8600 Error in Solution Center

I have an 8600 HP all in one printer. When I open the HP solution center i get the following error, even though my printer works fine. HP Solution Cnter cannot run because your device installation is not complete. Why is this error occurring as the printer works fine. I'm trying to scan a legal size document and have read I have to go into the solution center, but I can't get there. Any suggestions?

Hello @Dori2155 , and welcome to the HP Forums, I hope you enjoy your experience!
I see you are experiencing issues with Solution Center.
I'd suggest removing the cartridges and performing a power reset.  Disconnect the power cord from the printer and the power outlet, then wait 60 seconds. After 60 seconds, plug the printer back in. Ensure you plug the printer directly to a wall outlet. Make sure to bypass any sort of surge protector or power bar.
I would also recommend downloading and running the HP Print and Scan Doctor.
Good luck and please let me know the results of your troubleshooting steps. Thank you for posting on the HP Forums!

I have encountered an error while trying to install HP Solution Center for my J6480 All-In-One.  The software I'm installing is "OJJ6400_Full_10.exe"
I can get past the installation option selections (i.e., the screens that allow selection of which components you want installed) as well the online check for updates to the software.  However, shortly after that I get a fatal error the full text of which are:

    Hey @redleader74,
At this time I am going to have you unlock the hidden System Administrator Account and attempt an install under there. Ideally, if everything installs fine you should be able to log back into your normal User Account and the complete software and driver package for your HP Officejet J6480 All-in-One Printer will be installed and functional. Can I please have you follow the steps below.
    Step 1: Uninstall Drivers:
    Click on your Start menu
    Select All Programs
    Select the HP folder
    Select your HP Officejet
    Select Uninstall
Please follow any onscreen prompts to complete the uninstall. Once the uninstall is complete please proceed to the next step.
    Step 2: Clear Temp Files:
    Click on your Start menu
In the 'search programs and files' box located right above Start after you click on it, type %temp% and hit enter on your keyboard
When the Temp folder opens, select Ctrl + A at the same time on your keyboard. Everything in this folder will now highlight.
Select the 'delete' button on your keyboard. The Temp folder contains temporary internet files. No actual files or folders on your computer will be affected by deleting the Temp files. Should a Temp file still be used than you will automatically get the pop up to 'skip' that item.
Close the Temp folder once it is emptied
Right click the Recycling Bin on your desktop and select Empty Recycling Bin
Step 3: Unlock System Administrator Account:
Click on your Start menu and under the 'search programs and files' box type CMD
CMD will populate as a search option above, just right click on it and 'run as administrator'
Once CMD (Command Prompt) opens, type net user administrator /active:yes and hit enter
Next, close CMD and restart your computer
When your computer comes on log into the new Account that should show. It will be called Administrator and will not have a password on it.
If your computer automatically logs into your account after restart than go to your start menu click the arrow beside 'shutdown' and choose 'switch user'. Now log into the Administrator Account we just unlocked
    Step 4: Install Device:
Under the Administrator Account please click here to download the latest drivers for your printer.
Once the website opens select the Download button on the top left
Once the download is complete please follow the onscreen instructions to install your printer
Once the installation is complete, please test the functions of your HP Officejet to ensure that everything is functioning properly now. If everything installs fine, log out of the Administrator Account and back into your normal User Account. All the Software and Drivers for your product should show installed now on your Account. Once you're logged into your User Account please test your HP Officejet again to verify that your print and scan functions are still working.
If everything works fine, you will want to Hide the Administrator Account.
Go to your Start menu and under the 'search programs and files' box type CMD
CMD will populate as a search option above, just right click on it and 'run as administrator'
Once CMD (Command Prompt) opens, type net user administrator /active:no and hit enter
Next, close CMD and restart your computer
Please let me know if these steps resolve your issue. Good luck!

  • Lenovo Solution Center install problem - Error 1721

Hello, I'm trying to install Lenovo Solution Center to my computer again, after not properly uninstalling it. I simply deleted the files and repaired the registry thinking that it would be fine, and it is not.
I'm getting the Error 1721 upon installing, installer tries to execute 'KillProcessLSC.exe' under Lenovo Solution Center folder and it cannot, since I deleted them. I need the files under Lenovo Solution Center folder so I can make the installer pass the 'Killing LSC' step, or at least think it passed.
I got the idea to fixing it from this post. The guy restored the files from Recycle Bin and installer worked just fine. Since I already cleared my Recycle Bin and I did this over a year ago I cannot get the files from recycling. I simply need the files so I can make the installer execute the program it wants and passes that step that I get stuck on. If any other solution is available I'm free to try it, otherwise I'm pretty much sure putting the files in the Lenovo Solution Center folder will fix it. Thanks.

    @bl8demast3r,
    Your post 1 stated:
Whenever I try to run the hardware scan I get the error:
"Lenovo Solution Center service is not available. Please restart the application, or reboot your computer if the problem persists."
Your later post mentioned Scheduled scan, I assume LSC hardware scan.
    ===
Lsc during the last year has had issues where LSC software fails during a  manual run of hardware scan. Symptoms include Lsc service not available. You have the latest version of LSC.  Monitor what you see and post back if the "service not available"  screen shows up. Describe if this hardware scan was done manualy or a result of the scheduled monhtly run.

  • HP solution Center on Windows 7

Have recently lost HP solution center after loading an HP patch. I was using it with my Photosmart 2575 on Win 7 64-bit. Will describe the sequence of events here:
    - I originally had to download the drivers for this printer when I got a Win7 machine.  It has been working (printing and scanning) well for 6 months, including Solution Center.
    - Several weeks ago, I installed a patch.  This casued my printer to 'disconnect'.  Guidance to fix that was to reinstall the printer.
    - After reinstalling the printer, the printer works fine, but when I try to use HP solution center (to scan, primarily, but I use other things), I get this error:
"HP Solution Center cannot run becasue your devic einstallation is not complete."
It tells me to get an install CD for the network installation.  No problem doing that if it will really fix the problem.  Does anyone think it will really fix it?  The install that was working for 6 months did not need the install CD.
    Any other ideas?

  • HP Solution Center requires flash.ocx

I've installed the software for my C8180 on Windows Vista. This is a clean install. I've deleted any previous install folders and registry entries. I've installed the latest version of flash player, but I still get an error that Solution Center is looking for flash.ocx. When I start Solution Center, nothing happens. If I open the processes tab of Task Manager, it shows the exe is running. If I stop the process, I get the error that it can't find flash.ocx. Is there a way to get Solution Center installed? I've tried both the original cd and the download from HP. I appreciate your help.

  • Officejet pro l7580 cannot reinstall hp solution center

I have a Win 7 Home Premium w/SP1, MS updates current to 5/27/2014
I wireless connect to Officejet Pro L7580.  We have Verizon FIOS & wireless phones.
The L7580 is connected via Ethernet to a 2nd PC w/ Win 7 Home Premium w/SP1 & fairly current MS updates.
I have been using the above setup for 2+ years along with HP Solution Center for scanning, printing from either PC without any problems.
Then I upgraded the Verizon router to have WPA2 security about 6/2/14.  I am able to print as I have done before but HP Solution center gave me an error msg:
Solution Center cannot run because installation is not complete.   Would like to be able to post a jpg.
    1. Based on some review of forums, I reinstalled the L7580 using complete download, rebooted - received same error msg when openning HP Solution Center.
    2. I  uninstalled HP Solution Center, rebooted.  Installed the complete L7580 packge, rebooted.  HP Solution Center was not installed. Can print as I have before.

Hello Ken I hope you're well!
I saw your post about Solution Center not functioning for you since you upgraded to WPA2 security on your router. If you switch the security to WPA personal, that should help.

Is the latest available Solution Center Software compatible with--or intended to be used on--the Q190 "entertainment" PC?  My version says I need a driver update, bu they are all current.
The only download source I can find within Lenovo does not list the Q series computers as compatible--yet an earlier verson of SC came preloaded on the machine.

    Welcome to Lenovo Community Forums!
I’m sorry to inform you that the LSC (Lenovo Solution Center) is not available for Q190 Desktop. Below is the link to download the compatible version of LSC, while installing the driver right click on the downloaded file and select “Run as administrator” option to get it installed without any error:

  • Looking for Solution Center software for my Office Jet Pro 8600 All-in-One

I have installed the Drivers and Full Feature Software in order to get Solution Center, so that I could scan multiple photos into individual files. It still does not appear as installed. I have an HP DV6-73680L laptop running Windows 8.1.
FYI, I loaded the software from the link below:

    Just checked again...
I do not know whether this will make a difference - I did find this:

Note the description at the bottom of the page regarding the scanning feature.  It is unlikely that the exact feature you seek is included.  There are times that the description is somewhat lacking in detail.

  • Catn install HP Solution Center in Windows 7 ERROR MESSAGE

for years ive used this solution center on my c6250 for the scanner it has
its connected through network cable for years too
Just the other day I install a 2nd printer because of the constant ink disappering in the c6250 which then refuses to print in black only
    but thats another story
anyways the new laser printer installs fine using usb and install disc
I think I may have had an error at some point but in the end it work, with wifi
And my old c6250 still printed through network
but today when I needed to scan the solution center mentioned something needed to be completed to finish install
I do not have the old install cd
and many times in the past I just used the online installer
So I put in my new laser printer cd just to see if that would do anyhting, nope
Downloaded new installer for the c6250 and cant remember what happened but the solution center still would not open
Uninstalled, rebooted, installed, rebooted many many times
literally been doing this for 7 hrs
Now I get an error when installing saying fatal error can not write value to key /software
verify you have access to that key
Everything else installs but the solution center
Is there any way to access the scanner over the network
I think on my old xp computer in my computer it showed icon for the scanner
    but win 7 doesnt
and just updated win 7 last night too
not sure if that screwed it up, or my new laser printer install last night
all I want to do is scan over network, any way to do this or why the install wont work

forgot to mention the error gave a link to go on and link doesnt work
and I think it installed some error icon on my desktop where it make a link to check on the error
but opening that link opens my browser to its home page
    doesnt go anywhere after that
so I cant even use the error links hp gives me to solve the problem

  • Officejet Pro 8600 e-all in one; "HP Solutions Center, Web Printing, etc did not install.

Windows 7; Wireless network; Today I installed my new Officejet Pro 8600 e-all-in-one wireless printer. When finished I was able to print, I set up e-print, and the scanner works, but could not find what used to be called the "HP Solutions Center" that I could click on to choose scanning, check ink supply, get "Help", and so on.  An HP 8600 printer icon installed on the desktop, but when I clicked it, it was just a bunch of meaningless jibberish but had no function. I went to "Start", then HP, and was able to somehow get a "Scan Icon" to open.  I did not get the option to set up "WEBPRINT", nor REGISTER MY PRODUCT,  and so on. In other words, the installation did not finish. I tried putting the CD back in, but no additional options were available except to re-configure, etc.  Thank you for your help.

  • StorLib error message in the Lenovo Solution Center

I keep getting an error message under the device manager tab in the Lenovo Solution Center.
It says under drivers - 'StorLib bus (virtualstorage support)', status is 'Uninstalled'.
I can't find anything anywhere about this or how to correct the issue.
    Any help out there?
    Moderator Note; subject edited.
    Solved!
    Go to Solution.

    The device manager pops up the screen with all the 'devices' . When I expand 'other devices', the storlib bus shows up with a yellow triangle and ! mark. Double clicking brings up  a window, with status;
"The drivers for this device are not installed. (Code 28)
There are no compatible drivers for this device.
To find a driver for this device, click Update Driver."
When I try to update it, no driver can be found.
One option os to uninstall it. Guess that would get rid ot the error if it is something not being used.

    Hi everyone!
During installation of HP Solution Center for Deskjet F2180 it says "fatal error" - couldn´t write the key to " \SOFTWARE" plus "MSI.GPBaseService2" error.
I tried many times to completely uninstall all this software and delete keys in regedit and reinstall it. I also respected the order: firstly install, after that connect printer. HP Digital Imagiing Monitor is working right but iťs insufficient for me. Maybe there will be some problem with permissions in Windows, who knows. I have just installed Windows 7 Professional 32-bit.

I'm using an HP Officejet J6480 All in One Printer on a Windows 7 64 Bit machine.  The printer works great but I kept getting error messages from the HP Solutions Center every 15 seconds that popped up making it impossible to do work on my laptop so I uninstalled the Solutions Center to try to fix the problem.  Now the printer won't print. hello Danagriz, unfortunately the plugin check page lags behind. adobe has released a critical patch for a vulnerability in its flash plugin, which is reportedly already exploited in the wild. therefore firefox will block insecure versions from running by default on websites for your protection.
