8320 help

Hi. So on the screen of my phone, all the way at the top there are tiny little icons. I can't seem to get rid of one of them, which is for the calender reminder. Its a tiny blue square kinda. Can someone help me get rid of it please because its very annoying.

go to Messages > menu > View Folders and check each folder there, especially Browser messages AND WAP Push Messages, and clear all that might present.
Also, try at the top of your main Messages folder > menu > Mark prior opened.

Since I first received my Curve 8320 in Feburary of last year, I've always had to occasionally pull the battery to reboot the phone when it would "Lock Up" and the hour glass would spin.
The frequency with which I have had to do this has steadily increased to the point where I now have to do it daily if not several times a day.  When this happens the hour glass will display and spin.  Sometimes for several minutes, sometimes until I pull the battery or cntrl-alt-del the phone.  I occasionally get a message that the phone application is unavailable, but not always.  Sometimes the phone will ring, and when I answer the screen will stay on the Home Screen, or there is a significant delay between screens changing and the buttons functioning.  Recently the phone just died while in a call.  The screen went black, the phone was unresponsive to the buttons, and would not power on or off.  A battery pull fixed this.  Sometimes the screen will partially or entirely go white.  Mainly the hour glass just spins and spins.  The local T-Mobile store has been no help.
Any ideas on what I can do to get this phone working well again?
I'm in sales and this is the phone I conduct ALL my business on, and therefore I use it ALOT.  It is very annoying, and time consuming to reboot so much.
    Thanks!

I'd like to see what y'all have up your sleeves in regards to the Databases before wiping the device or reloading the OS.
Cool, there's no significant size to your databases, then. Nothing to work with there.
And, your Media card doesn't show significant usage either. I asked that because large usage of the Media Card can create some usage of the device memory, as your device will scan the media card and hold in its memory that image for quickest access to the card, like a drive image, for lack of better terms.
I don't think that is affecting you either.
Now, I do think you need to do as adivsed above. I am betting you will gain 15-20bm of space by doing a complete backup, wipe and reload of the OS, then restoring your data.

  • Really need help for 8320 curve cant open the camera

I bought BB 8320 curve for 3 month and after 2 month later when i open the camara it show "Could not start the camera. Close other applications and try openning the camera again". what can i do with this problem. i have try to take the battery out for a while to restart it but its not work. Any one can help me?

Hi Spacesa and welcome to the forums,
Press the alt escape key (>looks like that) together and it will show you the applications you have running.
Most people close the applications by pressing the escape or red key. This does not close the applications.
Each application has a CLOSE option. For instance if you are in the calendar hit the menu key (spotted key) and scroll down to the bottom CLOSE is listed. Go through each application and press close. Go into the browser press menu and options select cache operations clear all categories and hit escape it will say cleaning memory.
Go to options - security - memory cleaning - enable it. The BB will now clean memory when idle for 5 minutes.
you will have an icon on you screen for memory cleaning make sure you press it. Once you have done this. Pull the battery for about 30 seconds, replace and try your camera, it should work.
Make sure you use the CLOSE button each time you are done with an application. Your camera should be available to you when you like.

  • Help:my 8320 couldnt get Web Access e-mails any more

    Hello Everybody,
Kindly be informed that I have blackberry curve 8320 device and using BIS from Vodafone Turkey.
When i bought it 3 months ago i was getting my webaccess business emails via push mail  from my mobile device regularly.
But what was changed i dont know last week i have an e mail from [email protected] that i must update my password for my webaccess account. So i have tried to update it. But every time it gives a failure message
i have tried lots of combination of my server account names provided by my company but nothing has been changed!, at last i took my device to our IT manager and ask for help. He said that he doesnt know about getting emails by web access from blackberry device.(Becouse our Company has BES from Turkcell (another operator) and gives the blackberry devices to just only Managers).
When i show him my oldest emails from the server, he believed me and tried to help me honestly. He tried lots of combinations to add my email from outlook web access. But he couldnt do anything either.
I have called the Vodafone customer service and they couldnt solve the problem either.
After that, i talk with my friend from our company who uses BB BOLD and getting his mails via exchage server, bingo he told me that he is trying to solve the same problem like me and all the steps are the same, he also took a message to update his pass etc. But the main point is he is using Turkcell BIS. (i am using Vodafone)
So i am thinking that that problem is not belongs to  operators.
Now i am looking for somebody to help me. Just please be informed that i am not a rookie about using blackberry and computer devices.
    Awaiting your kindest replies,

I had the same issue with my blackberry. I contacted my IT Department and discovered that they had recently made an update to OWA on their server. They stated that the Active Synch feature was no longer available because it wasn't able to properly accept the newly requested forms of authentication that was required with OWA 2007 (I think.)

  • Need help with my BlackBerry 8320: it's dead!!!

    Hello
some days ago, I left my BB 8320 on the table, on standby mode, and went to bed. Next morning, it was dead. It doesn't turn on, there's no way. The battery is ok, I even tried another one, the ac charger  too, but it doesn`t work.
If I connect it to the usb, the computer recognizes that a BlackBerry device is plugged BUT, it behaves as if it was alternatively connected / disconnected from the usb port. So the Desktop Manager doesn't recognize any device.
I have a Motorola mobile phone  that suffered the same failure and I could easily reload its internal software. This is what  I'd like to do with my BB, if possible,  but I cannot find what I need: service software and software to flash it into the phone.
I don't even know why it has failed.
¿Can anyone help me in some way?
    thanks

    mines dead too
I feel your pain dude, if I didn't have an exam due in 4 hours I would be more worried about my phone... but this issue may have to wait til tomorrow.
I'm so pissed right now though!

  • Please help its for my girlfriend's 8320

before you all bash please note im not fond of blackberrys (im a iphone user) and i searched and couldnt find my exact problem
well my girlfriend blackberry 8320 wont connect to the computer so i can put music and apps up there or anything for her. im on windows 7 and she has a 4gb mc in it. i have the newest dtm and when i go to plug it up it connect and charger for about 5 secs then it goes away. when i use the same usb on a wall hook up it works fine so i know its not the usb or the port. on the device manager com3 says disconnected. i have no idea what to do please help

(If you never mentioned that you were an iPhone user, we wouldn't have any reason to bash you. Perhaps that is how it works on the iPhone forums?)
    Anyway.
    1. Make sure you are connected to a REAR USB port on the PC, not a front PC port, not a hub.
    2. Make sure have Mass Storage Mode enabled on the media card.

Device operating system releases are "released" by specific carriers once they have certified and trained their support techs, but still, you are able to load to any carrier's same model by following the instructions below.
See the link below, for the download and simple installation instructions.
    https://www.blackberry.com/Downloads/entry.do?code=F1298750ED09618717F9C10EA8D1D3B0
Do a backup of your device first, using Desktop Manager > Backup. Close Desktop Manager upon completion.
    1. Download the OS file to the PC then install it to the PC by running (double clicking) the file you downloaded.
    2. Go to c:\program files\common files\research in motion\apploader and delete the file named "vendor.xml."
    3. Plug in BB and double click on "Loader.exe." It's located in the same place as the above vendor.xml file.

  • Help with my blackberry 8320 PLEASE

I just installed blackberry desktop manager 5.0 then connected my bb 8320 curve, i needed to install the blackberry messenger to my phone so i went to application installation. I've checked the blackberry messenger and pressed next, then during the installation. my phone shuts off and "fatal error" appeared telling me that the installation was not completed. so i turned my phone on and some message appeared in the start up saying that "Uncaught exception: java.lang.NullPointerException" Im scared so i tried my phones applications to see if anything's corrupted. all was ok except for the message. the menu key of my phone is not responding to the message application so i cannot write sms or mms or anything that can be done with the menu key.
Ive looked in the instant messenger and saw the icon of bb messenger, but when i hover it, the name of the application does not shows. so i go to the options > advanced options > applications. to see if the bb messenger was there. but the bb messenger was not listed to the applications.
What can i do to remove this corrupted or incompleted installation of bb messenger? any idea?

You could try uninstalling it again using the desktop manager (DTM). Once you are done, do a battery pull. Then go back and try to reinstall it using DTM. Or you can install it over the air by going to blackberry.com/messenger from your phone's browser. This will install the latest version of messenger available (5.0).

  • Some one help me please for my curve 8320.

    hello,
i bought this used blackberry recently and i have beed trying to setup an email, but i couldnot, when i m in the setup wizard, then in the email setup, it doesnot ask me if i can put my personal email like hotmail, rather it tells me if i have a activation pin, email, and password for  the enterprise server, or the other option is to skip the email setup and will get me back to main menu,
the second thing is when i am trying to login-in in MSN messenger, yahoo messenger, google talk , it tells me "this service is not enabled on this handheld", so anyone can help me in this please.
third thing, can anyone tell me why the gps option in the option>advance option>GPS. is none, no source data and for maps too, .
    thank you in advance

You need to have a username, password and database to connect to. When starting SQL*Plus all 3 fields have to be entered. Do you have that information? If not, ask your DBA.
If you only installed SQL*Plus on your PC, you do not have a database on your PC. You need to install a database too, if you do not have access to another database on the network.
To install a database, run the Oracle 9i installer and let the installer set up the demo databae automatically.

  • URGENT HELP REQUIRED FOR BLACKBERRY MESSENGER ON CURVE 8320

Can anyone out there please help me.  I have two invitations to join Blackberry Messenger that tells me where to go and download the software.  When I try to download the 4.0 and 4.1 latest software, I get the error message that my phone is not able to do so.
I also tried to download via the Internet and Iget the same error message, can anyone help as I am in love with my smartphone and my wife is jealous that I give the phone more attention than she ever got.
Also can I type mails or send SMS through the Roxio desktop Interface?  I do that easily with my Nokia PC Suite but it seems impossible with my BlackBerry.
    Please help.

Hi and welcome to the forums!
There is no text option in Roxio media manager, it's sole function is to manage your media between PC and BB.
Do you have a data services Package with your carrier, as well as a text package?

  • Help, web browser is locking up my 8320!

So I have no clue whats going on.  I was in the webbrowser trying to figure out how to organize my bookmarks.  I never actually got a chance to do anything other than access the help on the phone for how to delete a bookmark.  I exited out of the help screen, and the broswer closed.  When I started the browser up again, I got just a white screen with the following error message coming up in a dialog box:
Uncaught exception: invisible node cannot be made current
There is an "ok" botton under that, but I can't click it to clear the screen.  Eventually it exits to the desktop of the phone, but the error message is still displayed. Seem the only way to clear this message is to remove the battery and reinstall it.  But it only works until I try the web application again. HELP!!!

Hi, Im a bet stressed out i just got the blackberry Curve 8320 from Tmobile and realized it has no Video recording however the person that sold it to me says they downloaded a program like a converter or something and they used to have video recording on it.  Can you please tell me how i can get video recording on mine Please. Thank you.

to use video you need an upgrade. The name is handheld device software OS. I believe you have 4.2. 4.5 is required.
You have to wait for TMobile to release the 4.5 OS.

Hi and welcome to the forums!
Sorry to hear about the screen. If you have insurance with the carrier, I'd have it replaced.
If not you can either send it out or replace the display yourself.
I have left a link to a repair video as well as a reputable place for repair.
It's up to you, personally I would send it for repair.
