875 Neo and Audigy 2 annoyance.

I am running 875 Neo and Audigy 2 on Win XP Pro SP1. The Audigy 2 is running on the latest XP driver from Creative. DirectX is 9.0B. Everything works just fine, no crashes or anything. I do have a minor annoyance with the Audigy 2. On rare occasion, I have a thumping sound from my subwoofer, the kind of sound when the soundcard is initializing itself when Win XP Pro is loading. The subwoofer is fine as I have tested it without being connected to the PC. At first, I thought that it was due to the Audigy 2 sharing IRQ with the Intel RAID controller. I have shifted the Audigy 2 so that it only uses an IRQ without sharing but the same annoyance persists.
Does anyone have the same problem and how to overcome it?

875 NEO AND 3D PROBLEMS

I purchached a 875 board to replace my older 423 P4 board and upgraded to a 2.8c P4. I had no problems unitll I ran 3D programs like Star Wars Galaxys or Battlefield 1942. AFter about 20 min, their would suddenly be a flurry of HD activity and then either I would get booted back to the desktop or the computer would reboot. After reading the forums I thgouht the problem was my Radeon 9700 PRO. After trying all suggestions I gave up and Got a MSI FX5900 Ultra. I now have the same problems with this card!!! :O The computer runs fine with anything else except when using opengl or Direct3D. Any suggestions? I am using Bios 1.6 and the latest MSI/Nvidia drivers. I have tried changed the timings from Fast to Normal but this did not help. Any suggestions would be great. I have installed the Intel inf drivers on the Cd for the board and I did flash the bios to 1.6 without a probelm. I love the board and the FX card. Just this little problem can get annyoing. It does this with Star wars Galaxys and Battlefeild 1942. I was Going to try Freelancer and Unreal Tourneyment 2003 and see what happens.

Windows XP is using ACPI (to be enabled or disabled in BIOS). You must also set it when installing Win. XP. During the start of the installation (the screen that says press F2 for system restore ect.....) you must press one of the F keys, I don't know for sure but I believe it was F6. Then a screen pops up and it lets you change the type of computer it'll be, standard PC, ACPI PC etc.... Then you should choose standard PC.
I don't know this for sure, so if anybody can aknowledge my story, you're welcome :D

875 neo 50% cpu usage while idle

It becomes slower than a 1 gig machine. This happens every now and then with my new unit. Slows everything down. :(

Well, not exactly sure but kinda. This is what happened. Board was replaced with bios version 1.5. Worked fine for 3 days then the mystery 50% usage came back. They then replaced the memory with ddr400 from ddr333. It's been over a week now and the problem has not returned.
So there are 3 probable culprits at one point or another. The board, the bios and the memory. Personally, I find it very odd that memory was a factor. It seems that bios 1.5 is not at all happy with ddr333. :(

875 neo problem with supra max usb on boot

I have one 875 neo m/b with bios ver 1.5.
I have connected one usb modem diamond supramax and when power on the system this sticks when it checks nvram and rebbot.I have tryed all usb ports and all settings in the bios.(memory slow, memory voltage 2,50-2,70 usb device legacy enable, disable).

Yes the system start normaly without supra plug in.
When windows start i plugged in the supra and work fine but i have problem with netmod many times it does not make call and have communication problem with windows with or without supra plug in.
Also my system hang and restart when download files from internet.In event wiewer in system category i have one report for event id:1001 save dump

875 Neo FSR2 onboard sound

875 Neo FSR2 onboard sound, how does it compair with a SB Audigy in Quality , Performance and Compatibility. Seeing as i have this Board and this Card should i use them together or is the onboard sound better (If i had a nforce board id be using the soundstorm onboard sound as its better).
Anyone have any facts or opinions on this issue?

I agree. I did a test on the S/N on my board and came up with about 85 dB rms, which is pretty decent. But it won't compare to the Audigy - you'll probably see around 100 dB for that. My SB Live measures 95 dB.
I don't think you'll be able to use both Audigy and on-board sound at the same time. The BIOS won't let you.

Hello i have a 875 neo fis2 motherboard and a 2.8c intel p4, i placed both mosules in channel a the green one and my mempery scores are hell low in sandra im taking 2870 low. There set up for dual channel whats going wrong some one told me to run theese on a 1:1 ratio. Surely i should be getting faster speeds previosuly i had pc2100 installed i cleared the bios after insalling theee and there giving me problems and there no real performance increase from the old modules please help!

875 neo v2 mobo live after switching off

can anyone help..this might be normal BUT im curious when i switch off my computer and it shuts down fully there is still power to my microsft keyboard ..if i press the "f" key i get the green light on ... also my 4 port mini usb hub is still lit up..now as i say this might be normal on this mobo but it wasnt the case with my 875 neo fis2r version 1 mobo ..any light on this subject is welcome

Honestly, I came here with 550W Qtec and was advised this.....I went to Enermax 365 and then Enermax465......I have not looked back.......
They cost twice a QTEC.......but when you think the Qtec PSU could BLOW whole system UP.........twice the price seems OK....

875 Neo-FIS2R Can't detect keyboard controller

Am running the 875 Neo-FIS2R with a P4 2.4GHz. Can't even get to bios. The D-Bracket 2 stops with LEDs 1,2 and 4 red and LED 3 green. The book tells me that the boeard is initializing the keyboard controller but it just hangs there.
I had a friend look at it who just setup an identical confoguration but he could not get it to work (His was already running Windows XP).
Has anyone elese had this problem?

Are you getting any kind of Post? or just a blank screen with beeps or no beeps?

I have 875 Neo FIS2R, PIV 2,8GHz @800MHz and 2* Kingston PC 3200 400MHz CL3 256MB DDR RAM. I tuned my CPU up using Windows Core Center, it's now running on 215MHz x14.0 (3013MHz), Vcore voltage is 1.5625, memory voltage is 2.60 and AGP voltage is 1.6. Core Center hanged at something about 3300 MHz.
I have a question: How should I set voltages, memory, FSB and things like that to get best performance??

Sorry, but there is not any answer to this question. Overclocking is a matter og trying, failing, testing, trying and failing over and over again. You have to have top notch components and a good cooling system to go to the top as well.

875 neo & 4200 memory problems

Hi, everybody. I did picked up a lot of usefull information from this bord, but was lucky enough not to run intoo problems untill now. Before recently I was using pc3200 memory and was able to oc it up to 450 (in auto mode) but that was the limit. When I changed settings from auto to 333, I was able to reach 260 on Cpu and memory read was still 400. Performance sucked, but it is not the question I want to ask, it was just for the sake of knowing that my 2.8 capable of 3.62.
The problem is that couple days ago I purchased ddr4200/533 by OCZ Technologies that supposedly is supported by 875 neo board.
When I set ddr frq auto, 500, 533 it will not boot, or boot with bios defaullts.
When I set ddr on 400 everything is just fine until I reach 250/500 on those settings it runs rock solid. But don't you know that it is not enough? As soon as I try to change fsb to 255-251(tried them all) it boots, starts loading windows and gives me a blue screen of death. Tried to encrease voltage, change latency, nothing works, the only settings that windows loads compleatly was 251/505 but it crashed in the middle of 3dmark3 back to blue screen of death.
I am quite willing to provide you with more extensive Bios settings of my system if you will just tell me what you all want to know. Any help will be greatly appreciated.

Unfortunately, This is a MAT / PAT issue.
You can try:-
Dynamic Overclocking: Disabled
Performance Mode: Slow
and memory timings of 3-4-4-8, but even at slow performance mode still affects your timings.

This simply is not the case the 875P boards only officially support upto DDR400. The only board to support higher memory speeds are the 865PE Neo2-PS series.
I would use CPU-Z to verify your actual memory timings and Memtest to ensure your memory is actually performing as it should, but I suspect this is a mobo issue.
Join the club waiting for MSI to sort out a BIOS that actually works with this memory.

875 neo - 8x agp ti4200 incompatible

Having problems with a ti4200 8x agp and a new msi 875 neo
When running in 8x agp mode, i am getting problems with the display when using 3d games, ie white flashes and eventual freezing up.
Running in an msi 845 chipset, the card runs fine at 8x agp mode
After been unsuccessful in trying to find a way to set the agp speed setting with the 875 neo under bios, i have resorted to using rivatuner to set the agp to 4x via software, and now the card works fine.
Is there any issues regarding the running of 8x agp video cards and the 875 chipset

I had issues with PNY Cards Ti4200 8x and also Pny Ti4400 both worked fine on other boards but not this one. Upgraded to ATI 9800 PRO and glad I did.]

i have just bought the MSI 875 Neo 2 mainboard , 3.0ghz FSB800,1 gb ddr400 mem , SB Audio 2 Plat EX , Radeon 9800pro 128,SCSI Card(Booting From)running XP.Bois 1.7
Disabled On Board Sound.
I have a few problems. (Have Downloaded new Updates)
1) Live monitor Crashes with error on Start up. Service is not Loaded ( Sometimes ).
2) Corecenter crashes my board and resets when i click on Auto. What do i need to setup for this to work or what is the best way to overclock this.??
3) when i go into the BIOS and try to switch from Slow Mode to Turbo my borad Hung on OS load and when i powered off and on the error from the bios was Timings to tight.The bios reset to defaults and i had to setup boot order and other things again.
I am new to all the overclocking stuff can anyone suggest anything, i have uninstalled CoreCenter as i did not want to crash my PC is there a Version i should use.

First off i would like to thank you all for you help.
I have solved my problem with the MB being unstable with Corecenter and LiveMonitor throwing up errors at login.
I stopped both apps loading at start up as they must hook into services. Xp is different from NT and 2000 in the way it loads Services, Microsoft thought they would make there OS seem like it boots faster by giving you a Logon screen in XP before all the services are loaded and running.This gives you the image that XP is super fast at loading.
So the problem has been solved, by not having the Apps load automatically while the services are not quite ready. Starting them a short period after login or waiting a while after the login screen comes up works everytime and i have managed to OC using the bios Fast option.

[875 NEO] Temperature issues

Hello everyone
I recently upgraded my bios to version 2.4 and now my cpu temps are showing a considerable increase in temp readings.
before I upgraded I was showing cpu at 27C to 31C (watercooled) now temps are around 50C.
Anyone know if bios 2.4 has temp reporting issues? I am using speedfan configured from the instructions on this board.
BTW I have the earlier version of the 875 Neo.

I did make a backup and tried to boot with it but when I inserted the backup disk and started the computer it got just past the ram drive part and gave me an error.
I remember reading something about holding CTRL-HOME at some point in the process...maybe thats why it failed?
I will copy the 2.3 BIOs file to the disk and try again....anyone have any comments on the disk error by chance?
I am at work atm so I cant give the exact error message right now, but is just after I saw AMIBOOT on the screen below the loading ram drive part.

WHich is the best driver verson for Audigy Se to use in Xp, I have full Driver Pack that comes with my Sound Card it's old,Drivers are of 2005 and Creative released Another set of drivers SBA_PCDRV_LB__04_006,Which is 2006 driver has not Microsoft WHQL Certified, and on 2007 another one SB24_VTDRV_LB__04_0077,Which is displaying my Audigy as SB Li've! 24bit under Sound & Audio Device properties,and the last 2007 version driver has so many problems When logon on to windows the logon sound is Automatically at High VOlume,It distorts,and all version of these Drivers lacks Treble,i should Pump up the treble In EQ to full get HIgh Frequencies Otherwise it's little bit Muddy,And 2007 Version has is faily Direct Sound Tests in Creative Diagonostic Utility.... There is some problems with Daniel_k Mod pack,even the latest support pack 2.6 , Sound is muddy in Games like Metro 2033,Nfs Most Wanted. PAX drivers are in Beta stage still Hope he will Fix the problem,So i'm Using CREATIVE Defalut Drivers, When Using Default one there is no Problem in games.... I don't see any pink jack on that card. Are you using the same Audigy SE card as in this link? As far as I can see from the picture, there's only 4 jack(Blue, Green, Black & Orange).
