831 router....'loading cisco router web setup. please wait'

We just received a used 831 from our other office. I put in http://10.10.10.1 then click continue for the language. It comes to a screen that reads: 'Loading Cisco Router Web Setup. Please Wait...' thats as far as it will go. I'm not sure where to start I'm new to cisco routers. I have read the manual that came w/ it but couldn't find out any information. Your help will be greatly appreciated.
Thanks

Hello Brandon,
CRWS is a little bit buggy, try SDM instead, which is supposed to be the replacement for CRWS. YOu can download it here:
http://www.cisco.com/pcgi-bin/Software/Tablebuild/doftp.pl?ftpfile=pub/web/sdm/SDM-V231.zip&swtype=FCS
When asked for a user ID, just use anonymous/anonymous, it will allow the download.
If you cannot download, post your email address and I will send you the file.
You could also try another browser, such as Firefox:

  • 827H router web setup not working

We were having problems with our 827H router, so I decided to reset it to the factory defaults and re-run the quick setup. I've done that before with no problems.
This time, after it loads the configuration in the web setup, it keeps checking the model, IOS version, etc.--over and over again. It won't stop, nor can we exit out of it to get to the quick setup.
Originally the router was connected to a hub. When we couldn't configure it from the web setup, we put the router directly onto a pc with an ethernet cable. We could ping the router. Using the console cable, we are able to see the router's settings. (See attached)
The pc was set to dhcp. The dns was originally set to "Obtain automatically". We also tried to set the dns and the gateway to the router's ip, and added the domain controller's dns as another dns server. Nothing has worked.
Any help will be greatly appreciated.
    Thanks!

Your description of the symptoms is quite puzzling as is the console log that you sent. You say that you connected a PC directly to the router. Was that using a cross over Ethernet cable?
You say that when you connected the PC to the router you could ping the router. What IP address was on the PC at that point.
The console output that you included has a kind of garbled output in the show run. It looks as if two things were outputting at the same time. I am not clear if there were actually two things happening together or if the router is really messed up. (Though most of the config that showed up looked reasonable)
I would suggest that you connect to the console port again and capture all of the console output. I would suggest that whle you are connected and capturing output that you power cycle the router (it may be very helpful to see what messages go to the console while the router is booting).
After the router boots again, you may be able to use the web interface. If the web interface does not work you should be able to use the console interface to get a congif that should work basically.
Try these steps and post the output. Maybe then we can find a solution.

  • Pogo games wont load...just says "please wait" ; all your recommendations have been checked.

Pogo games wont load, it says "please wait" ...you can wait for hours, I also tried IE, same problem...this occurred within hours of our last game. All of the recommended "fixes" have either been applied or tried! Thanks!

Please check if all your plugins are up-to-date. To do this, go to the [http://mozilla.com/plugincheck Mozilla Plugin Check site].
Once you're there, the site will check if all your plugins have the latest versions.
If you see plugins in the list that have a yellow ''Update'' button or a red ''Update now'' button, please update these immediately.
To do so, please click each red or yellow button. Then you should see a site that allows you to download the latest version. Double-click the downloaded file to start the installation and follow the steps mentioned in the installation procedure.

  • Web template - please wait message.

I have developed a (default)web template which contains a button to change the number of decimal places for all of the cells within a query.
In the case of an extremely large query (that requires 1500 individual commands to change all of the key fields) the javascript, once executed when the user presses the button, can take quiet a bit of time.
What I'd like is a pop up asking the user to wait, similar to the pop-up you get if you click on the 'drilldown' button within the Navigational Block. Does anyone know how I could do this outside of the table interface.
    Thanks
    Shep.

    Neal,
I must have lost the plot...but if its just a pop up window you want why don't you just code into the javascript to open a bsp which has some type of message saying that it can take a while for the operation to complete?

  • How to Implement a "Please wait......" animation

    Hi,
Hoping someone can point me in the right direction in implementing a "Please wait......" ajax loading animation process that is then hidden on result set completion.
I have a report where I would like to indicate to the user that the report is running, using a "Please wait...." animation which then hides when the report results are returned to the user.
Any help/example links that demonstrate this, would be much appreciated. I think there is an Oracle ApEx built-in example but unable to locate.
    Thanks.

    Hi,
Just wondering if the Ajax Loading process used here at :> Please wait message ... actually works with Oracle ApEx 3.0.1 as I seem to be getting a javascript error when the actual ajax loading animation appears but then javascript error resolves when the ajax loading hides.
    Is there some issues with $s and $x in Oracle ApEx 3.0.1 with regards to window.setTimeout('$s("AjaxLoading",$x("AjaxLoading").innerHTML)', 100);
If so, is there a fix for this?
    Thanks.
    Tony.

  • Safari Won't Load Router Web Page

    Safari 7.0.3
    OS X 10.9.2
    Mac Mini 2009
    I recently got a new router: TP-Link TD-W8980
If I enter the router's IP address into Safari, I see the router's login page.
After I log in, all I see is a blank page.
If I close the blank page and type in the router's IP address again (before the session times out), the router's web page displays normally.
If I use Chrome, the behavior is normal.
Why do I have to close the page and reopen in order for Safari to properly display the router web pages?
Message was edited by: Buadhai - Correct spelling of Chrome.

I''m sorry, but I don't understand your question at all.
This is from the router's setup guide:
    3.2 Quick Installation Guide
With a Web-based utility, it is easy to configure and manage the TD-W8980 N600 Wireless Dual Band Gigabit ADSL2+ Modem Router. The Web-based utility can be used on any Windows, Macintosh or UNIX OS with a Web browser, such as Microsoft Internet Explorer, Mozilla Firefox or Apple Safari.
    1. To access the configuration utility, open a web-browser and type the default address http://192.168.1.1 in the address field of the browser.
How would Safari know how to get to the router's web server if you didn't enter the IP address in the browser's address field?

  • Cisco 831 Router to Configure VPN Access

    Hello,
I need assistance in configuring a VPN in a Cisco 831 Router. I do not have any experience in configuring routers and VPN's, and would appreciate if any one could help out.
I would like to connect three Laptops to the Cisco 831 via Cisco VPN Client. Three laptops must have 10.42.6.x Address assigned by the router on the VPN Connection. They will also need access to the internal network which is 192.168.x.x private network. The Cisco has a Static IP on the Internal Interface and External Interface. I have tried several different ways of doing this, however I must be doing something wrong in my config.
Any help or suggestions would be appreciated.

    Hi Robert
You can refer the below link in finding out the exact config to start with.
do make sure that your Cisco 831 box with the current IOS code installed in it supports the required feature to run the same..

  • Problem with Cisco 831 router NAT translation or routing

    Hello,
I’ve reviewed several post on this forum, very useful, and I think this 831 router config should allow for NAT'ng port 8080 to the ‘inside’ ip address, per this statement below. but my efforts have not been successful, no responses get back to outside client (xx.24.40).   clients on inside can communicate outbound fine. The iis server at .10.3 is definitely up and running on port 8080. I know this is probably a duplicate of other posts but if anyone can pinpoint my error I would really appreciate it!!

    Hi Alain,
yes, the client i was testing with is on the same subnet as public router ip.  Good thought on the firewall, I will disable any firewall on iis machine (my laptop) and re-test.  will reply with those results on Monday.   ultimately i'm needing to test nat for port 9100 to a printer, I'll add that and test as well, firewall shouldn't be a factor with printer.
    thank you.

  • Perplexing Wireless Router Issue! Please Help!

OK Guys and Girls, I could really use some help.  I have a wireless router Mod. WRT54G ver. 2.0, and yes it has the firmware upgrade. The problem that I am current having is this, my computer can connect to the router no problem, and  i  can access the settings too, but it will not let me access the internet at all. It's not the cable modem because I can hook up my laptop to it and get internet.  So in short the router isn't, for some strange reason, letting my computer access the internet but the router can access the web.  Please any suggestions are welcome. Thank you in advanced.

Access the setup page of the router by launching an
Browser and type on the address bar, 192.168.1.1 and press enter.
When it prompts for the username and password, leave the username field
empty and provide password as "admin" (Without quotes)
    click on ok.
On the main setup page the ""Internet Connection Type"" should be
on ""Obtain IP Automatically - DHCP “. Click on the Save Settings
    button.
Now click on the sub tab ""MAC address clone"".
    - Click on enable
Click Clone & click save settings
Check WAN Ip on Status page of router ....
If getting Valid Ip .... try going online
If not ... power cycle for 4-5 minutes & then again check the WAN Ip address .....

  • Need help accessing the router web page.  I have been tol...

Need help accessing the router web page.  I have been told my router is acting like a switch and the IP address is not in the proper range.  I have tried reseting the router (hold for 30 sec and unplug for 5 mins).  Didn't work.
    thanks

What router are you using?  Almost all Linksys routers use 192.168.1.1 as the default local IP address, but there is at least one that uses 192.168.16.1 , namely the WTR54GS  (not the WRT54GS).
You need to try again to reset the router to factory defaults.
To reset your router to factory defaults, use the following procedure:
    1) Power down all computers, the router, and the modem, and unplug them from the wall.
    2) Disconnect all wires from the router.
    3) Power up the router and allow it to fully boot (1-2 minutes).
    4) Press and hold the reset button for 30 seconds, then release it, then let the router reset and reboot (2-3 minutes).
    5) Power down the router.
    6) Connect one computer by wire to port 1 on the router (NOT to the internet port).
    7) Power up the router and allow it to fully boot (1-2 minutes).
    8) Power up the computer (if the computer has a wireless card, make sure it is off).
    9) Try to ping the router. To do this, click the "Start" button > All Programs > Accessories > Command Prompt. A black DOS box will appear. Enter the following: "ping 192.168.1.1" (no quotes), and hit the Enter key. You will see 3 or 4 lines that start either with "Reply from ... " or "Request timed out." If you see "Reply from ...", your computer has found your router.
    10) Open your browser and point it to 192.168.1.1. This will take you to your router's login page. Leave the user name blank (note: a few Linksys routers have a default user name of "admin" (with no quotes)), and in the password field, enter "admin" (with no quotes). This will take you to your router setup page. Note the version number of your firmware (usually listed near upper right corner of screen). Exit your browser.
If you get this far without problems, try the setup disk (or setup the router manually, if you prefer), and see if you can get your router setup and working.
If you cannot get "Reply from ..." in step 9 above, your router is dead.
If you get a reply in step 9, but cannot complete step 10, then either your router is dead or the firmware is corrupt. In this case, use the Linksys tftp.exe program to try to reload your router with the latest firmware. After reloading the firmware, repeat the above procedure starting with step 1.
If you need additional help, please state your ISP, the make and model of your modem, your router's firmware version, and the results of steps 9 and 10. Also, if you get any error messages, copy them exactly and report back.
Please let me know how things turn out for you.

  • Get a blank page when I log in to my WRT54G router's setup page

When I try to log in to my router's setup page, I get a blank screen.  My router's address is 192.168.1.1, and when I type that in to my browser's address bar, I do get the log-in prompt.  I enter the correct password (leaving the user name field blank), and I get a blank screen.  The ensuing page does not show me the various setup parameters.
I have 2 PCs and have encountered the problem in both.  On one, I am running Windows 7 and the other is running Vista.  I recently upgraded my WinXP machine to Win7 and I did not have the problem on XP.
    Can you please help?
    Thanks
    J

To view the router's web pages:
You do not need an Internet connection. The router's "web pages" are built into the router.
Use Internet Explorer, it usually works.
    JavaScript must be enabled.
Use a computer that is wired to the router.
In the non-working computer, temporarily turn off your software firewall.
Point your browser to 192.168.1.1 , then login to your router. Your user name should be left blank. Your password is "admin" (with no quotes), unless you changed it.
If you are using Zone Alarm, right click on the ZA icon in the system tray (lower right corner of screen) and then click "Shutdown ZoneAlarm", and see if this fixes your problem. If this does not work, try the following with Zone Alarm: Open the ZAISS control center, go to Privacy, then temporarily turn off Ad Blocking and Cookie Control, and see if that fixes your problem.
Some Zone Alarm users have reported that adding 192.168.1.1 to their list of "trusted" addresses fixed the problem. This trick might also work with other firewalls.
If you are using Noton Internet Security with the Add-on Pack, be sure to turn off the Pop-up Blocker, and the Ad blocker. Some users have reported that they needed to uninstall the entire Norton Add-on Pack.
If you cannot get anything at 192.168.1.1 then perhaps this is not your router's address. Go to "Start" > All Programs > Accessories > Command Prompt.
A black DOS box will appear. Type in "ipconfig" (with no quotes), then hit the Enter key. Look at the "Default Gateway". Is it 192.168.1.1 ? Point your browser to the "Default Gateway", then login to your router.
If the above fails, disconnect your modem from the router, and try again. If this corrects your problem, then most likely you have a "modem-router" rather than an ordinary modem. Report back with this problem, and also state the make and exact model number of your modem (not the router).
If all of the above fails, power down your entire system, unplug it from the wall, wait one minute, then power up and try again.
If all of the above tips fail, then reset the router to factory defaults: Power down the router and disconnect all wires from it. Wait one minute. Power up the router, allow it to fully boot (1-2 minutes), then press and hold the reset button for 30 seconds, then release the button and allow the router to reset and reboot ( 2-3 minutes). Power down router. Wait one minute. Connect one computer, by wire, to a LAN port on the router. Boot up system. It should work.
If you still have trouble, then you need to download and install (or re-install) the latest firmware for your router. After the firmware upgrade, you must reset the router to factory defaults, then setup the router again from scratch. If you saved a router configuration file, DO NOT use it.

It looks like 9.0.3 firmware should work on UCM 5.0 and 6.0 so I am lost as to why I can't seem to update any firmware for any model phone if it is newer then version 8.3.1 on either 5.0 or 6.0. while 5.1 and 6.1 work without issues. Maybe it is just a bug. I mostly wanted to see if anyone else has experienced this or if it is just me.

  • Can't access my router's setup page (wrt54g)

I can't access my router's setup page (wrt54g) after setting it up. The router is working fine, but everytime I try to log on at 192.168.1.1 it says the password is incorrect. The first time I set it up I changed the default user name and password and I thought I had just forgot it, so I reset the device. This time I didn't change any of the defaults and I still can't log on. I already had to reset it several times, and it's just annoying. Does anyone knows how to keep it from happening? I thought it could be a firmware problem, but I can't find any downloads for my route'rs version (V8). I'm using a macbook pro, osx 10.9.2.
    Solved!

I had the same problem.. After trying the userid and password from my previous WRT54G2 without success and admin admin multiple times, I used the "router name"  ==> Linksys as the user name and the security code that I used to set up the new router  as the password and it let me in..  I was on the phone with LINKSYS technical suport during this 1 hour process and they were as much surprised as I was that this worked..  After gettin on and changing the config, (thanks to Honey), I was able to access the internet from the new E2500 THAT i HAD JUST INSTALLED..  success

  • Wireless Router Security Setup

Sorry in advance if this is a stupid question but I am fairly new to my mac. (love it by the way)
We have DSL at home and recently bought a Belkin Wireless G router. I put in the cd that came with it and selected the Mac option for install. Now, after this it took only a few seconds and was done. All connected and up and running in nothing flat. My wife was able to connect via her PC laptop no problem.
I want to secure this wireless connection and I can't quite figure out how. Oddly enough there is no Belkin icon for me to click on to get into any properties. When I type belkin into my spotlight search nothing comes up. I assume I should be setting up the security directly on my mac somehow but just not sure how.???
Have tried reading and searching but still can't find anything. Right now I am assuming my question is just too simple so no one else has this problem but I just can't get my pea sized intellect to figure it out.
    Thanks All!

Well, you do have Security on your Mac, but what you want is to address the router's Setup page
Run Safari and type this into the url bar...
    http://192.168.2.1
You should see a Menu there.
Come to think of it, this is probably the best source on how to...

I think this might be your Router.

  • DSL w/831 router configuration questions

    Hi all -
    - DSL service with 1 static IP address
    - DSL modem configured for "bridge mode"
    - 831 router
There are some things I don't understand about all this.
#1: In order to make all this work, I need to have the PPPoE stuff configured on the router, yes?
#2: Do I need to have the "interface Dialer1" configured? And if not, can I put the DSL login info in the "interface Ethernet1" section?
#3: Do I need to explicitly set up NAT? I want my internal clients to get IPs on the 10.10.10.0 network and they need to have full Internet access.
#4: I think I don't understand how the routing should be set up.
#5: Any other helpful hints, I'll gladly take!!
