[875P] DOT PAT settings interaction

I'm new to this board (and the 875P Neo) and have a question.
I've been trying to figure out how the DOT and PAT settings relate. I've searched the board for a bit and see bits and pieces of information but nothing with an overall explaination. I assumed from the lack of documentation from MSI they let the user figure for himself so they can't get into trouble when someone fry's a board/CPU.
If there is a post somewhere that goes over this I would appreciate a lead.
I can't set performance past Slow if DOT is set a Private for example. If I set performance to Fast, it gives an error "DRAM timimg too tightly" (Nice translation!) and resets to Slow. DRAM is currently locked at SPD settings. I figure the DRAM settings have to change but before I go there I'd like to understand things better. I also see from other posts the PC3200 DRAM I have may limit what I can do.
Thanks

smperfmgr ---> try setting your fsb to 201 (seems funny but its a magic number for all our 875/865 mobos if you've read through the forums).
ForceOfN4ture ---> with the rest of the "overclocking" options but only some 875/865 mobos have it. i personally dont have DOT but people with never revisions of the 875 neo fs2r do.

  • Update on BIOS & MEMORY problems? also DOT, PAT, settings...

Okie dokie, I'm new here, and I've been pouring through threads for the past 2-3 hours and doing searches, so please excuse these questions if they seem to have already been answered, but I would like to just ask a few (hopefully susinct) questions to get the quickest and most direct answers possible...
I just bought the 865pe-LS board, p-4 2.6ghz 800FSB HT CPU, and value-select Corsair PC3200 512MB dual-channel kit, and it has become apparent that there is or has been a HUGE problem with this board accepting corsiar memory.  ARGH   or should is say DOH for not checking into all of this BEFOREHAND!
But it seems that several bios versions have come out since the majority of those threads I have been reading about back in august.  Sooo, can anyone tell me if the current version, 1.9 bios, has fixed these incompatibilities with the corsairs memory sticks?  I realize that most people are going the LL version routes for the memory, and I have opted for the value-select versions...but it still seems to be a possible dilemma.  I am wondering if it is worth it to try to pay the 15% restock fee or sell it on ebay (hopefully for about what I paid) and go get the same stuff in kingston memory instead, since these seem to be much more compatible?  Or has this problem been fixed with newer bios versions?
Another important factor to consider, I think, is that I may not be THAT interested in overclocking much of anything, but perhaps just wishing to use the fast or turbo modes, probably not ultra-turbo since i would need the XMS or hyper-X versions to even try this.  If the bios is now accepting corsair, I am trying to figure out, short of "experimenting" since i have not gotten all of my components in yet, if its even possible or recommended to overclock or use the fast/turbo mode with the cas-3 value select dual-channel setup I will be using...any clues?
Lastly, which may have been already answered by now, is it best to use the PAT or DOT settings or opt for manual setting for any sort of higher-performance setup, considering my specs for my soon-to-be new computer?  Or does it really make THAT much difference?  Im not into squeezing out every nano-second of speed, but if a little tweaking would make a BIG difference and wouldnt require me spending MANY hours or days to do so, then I'm all for it.  I'm practically a noob at this stuff, only really educating myself in any depth about all this stuff tonight (going off of what outhers have recommended in making these purchases)...thanks for the understanding and the help in advance!
    *looking for any help*
      is how i feel, haha...*sigh*

There doesn't seem to be any particular Ram type that is working for everybody. Also, many people that are experiencing problems are trying to overclock(some to extremes). You don't seem very interested in that aspect. For the Ram, you really just have to put it in and see what happens.
If you haven't already, read the FAQ HERE for the Neo/Neo2 boards. Particularly #5 which will help you setup the SATA/IDE devices in the Bios. Use Native mode for Windows XP.
Things I would set in the Bios right out of the box:
(Some of these might already be set by default)
Boot device select- Order that you want to boot from particular devices. Might have to set "On-chip IDE Config" items first and re-boot to see all your devices here.
    HT-On
    MPS revision-1.4
    APIC ACPI....- Enabled
    Dram Timing- By SPD
Integrated Peripherals is fairly intuitive except the "On-chip IDE config" see FAQ page.
    DOT- disabled for now
    MAT- slow to start
    DRAM freq- 400
CPU Bus- 201(seems strange but do it; try a search here for "201" and you'll know why)
DDR voltage- 2.7v (like reilly said)
If this works OK(try something that stresses it) you can try raising the MAT to fast. After you're happy that this is stable, you can try turbo if you want but I'm not sure with the value Ram. Once you settle on this, try playing with the DOT features. I think General is the equivalent of a 10% increase on the system. Once you've found a setting you like here, you should leave it for a while and just enjoy your new compputer!
If you get bored, you can always go in and disable the DOT and manually raise FSB for more fun.
Things you should read up on before you do any overclocking:
    Clearing CMOS
    5:4 FSB/MEM ratio
    Have fun!

  • Msi 875p DOC/PAT/MAT help

hey, this is my first time posting here and i would like to know a little bit about this great motherboard i just bought
well i have the msi 875P NEO-FIS2R motherboard and, i've heard it has DOC and PAT modes, ive looked everywhere in the BIOS, but i cannot find where to set these settings...
tomshardware.com has also mentioned that the MSI 875p neo-fis2r motherboard HAS dynamic over clocking mode, but i just cannot find it on my mother board
any help here would greatly be appreciated, thx...

Wonkanoby:excellent link-thank-you! I've said it on one of my earlier posts two months ago that this canterwood chipset was rushed to market. Certainly the memory makers were caught off guard and didn't have the proper time to test the compatibility of their ram with the 875. This was proven as many manufacturer's had to reprogram the ras to cas spd from cas 2 to 3. Memory seems to be the biggest issue among the many mobo brands. It seems to me that (as the article suggested)that the mobo manufacter's are playing a game of hit or miss catch up with the chipset that Intel provided them with. Never could I remember so many bios revisions in such a short time. And least you think that more bios releases are better-I've seen complaints from customers of a competitor(with over a dozen releases)that each new bios is making the system a tad faster and more overclockable(a good thing)but also less stable(a very bad thing!)Grantsdale didn't have nearly these types of problems with dual DDR.
One question for you Wonkanoby-MSI did have a bios whereby manual memory adjustments were possible-I think either 1.32a or b.(It was with this bios that a user hit +25,000 3Dmark2001) Why can they not incorporate that feature from that bios into a forthcoming version. This seems to be the biggest complaint. Along with that a bios mode whereby no auto overclock of any bus takes place. What the user sets is exactly what he gets. This would certainly eliminate most of the complaints.
I'm quite happy with my 875 but feel like performance is being left on the table.

  • "dot-bug" in interactive field-names

    hi,
i think after the update to ID7.0.2 i got a bug with "dots" "." in field-names. Before i used these dots to manage my fields into folders, like this:
    a.bbb.01
so you get a main-folder "a" with one subfolder "bbb" and the field itself will be in "bbb"
that's the way you manage it usually in AC.
at first it's work's fine in ID, but suddenly ID produces for every "dot" in a fieldname a new folder with exact the same content.
if you try to manage this folders or "double-fields" AC will crashes immediately.
is anyone able to reproduce this bug? and if not, is there any preferences or something other i could try oder change to solve this problem?
    thx

    Hi,
you have to set the language and the country when creating the Adobe Interactive Form. If you are creating the Adobe Interactive Form using ABAP the following code will work:
      set up the document parameters
        ls_docparams-langu = 'DE'
        ls_docparams-country = 'DE'
      clear the document output
        CLEAR: ls_docoutput.
      call the generated function module
        CALL FUNCTION l_funcname
          EXPORTING
            /1bcdwb/docparams   = ls_docparams
            interface_structure = ls_interface
          IMPORTING

  • MSI 875P Neo MBM Settings

    Hi,
Does anyone know which settings I should use in MBM (Motherboard Monitor) for the selection fans and thermisters, im not sure which which option is monitoring which fan speed / temperature.

  • Can't overclock ! 875P Neo

    Hi,
    I just got a 875P Neo with a P4 2.4c ( FSB 800 ) and Corsair TwinX 3200 RAMs, and I can't get anything higher than a 15 mhz increase in FSB - 2.6 is the most I can get.
Increasing the CPU voltage to 1.7 and ram to 2.8 allowed me to boot with 222 FSB, but that's as far as I can go - the system hangs up.
    Temperatures are at about 40C.
I'm stumped. I thought this board is good at overclocking.
BTW, I cannot find DOT and PAT settings. I thought 875's have PAT ?
    Thanks for any advice.

    http://www.msi.com.tw/program/e_service/forum/index.php?threadid=27973&boardid=10
Some guy in here removed his ATI vid card and it worked after that...
Anyway, I didn't read the entire thread, it might offer you the solution you need?
please do not edit if you are asking a new question and aren't the last post in the thread, just make a new reply/thread ???  anyway, I'm not a mod here so it isn't really my business....
I believe dot is not in the bios yet, so you wouldn't be able to find that anyway, but I read here it will be available in the future. I do not know what PAT is...yet

  • Working space settings for Grayscale?

(Preliminary remark: I'm using the German version of PS, so some items may be called differently in the English version.)
In the colour settings of PS CS4 I can define a working space for gray scale pictures. What does this setting actually do?
I know that there is no ICC colour management for grayscale pictures, so what do the dot gain settings do? Do they just darken the display or is there more? What do the gamma settings do? What does "Black&White mean? What does sGray mean? Does Photoshop somehow add ICC profiles to grayscale pictures? If yes, which and what does it do?
So far I decided to just set "no adjustment". The reasoning is that this should display the true greyscale values on the screen. I then can add dot gain as needed manually as a final step. Does this make sense or am I misunderstanding something?
Bonus question: What about the spot colour settings? Are they applied to multichannel pictures?

    p_d_f wrote:
Yes, there really are Grayscale ICC profiles...
Thank you. After contemplating a bit, I think I've finally understood where my confusion originated. But the more I understand, the more new questions arise.
So far I've understood that if a picture is to be displayed on an internet site or used in an office application, then I best work with the gamma 2.2 profile. If the target computer honours ICC profiles, then it desn't matter anyway which profile I use, but if the target computer ignores ICC profiles, then most computers out there will display the picture with a gamma of 2.2 (more or less) because this tends to be the default setting on most computers.
But when it comes to pictures for print, some questions remain.
To begin with, I could continue to work as I did without colour management. I would first "convert" the picture to the profile "no corrections". This would mean that "the numbers" in the picture are the same as the gray values the final user should see. And then I would account for dot gain by either applying a gradation curve or by saving as EPS with a transfer curve.
However if I want to use colour management, then I "convert" the picture to the the printer's ICC profile. Without a specialized program, I cannot create such a profile myself, even if I know the transfer curve. So either I find a suitable profile somewhere or the print shop must provide me that profile.
So far I think I understand. But now the questions.
Concerning missing profiles: Can I just take the gray channel of a suitable CMYK profile (e.g. ISO Coated v2) or would this contain some sort of black generation information which would spoil a grayscale picture?
I assume that it's possible to embed the black and white point into the profile, so that I don't have to worry about them anymore but can assign the full range of gray values from 0% to 100%. With the colour sync tool, I looked into the grayscale profiles that come with Photoshop, and as far as I can tell, none of them does set the black and white point. So I assume that despite using colour management, I have to do this by hand in the picture itself by assigning appropriate grayscale values?
If I find a profile which does set the black and white point, then I assume that this is done lossless when I set the intent to "photographic", but when I set the intent to "colorimetrc", then the shadows and lights are just clipped (which jeopardizes the idea)?
I see that the profiles contain a intent. I assume that this embedded intent will be overridden by the colour setting in photoshop?
What does the option "blackpoint compensation" (or similiar, I use the German photoshop) do with grayscale images? Does it alter the black point, so I should turn the potion off off when I set it by hand? Is there some documentation what this option *exactly* does?
The colour settings in Photoshop offers "dot gain xx%" settings, but I didn't find such profiles. Do I assume correctly that those are "internal" profiles of photohop? Are they documented somewhere?
    Thanks.

  • Export Print Press Quality at 300 dpi vs. Interactive at 150 dpi

When I export a file from InDesign using the Press Quality preset, 300 dpi, I get a smaller file size than when I export it as an Interactive PDF with the dpi set at 150. Just wondering why?

300 dpi. I'm attaching some screen shots for the two settings, interactive and print quality. When exporting, you are given some choices for "interactive", "print", "epub", etc. The two things I'm wondering about are interactive and print formats. As I understand it, the Interactive format is better for viewing on devices such as iPads, etc. I'm just puzzled as to why the file size is larger even though my DPI settings are lower.

  • [Solved] AwesomeWM interactive debugging?

    Hi all,
I was wondering if anyone knows of a way to try out different Awesome settings interactively from within a session?
The standard way to test settings seems to be to modify rc.lua and then either restart Awesome, or run a new sessions in Xephyr.
Does anyone know if it's possible to open a Lua console that is linked to the current awesome session? It would be nice to be able to inspect things like "awful.tag.getnmaster()" from within the console.'
    Any ideas?
    Last edited by hughitt1 (2013-10-13 13:44:00)

Ah okay, I had tried using awesome-client before, but could not figure out how to access properties from the current session. Making naughty and awful both global variables, I was able to run:
    awesome# naughty.notify({text=awful.tag.getnmaster()})
I would be nice if awesome-client had some more of the features in a typical lua console (e.g. print() and variable inspection), but this is a pretty helpful step.
    Thanks for the suggestion!

  • Update on 875 and 865 next bios release

me .when is the next 875 and 865 bios due for release
msi.It will be release by 8/27
    quote: me
and that dates for both boards yes?
    msi.Yes
    quote: me
can i assume the raid 1 bits been added in as you said a few weeks ago
msi.It was still not added as according to the test engineer, the Intel RAID 1 BIOS still has problem which is not yet resolved. So it might have to wait for the next further revision
so there you go thats what they have to say

"There is a BIOS setting in the 875 where you can choose Performance Mode: Slow, Medium, Fast, Ultra Fast or something to the extent. Is that the overclocking mechanism? "
No MSI calls that "MAT"  There is some dispute as to exavtly what "MAT" is.
In my testing of "MAT" it is nothing more than ram presets. MSI, unlike other MB companies, for some reason has not figured out how to properly enable The PAT function.
For instance, if you choose "slow mode" your memory timings become locked in that mode. MSI erroneously claims that this feature "turns off MAT".. Try it and see for yourself. No matter what you set your dram timings to under slow mode, they will be the SPD of your ram PERIOD. This is a "fact" not my opinion.
My advice to MSI would be to completly "turn off this feature" until they learn to properly utilize the Intel 875's PAT capabilities.
It appears MSI is completly at a loss with this board at this current time.
Now it has been said to me that I am accusing "MSI" OF Being dishonest. In fact I am accusing the enigeers at MSI of being exactly that. They are not going to tell people, even people in their own CO that "we just are at a loss up until this time figuring out how to properly ultilize MAT, PAT, ETC.. Amd/or "we cannot get Intels 3.5 SATA ICH5R'S 0 function to properly run either. This is the contention I had with the moderator here. I could have said it in a nicer way, but It is clear people are confused by these issues.
Clearly, if this is the case, If the problem lies with Intel, then why have other MB CO'S Properly implemented the 3.5 bios? The answer needs not to be spoken again, it speaks for itself, the answer is common sense.
    There are certain people in MSI'S Marketing depo that obviously have been given false information concerning this feature.. Well I will give you an example just how far MSI is lagging with utilizing the PAT function;
It was not until Bios revison 1.5 that MSI even introduced this MAT to the 875 bios. This indicates clearly that MSI did not utilize Intel's PAT function at all out of the box in the proper manner.
I am not here to "pick" on MSI.. This 875 bnoard can be a nice board. The problem is that MSI rushed this board to market when clearly it really still is a "beta board"
    To clear this point up;
There is NO DOT FUNCTION on the 875 board. That function is the screen that automates overclocking with selected preset configurations. See for yourselves. Look on your MSI Boxes.. Do you see the DOT logo? Now look on the 865 boards, you will indeed find the DOT logo..Simple enough right?
DOT has names like "Captain" "Seargent" ETC.. If you can find that on The current 1.60 875 bios, ILL EAT MY OWN SHORTS!! DOT has nothing to do with PAT, while MAT "semi has something to do with it"
    In my opinion, MSI needs to integrate their "MAT" with the proper "PAT" functions.An example would be;
MAT settings.. SLOW, FAST, TURBO, ULTRA TURBO.
    PAT settings.. ENABLED, AUTO, DISABLED..
When set to disabled this would "grey out" all MAT serttings and give ram configurations back to the end user.
The above is THE RIGHT WAY TO ULTILIZE PAT..
The board itself has nice features. The major issue here is poor bios enigeering.. This is not meant to be an insult to MSI. If they work hard anough at this issue, WITHOUT SEEKING SHORCUTS AND BITCHING AND BLAMING INTEL, they should be able to implement the proper bios settings eventually.
Until then, do not expect top performance combined with stability from your 875 boards.. Gigabyte is having some similar issues.
All The MB CO'S had or have issues with PAT to a certain degree. However some, which I will not name becausae I promised the moderator I would not, have already correctly figured things out.. There are 2 that have that I am aware of. One I have already mentioned, the other one I was a little suprised that they did figure things out.. being that this other one is known for high rma's because of their tweaked out Bios features.(which people screw up)
MSI; do not blame the problems on Intel, you are commited to this board, its in market, FIX IT.. Hire the right guys if needed that have the knowlege and skill to do so. If not, scrap it and start over with another board.
BE HONEST, this includes telling your marketing people the truth. "we are having issues correctly implementing PAT on the new 875 boards, we apologize and are working on it very hard to better serve you OUR CUSTOMERS"
Deceiving the end user to the point he/she becomes confused over this issue, I will not stand around for. To the moderator; I have not rudly bashed on MSI, Nor have I named called them. It is up to you whether or not you wish to delete this post, or do the right thing and let people decide for themselves.. Again concerning this man named "Larry" I was not calling him a liar either. Let me ask you what does Larry do at MSI? Marketing? Correct me if I am wrong but if he is not in Asia, then he has nothing to do with the engineering of this board, and my contention is not with him.
See, I am for the end user, "WE THE USER".. Knowledge in our hands is power, and power to make the right decisions for our computer systems and peace of mind knowing they will work as advertised. I beleive we need to hold all CO'S to their words, otherwise, we the people will continue to be ripped off to a degree, constantly facing "buyers remorse."  Peace

  • My Macbook Pro suddenly, and for no apparent reason, will not connect to the internet?

About a week ago I went to go online and my computer said I had no internet connection.  Around that same time I noticed that my background on my desk top was back to the factory set background it came with, but I did not change it.  That is the only thing I noticed out of sorts.  I asked the other members of my family if their computers had internet and they DO.  So does my iPod.  I knew it was not my internet service, but my computer.
There is a "!" on the internet signal icon (top right).  When I click on it I get a message in the drop down menu that says "Alert:  No Internet Connection...."  When I click on that, I get "Network Diagnostics" pane asking me to select location.  I choose 'automatic', 'continue', then 'Wi-Fi' and 'continue'.  Then it asks me to select Wi-Fi network.  I highlight my network then continue.  At this point, the words on the left are Wi-Fi- with a green dot, Wi-Fi settings with a green dot, Network settings with a yellow dot, ISP with a green dot, and Interenet and Server both with red dots.  Then it comes up  * "Network Change Detected - your network configuration has changed.  Click OK to proceed to the next step".  When I click OK,  it asks me for wireless security info.  I choose WEP password and then put my password in, and check the box next to "remember password in keychain", then continue.  Goes right back to the "Network Change Detected" message at the * above  and all the dots to the left accept the Wi-Fi one are now RED.  I just keep going in circles from there, continually coming back to this message no matter what I do!  I have no idea what happened or what to do?!
Does anyone have any ideas?  Please help!  I am a student and don't have any money to take it to a professional.  I am the only one in my house that has a Mac (everyone else has PC's) so no one can really help me troubleshoot.  I'm not a techy at all, but can follow directions if anyone can give me specific steps to try. Thank you so much in advance!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I have not tested the solution suggested in the article linked above.
    But hope it helps.

  • Help! My system crashes very often and without any apparent reason.

    Hello,
I think I have the same problem as Juju had in a previous thread.
    My sistem has the following:
      Pentium 4 2.4GHz HT (800 MHz FSB),
      MSI 865PE Neo2-LS MB,
      2 x 256MB DDR400 made by PQI,
Nvidia GEForce 4 MX440 with 64MB RAM (Only AGP 4x),
      SoundBlaster Live! 4.1 (Value)
      Windows XP Pro OS
First, I couldn't install Win XP with memory in dual channel
configuration, but only with a single memory module.
Then, with one module or both modules in single (or dual) channel, I receive a lot of Page Fault errors from DirectX applications (like Unreal 2 and NFS 6), or even from RadLight
or MediaPlayer with some xvid encoded movies. The system also reboots from time to time. The errors are not so frequent when using only one memory module, but they are
    still present.
I must say that all these applications were running with no errors on my previous system (which had the same video and sound cards, but a PIII motherboard and SDRAM).
I have tried different memory settings (even have set timings to the highest possible values - lowest performance) in BIOS but there is no change. I have also disabled HT, but still no result.
The temperature of the CPU is 45-55 degrees Celsius and the system temparature is 35-40 C.
Please, can somebody help me with this problem.
Can it be from the MB, from the memory, or from the video card ? Or even Win XP ?
    Best Regards,
    DaveJones

Highest memory bandwidth: Dual DDR combines the power of DDR400 with two independent memory controllers, which yields a staggering 6.4GB per second of memory bandwidth¡Xtwice the memory bandwidth of other DDR400 chipsets. Increased memory bandwidth delivers better system and graphics performance, resulting in more overall productivity.
Lowest latency: Both memory controllers operate concurrently with each other to hide latencies associated with typical chipsets. For example, controller "A" reads or writes to main memory while controller "B" prepares for the next access, and vice versa. As important is the second-generation DASP (dynamic adaptive speculative preprocessor), which has been re-architected for improved performance.
Most stable and flexible memory system: End-users can now populate higher density DIMMs, up to 1GB each, to utilize the entire 3GB memory address map. This large memory map allows more applications, audio and video streams to coexist without conflict.

Sorry to disagree. CAS Latency of 2.5 or even 3 does not prevent you from running in dual channel mode. It may hinder MAT or PAT settings.

  • File Name of Image Displayed in PSE 8 does not match File Path Name in Windows 7

I recently got a new computer  .I upgraded on my Windows XP computer from PSE 5.0 to PSE 8.0.  I then moved my files to the new computer running Windows 7 following the instructions I received on an earlier post.  I copied the catalog folder and the picture folders on the C drive from the old to the new computer (catalog folder to location specified in System Info;  images to My Pictures).   Everything appears to have worked beautifully without having to go through a big Reconnect struggle.  The organzer appears to have found all of the images and I can bring them up in Editor as well.  However, when I look at the properties of a given image the full file name displayed is what it was on XP, i.e., C:\Documents and Settings\<username>\My Documents\My Pictures\<folder name>\<file name> rather than the path as it is in Windows 7, i.e., C:\Users\<user name>\My Pictures\<folder name>\<file name>.  I am new to Windows 7 so maybe I am missing something unique to Windows 7 but I would appreciate any information.

You're observing the special folder aliases that Vista and Windows 7 create to preserve backward compatibility (Microsoft keeps changing how and where users' documents are stored).   On Windows 7:
    C:\Documents and Settings\<username>\My Documents\My Pictures
is a special kind of alias to the folder:
    C:\Users\<user name>\Pictures
(And C:\Users<user name>\My Pictures is yet another kind of Windows 7 special alias, a "library", that includes the folder C:\Users<user name>\Pictures.)
Whenever an application like PSE refers to the old location, C:\Documents and Settings\<username>\My Documents\My Pictures, Windows automatically translates that under the covers to C:\Users\<user name>\Pictures.   But Windows Explorer is configured to prevent you from accessing C:\Documents and Settings\ interactively -- only programs like PSE are able to do that.  Microsoft wants users of Windows Explorer to always use the "new" name,  C:\Users\<user name>\Pictures.
In your case, your catalog contained the old XP folder paths, and Windows is automatically translating them on the fly to the new paths, unbeknownst to PSE.
Like most such backward-compatibility hacks, this does not work perfectly.  PSE thinks that the old path and the new path refer to two completely different folders.  I'm not positive, but I think there are opportunities for PSE to get confused by that.   When you import new photos, they will get recorded in the catalog under the new folder paths.
In my previous recommendation for how to move to the new computer, I had assumed that you would most likely be changing user names and photo locations, and thus you would be forced to do a Reconnect, and you wouldn't have encountered this.  If I had thought you weren't going to need a Reconnect, I would have recommended not using this method but rather using Backup/Restore (my first recommended method)  -- my bad.
It may well be that your current catalog and PSE will work well enough.   But there is at least a small risk that down the road PSE will get confused by the old and new folder names.  The easiest way to avoid that risk would be to start over and use the Backup/Restore method for moving your catalog, whch is more effort on your part.  But because I don't fully understand the risk, I can't tell you whether you should be worried about it.   Definitely do some testing: editing, importing and editing new photos, use Display > Folder Location view, try renaming and moving old photos to new folders, try the Photo Downloader, etc.

  • Drawing 2d line chart problem, urgent please!!!

    Hello,
can anyone help me with the function GRAPH_MATRIX_2D please,
i couldn't draw a line graph with three data series, i mean with three lines in the graph.
i want to the chart to be drawn as line graph at the beginning, i shouldn't have to change the chart type later,
can anybody send me a sample code that does what i want.
    i am expecting your answers,
    thanks.

    Hi,
have you checked the two reports Matthias mentioned?
After downloading the SAP Chart Designer the general procedure should look like: create your chart settings interactively using the designer. Save these settings as a local XML file. Use this XML in your ABAP application and additionally create a data XML at runtime (the format is described in the pdf of the SAP Chart Designer zip).
    Regards, Kai
PS: Please don't use these very outdated function modules graph_matrix* / grstat* in new projects!

  • Configuration not working 'intuitively'...

    I have a 720p TV ( 51 inch Samsung plasma)
My 3rd generation AppleTV (purchased yesterday!) streams brilliantly full HD (1080p) vids directly from YouTube.
But when I turn on desktop mirroring ( mac mini, mid-2011, now updated to Mtn Lion) - and play a video from a website running fullscreen HD (1920x1080p) the TV set shows it very laggy and jerky ( though the desktop itself is smooth)
If I set the desktop to 720p, then it all looks smooth on the TV ( which is natively 720p anyway). OK, so there is my "workaround".
BUT thinking I can simplify things, (keep my mac deskop 1080p) - i went into the AppleTV settings, and set it to 720p.
(Figuring i can set AppleTV mittoring "best for AppleTV")
STRANGELY, this clips the desktop on the TV set - I only see about 2/3rds of it! (even when the computer is outputting 720p)
So, counterintuitively, I had to set AppleTV to 1080p, and set the desktop to 720p ( which makes it look all fuzzy since its own native display is 1080p).
This is the only way I can stream fullscreen desktop video smoothly to my AppleTV!
I have updated the appleTV to the latest firmware, and I am running latest Mtn Lion. ( as of today)
I'd rather not have to be flipping the desktop around all the time - I was expecting that if the AppleTV was set to 720p, then the desktop would automatically scale and send out 720p in the background, when setting up mirroring with the configuration "Best for AppleTV".
Oddly, this is not the case! Seems AppleTV may be wrongly detecting my TV set as 1080p ( its natively 720p, though obviously it can scale just fine when fed 1080p)
Has anybody else noticed this? My main beef is that the AppleTV shows 4 of 5 bars on my wifi connection - but it can still only smoothly stream fullscreen 720p from the desktop mirror.
Seems a bit odd when the same box can natively stream 1080p vids BEAUTIFULLY when it is fed directly YouTube from its own menu.
I sincerely hope this will be fixed in an upcoming Mtn Lion update...

OK - having pondered a little...
I don't mind if the AppleTV wants to think my Samsung plasma TV is a 1080p when its not.
And.... perhaps the little Intel 3000 video chip in the mac mini can only send out one video stream at a time.
Thats fine! I can understand it might be a limitation of the hardware.
So I guess what I'm really asking is to be able to leave my default desktop setting at 1080p, but whenever I activate AppleTV desktop mirroring, it automatically sets the desktop to 720p. (and then when I turn off mirroring, it resets the desktop back to the native 1080p of the display. (Coincidentally, its a Samsung 28 inch display)
If you ask me, THAT would be 'intuitive"!
Also, it would be helpful if there was some DOCUMENTATION somewhere on how all these settings interact.
Is AppleTV desktop mirroring just so new that no one has had time to write the documentation?
I must say its great to be able to broadcast the desktop (and audio) to our big TV downstairs.
But if everything made sense in the various configuration menus, I'd be rather more satisfied...
