8500 landscape mode in Photoshop does not work
In photoshop, when I print in landscape mode, it only prints in portrait. I have changed all the settings in the printer preferences and the preview always stays in portrait. I just used the same photoshop image in my old 7300 printer and it works just fine on another computer. The only way I was able to do it OK was to save in pdf and then print "automatically" to fit.
Is there any other solution in Photoshop?
Open as layers only works for Photoshop.
There is a plugin available Elemental - Integrating Photoshop Elements with Lightroom that will include that functionality for Elements.

Please try:
Keep Ctrl + Alt + Shift keys pressed while launching PSE13 Editor and click OK on the dialog that comes next.

Photoshop does not work after update
Was on phone to help for 77 minutes - did not solve problem
PC - Windows 8.1
Did most recent update of Photoshop 2014
Relaunched PS got this message
3. Clicked OK got
4. Clicked Check online . . .
5. Window closed nothing happened
6. Uninstalled and reinstalled PS
7. Went to Adobe and read what I should download and where to place. Did it - no change
8. Called Amazon after 25 min wait ended up talking to a woman for 77 minutes and she took over my computer did a lot of changes. Nothing worked
9. She then uninstalled program and had me reboot. I informed her when I rebooted it would disconnect my phone and she said she would call back. She did but before the reboot. So will have to start from the beginning on the phone another 2 hrs wasted.
10. I re-installed the program and nothing has changed.

Please follow the below mentioned steps let me know if they work:
1. Uninstall current Ps CC app, If there are any issues with CC uninstall then run the Cleaner tool to remove Ps CC :http://www.adobe.com/support/contact/cscleanertool.html .
2. Restart your system
2. Install Ps CC app from Creative Cloud
3. Do not launch Ps
4. Update to 14.1.2 via the Creative Cloud desktop application
5. Once the updates are successfully applied, Launch Ps CC to verify.
If it does not work please let me know, I would try to resolve it over a connect session.

Ssh tunnel mode on Leopard does not work
Hi folks,
I have set up ssh tunnel mode (tunnels opened with "ssh -w 0:0 ..." makes SSH create the necessary tunX interfaces on its own) from my linux boxes to certain servers, and it works well.
But using "ssh -w 0:0" on Leopard client leads to
debug1: systunopen: /dev/tun0 open failed: No such file or directory<<</div>
So it seems - although the ssh man page describes it thus - that creating tun interfaces on Leopard does not work.
By the way, omitting the interface numbers for the tun interfaces on both sides ("ssh -w" instead of "ssh -w 0:0") leads to "Bad tun device" although that as well is documented in the ssh man page as working (and on linux it does).
Has anybody ever tried this on MacOS X in general and Leopard in particular?Dirk,
I have run into the same issue, however I had ssh tunnels running between several macs before Dec 7 2008. But for some reason it broke on that day. Have been running remote rsync backups of the User data. Can give you the syntax if you want. But my point is it looks like this is a break in the OSX Unix system vs them just not being there as this was working prior to the 7th for several months.
Am working with Apple to get this resolved but in the mean time where did you find the tun/tap drivers? I have some for Open VPN that I have been playing with on another machine but dunno if they will work or not. -
Photoshop does not work properly
we purchased Adobe elemnets 13, but it was for students. The store hard downloaded it and said we had to put personal info in but then we saw it was for students and we are not. We returned it and they gave us the standard Photoshop but it does not seem to work fully. It only has screens to change colours. Should we delete all the files as the previous may still be there that they put on and re install it ?

Landscape in RTF template does not work
Hi,
I try to generate an XLS (Excel) document from a RTF template built with Word and the BIP Desktop tool.
Before saving the RTF template, I go in page setup and set the layout to "landscape".
When I generate the final document, and open it in Excel, if I go to preview the document is in portrait mode, not landscape.
How can I do to have the landscape mode ?

My screen saver on my MacBook Pro stopped working. I have rebooted and tried resetting the screen saver, still not working.
We are going to delete a hidden file.
Finder > Go Menu > Go to Folder and type or paste
~/Library/Preferences
and scroll down until you see
com.apple.systempreferences.plist
drag the one you can (may see two) to the Trash, reboot, reset your System Preferences again. -
Screensaver / sleep mode password protection does not work

I am running 10.6.4 and have enabled screen saver and sleep mode password protection from System Preferences / Security / General / Require password immediately after sleep or screen saver begins.
I have also selected some screen saver - Cosmos. Now, from terminal when I check the settings:

The problem is - after screen saver kicks in or when MacBook goes into sleep mode and I want to continue work - no password prompt appears and I go back to desktop without any authorization!
I see this behaviour on admin user account, but when I login in as root - prompt appears and asks for password to unlock desktop.
Can you help me troubleshoot the problem? How can I log /see what is happeining after screen saver is terminated by mouse move or key stroke?

I actually figured out the root cause of the problem. I am using EncFS to encrypt my home folder and each time the user logs in a script is being executed:

It is executed as a login hook, so:

The problem with that is that most probably all the Library settings are first read and only after that is the login hook executed. What it actually does is decrypting the EncFS volume and mounting it to the /Users/enc.
So... Library folder get's substituted and I can work on Library preferences files from my account, but they are not visible during the login process.
Anybody know how I can change this process to enable login script before Library is ever read?
I managed to work around with screen saver protection by adding it globally to /Library/Preferences/com.apple.screensaver.plist instead of local ~/Library/Pref..
But obiously that is not how it should be dealt with...

IPod in Recovery Mode Loop, Restore Does Not Work
When I turn my iPod on it says "Connect to your computer. Use iTunes to restore." I connect it to iTunes, restore it and then it says that it is still in recovery mode and needs to be restored.
Nothing I've tried has worked. I've put it in disk mode, I've changed the drive letter so Windows doesn't confuse it with anything else. I tried to go to the Genius bar but they were so backed up the only appointment I could get was for 8pm tomorrow!
Hopefully someone can help!I've got the same problem with my iPod nano 3rd generation. I'll connect it to iTunes, and it says that an iPod has been detected in recovery mode, and it'll ask me to keep it connected to the computer. It'll then prepare it for recovery, and then tell me there's been an iPod detected in recovery mode. It'll perform this loop several times before I'm given the option to restore it, in which the iPod displays an old version of the iPod interface (I'm talking 1st or 2nd generation of the classic iPod).
Once I'm given the option to restore, it says "Extracting software", finishes, and says that the iPod is being restarted, and then starts with the "iTunes needs to prepare your iPod for recovery. Please leave your iPod connected." loop once again.
I would really prefer to not have to drive to the Apple store to get this problem fixed... -
"Open as layers in Photoshop" does not work
I have Lightroom 5 and Elements 13:
When I select 2 Pictures in Lightroom 5 and go to" Edit in" to "open in Photoshop as layers" I cannot select it. The option to "open as layers" is not available. Can anybody help me ?

Show me in Photoshop does not work
I generated a "Selective Color Enhancement" tutorial and it work great. When I click on "Selective Color Enhancement.html" in the directory "./selective color enhancement/html/selective color enhancement.html", the tutorial is displayed in Chrome. When I click on the step one button, Show Me in photoshop, I get "This webpage is not found", No webpage was found for the web address: file://localhost/Users/steveg/Desktop/TBResults/Selective%20Color%20Enhancement/html/tbst ep-1"
I looked in the html directory and, sure enough, the tbstep-1 file is not there. there are no tbstep files for any of the steps.
Any help you can offer would be great.

That's correct. You cannot playback files directly from the browser. You have to load them using the Tutorial Player AIR app, which you can find here under additional downloads.

i downloaded creative cloud installed the photo shop app and acouple other apps that i cant think of at the moment but when i open my creative cloud it takes all day to load then sing in and takes all day againe and when it finally gets to the home page the only thing i am allowed to do is watch tutorials on the apps i installed and or download all i want to do is use my photoshop whats is the secret to actually open the photo shop program i am an idiot and i dont know what i am doing wrong. either i downloaded the wrong trial program
or if i am supposed to pay for it before i get to use it. any help would be appreciated. thank you.You have not provided any system information or other details, so nobody can know what is going onb. most likely things are simply being blocked by some external influence like a virus scanner. The behavior is definitely not normal or intended.

3D in Photoshop does not work. Graphic Driver is updated. Can I uninstall and re-install Photoshop?
I have been on the phone with Adobe and Geek Squad and Intel trying to get the 3D in Photoshop to work. It used to work till the latest updates, although version 2014 has never worked. Is it feasible to uninstall Photoshop and then re-install it? Wish I would have thought to ask when I was on the phone with Adobe...but didn't think of this as perhaps something that might work. Is it possible? If so, how?
If you have the latest CC Desktop app installed, then you can click over to the Apps tab then hover over the Photoshop version you want to install and click the gear that appears, and that’ll give you an uninstall option. Once you uninstall PS CC 2014, you can reinstall it using the Install button next to Photoshop CC 2014 in the App tab further down.

Installed TWAIN devices: NONEI am getting the same error, also when starting CS6 I receive a message that my graphic device driver is not officially supported. I have updated the drivers and have never had any issues with any other programs. It appears to be a bug in the program.

In administrator mode drag n drop does not work
when i run my photoshop cs5 in administrator mode using "run as Administrator ... ", drag and drop does not work.
This is related to my current project in visual basic 2010 express edition and Windows 7 (32bit).
1. My application always run in administrator mode.
2. In this application i used createobject("Photoshop.Application") method to reference and run scripts directly from program.
3. When i run Photoshop in normal mode, error is thrown as can't create ActiveX connection.
4.Why ?
