8900 Curve Diary sync issue

All has been fine syncing my device since first delivery. Updated the device software as suggested last week and now my diary refuses to fully sync, it seems to only recognise annual events ie birthdays etc. Tasks, memo, contacts all OK. I have checked sync settings and reinstalled desktop manager v4.7 with no joy. Any clues as to whats going on ?

If I'm understanding, I think I'm having the same problem. I have a Curve 8330 - I'm synching to Outlook 2007. It's been working fine and then all of a sudden, I started having problems. I can read from the device, but after it reads from Outlook, it says Device Manager has encountered a problem and it shuts down.
I have rebooted computer; taken the batter out of the Curve and then put it back, took off the check from calendar (it worked then) and then put it back on.

    I purchased this phone for my girlfriend. She loves the phone, but when she tries to install the sync software it almost finishes installing then it giver her an error 1305. Then it begins to go backwards looking for a file. She left it for hours and it never found anything. She was referred to getting the 4.6 software, but it wont let her install it.   • 8900 Sync issue

    I'm a new Blackberry user, trying to get my initial setup going with the 8900 Curve. Having loaded the desktop software, I'm getting an error message "Unknown Error Reported" from intellisync when I configure synchronization.  Background info: Currently running Windows XP with all virus software off.  I use Hotmail as my main email.  I have heard of the sync issues with Hotmail so I downloaded the Outlook Connector and, using MS Outlook 2003 on my desktop, I can see all of my hotmail mail showing up on the desktop.  Is there something I need to change on the handheld device to interface with the computer and allow syncing?  Is there a setting I need to change in MS Outlook on my desktop?  I have been receiving email on my handheld device using my initial hotmail email without any difficulty.  
    Any help greatly appreciated (and sorry for my Blackberry ignorance - as I said, I'm new to the process...)

    Could mean that the calendar database on the BlackBerry is corrupt. Are the entries in Outlook more up to data than the ones on the BlackBerry? If so you could try clearing the BlackBerry database, then syncing again. To clear the database on the BlackBerry, go into Backup and Restore | Advanced. On the right hand side you'll see the BlackBerry's databases. So you can select the calendar, then hit the Clear button. That will remove all the entries from the BlackBerry calendar. Afterwards try synching.

  • Sync Issue with Handmark Pocket Express

    I have a newly purchased Treo 755p for Sprint preloaded with Handmark Pocket Express.  This seems to be a handy application; however, it is causing an annoying sync issue.  At each sync session, Express goes through all of its subjects syncing between handheld and PC.  I am not sure if it was already in my pc Palm Desktop software or it loaded from the Treo the first time I sync'd.  I have unchecked from the conduit setup on the Treo anything I can identify with Express but it still synchs and this take time.  I have no interest with it on the PC but do like it on the Treo.  I only want to continue to sync the calendar, contacts, memos, and tasks.  I like the Express on the Treo but as a last resort, would consider removing it from the Treo if that was the only option.  Would appreciate any help to stop the synch problem with Express.  If no solution, would appreciate guidance to remove the ap from the Treo.  I have a MAC with OS X 10.4, Palm Desktop v4.2.2, and Express v4.25.235.

    Having similar problem.  PocketMac kept duplicating some, but not all, contacts.  I deleted all of them on the Curve, make a group in my Address Book called "Blackberry Friends" and synced to that only.  Worked great -- until I ran the sync again.  Now, I again have dulicates of some, but not all, contacts.  Seems like the same contacts get duplicated each time, but can't be absolutely positive.
    In addition, in some cases, PocketMac deletes info from my Address Book.  Like home addresses, etc.  Also, it does not always sync all info that is in Address Book.  For instance, I have birthdays for most of my contacts.  Pocket Mac witll synd some of them, but not all.  I have used "two-way syncing" and "overwrite device" -- same results.
    Running 10.5.6, have deleted and reinstalled the PocketMac software (helped some) but still issues.  Anybody got any help?

    hello, i was hoping to find a solution on how to access my home security cameras on my 8900 curve ; was told it was possible but the attet tech didnt know how exactly ! is there a way to download my software and view my home cameras on my curve ?

    You will need to do one (or more) of several things:
    1) Find out if the maker of your cameras has an app for your BB. Do whatever they say to do to make it work.
    2) Create a compatible web page from your cameras that you can then view using your BB web browser. Compatible media streams can be found in this KB:

    I think this has been done before -- do a wide search on this forum and see if you can find the answers that others have found in the past.

  • Desktop Manager refuses to recognise 8900 Curve.

    This has been an ongoing problem for a while, the Desktop Manager refuses point blank to recognise the 8900 Curve when it's connected to the PC by USB, Bluetooth isn't an option with the PC. It did recognise the device initially but just stopped. I have tried removing and reinstalling the software, from the CD and the latest version from the net with/without the PC's security software active, rebooting the PC and the Blackberry before connecting, all Blackberry/RIM features are checked as safe in every part of the security software. In short I have tried everything that has been suggested on every forum I can find.
    The USB connection is not the problem, it charges the device and it functions in mass storage mode but nothing else. On the Desktop Manager at the bottom LHS, Device Connected (PIN): None and nothing I have tried changes that.
    Any suggestions for overcoming this extrememly exasperating problem would be greatly appreciated. It's my wife's phone and she is desperate to get some music onto it but unless I can get the software and phone to speak to each other that's not going to happen! She got the Blackberry because of it's features and at the moment the majority of them are useless because it doesn't connect with the PC.

    First ---   8900 <> Storm. Storm = 9500 or 9530. 8900 = Curve.   So, which device is it that we're talking about?

  • Blackberry world sync issues

    My Curve 8520 is failing to sync apps from app world using compter phone connect; it is just returning, sync issue message on the computer and I had to wipe it to help correct only to end up with no app on my phone and an internet connection that is failing to download more than 1MB of any app.
    Again, blackberry protect has been disabled and now can't restore my phone to its backup data.
    Please help, what could be the problem and how do I correct it? Thanks

    My experience has been that the more end points you are trying to sync with an Exchange mailbox, the greater the likelihood of sync issues.  So my opinion is you would experience the same issue is you had say, an iPhone and an iPad, or two iPads.....

    I have been using bb 8900 curve about  2 years now but since 3 months i have been encountring problem of white screen, whenever i talk long or listen to music for long or bb appworld my screen witll go white and if i remove my battery without giving usb power it will still be white but if i give usb power it will start of, what should i do i have tried reinstalling os but no success so far...can anybody help me

    Back up your BlackBerry data and do what is called a clean software reload.
    KB11320 will show you how to do this software reload. Before you restore any data, use the device to try and replicate the white screen.
    It is recommended to restore selected data after doing this type of software reload. You can follow KB23680 to do an advanced restore and restore the essential databases, such as Contacts, Calendar, Memos, Emails etc.

  • Severe 8900 curve problems...

    I purchased a 8900 curve off amazon and it was working fine for two months. Yesterday however, i had problems while entering my password to unlock the keypad. Although i entered the right password it repeatedly denied me access. I became fed up and removed the battery, hoping that this would solve my problems. When i put the battery back in nothing seemed to work anymore, and the only thing happening till now is the light flashing red in a certain sequence. I'm completely baffled about what to do so i would really appreciate some help.

  • BB 8520 Curve Wireless Sync of Calendar and Contact not working

    OS: 5.0.0.681
    Network: Mobilink - Pakistan
    Can any one help me out, how I can get wireless sync working on my BlackBerry.
    I have two emails accounts setup 1. [email protected] and 2. [email protected]  where mydomain.com email is also hosted on gmail. I receive emails on both account and able to send as well.
    None of these account contact and calendar are being sync. Previously when GoogleSync app was available I was using that, since Google has discontinued this app, so I have removed the app.
    In calendar on device, I can see both the calendars and Wireless Synchronization: YES, but no update in either side i.e. If I create any entry on mobile it doesn't show on web or any new entry on web, doesn't show on device.
    Very Important: If I access setup on device I don't see Contacts and Calendar under syncronization, however both options are visible if I use https://mobilink.blackberry.com/ to setup/edit email. 
    Looking forward your expert advise to solve this issue.

    It sounds like there may be an issue with the device software or hardware. I would suggest getting access to a PC with your USB cable and device then attempt to reload the device software.
    Try these steps first.
    If you have issues getting the reload to begin, connect the device, go to C:\Program Files\Common Files\Research In Motion\AppLoader and click on Loader.exe. (Make sure you have the latest device software downloaded and installed on the PC) Press next on the first wizard screen until it takes you to the connection screen. Next, pop the battery out of the device and reinsert it. If it comes up with the PIN or PIN unknown click next and try to proceed through the application load.
    If it still fails to reload the device software you may need to contact your point of sale for replacement options.

  • Curve 8310 sync and message problem

    I am hoping someone can help--I must have set something up wrong--my curve stopped syncing with my outlook; after taking to at&t and cheking device they said to reinstall desktop program. Program was shutting down after getting halfway thru calendar entries. I reinstalled several times. Now my desktop and handheld are being overwhlemed every few minutes with emails from [email protected] that say not to delete or move--the handheld seems to be functioning otherwise, but I still can't sync and I can barely find what I need among all this garbage--can anyone help me??? Thanks so much!

    If you are running oulook 2003 or above I would recommens loading Desktop software 4.5 (latest) and getting the BB USB drivers. I will provide you with the links, in just a second.

    I had exactly the same problem when I first received my phone. I was using an old sim card (non 3G) which I had been using for over 3 years. To solve the issue I got a new 3G sim from the network which resolved the problem.

  • More Aperture/iPad syncing issues

    Each time I create a new project or album in Aperture, I have trouble getting the images to the iPad when I sync. I sometimes need to sync several times until the images are recognized and imported to iPad. I do have the albums designated manually, rather than all, which means I have to sync and then sync again after I check the checkbox for the new album. I understand that, but sometimes I have to go back into Aperture to make sure the previews are updated. If I choose to update the previews for a project, Aperture will usually tell me that they're already up to date, but often they will not show up on the iPad, even after I check the appropriate box for the album in iTunes. Sometimes I get good results if I delete the previews and regenerate them in Aperture.
    The second problem is the sort order. Even if I have "sort by filename" selected in Aperture, they do not show up in this order on the iPad--despite what the support article says about this. They appear to only show up in Date order. I've tried repeatedly resetting the sort order, but it does not change on the iPad. Sometimes I have to delete the album from the iPad, (uncheck the album in iTunes and sync again), then recheck it and sync yet another time. This does not always work, however.
    It is very frustrating. The interface between Aperture and the iPad is very wonky. I often have to sync repeatedly, just to get the photos on the iPad and even then they're usually in the wrong order.
    Aperture appears to have two types of previews: "previews" and "sharing previews," but "sharing previews" don't seem to appear in the documentation. I've noticed that, even when Aperture says the previews are up to date, when I exit the program, it will sometimes (but, maddeningly, not always), give the message, "updating sharing previews" before quitting. I cannot figure out how to force this, however. Sometimes opening and closing Aperture several times will cause it to do this, but I can't be sure.
    iTunes seems to have its own process in which it "optimizes" images for importing to the iPad. Like Aperture's mysterious "sharing previews," "optimizing" does not show up in the iTunes documentation or help files.
    This process either needs to be improved, or at least documented so users can understand how to avoid these problems.

    1. Some people have reported slow syncing with anything but the iPad's own USB cable (e.g. using a US cable from an iPhone/iPod). Try different cables
    2. More work - disable iTunes syncing completely, then re-enable a bit at a time, e.g. one movie at a time, one playlist at a time, one photo album at a time. There are periodic reports of syncing issues caused by a bit of media that's been corrupted, and this (tedious) approach allows you to identify where the problem might be.
    3. If that fails, do a clean restore back to factory settings, then progressively re-enable syncing as above.
