims are meaningless.
Can the disparity be explained by Tesserax' observation above, "we know the stricter the wireless security employed, the more overhead is "eating away" the overall bandwidth so we would expect poorer performance when using WPA2 vs. WEP." Now the TC only has WPA2 security available. Are we to assume that Apple's range claims do not apply to the TC then? If I switch my older ABS Extreme (UFO) from WEP to WPA2 will the result match Apple's marketing claims? I'd rather not chop off my good right leg just so it will match my missing left leg. Perhaps my expectations for 802.11n technology were a little too high. Don't get me wrong. I'm very happy with the results. And I am thankful for Tesserax advise. I also appreciate the fact that I am not (yet) experiencing the difficulties that others here are having with the Time Capsule.
Ultimately, I assume that picking up an Airport Express "n" will extend the 5Ghz network into the office. Is this correct? If anyone has observations on this or my thoughts above, feel free to share them with the rest of us.

  • Nouveau graphical tearing, dual-head setup

I currently experience tearing while using the Nouveau drivers for my NVidia card. I experienced the same (or a similar) tearing issue while using the proprietary drivers, which, along with the inherent incompatibility with most of the linux graphics stack, led me to switch to Nouveau.
I'm using the 3D support from nouveau-dri along with xf86-video-nouveau and the most recent Gnome 3 build in the official repositories.
I have a dual-head setup with one 1024x768 IBM monitor to the left of a 1920x1080 Dell monitor. Both report 60Hz vertical refresh rate in their configuration menus.
So far, my attempts to solve this problem have consisted of the following steps:
    1. Use a minimal xorg.conf and configure everything using the integrated Gnome display settings utility. The minimal xorg.conf was as follows:
    Section "Device"
    Identifier "nvidia"
    Driver "nouveau"
    Option "GLXVBlank" "true"
    EndSection
    2. Enable/disable the GLXVBlank flag in xorg.conf.
I do not experience the same issue when booted to Windows 7, using the most recent official NVidia drivers.
I would greatly appreciate any help anyone could offer on this issue, it is quite frustrating to boot into Windows to watch videos without horizontal breaks in every frame. Thanks!
Output from xrandr --current is as follows:
    [ifx@melancholy ~]$ xrandr --current

Hello. I have the same problem. Not just on Arch. I've had this problem with many distros, graphics cards, and drivers across the board. Installing the proprietary nvidia driver fixes the video tearing (vsync) issue for me. However; A) it's Linux, I don't want to use proprietary anything (otherwise I'd be on a Mac); and B) the proprietary driver will not flip my display to portrait anyway.
I basically have the same setup as Meyermagic. One GeForce 8600 GT, Two monitors (identical acers) 1680x1050 (oriented in portrait so 1050x1680 if you like), using open source Nouveau driver, created a minimal xorg file in /etc/X11/xorg.conf.d/20-nouveau.conf
    Section "Module"
    Load "glx"
    EndSection
    Section "Device"
    Identifier "Nvidia card"
    Driver "nouveau"
    Option "GLXVBlank" "true"
    EndSection
Both monitors have a refresh rate of 60Hz. I still get really bad tearing as I drag windows across the screens.
Again, I've had this issue with almost every Linux box I've built (the only time this is not even remotely an issue is on my Thinkpad T400 using the Intel graphics). I'm guessing I'm doing something wrong or I've just had bad luck because it is nearly impossible to find any support for this on any forum anywhere. Anything I do find is either a thread like this where someone asked the question and simply never got a response. Or it is some out-of-date forum that give you 10 ways to modify the xorg.conf none of which make any sense or don't work. Not to mention that xorg.conf is now depreciated anyways.
Seriously, even if there is a wiki that concisely explains in excruciating detail how to actually modify the xorg conf files then I could figure it out for myself but I can't find that anywhere which makes me feel really stupid because I know it has to be out there. If there isn't an xorg wiki or xorg.com site or something that explains how to use the thing then I'm not sure I want to live on this planet anymore.
If anyone can help in any way please do.

  • DUAL SIM PHONE OPTIONS

I need to get a dual sim phone so that i can have my own personal mobile sim in it and my work mobile sim in too
However, I need the option to be able to USE ONE SIM ONLY , so that I can 'turn off' my work mobile when I am not working.
I was looking at something like the Asha 202 or C2-00. However, having downloaded their user manuals, it would suggest you cannot do this (And only have the option of selecting which sim will be used for outgoing calls/texts).
Another dual sim phone , the Nokia 101 according to its user guide has the facility to USE ONE SIM ONLY. However, that is a very basic phone and has no camera.
So, my question is, is the USE ONE SIM ONLY available on the 202 & C2-00 and is just omitted from the user guide, or is it really not available ?
    Thanks

AFAIK it allows simultaneous Dual SIM Support with preferred SIM selection for Making Calls and Data. Asha 200 allows hot swap of SIM 2 via side slot whilst SIM 1 is placed underneath battery.

Dual band supports GSM and 3g frequencies. GSM has a broad coverage while 3g supports faster downloads (HSDPA) but is not available in all areas. This has nothing to do with dual SIM.  There are special dual SIM adapters for e.g. E71
