865PE Neo2LS: Disable Chipset LED?

Is it possible to disable the chipset LED's on the MSI 865PE Neo2 LS motherboard? They're nice and all and I bought a clearside case to look in once in a while but the lights get annoying after a while.
I looked in the BIOS options and I can't find it, it's either right in front of my eyes or not there, this is the same for the manual, it's either in there and I didn't see it or it's not there at all.
Thanks
Rog...

It's not there at all.
The LEDs blink whenever the fan is powered, so to ditch the lightshow, you need to ditch the fan. If you are not into overclocking, it will work perfectly fine without the fan, but keep the heatsink properly mounted.
Just remember to set aside the fan and the screws - you may need it in the future - in case of RMA  :P

  • Disable Wifi LED?

    Hello,
I just got an HP Pavilion g6-1b60us Notebook PC with a Windows 7 operating system.  On the F12 key, there is a wifi LED which indicates whether wireless is on or off (white light when the wireless is on, orange light when off).  This LED is very bright and really hurts my eyes.  Is there any way to disable this LED, perhaps through editing a registry entry?  I don't want to disable wireless, I just want to disable the LED.
    Thanks,
    Kevin

Can anyone help me out please?  I've seen lots of people have viewed this thread, but no one has replied.

  • MSI 865PE NE02 FI2SR All LEDs lit

My system has been unstable since building it a couple of months ago and have tried pretty much everything. It restarts itself, generates Stop Errors or simply hangs. This occurs mostly when using demanding apps like video editing or 3D modelling. All diagnostic LEDs are lit simultaneously which indicates a processor problem. I thought I'd ask you lot before I send the processor back to its maker/reseller just in case there is another possible cause. Have tried pretty much everything already. Everything is correctly seated, all drivers and BIOS up to date. Still losing my hair. Help!

    Thanks Aggie02,
The diagnostic lights are indeed all green. Some relief that this means processor is OK. Still major stability problems to sort out though, so if anyone has this setup and has regular crashes I'd like to hear from them. The blue screen of death keepeth coming!

  • Disabling sleep LED

    Hi all,
Apologies if this has been covered before - I've had a look on Google and using search here but to no avail!
I've got a simple problem for which I'm hoping there is a simple solution. I want to be able to put my Macbook into standby without the LED flashing. The simple reason for this is that in my bedroom, the LED can be quite annoying at night and I don't always want to shutdown or put my laptop in a bag/drawer.
    Any suggestions?
    Thanks,

  • How can I disable the wireless status LED (T61)?

When I'm working on my laptop and listening to, for example, online radio the wireless status led under the screen keeps blinking (data is being transmitted). I find this extremely annoying and distracting. Is there any way to disable the LED? (but obviously I would still need to be connected). I'm using windows xp on a thinkpad T61.
    Help much appreciated!

i would use a black permanent marker or something, or a black sticker. This is the easiest and safest way of doing it, it is perfectly reversable.

  • Disable led on 1131AG while associated with an WLC

    Hi,
On autonomous AP's one can disable the bright status LED using the "led ....." command. But how can I disable the LED on a LAP-1131AG? The AP hangs in a bedroom so the light is quite annoying.
    Thanks!

Anyone know if this can be done through the web GUI
Depends on the firmware of the WLC.
7.0.X doesn't support this on GUI but 7.4.100.X does.
In 7.0.X, you can enable/disable LED globally but 7.4.100.X have an option to do so individually.
NOTE:  Not sure which firmware starts the support but all my WiSM-2 are running 7.4.100.X.

  • How to turn OFF status LED on VC220?

I'm looking for a way to turn off the status LED on a VC220.  This is not the IR LED, but instead the large blinking LED on the front.
The documentation mentions that it can be turned off, but I can't find a menu option for this.
    Thanks for your help!

Alternating flashing green and orange—Video has been lost.

    Joe,
Use the Network Setting > IP Setting page to set the IP address and other related
    settings. When you complete the configuration, click Save to save the settings;
otherwise click Cancel to discard the changes.
    • Disable LED Operators—Select to disable the LED illuminators. You may
choose to do this if you don't want to alert others that the network camera is
on. Use the Network Setting > IP Setting page to set the IP address and other related
    settings. When you complete the configuration, click Save to save the settings;
otherwise click Cancel to discard the changes.

  • Cisco Aironet 2700 LED

Does anyone know how to disable / turn-off the LED on the top of the Aironet 2700 Series Access Point? My users are complaining about how bright it is. Thanks.

If you go to the WLC Wireless tab, enter the specific AP and go to the Advanced Tab, you will find an option to Enable/Disable the LED:
    Hope this helps

  • Debug led panel

I have just bought x79a gd65 military class board  but  when i render any file on it my debug led panel shows temperature above 51, is this harmful for my board ...with normal msi bios setting i haven't done any oc on my board ....my processor is Intel(R) Core(TM) i7-3930K CPU @ 3.20GHz, 3201 Mhz, 6 Core(s), 12 Logical Processor(s) bios ,Memory (RAM)   16.0 GB SMBIOS Version   2.7

You could look in the BIOS for a setting to disable mainboard LED control, but it may not disable that feature. Worth a try though.

  • Big Bang MB LEDs

Just bought my first MSI motherboard, so far so good...  Anyhow I have red led fans in my case.  The control center software allows me to turn the LEDs off, but when I restart my computer they come back on.  If there is a way to shut them off permanently, please let me know.  If not I would like a bios/control center option to disable the LEDs.
    Thanks,
                OP

In the BIOS, there is a setting for mainboard LED control. As I don't know exactly which Big Bang you have, just look around for it in the sections and sub sections.

  • MSI Z87-G45 Audio Boost color LED

On my MSI Z87-G45 I was wondering if anyone knew how to turn off the LED behind the plate of the Audio Boost logo. I disabled the sound card in the BIOS but seen no option on disabling that LED. I guess it is only a minor issue but the pink/purple light is really messing up my Red and Black theme. If there is an option to make it glow red that would be perfect but it kinda looks like the plate is just turning the white LEDs behind it pink.
Also this may be a question for another thread but I think I'm safe in assuming that my X-Fi Titanium PCI-X would be better audio then the onboard, correct?

Yes, that's why I have one on my Z77.

  • Satellite U400-15B hangs on Internet and Touch media keys issue

    Hi All,
Had two issues with my U400-15B which I am hoping to resolve.
    1) The first issue is that I have noticed that my internet occasionally seems to hang on Internet Explorer when using website's which have a couple of images e.t.c.
It will freeze but the rest of the laptop works fine - I mean you can go into the start menu and open other programs fine. However, if you open Microsoft Word while this is happening, it will take slightly longer to load up than normal. Does anyone know what this could be or how I can resolve this?
I am using Vista Home Premium 32 bit and the laptop has 4GB of RAM / P7350 Intel Centrino 2 - so is pretty powerful.
    2) The second issue is that when I press the 'sound' touch key, the white lights and the white bar above the touchpad become unlit. When I press this again the lights come back on but it doesn't mute the sound. Only when the the laptop is put to sleep mode and then woken up again, does the key work correctly. All others work fine. Does anyone know whats causing this?
I have exchanged this laptop 3 times now and all of them have done issue (2) this but surely this isn't normal.
Any help or advice to rectify these issues is very much appreciated.
    Thanks

    > but the problem of when you press the sound mute touch key still turns the white lights off and the white bar on top of the mouse off - instead of muting the sound.
Ive got U400 too and installed Win XP. When I press the first button near the power button then I can enable and disable the LEDs.
To be honest this is not a problem!
You can configure the Toshiba Control buttons.
This can be done in the Toshiba Button Support Utility. And this tool can be found in Toshiba Assist -> Optimize -> Toshiba Button Support
There you can chose the button (button name) and can assign the certain function.
I think the mute.exe could be fund in Toshiba folder.

  • A Few Quick Tips For Those Who Are New To Fios Quantum and the New Quantum Update

Most of those who have quantum received the new update early this morning (8/12/14)
There are a lot of people that are new to fios who never had anything prior to quantum so I thought I'd make this post to help.
Those who had the older boxes prior to quantum should already know about all of this.
The new update now reflects what the older stb/dr's have and have had for awhile now. There are now more menu settings you will want to go through.
The ad banner guide at the bottom can be disabled. Go to menu > Notifications > Guide Banner > set to disable
The banner will still be there, but will show Verizon rather then ads.
The home screen can be turned off. There is an option to turn it off within the home screen or you can go to menu > Notifications > Promotions > set to disable
The led on the boxes have been changed. If you want to change it go to menu > System > Media Server Settings > LED Brightness.
The Auto Power Off option is set to 4 hours by default. If you don't want the box to turn off automatically you will want to disable this. Menu > System > Media Server Settings > Auto Power Off > set to none
There is now the option to change the guides banners times outs. Menu > Settings > System > Television > Info Bar Time Out (also Channel Bar Timeout)
Some on other forums mentioned the video formats have been changed so its a good idea to check the option out to see if it reflects what you want. Menu > Settings > Audio & Video > Video Settings > Video Format
The aspect # button now works so any SD channels that are boxed can now be stretched using the # button.
I'm happy to see this option back.
    Solved!
    Go to Solution.

Thanks for the info regarding the latest update. I like some of the new/improved options, however I am highly disappointed that the update discontinued the reminder option. I would think that setting a program reminder is a highly used feature and many will be unhappy now that it is gone. I know I surely am!

  • Overclocking using ITB problems

    My gear summary:
i7-2600k, watercooled (XSPC Raystorm block, stock, idle 27-32c, load highest core ~45-47)
    Z68A-GD55-G3 (E7681IMSvP80, 26.8)
    Kingston HyperX Genesis DDR3 PC3-12800C9 1600MHz (4 sticks, 16gb total)
    inno3D GTX480 SLI (2 cards), watercooled, idle ~33, load ~45
    OCZ ZX 1000W psu
    Corsair Force3 120gb ssd
I have done ITB auto voltage overclock in the past and it worked. Then i updated bios and it didn't work anymore and i didn't bother retrying. Don't remember details as it was some time ago. Now that i watercooled i want to try again. But it just doesn't work...
Just now i updated bios to freshest beta (see gear summary).

    =================
Hi all, thought I would write a quick guide on my settings for the MSI Z68 GD65 (G3) and it's UEFI BIOS
    Remember your mileage may vary...
Why would you want to overclock with the CPU voltage set to auto?
Well it seems that to get the power saving features to work properly you need to keep the CPU Core Voltage set to auto.
When the CPU voltage is set manually, the multiplier will drop but the volts remain at the manually set level. So if you would like to have the voltage at <1.0 on idle but still have a nice OC when you load the CPU then this could be a good route to take.
This method will use EIST (Enhanced Intel Speedstep Technology) and Intel Turbo Boost to overclock your CPU.
Load up the BIOS and navigate to the "Overclocking settings" tab on the left.
Here you should see the first page of the overclocking settings.
    CPU Base Frequency [10kHz] 10000
Adjust CPU Ratio [34] This was set to 16 by me
Note I have left this at 34 as we will be using the Intel Turbo Boost to get the overclock.
Adjust CPU ratio in OS [Disabled]
    Internal PLL Overvoltage [Disabled]
Originally I had this set to enabled, however at my 24/7 OC @4.5 mine is stable when disabled. I have read when enabled it can cause problems when using Sleep.
    EIST [Enabled]
We need this enabled to allow the Turbo Boost to work.
    Intel Turbo Boost [Enabled]
The limit of the Turbo Boost will be set later on in the "CPU Features" section.
Now i have something called "Enhanced Boost" or some such ?
DRAM Frequency [DDR3-1600Mhz] Why bios detects 1333 ?
Set this to the required speed of your own RAM.
    Extreme Memory Profile(XMP) [Disabled]
I have mine disabled but you can enable if you like just remember to manually set the DRAM Voltage.
    DRAM Timing Mode [Link]
Using this option will allow you to set the Advanced DRAM Configuration.
Advanced DRAM Configuration Dont think i changed this last time
In here you can configure your memory timings, I have set the first five manually according to my RAM specifications from G Skill.
    Spread Spectrum [Disabled]
VDroop Control [Low VDroop] Previous bios(P60?) had numeric voltages, not low/high, beta has only LOW
Set this to Low VDroop to help limit any fluctuation in voltage when the system is under load.
    CPU Core Voltage [Auto]
Left on Auto to allow the power saving features to function.
    CPU I/O Voltage [Auto]
DRAM Voltage [1.507 V] Cant set it to this, next step is 1.5055, numeric input sets back to AUTO
Set manually as the motherboard tends to set the volts below the recommended for my RAM.
Onto the second page of the "Overclocking Settings"
    GPU Voltage [Auto]
    System Agent Voltage(SA) [Auto]
CPU PLL Voltage [1.800000 V] Cant set to this, next step is 1.8100, numeric input returns to AUTO
Set manually just to prevent it from being set to high by the MB.
    DDR_VREF_CA_A [Auto]
    DDR_VREF_CA_B [Auto]
    DDR_VREF_DA_A [Auto]
    DDR_VREF_DA_B [Auto]
    PCH 1.05 [Auto]
Next navigate into the "CPU Features" section.
    Hyper-threading [Enabled]
    Active Processor Cores [All]
    Limit CPUID Maximum [Disabled]
    Execute Disable Bit [Enabled]
    Intel Virtualization Tech [Enabled]
    Power technology [Custom]
    C1E Support [Disabled]
Possibly better performance than using C-State (needs confirmation) can also be used in conjunction with C-States
    OverSpeed Protection [Disabled]
    Intel C-State [Enabled]
Lower vcore on idle than C1E
Intel C-State limit [C2] There is no C2 state if setting using ClickBIOS, i use normal bios, just a comment
Originally set to Auto, but changed to C2 to enhance performance.
    Long duration power limit(W) 200
    Long duration maintained(ms) 1000
    Short duration power limit(W) 250
Primary plane turbo power limit(W) 0
Secondary plane turbo power limit(W) 0
There is also some other pri/sec settings, not covered here
Now comes the interesting bit... the following will give the Intel Turbo Boost the limits of the Overclock. You may need to start lower down, say from 42-45 and see if your PC will load into Windows and is stable.
I started from 45 and found out I can go to 48 which is obviously 4.8GHz.
At 48 I can load Windows, can do 10 passes of very high with IBT, and is Prime stable for 6 hours. That's as much stability testing as I have done so far.
At 49 I can load Windows but as soon as any real load goes on the CPU it will bluescreen.
    1-Core ratio Limit 48
    2-Core ratio Limit 48
    3-Core ratio Limit 48
    4-Core ratio Limit 48
Next onto the Power settings under the "Energy Saving" tab.
    EUP 2013 [Disabled]
CPU Phase Control [Intel SVID Mode] There is no "SVID MODE" selection, just AUTO and DISABLED
    Motherboard LED Control [Auto]
    C1E support [Disabled]
    Intel C-state [Enabled]
Package C State limit [C2] Again, there is no C2 if setting from ClickBIOS, its there in normal bios.
And that's it just go to the "Mainboard settings" Tab save settings and reboot.
Once you are in Windows the power saving features should be enabled, giving you lower clocks and volts when you don't need them,
And a nice OC when you do
    ===========================
Used it before, now it doesnt work because some options are not available.
Namely "Intel VIDS mode" only disabled or auto, some other setings differ as well.
Could someone more experienced look it through and tell me where i'm making a mistake ?
For the record, i can do a constant OC, but i'm after power efficiency as well, no need to run 4.7 when you browsing internet...
Using this guide i was running 1.6ghz while no/light load and automatic 4.6 while gaming.
Now, i set most of the settings but ITB just wont swich gear...
    Help ?
