890GXM-G65 working with 1,6v RAM - Is that ok?

Hello, folks. I built my first rig last year, with the 890GXM-G65, and I am considering a few updates, which made me realize that I made a mistake  . Now that I am more aware of things in a rig, I saw that my mainboard requires 1,5v RAM, but I have 2 x 2GB Corsair DDR3 1.333MHz TW3X4G1333C9 G (1,6v). I read somewhere that using memory with voltage higher than the mainboard can compromise or even burn the processor. Is that right? Is the 1,6v RAM putting my processor or the mainboard at risk?
I will replace the RAM for 4 x 4GB Corsair Vengeance DDR3 CMZ16GX3M4A1600C9 (1,5v), but I don’t know if I can wait a little bit or if I should replace the RAM as soon as possible. All in all, my computer is working fine since day one, but I don't know if the mistake with the RAM is lowering its performance. Or maybe I was expecting too much of my Phenon II 1090T
Here is my rig:
- Windows XP (Win7 is driving me nuts)
- 890GXM-G65 (no OC whatsoever)
- 2 x 2GB Corsair DDR3 1.333MHz TW3X4G1333C9 G
- Phenom II 1090T
- Sapphire HD 6870
- HD (OS) Seagate Barracuda 320GB
I appreciate any comments,

I your Bios, if you look in the Cell Menu, there are available adjustments for memory. You can run 'Auto' or set specs to match your Memory specs, or Overclock. Although the manual States 1.5v, it is the Auto basics and can support 1.5v sticks. I looked at MSI under 'Test Report' and your current Corsair memory is on the tested list, as OK to use. If you memory specs ask for a different voltage value, you can manually set the voltage in your Bios under DRAM Voltage(V). Never adjust into the RED values. Setting to the suggested voltages for your sticks is proper, any other choice is Overclocking, or Underclocking. You can also set the timing and 1T/2T. Again this information is available at Corsair for your memory sticks. Do not think that MSI tested and qualified memory sticks are to be set at 1.5v, if the sticks call for a different voltage. At Corsair it shows TW3X4G1333C9G stick as 1.5v (you say 1.6v) and timing of 9-9-9-24. Double check at corsair to verify the values. That said if they are infact 1.6v memory sticks, then set the DRAM voltage to 1.6v. I do not see the Corsair Vengeance DDR3 CMZ16GX3M4A1600C9 sticks at MSI test list as tested. That doesn't mean you can't use them.. just not on the tested list. You can verify that at Corsair.
Good Luck

    How did you buy iPhoto? Did it come preinstalled on your computer with Lion or later, or did it come with Snowleopard on system installer disks?
    Which version of iPhoto?
    If you have a version of iPhoto '11 and it is showing on the Purchased tab of the App Store, with your Apple ID, then delete iPhoto from the Applications folder  (don't empty the Trash) and download iPhoto again from the Purchased tab.
    If that does not work, contact The App Store Support  from the Quick Links on the AppStore main page.

  • Tired of working with Verizon on a phone that does not work. FASCINATE.

    Since I got my fascinate a six months ago I have had nothing but problems.. At this point in time, I don't get phone calls and can't make phone calls, I don't get text messages either at all or not for hours later and the ones I send people are not getting for hours and hours later, and when I send a text it keeps coming back not sent. And it drops my calls when I can get it to work.  So Verizon's solution is to replace this phone now twice and send me an extender box free..(By the way my phone doesn't work anywhere it is not just an at home issue) ..So I am sitting right next to this powerful extender box which cost $250.00 if you were to buy it and I am not getting a phone call, text message and can't make a call or send a text message..Box working real good.
    I don't know I am paying $175.00 a month for three phones and I can't use mine at all.
    If VERIZON don't get it fixed this week...I'M DONE.. Being jerked around with "Oh lets do this reset or that one and lets send you another phone. I have not had service for 6 months but I have been paying my bill for the last 6 months..
    So anyone else have these issues?  And if you did and got an new phone (droid incredible 2 or charge) which one worked better for you?  Thanks..

    Like I said SHAME on Verizon for not stepping up and doing the right thing by the people.
    Should we expect any different from Verizon, just look at they way the are treating their employees.
    The reluctance to make it right for fascinate owners and their refusal to negotiate with their employees are both examples of pure corporate greed.
    I have to chime in on corporate greed.  The wireless side of Verizon has laid off a few thousand people recently.  I wonder if the CEO or  board of directors took any pay cut?
    I don't blame the lower folks for poor service, it all starts at the top and trickles down.
    And yes VZW should offer to make things right with each Fascinate owner, but that will not happen.

  • What cover with a keyboard will work with the i Pad 2 that is the thinner one?

    The cover with the keyboard at the Apple store would not work with this iPad. the Air is thinner and wouldn't click in and activate the keyboard. Do you know of a cover--or when one will come out that does work?

    Hello, no ice.
    Thank you for visiting Apple Support Communities.
    As long as you purchase the GSM model and acquire a Nano-SIM card, you should be able to use your iPad abroad.  Here is some information about this process that you may find helpful.

  • How can i get a superdrive to work with a late 2008 macbook that already had one inside but taken out for upgrading.

    I bought a superdrive thinking it would work with my macbook. i took the built in one in for a second hhd. Please help!!!!

    Did you know ahead of time, that certain models of Mac cannot use the new Apple USB SuperDrive?
    Usually those are ones that had an internal superdrive, as there is a firmware block or other device
    that generally does not allow the external USB Superdrive from Apple to work with older Macs...
    This includes iMacs or others with the built-in optical drive, MacBook/Pro of certain vintage, etc.
    Since the use of the optical drive space inside the case has been used for second hard drive or
    solid state drive, the need for a superdrive does not diminish once its no longer in there...
    The topic of trying to make the Apple USB Superdrive to work has been mentioned online, incl here:
    https://www.ifixit.com/Device/Apple_Optical_Drive
    There is mention of a way to attempt to use command line, to make the 'Apple USB superdrive' work
    with older Macs that otherwise won't allow it. Be aware this may affect the warranty, it also may affect
    the returns policy if it does not work out, once you mess with the firmware or command-line entries.
    So that is one of the ifixit items in the link above. You should be able to find a fair deal on a different
    brand of USB optical drive that does much the same thing as the Apple, and without extra drivers.
    If you get some other brand, test & check it to be able to perform as needed (like a Superdrive) and
    note the returns policy on this kind of product before you buy it, just in case it does not function.
    Good luck & happy computing!

  • Working with JTextArea and things like that

    I don't know if this is the right subforum for this.. if not, feel free to move it over to another subforum
    Now i have this exercise.
    I made a file for it , a list.data file. If i run the program, it gives the info in the list.data file in a whole new box.
    So this is in the data file for example:
    Toyota
    Hilux
    Volkswagen
    Rabbit
    Jeep
    Wrangler
    Than if i run the program, it opens a new window and then there is in it:
    Toyota
    Hilux
    Volkswagen
    Rabbit
    Jeep
    Wrangler
    Now the assingment is to create a new car class with the relevant instance variables (just to store the property values i assume). And thereby i have to create relevant methods to access the instance variables. I also have to create a constructor that accepts initial values for the car instance variables.
    The given program is working with two classes. Those are given, i don't need to understand their internal details, says the exercise
    This is a whole new part of Java for me. Can someone give me an example or a hint or something like that?
    Can i just make a new class with in it the car information
    so like:
    import java.util.*;
    public class CarInformation {
        String[] brand = new String[5];
        String[] type  = new String[5];
        public void brands(){
            brand[0]   = "Toyota";
            brand[1]   = "Volkswagen";
            brand[2]   = "Jeep";
        public void types(){
            type[0]    = "Hilux";
            type[1]    = "Rabbit";
            type[2]    = "Wrangler";
        public CarInformation() {
    }If this is right, how can i make the bigger program to read from my new CarInformation class? I think i'm in the dark..

    If i buy a Unlocked iphone 4s and use it in another country, will it work with the countrys Local data Services

    hi guys,
    i recently bought a new iphone 4s factory unlocked. in order to avoid sim failures and invalid sim errors or No service errors, Each phone has to be unlocked by connecting it to the Itunes.
    Kindly follow the below steps to avoid any SIM card conflicts
    iPhone FULL Unlock - How it Works:
    -Connect your iphone to itunes without any network sim inside and when connected click on the iphones name.
    - Click Restore install latest version of iTunes on your Pc or Mac or click check for updates
    - Let itunes Backup your phone and then Flash to the Latest Version.
    - Now disconnect phone and reconnect after 10 seconds.
    - Now Enter another network simcard that's not the same network its locked on to
    - Connect phone to iTunes with not accepted (not valid) simcard
    - Wait until iTunes detects the phone
    - iTunes will display (Congratulations, Your iPhone is now unlocked)
    - Phone Unlocked
    - just follow the instructions about activating the Iphone.
    and iphone is unlocked
    NOTE : This is the only FULL LIFE TIME UNLOCK solution for Apple iPhone as the IMEI is registered as UNLOCKED in Apple database.
    This solution should be used ONLY THOSE WHO BOUGHT FACTORY UNLOCKED iPHONE 4S.
    Your phone will always be unlocked even after each new update of your phone firmware !
    All reasons given like bad IMEI series, manufacturing defects etc blah blah are not logical as everything was tested before every sale.

  • Macbook (White 2010) works with 5GB of RAM but not 8GB

    I bought 2 x 4gb modules the other day. I tried to install them both on my macbook which although supposedly supports 4 gb of ram but others have proven it will support up to 8gb. I installed them then booted up my Mac but it would not start it merely kept beeping.
    However when i used one of the modules with one of the previous modules i.e 5gb in total, my computer turned on and is working. Why don't both of the modules work together? How come I am unable to get 8gb of RAM but I am able to get 5gb? Both modules work when i use them with a 1gb module, but they don't work together. Any Advice?

    Yeah the 4gb is being recognised, my mac is running off the 5 gb in total. True, but i've seen videos where people have the exact same mac as me and have 8gb RAM. But yeah thanks for your help guys

  • Gaming 3 motherboard not working with dual channel ram

    Hello,
    Whenever I try to put the RAM in dual channel (slots 1/3 or 2/4) in the motherboard Gaming 3 (z97), the motherboard stops working, and starts a loop of getting power for two seconds, and turning off again.. untill I kill the mains.
    This doesn't happen when the Ram is in single channel (slots 1 and 2)
    The ram is Corsair Value select 4 GB x2
    My specs are:
    Intel i5-4690k
    Nvidia Gtx 750 Ti
    MSI Gaming 3 motherboard
    Corsair Value select 4 GB x 2
    Samsung Evo 128 GB SSD
    The bios version is 2.3
    Any help would be great. Is it a motherboard specific problem? Or voltage issues?

    Hi,
    can you refer to manual and check which DIMM slots are default? As far as I know, they're 1 and 3.
    Test each RAM stick individually, by going from DIMM #1 until #4. Working fine? Test the other same way. Also look around CPU socket and RAM slots for any scratches or other unusual stand offs. Also try to lower RAM down to 1333 and try again.

    Does it have DTS option in Realtek manager and also mention your operating system.
    I'm looking to buy this mobo with ALC892 but no where I can see that this motherboard is available with realtek ALC892 except its mentioned in manual.
    Guys please let me know if this is board is available with ALC892 or not. If not then probably I would be buying other brand/mobo.
