8520 - removing email addresses/clearing phone

Sorry, long and very boring story!
I had a Blackberry 8520 which my horse kindly deposited in his waterbucket, and I then discovered it wasnt insured.   The main "mouse" type button stopped working, so I had to buy another.
I used the application on my desktop to transfer over my email addresses and what have you, all seemed very simple (which it has to be for me!) but I havent received any emails to my new device since, despite the fact the icons are there for the addresses.
I dont think I cleared the old phone so wonder if the emails are going there (I cant see as I cant use the button!)
I found some instructions on the Blackberry website about removing the email from the device.  I cant do it ON the device due to the button issue, the other solution suggested doing it on the Blackberry Internet Service Web Site - and I dont mean to sound thick but someone else set the initial blackberry up for me who I cant now get hold of - but I have no idea where it is telling me to look as I cannot find "Settings" or "Email Accounts" on that website?
I am sure this is much more simple than my little brain is making it! Can someone help please?
Thanks

Smokey, look here:
To delete the BIS email account:  http://www.blackberry.com/btsc/KB04620
To login to your service provider: See the section that reads
"Set up your BlackBerry Internet Service account from your
computer"
http://www.blackberry.com/btsc/KB03087
NOW, even thought your trackpad may not work to click, can it scroll around the homescreen icons?
If so, you can use the ENTER key (lower right) to open most icons, try it.

When printing a list in Address Book, how can I select more than the default Attributes and keep them selected when I print again? I want to print ALL information for contacts so I have email address, notes, phone, company, title, etc all on one page. I don't want to have to check off an additional 5 or 6 attributes each time I print out contact information. Is there a way to change the default setting for printing lists, so it is not just "phone," "photo," and "job title?"

I have a user who wants to do this same thing. I did not find any way either to default the attributes to anything other than what you see the first time. Seems like such a trivial thing, hard to believe they do not allow it. I did find a program for this called iDress but I can't seem to download it from any links on the Internet. Not sure if it is free or not, but it was recommended by a link on the Mac support site.

  • Remove Email Addresses From a Formatted Excel File

I have an excel file that has some formatting in it that I
would like to preserve (some cells have background color, etc). I'd
like to remove a list of email addresses from this file. My first
thought is to use cffile with action read, use the following in a
    cfloop: replace(emailAddressToDelete,
excelFileVarCreatedFromCffileRead) and then save it back to excel
format with cffile using action write. I tried this and the Excel
file would not open. The error was:
test.xls cannot be accessed. The file may be read-only, or
you may be trying to access a read-only location. Or, the server
the document is stored on may not be responding.
I'm guessing something went wrong in the process of reading
and writing the files contents and it's not as simple as I want to
make it. Anyone have something to tell me that might help me remove
email addresses from a formatted Excel spreadsheet?

Yup, .xls is a proprietary encrypted file format and
    <cffile.... is not
going to be able to successfully read and modify it's
    content. You can
copy it or move it, but not modify it with <cffile...>
If the file format was a plain text such as .txt or .csv you
    could do
what you are thinking about, but then you would probably not
    have the
proprietary excel formating in the file.
I've heard about the POI library that allows some native
    Excel access
and such, but I am not knowledgeable in its ins and outs.

  • Does FaceTime audio call use the Apple ID instead of email address or phone number?

My wife and I each have our own iphones.  The Facetime audio calls come through OK for each one of us, as the calls are set to be received on each of our own email address and phone numbers (so there is no issue here).  But when Facetime audio calls come through, both phones ring at the same time.  I am guessing the FT audio calls (unlike the video calls) are using the Apple ID which is the same for both our phones.  Is this the case?  And if so, is the only fix, to set the phones on different ID's?  Why are audio and video calls set up differently?

It depends upon the device that they are on - from http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4319
To call someone using FaceTime, you need their phone number or email address. Which one you use is determined by the device you are calling:
When calling someone using an iPhone 4 or later: Try the phone number of the person you are calling first. If the person has registered an email with FaceTime, you can use that as well.
When calling someone using an iPad 2, iPod touch, or FaceTime for Mac: Use the email address designated for FaceTime of the person you are calling.
On iPad 2, iPod touch, and FaceTime for Mac, you need to add a person as a contact using the FaceTime or Contacts app before you can call them.

  • E72 - how to remove email addresses in the email c...

The E72's email client seems to gather its own list of email addresses. This is over and above what is in your phone address book.
Is there any way to clear out these? I have some which the email is no longer valid and its annoying (the company had a domain name change so first.last@ is the same but the @xxx.com has changed to @yyy.com and it sorts on alphabetical order of first.last and you have to be VERY careful not to accidentally send to the wrong invalid email address
    thanks

In addition to using the Bcc header, you can create a Group in AddressBook, and put the name of the Group in the To header. Then if you have selected in Mail Preferences/Composing to not check the box beside When sending to a group, show all memberaddresses, then the To address will ready Undisclosed-recipients. Using the Bcc header requires one address in the To header that everyone will see, but that can be your own email address.

  • How do i remove email addresses that have been imported from my email account?

Im not sure how i did it but somehow i have a ton of email addresses in my contacts and I want to remove them....Is there a way to do this without have to remove them one at a time.....I hardly send anyone emails from my contact list and would love to get my list back to just people with phone numbers....
Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!!!

Select each photo in the smart collection with the missing question mark icon. Use Cmd+Click or Shift+Click on the first and last if they are all in a consecutive block. Then click top left on the Catalog tab and choose All Photographs. Confirm from the information strip (above the filmstrip) that you are in All Photographs and the number of photos you have selected and then use the menu:

I had an email address linked in with a skype account.  I recently changed this email address in the profile to another.  When i do a search on skype (to add contacts) using the old email whilst on my pc, there are no hits for the profile.  However, if i do a search using my mobile phone (iphone 4), it still manages to find the profile to which the address was linked but no longer is.  Is this an issue to do with the mobile phone?  i do not want the profile to be found using the old email address and have removed it and replaced it with an new one.

  • Removing email addresses?

It seems that every time I send or receive an email, the recipient email address is saved. how do I remove these email addresses. I do not want to keep some of these addresses. I have also found that if I had typed in the email address wrong, this is saved as well and I have no way to correct the wrong address. Your help is appreciated.

The Mail app on the iPhone does have an option to clear previous recipients like mail in Mac OS X. The only way to remove these cached email addresses from the Mail application is restoring the iPhone.

Unsync and resync all of your movies from your iPod.  You can do this by removing the tick mark next to Sync Movies from under the iPod's Movies configuration tab in iTunes assuming you have your iPod set up for automatic syncing.
To access this tab, plug your iPod in and click on it from under Devices in the left hand pane of iTunes. Over to the right locate the Movies tab along the top. Here you will find the options for how and what movies to sync.  Hit the Apply button in the lower right hand corner to sync the updated changes to your device when you remove the retick the option to Sync Movies.

  • Where do I go to remove email address suggestions when posting?

in email when you type the first letter for the person you are sending, it gives you choices of what matches it. I see old addresses that I would like to delete and not have them keep popping back up.
    Where is that kept?

The address autofill feature pulls from the Address Book and the list of Previous Recipients in Mail (this list is stored in the primary Address Book database).
You answered yes to George's question so if you removed a contact or email address from the list of Previous Recipients in Mail but this contact's incorrect email address remains in the Address Book, the incorrect address will still come up with the autofill.
Since you answered yes, you need to remove this address from the contact's entry in the Address Book.

  • Add personal email addresses to phone

My Blackberry 8530 recently died...I received my replacement.  When trying to set up my gmail emails to my phone I cannot find the option.  I only have the option for a work email with a server.  How can I set up my personal email?
    Thanks,
    Elisabeth

Hi Elisabeth! Glad you got you replacement. I'm happy to help you set up your email. You'll want to look for an icon called "Setup" on the main menu screen of the BlackBerry. Once in the "Setup" menu, look for "Setup Wizard." Then click on "Email Setup". Make sure "I want to create or add an email address" is highlighted, then click "Next". From that point, merely follow the on-screen prompts!

I've looked in my contact and none of those email addresses exisit.

Unfortunately, the only way to get rid of the email address complete list is to restore the phone in iTunes without using a backup.  There's no way to edit or delete the list otherewise.

  • Calendar - remove email addresses from Add Invitees

When I create an event in Calendar, and choose 'Invitees' > 'Add Invitees', the autofill starts filling in every possible combination.  I have one regular receipient that has changed their email address a coupe of times, but it starts with the same few letters.  I end up with 5 choices and almost have to fill it to the end.  How do I get rid of these unwanted email addresses?  I've tried clearing them from the Contacts, I've gone into Mail (which is not my default email program) and deleted them there -- all to no avail.

Hi Pig.Jubby: Try this: With Mail open select "Window" from the menu bar, then select previous recipients, from the list highlight the offending address(es) and then Remove From List.
    Hope this helps
