845g-max temp reading

it seems liek ti is way off it say 50 degrees celcius for a 2.26ghz processor with stock heatsink its suppose to runn about 45 at most.  i even used some artic sliver is this a known issue or anything.  I hope i dont have to go looking for a ogod performing quite heatsink cause thats always a pain.

Yes is a little high for me. I have a [email protected] - 1.60 Volt - Alpha Heatsink - 5000rpm Fan with the 845G-Max-L, and my temp Idle is 38C and over full load 46C
You should take a look in the casa temp, or proably your room temp. Did you try to leave the case open??

  • 655 Max temp reading

Just switched to the MSI 655Max mb, and when I look at my temp readings, they can go up to 35 from 30 in just one second...and down from 35 to 32 in one second. It wasnt like this with my old mainboard with a athlon cpu.

Check Bios for more accurate readings.
    Try this utility also..

  • 845G Max problem

My system is running fine at default speed. When it's overclocked to 133MHz FSB, it will always crash at the same spot when booting into Windows. That's when I use the Intel built-in graphics card.
When I use the TNT2, it will only boot into Windows in safe mode at 133MHz. And I see a lot of conflicts in the display card properties, i845G something, can't remember.
There's no option to properly disable the built in AGP. And why is it not working at 133MHz, I thought at 133MHz, everything is running at default speed, right?
    Here's my system specs:
    P4 1.8A
    MSI i845G Max
    Corsair PC2700 RAM
    Creative TNT2 (when I test)
    DLink NIC
BTW, the same processor works fine when it's overclocked to 145MHz FSB using MSI 645DX.

My RAM is a PC2700, even if I change the ratio, it is still within the RAM spec.
Intel Extreme is extremely stable at 100MHz FSB as stated earlier. It will crash at the same spot when booting into Windows at 133MHz FSB.
I tested using a TNT2. It won't even boot into Windows at 100MHz FSB. But using safe mode, TNT2 works fine at 133MHz FSB. But when I checked the display properties, there's a lot of conflicts in between the Intel Extreme and TNT2.
Now my question is, why I can't use my TNT2 even at 100MHz? It was working fine using another MSI 845G Max before I sent for RMA.
Why Intel Extreme doesn't work at 133MHz FSB? I've tried all the memory timings, ratio FYI. It has nothing to do with RAM timings I'm afraid. I tested the same RAM on my KT3. 166MHz at agressive timings run perfectly well.

  • 845G Max L (MS-6580G) Bios 1.40 Issue

    I ran MSI's Live Update 2 and downloaded bios 1.40 for my 845G Max L (MS-6580G).
When I went to run it I got a strange warning and it tried to locate some sort of DOS files.. what is up with this? Is this a beta bios? Is this a mistake?
If not, what is it trying to do? I chose to ignore the error and it did flash my machine, but I am unsure of what it might have missed.
    Please Help!

Unless while downloading the bios you chose to save it to c:\dos rather than the default program files\.....
But even then the scrips checks the files's existance befor actually attempting to flash from the HDD, if it fails to find them it will go on to flash from RAMDRIVE.

  • 845g max with sb audigy

Yesterday i installed my new mainboard 845g max, and put in my old sb-audigy player.
It installs but then it is not recognised by the system later on, also when I try to update the drivers, it says that no audigy is installed. ALso after booting again, it says twice that the audiodevice is not installed properly.
I tried several slots, all with same result......
    os is ME latest updates..
Bios is 1.2 (haven't got fdd installed)
    512mb
    p4 2,26 533

I did install the inf's first the cd version and later the updates....
    Didn't work either.
Found a lot of similar problems concerning audigy with kt7 boards....
Seems creative is preparing a major driverupdate of 50 mb.
I tried xp yesterday, same problem, when I installed the latest inf-file, computer resets and has irrecoverable error....Finally I gave up, I will use the onboard sound for a while until creative updates the drivers...
    thanks for suggestions :]

  • 845G MAX L

    MSI MOTHERBOARD 845G MAX etc
    BIOS 1.4
Keyboard microsoft internet PS2 or/also in USB
With PS2 keyboard and direct pressing sleep button
    PC reset itself.
With USB keyboard I get a warning that there is something wrong with the keyboard driver.
This happens only with this MOBO.
Never press the sleep button is an option, but not the right one.
Is it depending from BIOS settings . I tries different one but no solution.
    Anyone ideas?

Suspend issues are mostly caused by drivers (chipset drivers and VGA drivers mostly).
Install the intel inf and try changing VGA drivers.

  • 90nm & XP-90 H/S - What's your Max Temps?

If you have a 90nm (Winchester) CPU & a Thermalright XP-90 H/S, I'd like to know what kind of max temps you're getting.... so I can get an idea if I am in the "normal" range.
I'm currently getting 52 - 53C on just under 1.5v and I think that it should be better, as I have a sneaking suspicion that I have actually applied too little Artic Silver!
    Lemme know

Airflow is perfect. I have an Antec Twelve Hundred, which, if you're familiar with it, is a BEAST for air flow.
My theory was my computer never blue screened, or became unresponsive, so that's a good sign at least.

  • Idle/Max Temps for Intel Core i7-930

Pretty much what it says. I've been scouring the web for the past half hour trying to find definitive idle/max temps for my proc and I've yet to see anything "official".
I have an aftermarket cooler on it, and at idle, it's sitting between 37-39C. After running Core Damage(a brutal CPU stresser) for a few minutes, it peaked, and stayed at 74C.
Just wanted some opinions from some of the other tech heads on here, as to whether that's acceptable or not.

  • 845G Max-L Memory Compatibility

Could anyone tell me if Corsair 2700XMS / 3200XMS memory is compatible with 845G Max?  ?(

LSU What BIOS Ver u using?....
I have just purchased 2 x 512MB Corsair XMS2700 running at 166Mhz.  With one stick works fine (I have checked boths sticks individually).   However when I place the 2nd stick into DIMM 3 (as per DIMM config diagram) the machine either fails to boot or hangs...  I must admit I haven't tested the second DIMM into DIMM2, but I'm not holding my breath...  I have checked the video card too...  Placed in my Radeon 9700 locks and also placed in my GF4 Ti4600 and locks too...  With one stick (either of them) is fine...  One more note I have tried running at 133Mhz too and I still get the same problem...
is it with MSI, can't they release a board that actually works reliably...

  • 845G Max-L MS6580 ??

I am building a machine for a friend for general use and the odd gaming and I've been offered the '845G Max-L Ms6580' to buy from a guy.
I don't know much about the mobo but it will be going with a P4 North 1.8Ghz.
    My question's are:
    1) Is this board still being made i.e. still producing & selling or is there a new Model of the board out.
    2) Is it worth getting? £60 or $95
    3) Should I get a different board?
Because of a budget, I need to spend as little on a mobo as I can.
    Any help would be great.
    Cheers.

IMO.... Id get the 845GE Series because it offically
    supports DDR 266 & 333.
I just ordered the 845PE for myself which is basically
the same as the 845GE w/o the GrafX controller built in.

  • DDR 333mhz on 845G MAX?

I don't know what speed mememory my 845G Max mobo is capable to handle.  The manual says it handles the 260 speed, but not 333.  The web site said something that it does.  I am confused... If someone could tell me what's the top capabilities that would be awesome!  Thanks

If using a CPU with 533MHz FSB it can support DDR333 however i is unofficial as intel do not claim DDR333 support for the chipset.

  • 845g max processor support?

do you know what processor i can go up to on the 845g max?i now have pentium 4 2.26 my manual says pentium 2.4 and up.but how far up?

Depends what you are doing and what else you have in your computer.
Usually a memory or VGA card upgrade will give a better preformance boost than a CPU upgrade.

  • 845G Max 2GB RAM... How?

Under the specs for the 845G Max board, it states that it can hold up to 2GB RAM.  The board also states that the most it can have in each slot is 512MB... There are only three slots on this board.  Where am I going to put another 512 stick at?  Or is it incorrectly labled and can hold up 1GB in each slot?

    http://global.msi.com.tw/index.php?func=proddesc&prod_no=489&maincat_no=1&cat2_no=&cat3_no=
    Link to 845G Max
States only 3 slots and max module per slot is 512Mb.
The 845GE Max can support 2Gb and is a great mainboard, especially with IAA software..........
    So which do you have?

  • K7N2 Delta-L temp reading and Vcore

Ok so i took the plunge and bought a K7N2 Delta-L. I using PC alert 4 to read the temp and the vcore setting. Now my question is is the temp off to some degree? I read 127F under full load and my case is HELLLLLA cooled.
Another thing is in my bios i have my Vcore set to to HW. Now if im not mistaken doesnt a 2000Xp run at 1.75V? In PC Alert and in Sandra my Vcore is showing 1.81 max.
Im new to the board, so any help will be great.
I have the lastest Bios and nForce drivers. Updated with Live Update.

I started using Speedfan and my temp dropped to about 98F in idle and about 110 with CPU full load.
Im using 4 case fans with a Zalman 3000Plus. I was worried thinking my puter was overheated, but was little thrown by the nice cool air coming from the back and top exhaust.
I wasnt however able to get the Vcore to change. I tried the trick with Cmos and tried the power off PS switch off trick but still shows the same volt in Speedfan. BTW Speedfan was exact on temp reading, was exact same reading from PC health in Bios.
As for cpu, I cant remeber which mine was, its a Green wafer with the code stamped on the chip, not off to the side. ARIOA i belive was the code on the chip.
