865p neo boot up screen Question

i'm using 865P neo with MSI MX440SE-T(8788) 64mb graphic card. i realized that my PC boot up without the graphic card information page. if i'm not wrong, noramlly when PC boot up the first screen we see will be the black screen with all the graphic crad information after that then is the bios page. i don't see all these graphic card information since day 1. is my PC set-up having a problem or the 865p neo don't support that function? thank.

ya, i had disabled that. i think what i mean should be the "video bios info on POST". i did posted my question in other forums and so of the guys told me it is normal for some PC that don't show the video bios post and its is nothing to worry about actually...

  • Settings not reminding me about ios updates and boot up screen question

Through my whole iOS 7 updates, my iPad mini has never told me there's a new update by showing a "1" on the settings icon. It does tell me that I can download a new update when I press software update in general, but what I want is the settings icon to say 1, I'm not a guy that check the settings bar all the time, the way I know that there are updates is I always check the #ios7 on Instagram when I'm bored. So please tell me how to get a one there when there is a new update. Also newer apple devices, like the iPhone 5 and up have a white screen on boot up if your device is white. I would like to know why doesn't it do that to the iPad mini? (2012) I know it has the A5 chip installed like the iPad 2 but where not talking 2011 here. So I would like to know why it isn't white and my iPad mini is white if the answer it, the processor is old, I wouldn't be too impressed. Thanks

That black screen with the scrolling text messages is what is happening while the little gear is normally spinning on the screen. That same text is being written to Log Files, and can be examined later.
It is called "Verbose Mode" and can be invoked for a single boot-up by holding V at Startup. There is a setting that can be semi-permanently made in NVRAM to make it happen Verbose-ly every time, which you have cleared by resetting the NVRAM.
Being an acknowledged wirehead, I like seeing those messages scroll by. Sometimes they are different, or they stop, and they can give me clues about what might be going on at any particular moment. They certainly are messy-looking, though.

  • How do I fix the GRAY boot-up screen with FLASHING QUESTION-mark FOLDER?

When I turn on the MacBook Pro laptop, I opened up the Safari Browser and its when the problem started. It was stuck on an loading infinite loop. I decided to force quit the application and/or turn off the mac by the Menu options, It did not work. So I did a "Hard" Shut-down and restarted the Mac, the Boot up screen stood gray for like a minute until the Flashing ? Folder icon showed up!.
My sister's laptop's warranty is expired so I wonder how can I fix it without having to spend too much money on a simple troubleshooting tip.
How can I download/create a boot-up Disk/Flash Drive so I can reset it to factory settings?
I cannot access the laptop because It's kind-of software bricked if you ask me. Also, I do not know how to check the Mac OS version outside of the "About Mac" menu. I do have another Mac which is a desktop computer with a CD drive.
I would appreciate some expertise on this issue a.s.a.p. Thank you!

    Ok, now I am stuck:
Why does my Mac boot its OS from the Flash Drive instead of the INTERNAL HARD DRIVE???a
If I start up my MacBook Pro, It will have the flashing question mark folder UNLESS i plug in the OS-Boot flash drive. When I at the desktop screen and work on a program, When I unplug the Flash drive, THE OS WILL CRASH AS IF I TOOK it's soul (OS x Lion) out of the body (MacBook Pro Laptop)
this is frustrating because when I did the INTERNET RECOVERY, When I install OS x Lion, the Flash Drive only show up as an option as opposed to the HDD.
I cannot format the hard-drive in DISK UTILITY because it's grayed out. This is just frustating. I never had problems with PC Windows OS recovery but this (Mac OS).

    1. Make a bootable system floppy disk by typing [FORMAT A:/S] from the DOS prompt.
    2. Download the BIOS file from MSI web page.
    3. Extract the BIOS file into the bootable floppy.
    4. Boot up system with the bootable floppy disk.
    5. Run Award (Ex. Awdfl770) or AMI (Ex. amifl822.exe) Flash utility & follow the on-screen
       instructions.
    6. After flashing the BIOS, reboot system, press [DEL] to go into BIOS setup.
    7. Select [Load Setup Default] for or [Load Optimized Defaults] and press Key [Enter] and
       press Key [Y].
    8. Press Key [F10] than answer [Y] to reboot system again and finish upgrade procedure.
I think this F10 key (above) is (a shortcut key for [save & exit] inside BIOS).

  • Mac Mini 1.42 G4 will not boot Folder With Question Mark Plus more....

I have a major problem with my mini, It was working ok one minute then it froze completely so I had to shut down via the power button, But when I restarted it I got the folder icon with the question mark in, I've tried various things to get it to boot, I also put in the 10.5 disc to do a hardware test,I've since found out that that is the wrong disc to do a hardware test with. Now I can't get the disc out I;ve pressed the eject key and pressed the mouse button on start up with no look, Also when I press the Option key to select the start up disc all I get are a round arrow and and arrow pointing left. When I press the right arrow key on the keyboard I get some text on screen saying something about firmware and an option to type shut-down or mac-boot, If I type mac-boot the screen goes grey and nothing seems to happen.
So I'm stuck now with a Mac Mini with my 10.5 disc stuck in it and refusing to boot.
Any one any ideas as to what I can do?
    Thanks
    Ade

As you no doubt have recognized by the use of the 10.5 install disk, the folder icon with flashing question mark means that the system can't find a valid and viable MacOS installation to boot from - a problem which could have been existent for some time but not yet developed into a failure, or possibly caused directly by the forced shutdown.
Your thought to use the install disk was a reasonable one, though at this point I wouldn't have wanted to run a hardware test so much as boot to the installer and from the utilities menu once it has started up, then run Disk Utility to test the hard drive for errors, and attempt to repair any found. The reason for that approach is because while the symptoms you describe can certainly be caused by a hardware failure, it is much more common for this to be the result of a failing or corrupt drive - which at the very least Disk Utility is good at diagnosing.
However, now you've got the 10.5 install disk in the drive, the question becomes why it cannot be found by the boot loader (the screen you get when you've booted with the Option key down) and thus can't be used by the system to get it booted up.
It could be that the disk is not a valid installer for that system - in which case it would have to not be a 10.5 retail installer but instead have come from another system. Alternatively, it could be that the drive didn't correctly load the disk, thus doesn't know it is there. This might explain why trying to eject it by holding the (left) mouse button down during bootup doesn't seem to have worked.
To be clear however, you need a wired, USB mouse to eject the disk during bootup, and it must be connected directly to the system or via an Apple keyboard which is not an aluminium model. The (left) mouse button should be held down from hearing the startup chime, and until the disk pops out. If that technique doesn't work, and there is no indication of any life from the drive when you try, it may mean your mini needs to be opened up to retrieve the disk from the drive.
Also, be aware that while the boot loader screen appears relatively quickly after the Option key is held down, it can take a few minutes for a disk in the optical drive to be read and appear there. In most cases, I'm sure users typically wait long enough while wondering what, if anything, is going to happen, but it can take much longer than expected!

  • 865P Neo - LED meaning?

I just put in the new 865P Neo board with a P4 2.4 HT & Kingston 512 DDR400 stick.  When I try to boot it (btw never get anything showing on the monitor) - I get to only the #3 green showing (all others red) and beeps twice in succession then once a second or two later.  What's the meaning of this?  The manual says "Allocating resources to ISA" - no idea what that means.
Note:  I've taken all the cards (both PCI and AGP) out, unhooked the drives - still same #3 laughing at me.
Other note - when I take out the memory stick - it stops at #2 green only.  Doesn't make much sense because that means initializing the floppy!
Note2: I also get like 9 beeps on the #4 green only - but it continues on...

You only have One stick of ram? I had the same problem and came to find out that it was a memory compatibility issue. So try using a different stick of memory and see how that works. If it doesnt work, Then check your jumper settings. Try using O/B sound and video to see if you can get to the bios and work it out from there.

  • Problem with MSI 865P Neo and G4 Winfast

    Hi all,
I bought the mainboard MSI 865P Neo. Have put it into G4 Winfast A280 LE TDH my vivo. And the problem appeared.
When I doing whatever in Win (for example open explorer, mouse rightclick ...) the screen is simply runing over.
Seems like a video card doesn`t handle it or Screen (monitor) is poor but it`s not. The same problem appears also while Windows is installed.
Little note I want to add is my G4 has new Bios setup and on my second card Leadtek G2 MX everything`s ok. It seems for conflict between the mainboard and my v-card. Have you met similar problem ?
Would be grateful for an answer
    Best regards

On my old mainboard - ABIT ST6R (with G4) everything was ok. I changed mainboard, RAM and P4 and problem has appeared.
MSI supports AGP 8x/4x at 0.8V (AGP 3.0) or 4x at 1.5V (3.3V not supported)
If G4 needs 3.3V (I can't find G4 how much needs) that problem is obvious. I must change mainboard.
Anyone knows how much G4 poverage needs?

  • Tecra S1 doesn't boot and hangs at (boot) splash screen

    Tecra S1 Model PT831E-107EQ-GR
Problems started a month ago. It randomly didn't booted. After some power off/on tries it finally booted and worked properly. Because it happened more often I've bought a new hard drive (Toshiba 40 GB). I've had Acronis True Image and planned to make a disk clone to the new drive. The problem is that a notebook now doesn't boot anymore so I cannot boot it from A CD nor hard drive. It stops at "In Touch..." logo with "Press [F12] for the boot device selection menu" text and doesn't react any key. I tried to boot with no CD, no hard drive - the same. I also connected internal HD using ATA-To-USB adapter - the same. Does it mean that's not a disk problem but motherboard or other components? Is it possible to enter BIOS before boot selection screen?
    Regards,
    Jacek

Problem solved. There was a broken PCB under the CPU socket. I've found that pressing with my finger and holding CPU while booting allowed to startup the system while releasing the finger caused system hanging and its total crash. Our local service tried to repair it but with no success. Finally two days ago we've found a working motherboard (a used one) for about 200 USD and now I'm waiting for installing it in the laptop. Th regular price for a new one (about 400 Euro) is too much, but 200 USD is OK. I do like the laptop because of its ports (LPT, RS232). It's used for programming and controlling some older devices. Newer laptops have no LPTs nor RS232s and it's not easy to find a working USB adapter because the software we're using is even from DOS times and has hard-coded IRQs for those ports.
Anyway, I hope it'll back from the service fresh and new, and of course working ;)
    Thank you for your tips.

    Jacek

  • Mac Pro boot option screen freezes after I select the Windows partition

    Hello,
I have a mid-2010 Mac Pro, and I am currently experiencing an issue regarding booting into Windows 7.  Windows 7 64-bit is installed on its own HDD in bay 2 of my Mac Pro.  When I restart my Mac Pro (from OS X), hold the option key, and select the windows HDD, the computer completely freezes and locks up.  I can't move the mouse or use the arrow keys on the keyboard, and the boot select screen completely locks up after selecting the Windows HDD.  This issue does not happen, however, after a cold shutdown and startup.  If I completely shut down my Mac Pro, start it up, hold the option key, and select the Windows HDD, it boots into Windows perfectly fine.  It is only after a reboot from OS X that the boot select screen completely locks up after selecting the Windows HDD.
I have tried everything I can think of, including resetting the PRAM, SMC, repairing disk permissions, etc.  I did also call AppleCare a while back, and the technician on the phone was unable to find a solution.  I have also tried selecting the Windows partition in the Startup Disk pane of system preferences, and that did not work either.  I have also tried utilities such as BootChamp to automate the restart.  Same issue.  Could this be a hardware issue?
    Thank you,
    Robert

    pull OS X and try
Too early to even try F8 - Windows safe boot
Try booting Windows DVD would be first on my list
Every month on 2nd Tuesday all the security updates for Windows patches come out
Clone your Windows hard drive - $20 Paragon Clone OS are just like CCC: bootable, swapable backup copies
Don't try using and it has nothing to do with OS X
It may be something you or Windows installed though or even an update pending on restart.

  • MacBook won't go past the boot-up screen?

Okay, so I had about 3,008 of other peoples' pictures on my MacBook that I didn't want. I sent them all to the Trash in iPhoto to get rid of them. I then two-finger clicked on the Trash in iPhoto and told it to empty trash. It asked me if I was sure I wanted to delete all 3,008 photos and I clicked yes. (in retrospect, I should have clicked no.) After the program had sat doing nothing except turning my mouse pointer into a spinning rainbow-wheel for about 15 minutes, I decided something must be wrong. I two-finger clicked the iPhoto application in my dock to try and tell it to Force Quit, but it just froze. the application didn't even shrink back to normal when I pulled the mouse pointer away from it. My friend said to just turn it off and try turning it back on, and held the power button down so the computer shut off. I waited a few minutes, tried to turn it back on, and all I got was the boot up screen (white with the gray apple logo and a spinning wheel thing underneath it) for about five minutes and then it shut itself off. It has been doing this every time I've tried to turn it on since yesterday afternoon. PLEASE help me!!

I should also mention that I kind of just guessed on which operating system I'm running... I don't know, and I assume it's whatever they originally put on the MacBooks in 2008.

  • Mac pro (2013) fails to see usb 3.0 connected drives in boot selection screen

    Hi,
I am using the late MacPro and have three drives attached via an USB 3.0 hub (Anker Uspeed USB 3.0 7 Port Hub).
The hub has a VIA VL812 chipset with the latest firmware update (9081) - I have verified this.
My problem is, when I enter the boot device selection screen (by pressing the alt-key during startup) none of the drives is recognized.
When I plug any drive directly into one of the four USB 3.0 ports of the MacPro, thereby bypassing the hub, it becomes visible and I can use it to boot.
AFTER the boot process, when OS X has finished loading, everything works fine. I have used two of the drives to backup several GBs of data from my main drives (connected via Thunderbolt) with no issues.
Is anybody able to connect drives through a USB 3.0 hub and use them in the boot selection screen? Which USB hub do you have?
    Thanks

    "400" is what's greyed out
    Configure Dram Timing by SPD:
both options doesn't change this situation.
when is disable is block and when enable is the same.
    Come on garthol,
Please help yourself by reading through your own products specs, if you think that I'm not of any help. If you are saying that you want to set to 400MHz manually earlier, then we'll know what you want.
The thing is, this board is running on the old ICH5 chipset and does not have native DDR400MHz support. All you can do to acheive DDR 400MHz speed is by overclocking, nothing else.
    Please read product page: http://global.msi.com.tw/index.php?func=proddesc&prod_no=542&maincat_no=1&cat2_no=&cat3_no=
