8500A Plus - Touch panel backlight activates and stays on when someone is using phone line

Why is that and can it be disabled?  It seems to be a waste of the backlight, especially in my case where the phone line that it is connected to is in use 8 hours a day.  I would imagine that when the backlight burns out it renders the machine relatively useless and repair is probably not going to be covered under warranty when it does occur.
I can understand that the printer needs to recognize when the line is in use, however it would only need to activate the touch screen backlight when actually using a function.
Some software programmer missed the boat here...

Thanks for the advice but this would then terminate the broadband line which I do not want to do. Basically I want it all done at the same time without disruption.
And just to clarify the 2nd line used for business is not a business registered line as such but a 2nd home line into the house.
Physically they all come into the house on a 16 core cable that BT laid about 15 years ago when they sent a whole load of engineers round to the house to install the 1st broadband line in the area for training. But obviously only 4 of the core are used.

    Since I updated my Apple TV 3 to 5.1.1, the Status Light turns ON and stays ON when I turn ON my Broadband Modem. How do I stop this ?
    At the moment I have to go to the HDMI channel that my  ATV 3 is connected to, wake the ATV, then put it back to sleep, to turn OFF the status lght.
    When I first got my ATV I did not have this problem, when it was running 5.1.0.
    I sent in a Feedback form, but they only as the option to select the OS version of a NON iOS device.
    Is there a fix to this that wont involve me leaving my modem ON all the time ?
    I turn my modem OFF when I am not using the Internet because I am a bit paranoid about the security of the data on my devices, and if I leave the modem turned ON all the time it might make me an easier target for hackers etc. { This is NOT part of my question, just explaining why I turn my modem OFF ( I feel safer ) }

    The ATV3 does that to me when I turn on my TV. the light goes on and stays on. If I switch to the ATV3, it seems to be half asleep with the light on ... I do wish Apple would enable the HDMI CEC and then everything would make sense. I've turned off my wireless and on again but the ATV3 light does not turn on automatically for me.
    As you pointed out, I guess this could be a small glitch on the new firmware/software update... I wonder if this could be fixed by doing a restore from the iTunes app. I might give it a try tomorrow and see what happens...

    If it's any consolation i've just had a similar thing happen. Went to add a playlist and it wiped 35 gig of music off my iPod touch 64g in a nanosecond. I've got the latest iTunes and osx but do not back up because i keep different styles of music (and loads of it) in separate libraries and devices which i don't want mixed together. All my stuff is burned from cd so it's not lost for good and i've got a hard drive with the "lost" mp3 music on it but even so it will take literally weeks to prune the tracks for my iPod to be the same again. Why do they make it so difficult to manage your music on these things. I have massive amounts of music on my computer so autofill is a disastrous unusable gimmick to me. The whole thing seems to be aimed at 9 year old kids with about 6 mp3's on their phone rather than serious music lovers (for example accessing EQ is a joke let alone the lack of a manual option). I'm a dj and use apple for that reason but to be honest i'm beginning to wonder why. I'm absolutely livid. The weird thing is that my mac still shows the titles of the missing tunes in the 'on my device' window but as my macbook storage display shows no increase i'm pretty sure it's all gone. Nightmare. I have no confidence in this device anymore and could barely use the previous osx 8.2 anyway. Why they have to change it every ten minutes is beyond me. As the old saying goes 'if it ain't broke, don't fix it' but this format just gets more broken every time they update. An absolute disgrace. Why not just drag and drop or delete. No wonder the iPod is said to be a dying device, it's for music, it is not a phone. Not fit for purpose anymore. I can't be bothered to read a massive 'how to use' article every update. Good technology should be easier and more intuitive with each new version. I suppose i'll have to phone apple at my expense to find out what's going on, or maybe that's the whole idea. Very very very not happy.

    If you encrypt the backup, you can transfer the keychain information to the new device. With an unencrypted backup, you can restore the keychain only to the same iOS device. If you're restoring to a new device with an unencrypted backup, you need to enter these passwords again.

    Both my wife and I have IPhones (5C and 4S).  For some reason for the last several months when someone calls one of our phones it rings on both phones.  It seems to have started with the OS updates but that may be a coincidence.  Is there a way to stop this?

    Correct, I wouldn't lead you astray with a false response.  It happens because you and your wife are using the same Apple id for facetime - which you shouldn't do, either you or her will need a separate id for facetime.

    Reset the iPad by holding down on the sleep and home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider - let go of the buttons.
    Or if that doesn't work, quit FaceTime completely and restart the iPad.
    Go to the home screen first by tapping the home button. Quit/close open apps by double tapping the home button and the task bar will appear with all of you recent/open apps displayed at the bottom. Tap and hold down on any app icon until it begins to wiggle. Tap the minus sign in the upper left corner to close the apps. Restart the iPad.
    Restart the iPad by holding down on the sleep button until the red slider appears and then slide to shut off. To power up hold the sleep button until the Apple logo appears and let go of the button.

    Standard troubleshooting steps in order are:
    Power your iPhone off and on.
    If no change, try an iPhone reset which is done by pressing and holding the home button and the sleep/wake or on/off button simultaneously until you see the Apple logo and then release - ignoring the slide to turn off prompt when doing so. A Reset does not affect any data or settings.
    Restore your iPhone with iTunes from your iPhone's backup.
    Restore your iPhone with iTunes as a new iPhone or not from your iPhone's backup.
    If no change after the last step, make an appointment at the Genius Bar at an Apple store if there is one nearby. The iPhone includes a one year warranty. Be sure to sync your iPhone with iTunes immediately before going to the Apple store for your appointment to update your iPhones' backup and any data kept synchronized with a supported application on your computer such as contacts and calendar events.

    I am running Tomcat 4.1.27 app server on W2000. I have placed the startup file ("startup.bat") in the registry to execute upon reboot.     You can run tomcat as a service by doing the following (assuming you installed the Tomcat supplied with Plumtree and assuming that you unzipped it on the D drive):
    1.Launch D:\jakarta-tomcat-4.1.18-LE-j2sdk1.4.1_02\bin\installsvc.bat
    2.You will see a message saying that the service was successfully installed - press any key to continue

    INSERT ptab_line INTO TABLE ptab.
    Step 3:  Later I am calling dynamic class like

          PARAMETER-TABLE
            ptab
          EXCEPTION-TABLE
            etab.
    I have read most of the post using Class cl_abap_typedescr=>describe_by_name to get parameter where I have to give correct parameter type.
    But my issue is that I also need to know which fields are acting as importing , exporting and changing parameter.
    Is there anyway to determine and pass method's paramter type as well ?
