is this number (855)237-2971 a legit HP  support number? i got from a google search. after 30 minutes he told me i had a virus and that there was a tech that could take care of it right away for only $199.99.
thats not support, thats a scam.

  • Will someone PLEASE help a desperate woman by telling me how to talk by phone to a real person at apple support. Cannot find an answer to my question and cannot find a phone number for support.

    I set up my new iPad under my daughters ID because her's is attached to my email. Tried to rent a movie from iTunes. Said I had to answer security questions since it was my first purchase. She didn't remember the answers. So it locked. She reset her password and everything works on her iPad but on mine it still wanting answers to the security questions and we don't have the answers (her questions could have multiple answers...favorite teacher, favorite friend).     Providing you know your ID and password, you should be able to rewrite your security questions. Start here, change your country if necessary and go to manage your account > password & security.

    There is no phone support with Business Catalyst so you won't get them via phone (in Australia or in USA).
    You'll need to log your support request via a support ticket inside of your website.

  • My iPhone 5s will not power on and I need my serial number for support.

    I am attempting to get help through Apple Support- Chat, but I need my serial number.  It is not showing up in iTunes under the device preferences.  Any other ways to retrieve the serial number through iCloud?
    If anyone has any idea of what is going on with my phone, I would love some assistance.  I live 45 minutes from the nearest Apple Store.  Here's the situation:
    About 2 weeks ago, my phone started shutting itself off and restarting randomly.
    About a week and a half ago, I would randomly get a blue screen and then the phone would restart multiple times.
    About a week ago I turned off Touch ID in an effort to resolve the issue, after reading some fixes from this community.  That seemed to help.  I do have the animation turned off, so I had read that there may be an issue between the Touch ID and animation reduction.  If that had not helped, I was going to turn the animation back on.
    Last night my phone seemed fine.  I did hear it restart in the middle of the night once, but this morning it will not power on at all.
    I tried connecting it to my computer through iTunes, but iTunes does not see it and I cannot access the device information from it.
    My phone is less than a month old, and for the first two weeks it worked great.  I am taking it into the AT&T Store today where it was purchased, but I don't really have high hopes for a resolution.
    Any help is much appreciated!

    I suggest you make an appointment with the Genius bar and then go to the Apple store.

    Oh I see, theyve taken it away as a contact option for anything other than premium or first 60 day tech support. I find this very worrying as my RMA experience with the Dublin centre was a real balls up, emails were not replied to and nothing got done until my 2nd phone call after 2 weeks.
    Its bad enough having to call an international number to find out whats happened to your stuff but taking away the option altogether isnt a good move IMO.

Notice that the initial pop is 8 dB louder in one channel and more than 12 dB louder than the notification itself for the right channel.

    doesn't matter anymore. If you were following recent events you would have concluded that the pops and gaps i am referring to are a known issue. Supposedly fixed in 4.4.4.
    About Wi-Fi. Do you experience this independent of router you've tried to connect to? Have you tried any router reboot or reset? Which network mode do you run, B,G,N? Which Wi-Fi channel do you use?
    it fixes itself when i reboot the phone. take a guess what this means.
    Try running Wi-Fi analyzer and set your router to the least occupied channel.
    bad advice. for at least two reasons.one, you can't be sure that wifi analyzer will not interfere with the wifi driver in some way altering the results and two, under normal conditions the only channels that should be used are specific. IIRC 1 5 and 9.
    also irrelevant because i tested it with the phone right next to the router's antenna. it's an issue with the driver.
    So far the only times i know it has happened, is while watching youtube. It may have happened other times as well, but i can not now because from what i remember youtube is the only data intensive program i am using. I try to watch a video and it buffers all the time. I investigated and found that pinging the phone from elsewhere and pinging elsewhere from the phone exhibits the behaviour i showed in the pic. Turning wifi off and back on on the phone doesn't fix it. Rebooting the phone fixes it. Rebooting the phone every time this happens is not a viable workaround. changing the wifi protocol is not a viable workaround. Router can not be at fault, none of the other six devices (three laptops, two phones, one sbc) ever had an issue.
    I'm sorry to hear that you feel like the you only get replies saying repairing the software, but its important to know that it can sometimes be the only option for fixing a problem.
    i had already tried it. it's the first thing i try ever since the first android phone i had. It very rarely works. In fact, i do not remember the last time it worked. I asked a friend of mine, equally experienced, said he only once in his life had a problem go away with a hard reset, intermittent hard freezes with an xperia pro.
