8310 Flash stays illuminated

I've had my 8310 Red Curve for almost 2 months and love it. However, for some reason the camera flash stays illuminated at all times. It stays on even when I power the phone off. I've set the flash to 'off', but it stays illuminated then as well. I have also removed the battery while the phone is on, but it comes back on when I put the battery back in the phone. A few of my coworkers also have Curves and have not been able to figure out why the flash stays illuminated on mine. I'm thinking this probably drains the battery faster and it is quite bright, so would really like to know how to turn it off. Has anyone else ever had this problem and been able to fix it? Thank you in advance for any help!

I am currently having the same EXACT problem with my 8100. Its strange. Did u ever resolve it? If so, please let me know. I'm clueless and its aggravating.

A liquid damaged iPhone 4 can be replaced by Apple for $149.
By the way... and electrical short can be dangerous, creating a fire or explosion hazard. You can see the short that's affecting the flash... It's the short you may not see that's affecting the battery and/or charging circuitry that's the problem.
    Get it replaced.

For some reason my Nokia Lumia camera flash stays lit when I am trying to use the phone other than when I am using the camera itself. THis causes the batter to drain and I cannot use the phone for normal use. Is there a way to turn this off.

It would help to know which phone.

  • 6070 - Making the screen stay illuminated for long...

How can I increase the time the display stays illuminated? No matter what I try, the screen darkens to unreadable after about 5 seconds. I've tried adjusting the Time Out setting in Screen Saver, and I've tried turning Power Saver on and off.
I'd like the display to stay illuminated for at least a minute after key activity finishes.

Just checking up on this again because I can't seem to figure it out.
    Thanks,

  • What if I got my iphone a little wet and the flash stays on dimly sometimes

There is a little moisture on the inside of my phone and the flash stays on slightly ( somtimes it just comes on ) What to do?

To get the flashlight off, I would try a reset, by holding down the top button and the home button at the same time until the apple logo appears. If that doesn't work, all I can guess is that there may be a short in the phone somewhere. Not good.

  • 6070 - Increase the time the display stays illumin...

Is there a way of increasing the time the display stays illuminated for? ATM my screen goes black after a few seconds which is annoying when trying to enter a number - the only way to "re-illuminate" the screen is push another button, which (depending on the button pushed) will take you to a different menu or even start dialling the incomplete number.
The default time the screen stays illuminated for is not long enough, and there should be a way of increasing the time it stays on for. I've tried changing the Screen Saver settings and the Power Saver settings, but niether affect the time the screens stays illuminated for.
Other phones that I've used allow you make the screen stay on for as long (or as short) as you like, but not this one - why?

    Hi kevin,
I try to do this earlier....but it is not working.....
I want to increase the number of results display in the popup window (i.e. lookup window on web gui) ....
Currently, it displays only 10 values....to see other values, we have to click "next" link....
so, I want to increase the no of display values in one page to 20...

  • My flash stays on constantly iPhone 4S

4s led/flash stay on constantly my phone is 5 days old

Try shutting the iPhone completely off by holding sleep until the red bar shows. Then power it on again.
If that doesn't work is suggest closing any apps in the background by double tapping home and close them all.
It's unusual for a background app to constantly run but I've had similar apps that actually run in the foreground to light the way such as Flashlight.

  • LG G2 flash stays on too long

Our LG G2 when used in low light, the flash stays on for 6 sec before picture is actually taken, it can blind the subject for minutes after.  This issue was asked before on this link https://community.verizonwireless.com/thread/830574.  I followed all the steps to include the Safe Mode, it also happens in safe mode. The discussion ended without any resolution.  Any suggestion, this phone is 4 days old with the latest software version VS09827A.  We have another phone, the exact model also new and it also has the condition.

    YateK,
Thanks for getting back to me.  I wanted to wait until it actually got dark to test your theory.  The Night mode is not the solution, the picture is dark and grainy.  The flash does work but with the light staying on for the 6-7 sec.  The camera does take great pics but when the flash is needed it can not be used for people only objects.  I understand LG's quest for the best result by lighting the subject until the camera can sort out the best focus, but my HTC2 takes a great picture, with flash, in about 1 sec. This is more like a "real" camera's handling of the need for flash.
You also mentioned a 3rd party app but reading the reviews some have the chance to turn the phone into a "brick" if not done correctly or they don't work at all.
I may consider turning this phone back during my trial period for a Samsung, only after testing its handling of the flash issue.

  • Camera flash stays on and crashes the device

I have the camera flash set to automatic.  Whenever it flashes, it doesn't just flash--it stays on and crashes the entire device (except for the light).  A battery pull resets the device (including the light).  Something about the flash function is causing it because if the camera does not use the flash there is no problem.  Any recommendations?

Hi and welcome to the forums!
Try opening the video camera and using the light. Any problems?
I would open the camera, options, change the flash to any other option then save.
Open the camera again, select the flash option desired and save. Then do a battery
    pull as listed.
Let us know how it goes!
    Thanks,

  • Why wont Flash stay on my PC?

Ok, I go to a website. The site says that I need to install
Flash. I click the link and I install Flash. The Flash bar says
that I have successfully installed Flash.
    Great!
However, when I go back to the site it says that I havent got
Flash Installed? I go back to the Flash site and instead of seeing
Flash installed, I see the option to install again.
What is going on? Can somebody please help?

Heres a neat lil gem about troubleshooting issues with iTunes named iTunes for Windows Vista or Windows 7: Troubleshooting unexpected quits, freezes, or launch issues found here http://support.apple.com/kb/ts1717.
If you perfrom the troubleshooting and determine that iTunes needs to be re installed then here is the article to assist with that: Removing and reinstalling iTunes, QuickTime, and other software components for Windows Vista or Windows 7 found here http://support.apple.com/kb/ht1923.

  • Camera flash stays on all the time

I dropped my iphone and the camera is on all the time. I've turned the phone off and the light stays on.  I've also taken some pictures. Any help I would be indebted !!

Basic troubleshooting from the User's Guide is reset, restart, restore (first from backup then as new).  Try each of these steps in order until the issue is resolved.
Otherwise, Out of Warranty replacement from Apple for $149US.  Dropping it has most likely damaged the device.

  • Airport Icon wont stay turned on..

    Hi Guys

Thanx a lot in advance for your help

I seem to be having the same problem. We were in Mexico on vacation, and on the second day I was taking some photos near the water with some highways and some water splashed on the camera, but it seems to still be working for the next few hours. When I stop taking pictures and came back to the camera a few hours after, I tried turning it on and the set date and time settings screen was displayed. After I entered the settings, I was able to resume taking pictures. However, when I turned the camera off, then on again, that same screen displayed it again.
The next day, I went to turn on the camera, and the lands would not extend fully and will turn off main extension. When I held down the power button, it would retract back but not all the way. If I hit the playback button, I was only then able to fully close the lens. I'm thinking now in hindsight, I should have not tried to turn it on, and just put it in a bag of rice right away, but it's probably too late for that now, and since I'm thinking the water that got on it was salt water from the ocean, it might have corroded some terminals or some electronics inside, I'm not sure. But I don't think I want to pay $200 for Canon to just look at it, and then come back to me saying they can't fix the camera. The warranty has just run out, and I think I might be better off just buying a new camera.

  • Equium U400 - Can't start webcam via illumination buttons

I'd like some help please - I can't get the webcam on my Toshiba Equium to work. It used to come on when I touched any of the hotkeys on the panel above the keyboard. That no longer works, yet they stay illuminated constantly even when the laptop is switched off.
    Can anyone help?

    Hello
First of all you have definitively to reinstall the Camera Assistant Software. You can find it on the Toshiba website:
    http://eu.computers.toshiba-europe.com => Support & Downloads => Download Drivers
Furthermore you should check the illumination setting in BIOS as Chad suggested. There it can be turned off or on.
If it doesnt work try also to reinstall the Value Added Package. It controls the special functions like illumination buttons, FN keys, etc.
You can find it on the Toshiba website too.
