865P Neo Series NOT "PE" can support M.A.T? ?(
Bengho, listen up... You have got to look into the website again before commenting on!!! You are the one not catching the ball not me dude... and I've got the confirmation from MSI rep on this and I'm totally right. MSI rep has admit that the info from your link is incorrect for I865P chipset and they will do the alterations soon.
FSB800 CPUs for MSI I865P and I845 are "OVER CHIPSET SPECS" or "OVERCLOCKED ONLY".
Unlike MSI I865PE/G & MSI I875P series which can ORIGNALLY support FSB 800 CPU WITHOUT OVERCLOCKING NEEDED.
If you would like to confirm, please read the original links below,

[875P Neo Series] problems powering up when sata on ich5r is enabled
Hello, there is a problem on my 875 neo fis2r motherboard.
In the "integrated peripherals"-->"on chip ide" section on the bios (v2.4), when i leave the option "sata keep enabled" to yes, i have problems on system power up.
I switch on my computer and there might be half a minute or more until i here the "beep" on the motherboard and boot from my HD.
Could anybody know what is wrong?
Thanks in advance for your help
Mobo: MSI 875P NEO-FIS2R
CPU: Intel P4 Northwood 3.0Ghz, 800FSB, 512KB L2 Cache
RAM: 1x512mb kingston PC3200 CL2.5
HDD: 1x160Gb Maxtor 8mb 7,200RPM S-ATA
Optical: 1x Plextor 716a, 1x Plexwriter Premium, 1xPlextor 116A
Floppy: Mitsumi MTM43W 1.44MB 3.5in
Display: ATI Radeon 9800XT 256mb
Sound: Soundmax digital audio
Case: ANTEC Performance Plus Series PlusView1000AMG
Power : Antec TruePower 550
Fans: 4x 80mm
Display : LG Flatron F700PHey Grigo,
For that set up, I would recommend trying the following settings:
On Chip Operate Mode: Native
ATA Configuration: S-ATA Only
SATA Keep enabled : Yes
PATA Keep enabled : Yes
That's how I set up my old 875P without trouble when I installed a pair of drives in RAID 0. In your sig I don't see two drives, so I'm not sure what else to provide. (whether you are building a new comp or upgrading to RAID 0 etc)
For further reference, have a look at Vango's guide to RAID setup here: https://forum-en.msi.com/index.php?topic=38845.0 -
Problem with MSI 865P Neo and G4 Winfast
Hi all,
I bought the mainboard MSI 865P Neo. Have put it into G4 Winfast A280 LE TDH my vivo. And the problem appeared.
When I doing whatever in Win (for example open explorer, mouse rightclick ...) the screen is simply runing over.
Seems like a video card doesn`t handle it or Screen (monitor) is poor but it`s not. The same problem appears also while Windows is installed.
Little note I want to add is my G4 has new Bios setup and on my second card Leadtek G2 MX everything`s ok. It seems for conflict between the mainboard and my v-card. Have you met similar problem ?
Would be grateful for an answer
Best regardsOn my old mainboard - ABIT ST6R (with G4) everything was ok. I changed mainboard, RAM and P4 and problem has appeared.
MSI supports AGP 8x/4x at 0.8V (AGP 3.0) or 4x at 1.5V (3.3V not supported)
If G4 needs 3.3V (I can't find G4 how much needs) that problem is obvious. I must change mainboard.
Anyone knows how much G4 poverage needs?

This logo however, hides the boot up process. If you need to see what\'s going on, Just disable it in the bios.
ya, i had disabled that. i think what i mean should be the "video bios info on POST". i did posted my question in other forums and so of the guys told me it is normal for some PC that don't show the video bios post and its is nothing to worry about actually... -
Help!!! Intel 865P Neo Board
Dear All,
Currently, I've changed my MSI board from Intel 845GE Max-L to 865P Neo Board and seems like I was unable to play games (eg: NFS HP2, C&C General). When I start up the game, after the movies introduction, supposed it will reach the main menu, but it hang there, no display, my monitor power cut off, no sound either. I can't see anything at all.
Everything was running fine, except running games. Should be Intel 865P better than Intel 845GE. Hope you guys can help me solved this problem for me. The BIOS setting is set to default, no overclocking.
I've change my system from:
P4 2.0GHZ
MSI Intel 845GE Max-L
512MB PC2100 (DDR266)
to:
P4 2.53GHz
MSI Intel 865P Neo Board
2X 256MB PC3200 (DDR400) = 512MB
Using the same graphic card:
Hercules 3D Prophet Radeon 8500LE Series (4X AGP Card)
Pls help!!! Thanxs!!!!

Any ideas how to do it?? I can\\\'t find any setting for RAM to be set to 266 in the BIOS...
Hmmm, it\'s in one of the menu options (where you can set processor voltage and such)..
There\'s 4 possible settings for it when I looked (266, 333, AUTO, 400)..
Take it off AUTO and set it to 266..
I tried wat you have told me...set to 266MHz
still the same... Monitor power will just cut off. Cannot see anything. Do u guys think is the power supply prob?
I'm using a 300Watt PW. but I was wondering if PW not enough, it will not be able to bootup. -

Blocked dram frequency - 865P neo
Hi
I have one problem my dram fraquency is blocked in bios. it is set up at 400Mhz and i can't change it :(
I have msi 865P Neo and 2x256 DDR 400 (PC 3200) (dual)
Do you know what i should to to change it ??Quote from: garthol on 22-July-07, 00:13:41
"400" is what's greyed out
Configure Dram Timing by SPD:
both options doesn't change this situation.
when is disable is block and when enable is the same.
Come on garthol,
Please help yourself by reading through your own products specs, if you think that I'm not of any help. If you are saying that you want to set to 400MHz manually earlier, then we'll know what you want.
The thing is, this board is running on the old ICH5 chipset and does not have native DDR400MHz support. All you can do to acheive DDR 400MHz speed is by overclocking, nothing else.
Please read product page: http://global.msi.com.tw/index.php?func=proddesc&prod_no=542&maincat_no=1&cat2_no=&cat3_no=

I just put in the new 865P Neo board with a P4 2.4 HT & Kingston 512 DDR400 stick. When I try to boot it (btw never get anything showing on the monitor) - I get to only the #3 green showing (all others red) and beeps twice in succession then once a second or two later. What's the meaning of this? The manual says "Allocating resources to ISA" - no idea what that means.
Note: I've taken all the cards (both PCI and AGP) out, unhooked the drives - still same #3 laughing at me.
Other note - when I take out the memory stick - it stops at #2 green only. Doesn't make much sense because that means initializing the floppy!
Note2: I also get like 9 beeps on the #4 green only - but it continues on...You only have One stick of ram? I had the same problem and came to find out that it was a memory compatibility issue. So try using a different stick of memory and see how that works. If it doesnt work, Then check your jumper settings. Try using O/B sound and video to see if you can get to the bios and work it out from there.

K8T Neo Series JUSB connecting
Hello,
While cleaning op my case, and hiding all cabled to optimize my airflow I accidentally ripped out the connectors of the 2nd JUSB connector on my MSI K8T Neo series Motherboard. I first thougt It was made out of 1 connector, but unfortunatly they were about 10 tiny connectors.
that JUSB connector is for my front-side USB 2.0 connectors.
I know how to reconnect them, but I don't know in which order.
They are all different colors and are labled:
2x 'GND' each in an other color, 2x 'Power' each in an other color, ....
I checked my motherboard's "quick user's guide", about those JUSB connectors, where they gice the correct oreder. My Problem is that the lables in the Manual aren't the same as the labels on the tiny connectors.
Does anyone has the correct order, maybe in color, so that I can reconnect them in a proper way?
Thank you very much,
Hans....look here...scroll down one post...

Ok...this is seriously bugging me. :O I bought a 865P neo board 2 weeks ago, and about a week after using it, the mobo went dead. I went and exchanged the board for another 865, installed it, and everything on the comp worked fine. Then a few days later....same thing. The mobo went dead. It doesn't power up at all. When I hit the power button, the fan for the CPU twitches, but nothing powers up. I know the PowerSupply is fine because I tried it on another computer and it worked great. If anybody out there is having the same problem or knows what's goin on I would really appreciate your help....My specs are listed below. I haven't done any BIOS updates either.
SPEC
MOBO: MSI 865p neo
CPU: Intel P4 2.66Ghz 533Mhz FSB
RAM: Kingston 512MB DDR400
PSU: Allied 350W PS
HD: Western Digital 120GB w/ 8mb Buffer
Video: Gainward GeForce4 Ti4200 128Mb DDR
CDROM, DVD, FLOPPYI tried clearing the CMOS but that didn't work. I also checked out the lights on the D-Bracket and i'm getting a Green Red Red Red, for lights 1,2,3,4. I looked online and that sequence is supposed to be the early chipset initialization. This thing is really bugging me....if you guys know what's goin on...I would really apprecite the help.

Hello,
just wondering how come this msi 865p neo board had only 2 bios revision
and it is removed from the product's front page ? Is that because there is nothing
more to update/correct on this mainboard ?Yeah; You are right...Unfortunately the i865PE came out right after, and there is no market for it anymore, So as far as a New BIOS release :nooo:Unless some unforeseen Problem arises ...........Sean REILLY875

Hi, this problem I think is related to my post titled "XP shutdown problem". I fixed it by turning on Keyboard PowerOn Function (installing XP SP1 didn't solved the problem. I only assumed).
My new problem is when my PC goes to S1 standby it immedialty wakes up (all of the monitor events are set to ignore while in the wakeup, everything is disabled except Keyboard PowerOn Function).
When the PC goes to S3 standby it won't standby until I press a key (could still heard the fans rotating)!

Lite On DVD-ROMAfter a month of test and optimizing toverify MB stability, I just migrated to WInXP from WinME and noticed a difference in the way they "suspend" on the same board!
I am using STR3 and have ACPI enabled:
1. ME would suspend but leave the power supply completely ON - i.e. the HD's and fans.
2. XP would suspend and shut down power to the internal optical drives and the case and PS fans.
I do have KBDPOwerON disbled though.

Can you restate this? What key do you have to press?
