Can an SATA Type 3 HDD be installed on a 8710 W Laptop/workstation?

Yes, you can have two different versions of JDeveloper in your PC. I am sure for this, since I have tried it already, with no conflicts.
Each one works independently.
And it is sufficient to have OC4J, which is already embedded in the JDeveloper, or even an external one, but for small environment of users. Otherwise, an application server would be more preferable.

    Hi,
    Can I clone a G4 HDD to a G5 HDD?
    It will save me hours of time reloading all my apps but wasn't sure if it would cause any problems?
    The G4 is a power mac 733mhz quicksilver and the G5 is a late 2005 dual 2ghz power mac.
    Any advice would be much appreciated.

    Do a Erase W/Zero and a fresh install on the new G5, setup with the same user name. Then hook up a firewire cable and t boot one machine so the hard drive appears on the other and transfer files (install apps from original sources if all possible), itunes folder in the exact same location. User/Library/Mail...Safari folders in same location.
    Disconnect and iTunes de-authorize the G4 and rename the G5 hard drive the same as the G4. Start iTunes on the G5, authorize and your playlists should be preserved.
    Using a another machines OS in a different type machine is not advised. Using a earlier clone isn't advised either. Don't use Migration Assistant, especially for apps.
    Start off with a as much as a fresh drive/OS/apps as possible while you got the opportunity. Clean house and start with a fresh slate. The reason for this is security issues that you might not be aware of with earlier exploitable versions of the OS. You might have a backdoor open and don't even know it.
    Also if you upgraded Tiger over Panther your using a less secure OS, a fresh Tiger install with a immediate update to the latest version is highly advised.
    Zeroing all brand new drives one time rewrites the bad sector map that mishandling of the drives/machine can cause. Driver software does this for you as you use a drive, but uses your data as a guinea pig which causes OS glitches and lost/corrupted files before the bad sector is mapped off.

  • Lenovo Twist - Can't get WWAN Driver to Install

    Hey,
    So, got my Lenovo Twist last weekend - absolutely love it, but **bleep**.. I'd love to be able to slap a SIM in here an go.
    Problem is, the WWAN driver appears to be missing - Device Manager shows the WAN Miniport, but the driver doesn't work.
    Here is what I've tried so far:
    - Allowing Windows to try to find an updated driver (nothing)
    - Downloaded and attempted to install this from the Lenovo Twist Support Drivers Page: Ericsson H5321gw/C5621gw Mobile Broadband Firmware for Windows 8 (32-bit, 64-bit) - ThinkPad (this results in an error: Initialization error) - This seems to only be a firmware anyway
    - Tried this one.. which appears to be the driver for Ericsson H5321gw: http://support.lenovo.com/en_US/downloads/detail.page?DocID=DS029034 (Installs, but doesn't solve the driver issue.. even after reboot)
    - Tried a few other various drivers that people have suggested, but none seem to work.
    Any suggestions?

    Following up on an earlier post I opened up my Twist to see what is inside with respect to WWAN.  Easy to do; just two screws and slide out the keyboard.  I had not seen any WWAN references in the Device Manager.  Sure enough, the PCI Express slot the User Guide shows to be the location of the WWAN card has the 24GB SSD. Even though the SIM slot and socket is there and the red/blue antenna leads are there it does not appear both the WWAN and 24GB SSD can be installed at the same time.  The other PCI Express slot has the WIFI card.
    I don't know enough about SSDs but maybe a SATA type SSD could take the place of the 500GB hard drive which could free the PCI Express slot for a WWAN?
    My Twist is model S230u and the Lenovo System Update application says the "Machine type and model" is 33474HU.

    I had a perfectly functioning laptop one week ago, and then I decided to "upgrade" the HDD to SSD.
    I attempted to clone the HDD over to the SSD.  The cloning process seemed to work fine.  When I installed the SSD, I got an error message "System Disk Error".  I re-installed the original HDD, and got same error message. 
    Thinking that I may have had a coincidental catastophic failure unrelated to my cloning attempt, I obtained a new mobo and HDD, installed both, and tried to install Windows fresh.  I now get an error message similar to "No HDD installed in system".
    With a new mobo, new HDD, I did not anticipate this type of problem.
    I do not have any restore or rescue disks.  I thought that if I put in a new HDD and mobo, windows should install without problem.
    What am I missing?

    I assume that you have used the same sata cable on both motherboards. My guess is that the cable or its connectors could be damaged by replacing the hdd for the ssd. I don't think that you would have almost the same problem on a new mtb with a new hard drive.

  • What type of HDD is used in the time capsule unit?

    I was just wondering what type of Hard Disk Drive was used in the time capsule device. Is it a "SATA" type drive or is it a "SSD"? If it's a SATA drive how fast is it( e.g.: 5400 rpm or 7500 rpm ). If it is a standard HDD can it be replaced with a Solid State Drive or a Fusion Drive type HDD.

    The hard disk changes with each generation of drive.. the original series were 7200rpm drives.. but as green drives became more readily avaialble and cheaper.. especially cheaper.. Apple moved to them.. The Latest TC uses WD green drives exclusively now..
    Standard ordinary green WD are 5400rpm but maybe variable.
    It is a slowish drive although probably just as fast as the original 500GB Seagate.
    Now the important point.. there is no speed advantage in using a faster drive.. these boxes are processor-controller bound.
    You can replace the slow green drive with an SSD and there is no improvement in speed.
    Read the review where they did just that.

    I am very happy with my Portege R835, except for the sata-issue....severely limiting my SSD speed, as I as many others bought this computer specifically because I thought it supported Sata 3. It is absolutely horrific of Toshiba to limit the sata speeds without telling their customers about it!! They will definitely lose thousands of customers on this rather stupid move of theirs. Unbelievable!! Why ruin such a good computer. Sell customers a Ferrari not telling them it's speed limited to 80mph. Toshiba; be up front about such vital information to your customers!!!

    Do you mean you can't see the instructions on what to do if there is no UpperFilters entry?
    If so, here's the relevant instructions for that step:
    On the right side of the Registry Editor window, right-click the UpperFilters entry and choose Modify from the shortcut menu.
    Right-click the empty white space within the right-hand portion of the Registry Editor window. From the shortcut menu, choose New > Multi-String Value.
    Name this new value "UpperFilters" (without the quotes). Then, right-click the newly created UpperFilters entry and choose Modify from the shortcut menu.

    I have a SharePoint 2010 site with two discussion boards. I added one additional field to each of the boards: a lookup to another list to link the discussions to individual projects. I need 2 different boards because they have different posting permissions
    (one is open to all for comments, and one is open only to the project team to post but everyone can read).
    When I go to the pages for each of the discussion boards, they work fine.
    But I'm putting together a page for individual projects, and want to have web parts for both discussion boards on the same page, showing the discussions related to the selected project.
    I am able to add one of the discussion boards to a web part in the page, but when I add the second discussion board to the page, the new web part contains:
    One or more field types are not installed properly. Go to the list settings page to delete these fields.
    Correlation ID: blah blah blah
    I've searched for similar postings, but mostly I see this error message related to migration from 2007 to 2010 -- this is not the case here: I created both discussion boards, and the whole site, in SP 2010. I've also found this message related
    to coding errors using SPQuery. I am not doing any coding here, just using the built-in SharePoint 2010 Edit Page -> add a web part -> select the discussion list.  I tried doing it from SPD with the same result. 

    I figured it out. I was using ?FilterField1=fieldname&FilterValue1=value on the URL to the page to pick out one project number. The web part I was trying to add was for a list that did not have that particular fieldname. I didn't realize that would matter
    since I was using the Connections -> Get Filter Values From to get my filter values from the main web part, which does have that fieldname.
    I added a field with that fieldname to the other list and set a workflow to copy the lookup value of the project number lookup field into the new field. Now all is working fine.  Sorry for the wild geese in my original question.

    I have created Administrator -approved Infopath form template to my site and activated same template in CA.
    I have used this template in one of my Form library and i can able to submit the Form with success to the library.

    Is there any other content type on library or check if there is any duplicate column? Could you please also show us your library columns detail? (pic is also fine of lib settings page)
    If you have any ""Property Promotion" column then SP create those columns as site column and associate them with this template so check "Allow management of content types" for that form library as well.

    Hi,
    I think the issue is related to the internal name of the Expiration Day.
    In the caml query code lines, we should use the right internal field name to retrieve and filter the list items.
    To avoid such mistake, we can use the CAML Designer tool to generate the caml query code.

    My MacBook is trying to mount it, according to right-click 'Get Info', using DiscImageMounter, which only returns the error message (above), 'The following disc images failed to mount - image: SPL2.dmg; reason: not recognised.' Disc Utility doesn't tell me much more. What should I do with it?
    My printer (Samsung SCX-4200) clicks and warms up when it's sent a command to print, but that's the end of it - it won't do anything else, which is why I went looking for the driver in the first place.     We have a publishing website in SharePoint 2010. There are total 4 environments - Development, Test, Stage and Production. For some enhancements, we had to create some new lists and libraries. When we moved changes from Development to Test environment, everything
    worked fine. Relevant lists and libraries in lower environments were saved as templates (in .stp format) including content, imported to higher environment, lists/libraries were created in higher environment using imported templates. 
    Things worked fine from Development to Test. We did similar exercise from Test to Stage environment. Now in Stage, when we access some pages, we get error message - "One or more field types are not installed

    On searching for this error, I got many articles that explain how this could happen when we migrate from SharePoint 2007 (MOSS) to 2010. Though our case different (as all our environments are in 2010), we still tried following steps. 
    De-activate 'SharePoint Server Publishing Infrastructure' Site Collection feature
    Go to https://site-name/relationships%20list/allitems.aspx. This is a hidden list. Delete this list. 
    Re-activate 'SharePoint Server Publishing Infrastructure' Site Collection feature.
    Make sure that new hidden list with one item is created at https://site-name/relationships%20list/allitems.aspx
    However, this didn't help as we are still getting same error message. Appreciate if someone can suggest how this issue can be resolved.

    Hi Shrishail ,
    Some time this issue occurs if you have any custom filed types in the list or library and that field type is not installed on server .
    Can you please check that if you are having any custom field types column on the list and library and if that is the case you need to install that field type on the server. sometimes it happens if field types are not properly deployed / Installed then
    you have to uninstall that field types (retract solution) and deploy it again.

    Microsoft Keyboard and Mouse Software that you install with Microsoft keyboard and mice, (latest version) allows you to disable your windows key so that you don't accidentally hit it when gaming. When I take advantage of this feature, I can no longer type in Firefox. Typing in Firefox is completely disabled. Other browsers, windows, applications work, but not Firefox. What is it about the windows key that firefox needs for typing. Strange problem, but annoying because I have to use a different browser while game. Certainly not a deal breaker, but kinda strange.
