8830 Chinese Software

Just got a 8830 from Sprinit.  But I have many emails in Chinese charaters.  Anybody knows how to read or type Chinese in 8830 World Edition?
Thanks

Sprint desktop doesn't have CJK support, only EFS (eng, french, spanish).  Can you find out where I can download 8830 OS with CJK?
Thank you in advance.
EDIT:
This is all I found on the Blackberry website through Sprint's website

  • Blackberry 8830 GSM software upgrade

Hi guys, im new to this forum and need some help.
I have a 8830 with the CDMA software loaded.
Where can I find the GSM update?

Well, according to the specs page, the device is capable of "Dual-band 900/1800 Mhz GSM/GPRS network" (as well as CDMA). So, if that is the network in Jamaica, then the BB should be good to go out of the box (assuming you've set the radio to the correct settings, that is)...no software required. I'd suggest going back to Digicel and asking them exactly what they mean...since no one seems to agree with their requirement for some GSM software...

    http://www.nokia-asia.com/nokia/0,,96197,00.html
I have selected a language to downloaded is english version ..NokiaSoftwareUpdaterSetup_en.exe 22.6mb
My question is after I upragde to a new verison of this software ..Will my N95 phone still have the Simplified Chinese & English version or not..????
Or plesae suggest me some other way where I can upgrade my software and I can still have my Chinese+English version N95.

i have n80, i bought that phone at singapore..
and it have chinese langguage and i use the phone in indonesia..
evertime i update my n80, the chinese langguage is still there. because i buy n80 since the first time that phone launch i already update it for 5 times, if i not miss calculate..
and yes the chinese stil there and i update it in indonesia not at singapore..
and after i compare to my friend n80 indonesia version, there isnt any chinese langguage...
so i think it depend on phone code and region code. if u use *#0000# it will shown firm ver and there is RM number. and my rm number is defirent from n80 indonesia ver. so if there chinese ver since you buy that phone perhaps evertime you update it, it will still there...

When the system language is Japanese, using chinese software, chinese characters sometimes thick sometimes thin.
When the system language is Chinese, using japanese software, kana  characters is thicker than kanji characters.

This is how it works in iOS, you normally need to have Japanese higher in the language list than Chinese when you are using Japanese text, otherwise the wrong font gets used for at least some characters, and the other way around as well.
You can ask Apple to try to fix this via
    http://www.apple.com/feedback
but it is very difficult in a Unicode system.

  • Chinese package for N97

I updated my N97 to version 11.0.021 and my chinese software is gone. Downloaded and installed the TTS Mandarin Chinese .SIS from N97 site, and still cannot read and write chinese. Anyone knows how to get round this?
    Solved!

the only way you can change a language pack is by going to nokia care. also make sure that the language you use plus the language you want are both in a specific language pack. nokia care will install the desired language pack for a small fee. there is few things to keep in mind, you will lose your installed language pack if you update a firmware and/or have to reformat your phone. in that case your language pack will default to whatever native pack was installed with the firmware meant for this product code.

  • Chinese Surpport for Nokia N73?

Hallo, I buy the Phone in Germany. And *#0000# gives

    30-10-2006

    Nokia n73(72.01).
How can i see chinese and install chinese software on my phone?

Looks like you bought a phone that was meant for another region and the language pack containing Chinese was installed afterwards by the retailer. The retailer should have told you this. When you updated the firmware, the phone reverted back to its original language set. Worst of all, the warranty may not be valid in your country.
Anyway, language packs can only be installed by Nokia Care Points and you will lose it again the next time you update your firmware.

  • The App Store asks to "verify" my personal information, For my name, state, credit card, etc. I don't even live in the US and I don't have a CC, nor do I want to give away my personal information. I just want to download free apps. Any work-arounds?

    Title says it all.
I'm really getting sick of websites getting more and more into your business. Google forcing you to get a G+ account and asking for your identifying information, for example (like your phone number).
It's extremely irritating, and I'm opting out of everything that enforces the such. If Apple begins pushing like this, I will just close my relationship with the company and obtain apps by using third-party software to force them onto the phone.
But before going that far, I'd like to find work arounds.
First of all, I don't even know why it asks me for my "state". I don't even live in the USA anymore, as I moved to China (though I won't use the Chinese store as I don't speak or understand the local language, which is Chinese).
All I want... is to continue using the English App Store to get free apps from here in my home in China, without getting stopped by Apple asking for more info on me. I don't want to share my name, I don't want to share my address, and I can't even complete the form as I no longer have a "state" and don't have any credit info.
So that's just that. If there's no way around it I'll find another way to install apps without the App Store.
Sorry for the message tone, I'm just really irritated with the way the internet is getting.
    Thanks in advance!
    - Alex

The living issue is complex in my case. Legally speaking, I have no personal residence globally. I just live wherever my father goes, which is everywhere. I'm an expat and it seems that these sites aren't really expat-friendly. They seem to be built for localization and assume everyone stays in the same place.
I don't know what I'd be considered. I'm a US passport holder and live in China, but I only speak some Chinese and I can't read it (it using non-latin characters is just too much for my mind's memory to handle). Besides that, I'm not interested in popular Chinese apps. They tend to just be annoying and kooky and generic and put together badly, often full adware and spyware (speaking for most Chinese software, in fact). In fact, a lot of apps I want are illegal in China (YouTube, Facebook, etc) and I use a VPN to use the services. I assume I wouldn't find these apps on the Chinese store. In fact, last I checked, there wasn't many English apps on the Chinese app store. This is probably due to their strict moderation or something.
I've been going to international schools since I got here and college would be in English too. I can speak some Chinese, but not read it.
Well, I guess the answer is that I can't use the App Store in English. So I guess I'll just sign out everything on my phone involving my Apple account and just start using third-party tools to do my business.

I accidentally added a Chinese software keyboard in setup. How do I delete it? (ipod2)

I assume you mean iPad 2 not "ipod2" ... go to Settings - General - International Keyboards - Add New Keyboard - enter the one you want - then choose Edit - delete the Chinese keyboard.

  • Cant format/scandisk Zen nano p

    Hello
I'm from Italy. I have a Zen Nano plus Giga since month and it worked well, till now.
Today I disconnected it while transferring a file and the flash memory was corrupted. My firmware is .3.05e and I never tried to update it.
I have Windows98-SE with media storage drivers _07_00_250 downloaded from this site because, even if the box says "win98 compatible" the installation CD refused to run because "this software cant run on windows98" (?!?)
The problem is I cant reformat the player, nor use the scandisk to fix it. In both cases, windows hangs during the operations. I have tried this on 3 different computers, all of them have win98 (with creative drivers) giving the same results. In the past, all of these computers were used to write and read files into the player without problems...
The manual says a driver is needed to format ZEN using win 98, but I think it's talking about the same drivers to read/write the player I'm already have, I'm right?
Also, notice the "format" panel in win98 doesn't let user select the format type (there aren't the voices FAT, FAT32 ecc)
    What can I do? Tanks.
    Alberto.

    I returned it...
I changed it with a Packard Bell Giga FM... just to discover it's near the same machine!
Yes, outside they may look different and the display is very different.
But functions (and defects) are the same:
    Let's compare them... They have:
    -both 20 preset for radio.
-both the FM radio recording capability AS A 4 BIT WAV (what a strange coincidence...)
-both a Equalizer who works with mp3 songs but NOT with the radio.
-both the same system to skip folders
-both a build-in microphone with the same two folders to keep wav files
-both act like as memory pen using the same manner
-both have exactly the same way to update the firmware
...and there are a lot of other coincidences...
Most of all, looking at the Packard Bell support forum, I discover a place very similiar to this, with people facing EXACTLY the same problems like here: the player shut-off on the boot, OR the memory cant read/write OR the player was "killed" during a firmware update.
After some research, I discovered the reason for this.
Creative, Packard Bell (and most of brands, I think) are using the EXACTLY THE SAME mp3 chip made in China. This chip incorporate all the functions you need, you have only to add a nice box around adding the display and the mass memory you prefer... the chinese software is complete: you only need to add a menu to show (or hide, i'm afraid) the functions of this chip...
I'm afraid people waiting for "open source" or waiting for significati've improvements in firmware will wait forever...because the seller don't owns the real core of the firmware, as you see...
Also, people always asking "who sounds better" will be happy to know they all sound well in the same manner
Compared with other players, the NANO looks "cool" and have the "line-in" function carried out... And this is all, folks!
...if only they let me to restore the original firmware I was happy to keep my NANO, but I need the radio recording and the new firmware removes it...
    what a pity...
    Bye and greetings from Italy,
    Alberto.

  • Can you help with this serious error message?

I have Premiere Elements 8.  I tried to open some .prel that I have made and now I get this error message:   Projects created with Adobe Premiere Pro and Adobe Premiere Elements are not compatible.  Please use the appropriate application to open this project.  What gives??  Also, as usual, Premiere Elements 8 crashes after I have accomplished one lousy thing, so I have to constantly open project and save.  Now I can't even open a project.
Thanks for any help you can give me.

Holy cow! Something is seriously wrong here, lilthea!
What model of camcorder is your video coming from and what format and resolution is it?
What project settings did you select when you set up your project? (You can see them under Edit/Project Settings.)
Version 8 was not the best version of the program ever produced. In fact, it was one of the worst, when first released. But if you downloaded the update (from Help/Check for Updates) and the rest of your system is stable, you should at least be able to edit video from a miniDV, HDV or even AVCHD camcorder.
If you truly can't do ANYTHING without it crashing though, there's something much, much deeper going on that a bug in your program or its set-up. (This is why I need you to be as specific as you can about things!) If things are really that unstable, it could indicate malware or viruses or possible corruption of the operating system.
I sometimes recommend a program that I use every week but that some people object to because it's Chinese software and has been accused of stealing virus definitions from other software companies. But it's got an easy interface. Just select Deep Care, click the go button and then select the option to clean. In my opinion, it makes your operating system as good as new. But there are some people who disagree, so that's my personal recommendation only.
Download the free version from here:
    http://www.iobit.com/advancedsystemcareper.html
What you're dealing with could be problems with your source video -- since I don't have enough information to say either way. But, assuming your video came from a miniDV, HDV or AVCHD camcorder and that you've properly set up your project to those specs, a tune-up using Advanced System Care might be worth considering.

  • Multi Language: Asian language up-grade into my new BB8120

Is there any software I could download traditional chinese software in my new BB8120

You can download the 'Multilanguage' version of that device's hadlheld software from here: http://na.blackberry.com/eng/support/downloads/download_sites.jsp. Then follow these steps to install the software onto the BlackBerry: http://www.blackberry.com/btsc/KB03621. Once you get to step 8, just check off the Asian Language choices that appear in the list

  • X3-00 re-flash with different language possible th...

My X3-00 died recently, without having received any mistreatment whatsoever.  It displayed "sim card registration failed" when I connected to the internet, and after turning it off, it wouldn't turn on again (*it showed the Nokia logo, then a white screen flashed 3 times before it turned off).
It was fixed at a certified Nokia service by re-flashing it.  This phone had the Chinese version of the software (version 8.50).  The local Nokia Service Point said that nowhere in Europe is it possible to re-install the original Chinese software for this phone, so they installed European version 8.54.  This means I lost the ability to either display or enter Chinese characters.  (Furthermore they didn't accept the still valid warranty that was given for this phone in China ... )
Is it really true that Nokia Service Centres in Europe cannot install the original Chinese version of the software on the phone?  Is it true that Nokia won't provide this version for them?  Furthermore is it true that the warranty is only valid where the phone was purchased, not in other countries?
The loss of Chinese functionality is very annoying.

Also: It is usually the case with consumer electronics that the warranty is only valid in the country where the product was purchased.
I.e., if you buy a phone in Italy, but live in Finland, you have to return the phone to Italy for warranty reports.
That doesn't really make sense from a consumer's point of view, if it is still the same manufacturer that is responsible for the warranty repair costs (fixing the device or replacing it), but that's still how they operate (how laws and regulations in countries permit the companies to operate).
