8900 Curve call log icon

I recently switched over from my 8800 to my new 8900 Curve -- I love the 8900 however I miss the call log icon and the call log in general -- My options are set for call logging however the call logs are mingled with my email messages and as such are difficult to track -0-0 where as my 8800 had a separate call log -- with an icon on my desktop which made it very easy to see missed calls and so on. Thanks!

1. If you press the green dial key, you should open direct to the Call Log. Does that not happen on your device?
2. To remove the calls logged from your main messages folder, open the Call Log by pressing the green dial key > press the Menu key > Options > Call Logging and remove the choice from ALL.
And save.

  • Nokia 6120 classic - Call log icons bug

    Hi to all.
This is my first message in the forum.
One week ago I bought a Nokia 6120 classic with brand Vodafone (I'm from italy).
Everything works great except  the icons in the call log, accessible with the green key (that's to say the answer key).
In fact, despite the phone numbers are correctly stored (and divided, for each contact, into mobile, home, etc.), the icons in the call lag is always the small blue icon related to a mobile phone niumber, even if  the number does not correspond to a mobile phone number.
    I have firmare version 4.21.
This is what appears with *#0000#
    v 04.21
    09-10-07
    RM-243
    Nokia 6129c EMS53.02
Through Nokia Software Updates I see there is a new firmare: v6.01.
Do you know if this firmware fix the call log icons bug?
As it is the unique bug I faced, I don't want to go on with a firmeware update if the new firmare do not solve it.
Unfortunately I can't find on the web a changelog for this firmware.
    Many thanks.

well the change logs for firmware updates are not public knowledge, they do not get released so in reality you never know what you are getting. firmware update is always recommened as it brings in more stability to the phone, usually fixes bugs, improves speed, sometimes battery performance and other identified issues. the chances are that you will not be able to find a changelog for your phone. you may not be able to update your phone unless it has been approved by voda since your phone is branded it is up to them to release approved firmware versions for thier customers.
You know what I love about you the most, the fact that you are not me ! In love with technology and all that it can offer. Join me in discovery....

  • Call logs icon pic of handset colored in

I was looking at my call log and saw that the little phone icon next to one number was filled in, blue. The others were not filled in.  What does that mean?  I assigned it a customized phone ring, could that have changed the color of the handset icon?
    Thanks

I believe the seekrit code for that is something like this:
Blue filled in - Received call answered
not filled in - not answered
Green filled in - Dialed call completed
not filled in - no answer or you disconnected the call before an answer.

  • Call Log icons

On my C5, when I enter the phone number into the phone book it asks wheter this is a (1) Home phone, or a (2) Cell or (3) Pager, etc.  A Home Phone has a rotary phone icon, a cell phone has an icon which looks like a cell phone, etc.
When I make a call, and look at it through the Call Log, all numbers dialed have a Cell Phone icone next to them, whether I dialed the Home number or a Pager for a contact.  Is there  a way yo fix that?

is your numbers stored on the phone or the sim card ?
If  i have helped at all a click on the white star below would be nice thanks.

  • Curve - Call Log Being Stored in Work Email

Has anyone else experienced this problem?  My call log suddenly disappeared.  I called ATT & they had me erase a bunch of stuff, which didn't help.  I tried a few other things on my own, and now I have a call log, but it's showing up under my email icon, instead of under the phone icon.  It is SO annoying.  Does anyone know how to fix this?  Thanks.

Your call log disappeared, due to low memory.  The Blackberry devices have a Low Memory Manager, that once you hit 400k (or less) memory, the phone will begin deleting call logs and text messages.  Using a memory card will help alleviate these issues.  However, one other thing to remember, would be to make sure all programs are shut down properly.
On your Home Screen, press and hold Alt and Escape (Back - next to red END key) keys.
A window pops up, showing all open applications.
While continuing to hold down Alt, release Escape, and scroll through the app list, with your trackball.
When you find an application, let go of Alt.  This will open that application.
Use Menu - Close, or your Escape key, to close the program.
There are 5 programs that will never close completely, on a Blackberry.  These are: Browser, Home screen, Messages, Phone (Call log) and BB Messenger.  If you are running Brickbreaker, BB Maps, or even small apps, it will take a lot of memory.
Go into Options > Status, to view your File Free, to see what a difference it makes, once these are closed down.
    Hope this helps!!  =)

Hi and welcome to the forums!
You cannot unzip files on the curve unless you use a utility like ziplorer.
Call logs can be accessed by pressing the call log icon. I have attached a screen
    shot.

  • No calls in call log in coming or out going

I accidently hid my call log icon and in finding it and restoring it I must have turned off or on something ,,,,,,,now my phone doesn't show the incoming or outgoing calls in the call log list....how can I fix this?

Check and see what your "Phone List View" is set to. To find that go into your Call Log, hit the menu button, choose Options. If it's not set to Call Log change it to that and try making a call

  • [E72 - All FW] Wrong Icon on Call Log!

Hi, I've a Nokia E72 No-brand and I had a nokia E51 and both of these two phone seems to suffer of the same issue: the icon of the calls in call log, whatever is the type of the phone that I want to call or that has called me, is always the same: that one of the mobile phone! And this is very annoying because when there are contacts with more than one number type, it's impossible (or quite complicated and frustrating) to identify the correct number to call or that has called me (if I check the missed calls or recent calls in Call Log).
Besides I see that this bug was corrected with the latest firmware in other phones with Symbian S60 5th edition and my question is: why don't fix this very annoying bug also in devices with Symbian S60 3rd edition (like Nokia E72)?
I hope that Nokia can read this thread and fix this (very long standing) bug!

These are some links I found about this problem, searching "icon call log symbian" on Google:

  • 8900 curve loud speaker comes on when for 3 seconds when i answer a call?!?!

8900 curve loud speaker comes on when for 3 seconds when i answer a call,
i use the green answer key to answer.
is this something in the settings that is wrong?

I had exactly the same problem when I first received my phone. I was using an old sim card (non 3G) which I had been using for over 3 years. To solve the issue I got a new 3G sim from the network which resolved the problem.

  • Call Log Problems and Questions

I've owned this phone since late June, 2011 and overall like it.  I came from a BB with "real" keys, but have been pleased with eth learning curve for the swype keyboard (except it's insistence on some nonsense words).
The real issue I'm facing: The Call Log
First off, it's painfully slow when compared to my old BB.  If I want to call a recent contact I click over to the log, but have to first WAIT for the phone app to start, and then WAIT for the log to come up, then painfully WAIT to scroll, and then WAIT for that call to load the WAIT to FINALLY get a "Call" button.  Why in the world is this fairly "native" app so frikkin slow.  This is, after all, a phone.
Second: Why is the call log not threaded?  I haven’t had an unthreaded call log in about 10 years.  My wife calls a lot, but I should have 15 line items of her before the next distinct caller.  When will this be fixed?  Seems a major flaw
Third, why can't I choose which phone screen comes up first when i click "Phone" from the immovable home screen buttons?  How often are users dialing numbers that are A-not in their call log or B-not a contact?  Speaking of Contacts:
Fourth: Why is the contact search SO slow?  I typed my last name in (so it should be finding only my family - maybe 10 contacts) and it took 8 seconds.  Again, comparing to the BB, which had a list ready (from the exact same list of contacts) with every keystroke.
So, four problems.  May I please have four answers?
Now one for which I can foresee the answer:
How can I get rid of all the bloatware on the phone?  I don’t want:
    AllShare
    Amazon Kindle
    V Apps
    Backup asst.
    Bitbop
    Blockbuster
    Guided Tour
    IM
    Latitude
    Lets Golf
    Media Hub
    Rhapsody
    Navigation
    Places
    Rock Band
    Slacker
    Tune Wiki
    VCast
    VZ Navigator
Nice job filling my new $300 phone with $0.02 crap

I cannot answer your questions with what I consider an effective answer.  With that said are you aware that you can create groups in your contact list.  The is easiest done on the computer from the Google Voice app.  I have a group for my family, wife's family, coworkers, friends, doctors, restaurants, etc.  It is much easier to find someone in a small group.  I also have direct dial shortcuts on one of my home screens.  I have one home screen dedicated to direct dial shortcuts.  For those that I call all the time like my wife and home you touch the icon and it dials immediately.  To do this long tap an open space on a home screen, click on shortcut, click on direct dial or direct message for quick texting.  You can also have a direct shortcut to the actual contact if you frequently need to access the contact information.
I hope this at least helps you enjoy the phone a little better if you were not aware of these features.  And yes, I wish the bloatware would go away.
BTW the 4 buttons at the bottom (not the hard buttons) are movable.  You have to long press them to change them out.

  • Random resets, erased call logs, and faulty bb messenger

Apologies in advance if this has been discussed, but after a quick search, I couldn't find anything.
Prior to getting a 4GB memory card, I had a problem where people would ping me on BB messenger and I'd get the smiley icon.  After checking the chat log, it only shows the last message sent, rather than the new message, leaving the smiley face icon still active.
In addition to this, my curve wouldn't save my call logs and would automatically delete some text messages.  I linked this problem to insufficient on-phone memory and get a new card, to which it was solved with the occasional bugs.
Lately, my phone's been randomly resetting, deleting the texts and call logs, and gave me the BB messenger issue again.  It's frustrating doing the hard reset (taking battery out) as a quick fix, and rather, I'd like to figure out the source of the problem and remedy that.
Does anyone know what's going on?
On a side note, my memory card doesn't snugly fit in the slot.  My latch, for some reason, doesn't close tightly and is not completely aligned with the track.  I figure the battery pushes the card in tight enough to not bring up issues, and I confirm that I've never had issues accessing my music or pictures stored on the memory card.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

    Hi.
You have 64 mb of total memory on your device. You sent that you have 5mb free.
15 mb free would be considered a minimum.
Most people close the applications by pressing the escape or red key. This does not close the applications.
Each application has a close option. For instance if you are in the calendar hit the menu key (spotted key) and scroll down to the bottom close is listed.
When done using the browser, press menu and options, select cache operations,
clear all categories and hit escape it will clean the browser cache.
Use the attached links to manage your memory efficiently.
