8350 I acting squirrely since downloading OS update

All sorts of unhappy things are going on since I updated my operating system. Perhaps the most annoying is the fact that I can no longer use every song in my song library as a potential ringtone. I had carefully chosen appropriate ringtones for individuals, and now all of that is gone. It sucks. Another major annoyance is the fact that old facebook notifications are stuck in my list of calls, e mails, facebooks.....and no amount of coaxing will remove them. I have tried the remove-the-battery solution, and even that doesn't work. I would consider uninstalling the facebook app, and re installing it, but that's a major pain, and if it didn't work, I'd be twice as frustrated as I am now. If there is a solution, please let me know IN SIMPLE PLAIN ENGLISH. I do not speak RIM technobabble.

My MBP has been acting odd since installing N wireless update.

Since installing the N wireless protocol on my MBP my machine has been acting weird. It fails to see wireless networks, the system preferences fails to open at times. OSX freezes, Force quit doesn't actually quit the programs after they have frozen. Basically its so bad i am thinking about re-formatting my machine and starting again, (its only a week old)
Am I the only one who has this?

I did notice something else, don't know if it makes sense or not, but if the mac crashes while connected to my Airport Express at home, the Airport Express stops responding and all of the clients that are connected to it stop getting access to the Internet until I unplug it and plug it back in.
When the issue first arose, I thought it was a problem with the AP express, but since it happens even more frequently when using other routers, I know that is not the issue. Besides, everything was fine until I installed the Wireless-N update. I wonder if there is any way to remove the update?
I'll keep playing with it, but hopefully they find a solution soon. Being that our problem is exactly the same, I would be surprised if no one else is having this issue as well.

Why did my outgoing email start acting up since I did latest update?

ever since I did the OSX update 10.8.5 my outgoing email has become very eratic. Incoming email is no problem. I keep getting this message
"connections to the host on the default ports failed. Please try another server"
this happens about 2 out of every 3 atempts to send email. It was never a problem prior to the OS unpdate. 1 out of every 3 sent emails go through without any issues

My pointer arrow is jumping around. my windows flip. i can't close windows--there are no 3 colored dots.i don't use a mouse. i just downloaded Lion and my mac has been acting weird since.

I work for Dr Pod, an iPod repair company. This sounds to be that the hard drive is dying in the iPod. As it is an older iPod it is out of its one year warranty, the iPod won't be repaired for free by Apple, and you'd need to consider wether it'd be better to have the iPod repaired by an iPod repair company such as my own, or to purchase a new one from Apple.
If you did choose to purchase a new iPod from Apple, then they do provide 10% off the cost of a new iPod if you exchange in your old one. I'm not sure if this applies to faulty ones though (I have heard of some people being turned away for having a faulty device).

Need help phones acting up since update

ever since the last system update, every single text i get comes in two's and its quite annoying, also my touch screen is acting up, ill try and write messages and it just glitches out like crazy, any input would be great thanks!

Flickr upload from iPhoto acting weird since last update

I am currently uploading photos to Flickr on a regular basis.
however since iPhoto's latest update (the one that changed the look of icons in the sidebar...) I am seeing constant problems with uploads. They usually get stuck very shortly after they started. As I am writing this, an upload is stuck at "time remaining: 2 minutes" and has been for over 10 minutes for an upload of just 20 small-sized pics. When the upload is smaller, it gets stuck at the "Pending" state forever (I've left iPhoto running in the background for several hours and it was still stuck at that level after 4 hours).
anyone else experiencing this?
any idea or help appreciated
Note: my iPhoto library is in my Dropbox and I am running iPhoto 9.1.5 on Snow Leopard 10.6.8

I'm having the same problem. Whenever I try to use iPhoto to upload photos to Flickr, it takes a loooooong time, gets hung up a lot, is forever "pending" and is just a huge waste of time! Really frustrating.
I'm running OSX, 10.6.8 and I'm using iPhoto '11 version 9.1.5. I'm uploading the photos at full resolution (3648x2746px), which obviously is going to take longer than uploading smaller versions, but it's not THAT big - shouldn't take all day. At first I thought this problem might be related to some kind of problems with internet connection, but I've tried in a lot of different places, including at home, where i have a great internet connection and normally no problems.
I've been struggling with this for a few months and it's totally driving me nuts - if I can't figure this out soon, I am going to quit using iPhoto entirely.
Does anybody use iPhoto with Flickr successfully?

TS4079 Since the latest IOS update Siri is not working correctly on my IPhone 4S. What happened?

Any help in understanding why Siri is not working properly would be most appreciated. Siri has not been working properly since I received the update to iOS 6.0. Siri acts as though it is looking for an answer or making an appointment for several minutes , but never answers the questions, makes the appointment, or Siri give nonsense answers. As of this moment, Siri is of no use to me at all.

Try these steps in order
-Restart iPad
-Hard reset(Hold power and home button until it restarts)
-Backup and restore
After the restore, set it up as new iPad. That way we can tell if it is the software or a hardware issue.

Apple would "not" replace my Iphone 5 till went to dealer and had my bluetooth on u connect system updated. Advisor acted like I just come from the planet Mars when I told him what I needed. So a tech advisor went with to my vehicle and connect his 4S then went and about a minute flat "paired" my iphone 5! I seen him go through a step that even the manufacter's manual did not even mention to "pair" an iphone using bluetooth! I then asked what he had done and so he showed me to successfully start the "pairing" process the four digit code he used for the u connect and on the iphone screen came up displaying u connect and just to the right it says "not" paired. I had been there around twenty times myself! He then pressed the "not paired" display and when he did the keypad popped up and the advisor put in the "same" four didgit code that he originally had used to start the pairing in uconnect and then press the "complete or done" button on the iphone keypad after doing this the u connect displays "pairing process has begun" and less than a minute it did! All the phones including my 4GS I "never" had to do that and I had "never" had a pairing problem before so to me it must the new IOS 6 system!

Can you start QuickTime on your computer?
You'll probably have to search for the Windows Installer Cleanup Utility and use it to remove QuickTime Player and iTunes. Then download and install the iTunes again.

You may have many apps open which can possibly cause the slowdown and possibly the loss of wifi. Check to see if Safari is running in 32 bit mode. Right or control click the Safari icon in your Applications folder then click Get Info. If the box next to: Open in 32 bit mode is selected, deselect, quit then relaunch Safari to test.
If that wasn't the issue, try using OpenDNS.
Use OpenDNS for better speed, more security, prevents the, "can't connect to server" issue, includes anti phishing filters, prevents browser re directs, and it's free.
Open System Preferences / Preferences then select the Network tab. Click the Advanced tab then click the DNS tab.
Click +
Enter these addresses exactly as you see them here.

Then click OK.

I don't know why this faulty code is referencing things to do with "chrome"... the Chrome browser is not installed on this PC or anywhere on our network.
Also, this is not the first problem I had after clicking Firefox's prompt for the latest update. Before Firefox retreated into this error message, it was loading but running with some faults...
1. the bookmark symbol was not appearing on the right hand side of the URL line, so I had always to click on "bookmark this page", after which the bookmark symbol did appear; however I don't know if the bookmarking function worked properly.
2. the back and forward buttons were not highlighted, as if I had not come from a previous page; so once I clicked on a link to a new page I could not go back to where I came from because Fiefox thought I hadn't come from anywhere.
3. there may have been other errors, but I did not find them.
How do I reinstate my Firefox program to work properly please? do I have to download the latest version and reinstal? if so, do I have to remove the old version first? or is there a fix?
Even to write this message I have been forced to use (yuk -- I don't like to say this!!!) Internet Explorer. So please -- I need help urgently.

Some how I solved my problem by opening a user account and downloading Firefox 4.0 beta and installing it, I did try it, worked fine, so I did close the user account and did go back to my own account(switched user), the main page that I had problem with Firefox which would not open, I dabble click on Firefox it start working again!! I hope that solves your problem too.

Why do I constantly have to restart my phone daily since the 4.3 update and why are there zero answers or help from Verizon or Samsung?

Ever since the 4.3 update, which I waited until end of January 2014 to download, My phone has been messed up. Some of the problems I solved on my own since Verizon and Samsung both refused to help me. I fixed the charging problem by using an HTC Incredible charger since Samsung's charger is garbage since the update. Battery drain is also a constant issue. Ram is ALWAYS full which should be a good thing but clearing it out completely and killing off all Google apps seems to make my phone all of a sudden fly and work super fast. As the day goes on I am unable to clear all of these unwanted items from being open and bogging down my phone. Most of the apps doing this are the preloaded ones you don't need. I am forced to restart my phone to get the memory cleared at least 2-4 times a day. Verizon tells me this is normal. Samsung hangs up on me when I call. Why do I have to restart this phone just to get it to work like it should after a few hours of being on? Does Verizon care about customers or just money?

@Verizon Wireless Customer Support. I have the 4.3 version that I got with the awful update. I waited until the end of January to download it and guess what was never fixed? Your update. Its been months and battery drain is not better at all. I have replaced with a new battery and it was the same problem. I have used safe mode numerous times and it does not do anything either other than annoy me some more. I have done a factory reset on my phone since the update I downloaded in January 47 times so far. It didn't do anything but erase everything and I had to start all over. Google apps are a major reason my phone is lagging. Once I force stop them the phone has incredible speed, when the Google apps are on, the phone lags. The internet browser is also super slow. 56k dial up has faster speeds than my mobile browser and I have full 4g lte bars. Its beyond annoying because when ever I call Verizon customer service I am told nothing is wrong. If I break the phone into a million pieces you would still tell me its working properly. You can continue to use the current AppleID for iTunes, but your husband can create a new AppleID to use to create a new iCloud account that will be his own and not overlap with yours. If you do not have another email address to use for an AppleID, just get a free Gmail account and use that.
You can have as many AppleIDs as you want (or at least, as many as you have email addresses for). You can use a separate AppleID for the store, another for iCloud, and even another for iMessage if you wish.
You will want to keep the current one as the shared one for the store as all your previous purchases are permanently tied to it, and thus you need that AppleID to update or redownload your current purchased content.

I noticed that google was the app that was using it a lot, but after I turned the feature off for google my phone started using the “traffic”, “frequent locations” and “cell network search”. When I turn the feature off for all of those things it’s no longer a problem. So just wondering if anyone else is having this issue or if anyone has a solution?

The "solution" is probably to increase your knowledge. You've done good things. Perhaps this article will educate you a bit more about location services.
Basically, they can be very useful, but can cause a lot of iPhone use. A major example is "Remind me to ... when I leave home."
