8330 Restarts after 20 min of media player

As the Subject says, I have the Curve 8330 on Telus network, and while I listen to my music (media card) my phone reboots after 20 minutes.
I always close any windows and apps that are running besides the "now playing" and any essential ones.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Hi and Welcome to the Forums!
Sorry if you've done this, but just to be sure...when you say that you close apps, how exactly do you do that? If you use the back or the red key, then that does not necessarily properly close apps...those keys leave it up the app to decide what to do and some remain resident. The best way to be sure that apps are fully closed is to press the BBKey and select "Close" or "Exit"...that truly forces apps to fully close (leaving open only the minimum required apps -- 5 of them I think on most models).
If you do close apps properly and this still happens, then I suggest investigating if your carrier has released an updated OS for your device that may well contain fixes for this issue. You can find your carriers download site via this portal:

  • Mac mini as media player for HD content ?

    hi
i am looking for the best affordable solution for HD projection.
i will be shooting and editing a 18min video, probably on sony xdcam ex1 editing on my g5 fcp 6 system. i don't want to down-convert for projection and am considering to buy a mac mini and project a .mov file compressed with h264. any experience ? can quicktime project full resolution, full screen and in loop ? since i am not burning to dvd, can i use higher than the allowed bit-rate in order to get the best possible quality ? if i connect the mini to the projector using dvi to hdmi, will i be losing quality ?
any suggestions and comments will be much appreciated...
    nir

A DVI to HDMI connector requires a dual link DVI end for some or a single link for others. I don't know what the mini uses.
One is 24 pins and the other is 18 pins.
If that is what you are using, then make certain you get the right one.
and if this is a DVI, remember you need separate audio outputs for sound.
A DVI cable won't carry sound

  • Windows Media Player stopped working

After the install of After Effects CS4, windows media player no longer works. I'm thinking it has something to do with Adobe Media Player now on the system. Anyone have a solution for this?
    Thank you for your time.

AMP should not have to do anything with it, more likely it's the Adobe Media Encoder. Probably it disabled a specific CoDec that previously was used for MPEG-II playback and such. Or you had a CoDec pack or something on your system that threw things off track. In any case, it should be possible to reinstall Windows Media Player by downloading the standalone installer from Microsoft. If you had any CoDec packs installed, uninstalling them may also already solve the issues.

  • Is there some way one can change the port used by Adobe Media Player?

After I installed Adobe Media Player I am unable to access my IIS web site. Is there a way to hook-up Adobe Media Player to another port? I guess the problem started after installing Adobe Media Player.

Because I've my original response I've been getting email updates about this topic and decided to install Adobe Media Player and test myself.
On my main system (Windows XP SP3) IIS is not blocked when installing and running Adobe Media Player.  I suspect your problem may be related to something else entirely.  (Flash Media Server or frankly any other httpd could cause the issue you're experiencing).  (I can watch videos with the player and concurrently debug websites using http://localhost, http://localdomain:80 as well as http://localhost:80
I'd try to pin down exactly when the problem started happening and see what was installed.  It's also worth noting that there are a lot of malware programs that monitor / intercept and direct traffic on port 80, this can cause all sorts of havoc on XP with IIS.
If you happen to find that it is indeed Flash Media Server, their forums are here: http://forums.adobe.com/community/flash/flash_media_server
    Just my 2 cents

  • Audigy2 ZS produces crackling/popping noise if Media player is not started as the first prog

    Hello all!
I have had lots of problems installing my Audigy2 ZS Video Editor, but I have finally got it to work (at least under limited conditions).
When I start my laptop, I have to start Windows Media Player right away in order for the music to sound OK (I have the Audigy2 connected to a Pioneer receiver through a digital coax cable).
If I start any other program first (e.g., Microsoft Explorer, Outlook, Word, quicktime) sound from the soundcard is heavily contaminated with crackling, popping and just general noise. The only way to get it to work again is to reboot.
The same problem occurs if I start another media program e.g., Quicktime, winamp, (after having started Windows Media Player) that accesses the soundcard. The only way to get good sound again is to reboot and immediately start Microsoft Media Player.
I have tried lots of things including cleensweep, re-installation, driver update etc. etc...
What is the problem? Is there a cure? Can I adjust some settings to get it to work or is it a serious bug?
If anyone knows what may be the problem and how to solve it, please advise!!!
    Thanks!!

    Genki,
Try muting the Wave and/or Line/Mic/VideoIn in the Creative Surround Mixer to see if that hel

  • Small issue with media player after install of 4.5 OS

I have the BB Curve 8330 and recently upgraded the OS to the new 4.5.0.56
So before the upgrade I could be listening to tunes and when a call or email or message came in the tunes would only stop during the notification. Now however the tunes will not restart and I have to manually navigate back to the media player.

  • Windows Media Player Crashes straight after starting program.

    Hi Guys,
Can Anybpody help me resolve the followiung  ....
    I am running Windows 8.1 x64 on my unit (M6 Envy 1205sa).
I am facing the following problem:

    Hello again @J-Singh,
I have a couple other suggestions for you to try to fix your Windows Media Player. First to lets try removing Windows Media Player and putting it back to see if it helps. As Windows Media Player is part of your Windows operating system it is not removed and added in the traditional sense, but a feature of the operating system you can remove and put back. Please follow the steps I have set out below to remove and put Windows Media Player back:
Step 1. At your Tiles Menu type "control panel"
Step 2. Click on Control Panel
Step 3. Click on Programs and Features
Step 4. Click on Turn Windows features on or off
Step 5. Click on the + beside Media Features
Step 6. Uncheck the check mark in the check box beside Windows Media Player
Step 7. You will receive a warning message simply click 'Yes'
***It will take a bit of time, but once it is finished removing Windows Media Player restart your computer.
To turn the Windows Media Player feature back on simply follow the steps above only put the check mark back in the check box.
Now if  the above steps do not work we are going to try to fix any corrupted files on your computer. To do this follow the steps I have set out below:
Step 1. At your Tiles Menu type "command prompt"
Step 2. Right-click on Command Prompt
Step 3. Click on Run as administrator
Step 4. Type "sfc /scannow" and hit Enter
***This will take a bit let it run it's course
Now the above steps will look for any corrupt files in your operating system and fix them. If they do not resolve your issue it could be with a file that is not part of the operating system in which case I would like you to follow the next set of steps below:
    Step 1. Open My Computer
Step 2. Right-click on C: and choose Properties
Step 3. Click on the Tools Tab
***Windows may tell you that you don’t need to scan the drive, as Windows hasn’t found any errors on the drive. Ignore it and continue
    Step 4. Click Scan Drive
***Windows may tell you about any problems it encounters and asks for your permission to fix them. Go right ahead and have it fix them.
After you have checked your disc for errors ensure that you restart your computer.
Now it none of the above work the only thing left it to backup and recover your operating system back to factory settings. To backup your personal information and ensure that it is not lost I would like you to review and follow the steps set out in the HP Support document: Backing Up Your Files (Windows 8), which will ensure your personal files are up to date.
***WARNING!! If you want to keep any emails or bookmarks/favorites you will want to back those up as well as I do not believe they are backed up in the HP Backup process.
Next, I would like you to review and follow the steps set out in the HP Support document: Performing an HP System Recovery (Windows 8), which will you through recovering your computer back to factory settings.
*** IMPORTANT - Your personal files such as libraries, personalization settings, user accounts, and desktop themes are permanently removed. As well the computer settings are returned to the defaults (the way it was when it came from the factory). All apps and software that were installed on the computer when it came from the factory are reinstalled, and their settings are reset to the defaults. Additionally, software, apps, programs, and everything that you have installed or saved on the computer are permanently removed.
I would like to thank you for posting on the HP Forums. Have a great day!
Please click the "Thumbs Up" on the bottom right of this post to say thank you if you appreciate the support I provide!

  • *FIXXED* Issues updating firmware on Creative ZEN portable devices after installing Media Player

<font face="Times New Roman" size="2">?Quote from windows website ?If you have a Creative ZEN device, see http://www.microsoft.com/windows/windowsmedia/player//readme.aspx#RollingbacktoapreviousversionofthePlay er Read the ?Rolling back to a previous version of the Player? instructions (by the way windows website is even willing to address the problems with creatives products. And they offer possible solutions)
*Some people said this was all you needed to do but it did not work for me.
    2. I uninstalled every program which mentioned creative.
    a. Click my computer
    b.click Add / Remove programs
    c. Find anything that is made by creative and uninstall (or if you hate creative as much as me just look for anything that says creative or might hint at being a creative product)
3.Go into My Computer / Program Files? and delete the folder named ?creative?
4.Click ?Start? Click ?run? type in ?MSCONFIGOK? on the tabs click ?Services? then click on ?manufacturer? and uncheck anything that says Creative, click ?service? and also uncheck anything which mentions creative? if you think it has to do with creative technologies ltd. *RESTART*
Tried to load firmware again... ?Nothing
    5. Installed old software from ?creative zen touch? & ?Creative Media Source? from the Creative Zen Touch CD. On both just did the full install. They congratulated me on my purchase of my zen touch! They could have?congratulated me on burning 250$. *Restarted
    *THIS IS THE KEY*************
    6. Download Microsoft media player 0 from some website, I used oldversion.com
    http://www.oldversion.com/download.p...e4e5bbb7694ded?
    7. I then updated windows media player ten... just updates for 0 I didn't install .
    8. On this WINDOWS site http://www.microsoft.com/windows/win...dme.aspx#57877 click on and read ?Issues with devices after removing Windows Media Player?. When you are done with the procedure of deleting and reinstalling your the portable device I plugged in my mp3 player and it recognized it's not a big shock because it recognized it as a zen touch before I deleted the drivers. So I got the new drivers it noticed it, just like other systems noticed, but this time the Creative horribly programmed firmware update recognized it. I will never buy another creative product again, probably most of you wont either. But I have already paid the money for this product so I plan on using it until the battery dies on me. Hope this helps!

  • Quicktime won't open after installing windows media player

i just added media player, and quick time will not play anything. anybody else have this problem, and any suggestions out there? thank you.

Did you repair permissions & restart after the installation? If so, then try Flip4Mac and/or VLC media player instead of Windows Media Player.
Don't forget to repair permissions afterward the installation(s).

    Hi @TheSeeker99 ,
    Welcome to the HP Forums!
It is a great  place to find answers and tips!
For you to have the best experience in the HP forum I would like to direct your attention to the HP Forums Guide Learn How to Post and More
I understand you are having an issue with ripping music with the Windows media player.  As this is a Microsoft program HP does not support it directly.
I would suggest you try uninstalling the Windows Media Player  and then download and reinstall the program.
Here is a link to  Get Windows Media Player from the windows.microsoft.com website.  It does states that for Windows 8.1 you should have Windows Media Player 12.
    Good Luck!

Photo Problem:  When you opened the picture and then deleted it , the picture was still in memory and when the menu tried to go back one step the picture was no longer there so reset the phone.  Bug? Don't know, I would suggest that if you want to delete files do so in list view not whilst viewing the file you want to delete.  If you tried to do this in windows it would give you an error messaeg something like "this file is in use"
Media PLayer Problem:  This could be down to Software, it could also be down to a memory card read error.
Try taking card out and using a memory card reader check that all files are readable.  If one of the files is corrupt the media player may be trying to look for files to add to playlist and when it gets to the corrupt one bombs out.

    Agree with Richard:
-Your device needs both the CR and LF. To accomplish this:
option 1: Concatenate the "end of line" string constant (this is a combination of CR and LF, located in the string pallete) to all your outgoing commands. Make sure in the "Visa configure serial port" the "Termination character enable" flag is false.
option 2: Concatenate only a CR to your command's strings. Make sure in the "Visa configure serial port" the "Termination character enable" flag is TRUE AND that the termination character is set to 10 (meaning LF) which I think is the default.
Details can be seen in this link:
    http://digital.ni.com/public.nsf/allkb/862567530005F09C862565BE005AB500
"Adding Termination Characters to VISA Serial Writes in LabVIEW"
Interesting would be to configure the serial port to accept not one but two termination characters. The above links refers to the document "Developer Zone Tutorial: Termination Characters in NI-VISA.", where this is supposed to be possible. The document however is 404'ed.
If someone find a working link please post it.
