8520 WONT GO PAST THE START SCREEN!! HELP!

Two nights ago, my phone was low on battery and I plugged the charger in but as I was doing that a message popped up saying something along the lines of ERROR BBM NOT RESPONDING so I just ignored it and plugged in the charger. In the morning I checked it and it was frozen on the start upscreen. I took the battery off and then the loading bar came on, it loaded a little longer than usual an then the start screen came on and just froze there again. I dont know whats wrong if this has happened to your phoneplease help me out!!!

Hey,
Do a battery pull let the phone switch on
1. Go to Options ---> Applications and delete the unwanted apps basically you need to free some amount of memory for you phone to perform properly.
2. Then go to Security Option then Advanced Security Options and then memory cleaning and then press Blackberry button and select clean now and then save. (recommend: Enable Memory Cleaning)
3. Connect you phone to computer with desktop software go to Devices on left side top screen and go to delete data and then selected data in the list find content store delete that and then safely disconnect bb from computer and go to homescreen and press alt+LGLG and clear log
you are ready to go see the difference

  • My macbook pro wont get past the grey screen at startup. Help!!

After doing a run of the mill software update on my macbook pro (running snow leopard) it froze during the "moving items into place" stage. I forced a shut down and now it wont get past the grey screen with apple logo and spinning wheel. I have tried booting from the original DVD but it still freezes. When I boot it in verbose mode it seems to stop at "jnl: unknown-dev: update_fs_block: error reading fs block # 3597880! (ret 5)", the Apple AHCD Disk Queue manager :: set power state is timing out and there is a disk I/O error. I have tried to reset the power manager (not sure if it worked or not) and I have also tried clearing the PRAM (again, not sure of that worked). When I try to look at the hard drive using target mode on my imac the hard drive doesn't come up but the DVD does. I'm concerned that my hard drive is fried. Any suggestions?

It would help to state in your post which remedies you tried that didn't work.
Start here >  OS X Lion: If you see a gray screen at startup
If nothing there helped, try Starting up in Safe Mode
Safe Mode deletes some system caches that may help.
A Safe Mode boot takes longer than a normal boot so be patient. Once you are in Safe Mode, click Restart from the Apple menu.
If a Safe Mode boot didn't work, since your Mac has OS X v10.7 installed, restart your Mac while holding down the Command + R keys so you can access OS X Recovery built in utilities. The startup disk may need repairing.
Tip:  Hold down the Eject key while starting up your Mac to eject a disc.

    Hi...
Use Lion Recovery to repair the startup disk if necessary, or reinstall the Mac OS X.

my phone froze so i switched it off using the power button and home. now everytime it switches on, it wont go past the apple screen??

    Hello 3m4nz4,
After reviewing your post, I have located an article that can help with your device. It contains a number of troubleshooting steps and helpful advice for the issue you are experiencing:
iOS: Not responding or does not turn on - Apple Support
Your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch may occasionally stop responding to buttons, switches, or touchscreen input and may exhibit one or more of these symptoms:
Does not return to the Home screen after you press the Home button
Does not wake from sleep after you press the Sleep/Wake button
Does not turn on (or power on) when you press any button
Does not start up past Apple logo
    Appears frozen or unresponsive
Is unable to "Slide to Unlock" or "Slide to Power Off"
    To troubleshoot these symptoms:
If a single application is not responding or stops responding when it opens, you can force it to close.
If the device is unresponsive or if certain controls aren't working as expected, restart your device.
If the device remains unresponsive or does not turn on (or power on), reset your device.
If there is no video or if the screen remains black, verify that the device has enough charge to turn on:
If you are using an iPad, ensure that it's connected to the USB Power Adapter supplied with the device.
Let it charge for at least twenty minutes, then see if it starts normally.
If there is no image on the screen, press the Sleep/Wake button to attempt to wake the device.
If the screen displays a red battery icon, continue charging the device until the battery is fully charged. Learn more about charging iPhone and iPod touch, or iPad.
If the above steps do not resolve the issue, or the if the screen remains black or shows a persistent Apple logo, try restoring with iTunes:
Connect the device to your computer and open iTunes.
If the device appears in iTunes, select and click Restore on the Summary pane. Learn more about restoring iOS software.
If the device doesn't appear in iTunes, try to force the device into recovery mode, and then restore it.
If the above steps do not resolve the issue, contact Apple.
Thank you for contributing to Apple Support Communities.
    Cheers,

  • My i mac wont boot up past the start screen

My imac wont boot up past the grey screen with the apple logo, the progress bar gets to about midway and stalls at this point.
I even left the system on in this state for the remainder of the day to no avail.
The original problem which resulted in the grey screen, was that when the system did boot up i had a black screen with only the task bar, however when the task bar tabs opened i could not get any of the options to actually operate/function. At this point i turned the system of and after the third attempt the system faltered to the grey screen.
I have tried the Safe mode boot/nram/pra/smc rests but the system still stalls midway on the progress bar, even holding the c key.
    Help please....

See if the computer will boot into the Recovery Partition (Command + R on startup) if it won't that means the HD has likely crashed and the ONLY thing to do is get it serviced.

reading this, your hdd has unfortunately died. have you backed your system up? if you have it is not as bad as it seems.
you will have to buy a new drive and simply restore to that drive from the backup.

  • POWERBOOK G4 14 1.33 WONT GET PAST THE APPLE SCREEN

I have a powerbook G4 14 inch 1.33 mhz processor with 256 mb of ram. The screen will not get past the apple screen. I have tried 3 seperate hard drives none of them would boot past the apple screen. The disk drive is broken, I will be replacing it shortly to put a OS X CD or disk warrior cd in it. Does anybody know what would cause this? I reset PRAM, PMU and tried booting in safe mode. It gets to the apple and then the little circle spins and spins and it doesnt load..

Heres some history of the computer. I orginally put a 12 gb hard drive cuz it came with no hard drive in it and it was working great, but then became slower and slower until it got stuck on the apple screen. i tried 2 other hard drives and they didnt work. i then replaced it with a brand new 60 gb hard drive. i also bought a new optical drive and put that in because the optical drive never worked. i have tried two different ram sticks. i have tried pressing shift,c,option none of that works. option makes it freeze on the boot screen. open firmware works...command S did work until recently...command v does not work...reset pram and nvram. reset PMU. I AM AT A LOSS. is there something i forgot to leave connected during the process that could be causing this? I get USB BOOT ERROR 0 1 1 in open firmware. I DOUBT its the logic board, because it makes the chime and I can get into open firmware and the start up screen.

  • Imac 2008 Snow Leopard installed, Wont go past the login screen

    Hello Everyone,
I am new to this so please bear with me.
I had been using my Imac lately just to run the sims 3 with extension packs which I played for about 10 minutes.
Today we had our internet connected as we have moved to a new house.
The Internet service provider has said the connection should be up and running today.
I went onto safari and checked two or three emails after that my mouse and keyboard could not do anything.
No force quit, No command based force quit, no relaunching of the finder, no being able to restart or shut it down at all.
I remember an echo back up mac thingy jumping up and down too in the dock if that helps
So I turned it off using the back button and left it off for 5 minutes. The mouse and Keyboard are wireless and run fine at the moment, no flat battery.
    First attempt
The screen turned on right up until the galaxy looking screen before te login box, the login box did not appear. There was no other way to turn it off other than from the back again.
    Second attempt
I had left it off for another 5 minutes and turned it back on again, The login screen has appeared, I can type in the password,
but this time when I pushed enter, the rainbow wheel appears and has stayed on there for the past half an hour.
    Third attempt
I will switch off the modem, leave the computer off for another 5 minutes and then try anf log back in. Since I will be disconnected to the internet I will update you with the progress and whether this has worked or not.
This begun to happen as soon as I entered the password for the internet connection. This macbook (late 2008 not pro) detected the connection from the imac (another computer is trying to access your internet connection-sort of thing) and I pressed ok on the macbook. The model of the modem router is D-Link Wireless N300 ADSL2 Modem router if that helps.
The mac desktop has had an install of snow leopard (so I can not do a restall/reinstall thingy of the current operating system) and all I can find at the moment is the original disks from the box. The mac was originally on 10.5.8.
Please help me to fnd a way in which I can get back into my computer this would be much appreciated.
I am not familliar with any technical terms so please keep it simple as I am a noob :3

    Third attempt
I will switch off the modem, leave the computer off for another 5 minutes and then try anf log back in. Since I will be disconnected to the internet I will update you with the progress and whether this has worked or not.
    Update:
This time I switched the computer off from the back as there seemed to be no progress made from the rainbow spinning wheel.
I left it for 5 minutes (the computer) switched off the jack and pulled the plug out.
I turned off the modem for 5 minutes.
I turned on the computer without turning on the modem and was able to log in.
I managed to get into the computer and am currently trying out safari to see if the same problem occurs.
5 minutes into hotmail, trade sites and you tube it seems to be going OK.
I guess the computer paicked abit from the new connection perhaps.

  • Finder quit, won't go past the startup screen - Help!

    Hello,
I was happily using my ibook when out of no where, my entire desktop disappeared. I tried to reopen the finder, but it wouldn't budge, so I thought I'd restart.
After trying to restart a couple times, the applications in my dock would work but my entire desktop was still missing and finder was not opening...
I shut it down and left it alone for a bit. I came back and turned it on and now it will get to the startup screen and then proceed to the blue screen with the white box where the computer begins to load and it freezes. I hear no sounds at all. It just stays frozen.
Does anyone know what this problem might be and are there any solutions to getting it fixed? I hope to God this does not affect any of the files I have on my computer. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

    Welcome to Apple Discussions!
It's hard to know what the problem is, and I suspect that it will take more knowledgeable people than me to solve it, but there are a couple of things you can try first.
One thing is to run the Apple Hardware Test. It will be on one of the Cd's that came with your computer, either on one of the install discs or as a separate disc. It will look for hardware problems and give you an error code if it finds one. It doesn't find everything, but it is supposed to detect serious hardware failures.
Did either of you get a flashing question mark when you tried to start up?
Another thing to do (just on general principles) if you can access your utilities is to use Disk Utility to verify and repair if necessary both permissions and the disk. If the disk indicates that it needs repair, you will need to boot from your install disc and use the Disk Utility on it to repair the start up disk.
Please try these and post back if you have any questions about how to do either of these. If you get any error codes from the AHT or any indications of hard drive problems from DU, please post back with these.
Akamoe 243, welcome to you too! It sounds like you have a similar problem on the face of it, but it's hard to say if it will have the same cause. You can also run the AHT and DU and just follow this thread. But if you get an error code or a problem shows up with DU, it would be advisable to start your own thread so that your problem can get the attention it deserves.
Good luck to both of you!

  • My macbook air wont go past the apple screen with the loading circle.

My Macbook air (Early 2008 edition) Boots up fine, but it stays on the apple screen with the loading circle for a few minutes and then shuts down. I did the Command+v and it always stops at the same spot with:
    disk0s2: I/0 error.
    (see picture)
I have already tried pretty much all the commands while booting up possible, and to no avail.
    Please help.

Sorry for delay been super busy at work - have you tried to boot to your operating sytem disc - by inserting the disc  - then power down the unit - then power it up again while holding down the C key until you see the gear start spinning.  Once it comes up - go to utilities at the top of the screen - then disc utility - then selcet your hard drive in the left hand pane and then on the right hand pane select first aid and click verify disk in the lower right hand corner - your hard drive may be failing and this test will let you know if that is the case. If so you need to backup your hard drive - replace it and put your data back on the newly placed drive.  - please let me know how the verify disc goes

  • My imac wont boot past the apple screen

I installed a Java update and now my system wont start

Was this from Software Update, or some direct download?
    "Try Disk Utility
    1. Insert the Mac OS X Install disc, then restart the computer while holding the C key.
    2. When your computer finishes starting up from the disc, choose Disk Utility from the Installer menu at the top of the screen. (In Mac OS X 10.4 or later, you must select your language first.)
Important: Do not click Continue in the first screen of the Installer. If you do, you must restart from the disc again to access Disk Utility.
    3. Click the First Aid tab.
    4. Select your Mac OS X volume.
    5. Click Repair. Disk Utility checks and repairs the disk."
    http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?artnum=106214
Then try a Safe Boot, (holding Shift key down at bootup), run Disk Utility in Applications>Utilities, then highlight your drive, click on Repair Permissions, reboot when it completes.
(Safe boot may stay on the gray radian for a long time, let it go, it's trying to repair the Hard Drive.)

A flashing question mark or globe appears when you start your Mac
Reinstall Lion, Mountain Lion, or Mavericks without erasing drive
    Boot to the Recovery HD:
Restart the computer and after the chime press and hold down the COMMAND and R keys until the menu screen appears. Alternatively, restart the computer and after the chime press and hold down the OPTION key until the boot manager screen appears. Select the Recovery HD and click on the downward pointing arrow button.
    Repair
When the recovery menu appears select Disk Utility. After DU loads select your hard drive entry (mfgr.'s ID and drive size) from the the left side list.  In the DU status area you will see an entry for the S.M.A.R.T. status of the hard drive.  If it does not say "Verified" then the hard drive is failing or failed. (SMART status is not reported on external Firewire or USB drives.) If the drive is "Verified" then select your OS X volume from the list on the left (sub-entry below the drive entry,) click on the First Aid tab, then click on the Repair Disk button. If DU reports any errors that have been fixed, then re-run Repair Disk until no errors are reported. If no errors are reported then click on the Repair Permissions button. When the process is completed, then quit DU and return to the main menu.
Reinstall Lion, Mountain Lion, or Mavericks
OS X Mavericks- Reinstall OS X
OS X Mountain Lion- Reinstall OS X
OS X Lion- Reinstall Mac OS X
Note: You will need an active Internet connection. I suggest using Ethernet
if possible because it is three times faster than wireless.
