[865pe neo3-f] POST stops at booting attempt

hi all..i need help with my 865pe neo3-f mobo..1st of all, my specs are:
p4 530 3.0 ghz
1 gb ddr pc 3200 ram
80 gb maxtor pata
80 gigs seagate patd
soundblaster audigy2 platinum
geforce 4 mx 64 mb
500 watt psu
asus cdrw 40x12x32
liteon dvd 16x
if there's any more info needed, just let me know..
problem:
a friend of mine plugged his usb hard drive to my front usb port, the next thing i know, my windows xp freezes..
i reset but the mobo freezes while the d bracket says that it was trying to boot to os (1st led red n the other green) according to the manual..
i've tried booting with only 1 ram stick, video card n cpu but no luck..the mobo still stops when it's trying to boot most of the time..ocassionally i can get all led green but that's like success in every 15+ attempts..
please help me if anyone has a solution for my problem..thank u..

anyway the mobo's bios has been cleared many times but the problem just won't go away..i've disconnected the usb hdd also..
i can't get by to the bios post screen..the mobo stops at exactly when it's trying to boot (d-led: 1st led red, the rest green)..so in essence, whenever i turned on my pc, it stops when it's trying to boot and restart itself..
by the way, the mobo's bios is the latest v5.3..
i will post the power spec when i get home..thank u so much..

I have MSI 865PE Neo3-F mainboard and I have a few little problems with Neo.
My first:
I have HDD Maxtor DiamondMax10 300GB,16MB cache,SATA.When I was installing Windows,(widows setup) it shows that HDD has only 131GB.BIOS shows 251GB.what does it mean?Not supported HDD or only 130GB for one partition?

I want to connect also P-ATA HDD,but BIOS don´t see him.

After installing Service Pack 2 windows shows that HDD has 300GB,but I created two partitions before (C:\ [30GB] and D:\ [100GB] in windows setup) and now (after install SP2 E:\ [170GB]) one partition in Windows.Problem how do I put together last two partitions (D:\ and E:\) to one partition?
so if I right understand after this settings in BIOS:

ATA Configuration - PATA only (or SATA-only)

and what about another two options in this menu?what are the settings?(somtehing about 1st channel and so on)

How system knows which one from two Masters HDD is System disk?from Boot menu?

865PE Neo3 + Radeon......

Problem: Computer will not boot up , No blinks , No Sound , No Nothing.... After I have tried manythings , I switched out my NEW and WORKING ATI Radeon 9600SE AGP Graphics card , For an old ATI Radeon 7200 AGP Graphics card I had laying around and the computer booted up fine.... So basically my problem is that my computer will not boot up with my good graphics card. But it will boot up with my old crappy one. I know its not my Graphics card because it works in another computer. My bro also has the same video card I have the ATI Radeon 9600SE card so I tried it in my computer and it booted up fine. So I am wondering why will my mobo not reconize my Graphics card but will another. And if there is anyway to fix this. Thanks. I have put my new card into a system to make sure it works , And it does.
I have cleared the CMOS and tried and still don't work.
As far as the ram it could stop one video card from booting up and let another boot up fine? I will try it just in case. But anyone else have any suggestions?

Boot Attempt fails (set low stack and boot via INT 19h)

Ok, I have had my computer running and very stable in windows,one day I was doing some benchmarks between ram in running dfferent timmings and speeds of the ram. I went back in the bios and changed the settings back to auto(which I have been running very stable in), It rebooted, the it froze during post, where it has that pill. So I thought I should clear the cmos, so I put the jumpers on 2,3,
waited a min. then put it back on 1,2 , rebooted, and still frozed, and still want able to get into the bios!
So, I put the d-bracket in and has now the

Which is boot attempt,
So I unplugged eveything, the Proc juice, Mobo, sata, all the good stuff.
And took out the battery.
I left it out for over a 24hr period.
So today I cameback and still get the same signal.
What do I do now?

It don't sound happy.
Usually changing to another Ram stick clears the 'jam', where it has frozen with timings that are then 'stuck'. Anything differant happen with the other stick, like beeps?
The only other thing that has been known to work is to remove the vid card, leave for 5 mins,and replace, along with the differant Ram stick. Even better if you have a PCI vid card, and leave the AGP one out.
What happens with the bios floppy in A: holding down ctrl + home as it boots, re initialises the bios, and flashes it again.
Is the bios chip soldered in, or is it a pushfit one.

Loud Fan noise when using Pentium 4 LGA 775 with 865PE Neo3-F

Hi,
I have just bought a new Pentium 4 LGA 775 - 2.8A GHz with MSI 865PE Neo3-F motherboard and realized that the fan is simply very very noisy.
When I boot it up, it started with around 2500 RPM and 30C, but soon after I logged into Windows, the fan starts to speed up to 4900 RPM with the CPU temperature at 60C.
I asked my friend who uses the same combination of processor and motherboard, he said his fan only rotates at 3000 RPM, with CPU temperature at 55C, and it is NOT noisy at all.
I have tried CoreCenter and SpeedFan, but none of them can slow down the fan.
Any idea how I can maybe slow down the CPU when I don't need so much power, or slow down the fan?
Is there something wrong with my installation of the CPU Fan maybe?

its bound to be noisey thrashing round at that speed.
You may want to think about optimizing the CPU coolng with some ducting directly onto the top of the CPU fan.
I presume the heatsink is seated onto the CPU with some thermal compound.

MSI KT6 Delta-FISR - D-Link diags "Boot attempt" failing

I need some inspiration for this problem.
My sister's machine has been running fine (ish) for about 5 months. The sound has been "playing up" recently, sounding like it's stuttering. Anyway, that's not why I'm here.
At the moment, the machine won't boot up at all. I had it booted up today, and it was working OK, then it froze (sister complained that it froze yesterday as well).
On reboot, all I'm getting is the Xtreme main screen, then nothing else. The D-Link diags are showing 1 RED, 2,3,4 green which is
"Boot Attempt- This will set low stack and boot via INT 19h". It does nothing else.
I can't get into the BIOS, not can I boot from floppy. Doesn't matter if the HD is connected or not, it still fails at the same point.
I've stripped the machine back to the basics, so only have 1 CD-ROM, 1 HD, 1 stick of ram, floppy drive, graphics card.
I've swapped the graphics card .. same problem.
dropped the ram from 2 to 1 stick and switched sockets ... same problem
Swapped the PSU .... same problem
Is the Motherboard knackered ? Anyone got any more suggestions ??????

ailsa, try removing the heatsink and cleaning any accumulated dust and dirt. make sure the fan is spinning. then clean off the old thermal pad or paste, and apply a fresh thin layer to surface of CPU die (the metal bit in the middle)

Post stop condition duration

I one to collect 5 seconds of data prior to the start of a test, and then 30 seconds after the end. So I have been using start and stop condition with pre and post logging options. For the start condition, with 5 seconds pre condition every thing is fine, however the post stop condition of 30 sec does not occur and logging stops as soon as the stop condition occurs. Screenshot of the start/stop condition page are attached with a copy of the project.
Has any one any experience of this, what am I doing wrong? Have I misunderstood the way this should work?

Thanks for looking at this, sorry for the delay in replying.
I have reattached the project file and a data set. I've been messing around with the settings, but still no joy. In the current project I am asking for 30s of data after the stop condition occurs but it still is not happening. In Data View for 'P Red' the stop condiditon occurs as specified when the pressure goes below 1 bar, and then logging ceases a couple of seconds after that. In the meta data for the logs it specifies the start and stop conditions, and it also specifies that I want 5 s pre start, however there is no mention of my post stop requirements
Does the 30s I specified really mean 30 seconds after the stop event, it wouldn't be something like stop after 30s or at the stop condition, which ever is longer? Is it possible for you to look at the code or the logic in the programming of this feature?

what should I exspect for a super stable overclock? Does the motherboard have tons of options?
Im going to be de clocking the memory so I can get a higher clock speed. Let me know if you know how well the options are. Thanks.

There's not only MSI make 775 with old chipset.
DFI even make 775 with 875 chipset. And in my country (in a mag), they complain it's faster than 915. -yes, I think it's right, no surprise-
I think it's not about OC but more about price. As the chipset is cheaper, and use AGP + DDR1, so you can still use most -expensive- part of your previous system.

865PE NEO3-F package content question

A had a brand new motherboard break down, so the store where I bought it did send me a totally different motherboard: a 865PE NEO3-F and seemes to been used and there is no CD or nothing else in the box. I've paid for a full product and I would like to know what the package contains in a full box.
I've checked the manual online 'cus I didn't get one in the box, but it doesn't say anything about package content.
Can anyone help me out?

Many times when items are RMA'd, what you get is a refurbished item, not new. In fact, it should be stated in the replacement policies. Also, often, you only ship the item, not the accessories that come with it. Usually, this is spelled out in the RMA--at least it has with a router and UPS I've RMA'd in the past. Obviously, these conditions are not universal and each RMA process and requirements are specific to a manufacturer/product. Anytime I RMA, which has been rare, I double check to make sure I know exactly what needs to be returned. I hope you get what you deserve and owed in product replacement. Definitely contact the retailer.

I do not get any POST beep, the cpu fan or the HDD does not run when I push the PC power button, in fact the only thing that starts is the power suply fan. The Hi-Fi Part works fine. I can't shut shut down the PC-part with the power switch, have to unplug the cable.
Is the problem the processor or the mother board

A Celeron 320 is a Celeron D, as far as I know and so it is also not supported.

I have MSI 865PE Neo3-F which is 775 platform, running with P4 506 (bus 533) + DDR400, it does overclockable on core cell utility. When I tried to overclock via BIOS (lastest one V5.3), I see that AGP/PCI bus is unlockable, my ram cannot set CL to 3 (only 2 and 2.5 avaliable), when I save changes and quit bios the screen goes blank and have to reset BIOS, even increase FSB only 1 Does anyone experienced these things. THX

Boot Attempt Failed

My computer cannot boot for no reason today. Every time it hands on bios checkup page that shows checking NVRAM forever, and D-Bracket shows red green green green-Boot attempt. I cannot get into bios setup or boot menu....
I had a kt3 ARU, amd xp 1900, two 80 gb westerndigital hard drives striped on raid, DVD, CD-RW, Flopy, ATI 8500 128mb video card. Windows XP professional.
I built this computer 8 months ago and had no any problem before. yesturday I only did a disk clean then shut down it.
I failed to fix it in many ways. (clear CMOS. take out anything else, flash bios ....). The problem here is that I cannot get into bios setup.
Any detail suggestion will be greatly appreciated

Can you provide any more information about the files that are causing the problems? Are these particularly large files? Many pages or images? Have you opened these files in Photoshop CS5, or other versions of Photoshop?
What do you see when you try to import these PDFs? Do you get the PDF Import dialog, allowing you to select pages or images from the PDF? Is so, is it hanging when you click OK or at another time?
Any more details about the problem or other info (as well as sample files) you can provide, the easier it will be for us to help identify the cause of your problems.
