8900 HELP!

I was recently told by a BBM buddy that I was not available on BBM and wasn't receiving msg's. I didn't know what to do, so I shut the phone off and when I put it back on, I had a bunch of email msg's and missed BBM msg's. Has anyone encountered this problem? Nor really sure if it was a 1 time thing or maybe I have a defective phone.  I am running OS   .114 for Tmobile.   I tried to update it to .133, but the app manager said no current updates.  Not sure if I need the OS update or not...
Please Help.

Hi and welcome to the forums!
I would run the mobile network diagnostic check if you find you aren't receiving messages.
Options, mobile network, menu key, run diagnostics. You can save the report on the device.
You can also email the report for diagnostic purposes. I wouldn't get a new device just yet, or
do an upgrade. Troubleshoot one problem without adding any variables.
Make sense?
Thanks,

  • Broken Speaker on 8900 HELP!!

I just bought by 8900 from a t-mobile retailer. Unfortunally I, by accident, dropped my phone on my bowl of cereal and it became submerged in MILK!!!..... anyways.. everything works fine on the phone no damage on the lcd.. all keys work... except my speaker.. I can make calls but i cannot hear the other person. I'm currently using my bluetooth headset to make calls...
I took the phone to tmobile unfortunally warranty is void due to "water" damage.. (or milk too) So given that I can repair the phone myself I have looked online and am trying to find a new speaker for my phone. Does anyone know where i can get one?
or at least lead me to a broken blackberry that i can use for spare parts... thanks in advance

I can't turn off the BB...
Sorry for my bad english, could someone tell me what it happens?
    A lot of thanks,

"Infinite bucle" -- did you mean infinite cycle of rebooting? If so, then you have some work ahead of you -- and I hope you already have a good backup...

  • Help 8900 help

my blackberry curve 8900 just shut down on me so i took the battery out and put it back in then the red light came on but nothing else has < i even tried pressing the red on off button but still nothing aaprt from the red light flashing please please can anyone help me

Explain how you are connecting.  I am on Win7 x64 and am having no issues with several phones.  It is recommended that you use a USB port directly connected to a USB header off the motherboard not an expansion port from say a PCI card or another example is from a memory card reader (many have extra USB and eSATA ports).
Have you turned up the setting sin Win7 so it is not shutting down USB ports to save energy?  Go to:
    Start>> Control Panel>>Power Options
    Then choose high performance.
When using this profile everything will stay at full power.  Under other profiles by default, your PC via the OS will shut things down to conserve power.

  • ATT 8900 help! please - can't even open texting

Last night I tried to text my mother that I was home and it kept acting like it was sending but it wouldnt, so i took out battery to try and give it a fresh start, but when it reopened it said: "Uncaught exception: Java.Lamg.NullPointerException" with a button to press OK, so I did and now I cant even open the SMS/MMS subsection, I tried hitting the button and looking for it but it is almost as if it was deleted off my phone because I cant even find the icon to press it. please help, I can't live without texting! haha

I  would try one more simple reboot:  With the BlackBerry device powered ON, remove the battery a few seconds and then reinsert the battery to reboot.
If still nothing, do this: On your device, go to your Messages folder > press the Menu key > Options > scroll down to Email and SMS Inboxes > and make that choice = Combined.
Now, look in your main Messages folder to see if you see your SMS messages.

  • Help me fix my 8900 PLEASE! Desperate now

    Hi
A month ago, I was using my phone - had like a 20-30 minutes call, it was quite hot, so I was a little sweaty through the call (relevance will come later).
Anyway, 5-10 minutes after call, my keypad stopped functioning completely. Read around, they said it is most likely a moisture issue.
So now, I gave it in to a mobile repair centre - after holding it for 1 month - they said they couldn't fix it...
What can I do to have it fixed!? Would maybe reformatting help (if anyone has a method of reformatting phone via Desktop manager - I would appreciate it). I am not worried about cost :/.
    Thank you ;(.

Reformatting and software won't do squat for a hardware/moisture problem.
You are probably about a month late to post here, if done in time, moistures issues are very easily overcome.
HOWEVER, the salts in your sweat are the problem here. Salty moisture will dry and leave minerals deposited on the inner workings of the keyboard and those mineral deposits can short the keys out.
Nevertheless... you can try/attempt to dry out your keyboard, remove the battery and LEAVE the device open in a bag/box of dry rice for five days. Do NOT replace the battery each day to check it. Electricity and moisture do not mix well...
    http://www.blackberryfaq.com/index.php/Got_Your_BlackBerry_Wet%3F
All that said... if cost and money is not a problem, get a new 8900. I have a feeling you've fried this one by waiting too long.
And, get a Best Skins Ever for full protection of your device.

  • Problem with 8900 Browser connecting... need help

I have a who has a 8900 and is using digicel jamaica for service.
She is able to make and receive calls.  She can receive emails but unable to get her blackberry browser to connect.  This service was working fine until this past friday.  Now she did mention someone else's email is on the phone but customer service could not remove that person until they called.  Not sure I understand that part.  We have tried the following:
    1.  Battery pull
    2.  Checked APN settings and tried:
    APN:web.digiceljamaica.com
    Username: blank
    Password: blank
    and..
    APN: web.digiceljamaica.com
    User: wapuser
    Password: wap03jam
    3.  She is not sure if they recently sent any new service books.
    4.  She spoke to her customer service and stated her account is properly provisioned.
    5.  Her wifi is on but she is not connected to any local network.
    6.  We checked her browser version and she has 4.6.1.250.
At this point, I am stuck.  Any insight or ideas that I can try?  She gets unable to connect when she tries to use her blackberry browser.

Unfortunately, if you have not enough knowledge about using Flash, and do not want to pay to have this done for you, the folks who did this for you are likely going to be the only ones who can help you resolve it.  They should be able to provide the edited fla and the new swf if they are in any way a credible/reliable business.... which at this point sounds like they are not.

  • Hi please help me for my blackberry 8900

hi please help me for my blackberry 8900 reload software. i make a password but stil not working now the screen is all white and the writen only is reload software 513....please help me

    Hi bheth_16,
Welcome to BlackBerry Support Community Forums.
Try backing up your device via the BlackBerry Desktop Software and performing a clean reload of your device software. http://bbry.lv/bpv7DT
If the Desktop Software is unable to connect to your BlackBerry, try the following:
    1. Verify that the BlackBerry Desktop Manager and BlackBerry Device Software are installed on the computer.
    2. Remove the battery from the BlackBerry. Do not re-insert.
    3. Connect the BlackBerry to the computer.
    4. On the BlackBerry Desktop Manager main screen, click Application Loader.
    5. Click Start.
    6. Click Options to add or remove applications.
    7. Click Next.
    8. Click Next.
    9. Click Finish.
    10. When the application load starts, insert the battery into the BlackBerry smartphone.
This will remove all personal data from your BlackBerry. To restore your data you will need a previously taken backup file.

  • Help!!! Where can I insert IP address , Port, Homepage on my 8900???

I cannot find where to tap in internet settings on my 8900, all I have been able to add is the APN, but no IP address, no Port, no Homepage, can somebody help me please, the  user manual does not give any indications on this topic and so I have not been able to use my Virgin UK Internet service at all (Virgin UK have provided me with settings to insert myself manually since  they don't support Blackberrys, the phone won't even connect to my Wi-Fi it says there is no data plan active so I can't even add any applications to the phone?? I'm stuck, I never imagined connecting to the Internet with a Blackberry could have been so difficult. Thnx for all help
    Solved!
    Go to Solution.

BlackBerry device is designed to work in that complex fashion. It is also done for security reasons. All the settings are hard coded and no one can brake those codes. The device can only communicate when the BlackBerry APN is available for it and that is achieved by having BlackBerry data plan enabled.

  • Help Blackberry 8900 issues

Hi i have a Blackberry 8900 from Orange in the UK.
The device is running version 5 software. The phone is constantly crashing blank white screen when i am browsing the net or even sometimes when i try to make a call. Other times it just crashes for no reason and i have to pull the battery to restart it. Sometimes on restart the blank white screen is still there and have to reset phone again by pulling the battery. I have been onto Orange for the past 2 weeks now and they have sent me 4 different phones, yes 4 different phones and also a new sim card the other day but every phone i have recived is doing the exact same thing. I am also having problems making phone calls from device. When the handsets do let me make a call i get lots of crackling and intereference. Orange cannot send me a different model of phone as it is a business phone paid for by my work.
I also tried reloading the software on 1 device they sent but i had no luck doing it and kept getting JVM error as i was reloading the software.
I am at my witts end now can anyone help??

    Ok.
I'll post something you might try for the Media Card below.
Meanwhile, you should consider upgrading the OS on the device to latest official release of the operating system for the 8900.... 5.0.0.822
Device operating system releases are "released" by specific carriers once they have certified and trained their support techs, but still, you are able to load to any carrier's same model by following the instructions below.
See the link below, for the download and simple installation instructions.
    https://www.blackberry.com/Downloads/entry.do?code=06997F04A7DB92466A2BAA6EBC8B872D
Do a backup of your device first, using Desktop Manager > Backup. Close Desktop Manager upon completion.
    1. Download the OS file to the PC then install it to the PC by running (double clicking) the file you downloaded.
    2. Go to c:\program files\common files\research in motion\apploader and delete the file named "vendor.xml."
    3. Plug in BB and double click on "Loader.exe." It's located in the same place as the above vendor.xml file.
Read this on how fix the Media Card (courtesy of John Clark, another expert here in the Forum):
    1. Removed the Media Card from the device and put in a card reader. This makes the rest of the process much quicker. However, you can do it with the card in the device.
    2. Copy the entire contents of the card to your PC.
    3. Put the card back in the device and go to Options >Media Card >Menu key >Format Card. This will wipe the card and reformat it. (if using a card reader remove the card and put it back in the reader.)
    4. Now copy back JUST the media to the device. Do NOT copy back any "BBthumbs.dat" files or any system files. I went through the entire folder and deleted every .dat file before copying the contents of the music folder and pictures folders back to the device. The device will recreate these files. Also, I didn't copy the actual "music" folder but rather just copied the contents and pasted in the card's \Blackberry\music folder. Do this for each folder.
    5. When finished put the card back in the device and try the Media App again. It should scan for music. If you have lots of music it can take 5-10 minutes. During scanning you can open the Music app and you should be able to see the songs moving around in the list as the device scans
If after transferring all your files back you still get a stuck scanning bar or device reboots then you have a conflicting file on the card. I've seen video files do this but it could be a music file too or (less likely) a picture file. Remove all the files you transferred and see if the reboots stop. Then add back each folder one at a time to see if you can narrow down to the folder that's causing it. Once you find the folder then you can narrow down to a particular file.

    Solved!

Before you do anything else:  Do a simple reboot on the BlackBerry in this manner: With the BlackBerry device POWERED ON, remove the battery for a minute, and then reinsert the battery to reboot. A reboot in this manner is prescribed for most glitches and operating system errors, and you will lose no data on the device doing this.
Please let us know if that reboots the device properly or not.

  • HELP: I downloaded upgrade for App World to BB 8900 and now the App World icon is gone!!

    Hi
I downloaded BB App World 1.1.0.33 for my Javelin 8900 yesterday and just realized today that my App World icon is gone/ hidden!
I hav searched all folders and it is not there.
When I checked my applications in options it is very much there as being fully installed!
How do I 'unhide' or find App World please??
    Solved!

    jmrmb80 wrote:
Is it hidden on the home screen? Did you check if it was hidden in either the Downloads or Applications folder?
No it is not hidden on the home screen as i set it to show all. It wasnt located in the downloads folder either. I had mentioned earlier that when I checked on the list of Applications installed it was listed there as being installed on the system.
My solution was to delete the installment from the Applications list, reboot the device then re-install it once more (I did this twice btw). When I did that the second time I checked the downloads folder and it was finally there! I hope this helps @ rcorai.
Though I had pretty much preferred if I could have located the previous app rather than delete n re-installing it!
