I have an iPod Touch 8GB 2nd gen and it's only showing connect to iTunes screen and not letting me past that as I have a password - Already reset and it just loops back to the same screen with the same problem.
Any idea what I can do to fix this?

you can connect the iPod to iTunes in recovery mode:
Hold down the Home button and the Power button simutaneously, until the screen goes black and the device turns off.
Now let go of the Power button, but continue to hold the Home button. Your iPod Touch/iPhone should have turned off and the screen should not be on.
After around ~10-20 seconds, you will hear a noise (beep/ding) from your CPU as if it had just recognized a new hardware device
and restore it to default settings, in order to remove your password (or just remove your password directly from the iPod touch, in order to sync with iTunes)

Against my better judgement, I let iTunes update my ipad with the 5.1.1 IOS. After the download was complete, the iPad showed the Connect to Itunes screen and the device wasn't showing in my iTunes so I unplugged the USB. Now the iPad is stuck on the Connect to iTunes screen. I have tried doing the system restore trick, and that looks like it works when the Apple logo shows up, but right after that it goes back to the Connect to iTunes screen. The iPad will not go to any other screen and will not even power off, just stays on the Connect to iTunes screen. I live 300+ miles from the nearest Apple store so going in is not really an option. I have a similar issue, I tried doing the restore, but now the computer is unable to recognize the ipad. Itunes does not detect the ipad. The ipad works but not able to sync with the computer.
Checking on the device manager of windows 7, it shows that there is an unknown device with no driver for it. How to get a driver for the same? Any suggestions?

I've got an iPhone4S and tried to update to iOS6 via iTunes. While installing, a message came up on my computer saying that "iOS6 could not be installed due to an unknown reason" (I'm paraphrasing b/c I didn't write it down, figuring that I could just re-do it). Ever since that message came up, neither iTunes or my computer recognizes that the phone is plugged in. Also the phone sceen is stuck on the "connect to iTunes" screen, which displays the USB cable with an arrow pointing to an iTunes logo. I've done the 10 seconds reset, updated iTunes, etc., and everything else that the iPhone troubleshooting suggests. Nothing is working, and my phone is totally un-usable. PLEASE HELP!!! Thanks!

1)I tried tinyumbrella. But it stills stucks in Recorvery Loop.
2)Tried also using DFU mode buty tinyumbrella isn't detecting the device in DFU mode.
3)I also tried iRecovery and results are same.
4)Is there anyother way to break the recovery loop as i don't have any backup for my device.

IPod Touch 2nd Gen won't show up in iTunes but does appear in My Computer

When I connect my 2nd Generation iPod touch to my laptop it will not appear in iTunes. It does, however, appear in my Computer.
I have worked through all of the troubleshooting guides on the Apple Support section, and have uninstalled and reinstalled iTunes twice.
This message appears every time I plug my iPod in, and frequently whilst it is still plugged in charging:
'MobileMe Service has stopped working.' This is a pop-up window produced by Windows, I know this is the 'service' that picks up an iPod's prescence but stopping and restarting the service does nothing. My iPod still won't show up.
Please help, I am willing to faff around a bit. Might it be a problem with Windows itself? If so, how would I go about fixing it?

When I connect (via windows computer) to Itunes with usb cord the Ipod icon shows, but the only function you can do is eject. When its in the upper right hand corner and you click on it all you get is a done button, when it's in the side bar right click and your only option is eject, left click has no effect. If I go to "file">devices it's as if there are no devices connected.

You have quite muddied up the waters, I'm afraid. Assuming you now have a single GUID partition formatted Mac OS Extended, Journaled, you should try reinstalling Lion:
Reinstalling Lion/Mountain Lion Without Erasing the Drive
Boot to the Recovery HD: Restart the computer and after the chime press and hold down the COMMAND and R keys until the menu screen appears. Alternatively, restart the computer and after the chime press and hold down the OPTION key until the boot manager screen appears. Select the Recovery HD and click on the downward pointing arrow button.
Repair the Hard Drive and Permissions: Upon startup select Disk Utility from the main menu. Repair the Hard Drive and Permissions as follows.
When the recovery menu appears select Disk Utility. After DU loads select your hard drive entry (mfgr.'s ID and drive size) from the the left side list. In the DU status area you will see an entry for the S.M.A.R.T. status of the hard drive. If it does not say "Verified" then the hard drive is failing or failed. (SMART status is not reported on external Firewire or USB drives.) If the drive is "Verified" then select your OS X volume from the list on the left (sub-entry below the drive entry,) click on the First Aid tab, then click on the Repair Disk button. If DU reports any errors that have been fixed, then re-run Repair Disk until no errors are reported. If no errors are reported click on the Repair Permissions button. Wait until the operation completes, then quit DU and return to the main menu.
Reinstall Lion/Mountain Lion: Select Reinstall Lion/Mountain Lion and click on the Continue button.
Note: You will need an active Internet connection. I suggest using Ethernet if possible because it is three times faster than wireless.

First, try a system reset. It cures many ills and it's quick, easy and harmless...
Hold down the on/off switch and the Home button simultaneously until the screen blacks out or you see the Apple logo. Ignore the "Slide to power off" text if it appears. You will not lose any apps, data, music, movies, settings, etc.
If the Reset doesn't work, try a Restore. Note that it's nowhere near as quick as a Reset. From iTunes, select the iPad/iPod and then select the Summary tab. Follow directions for Restore and be sure to say "yes" to the backup. You will be warned that all data (apps, music, movies, etc.) will be erased but, as the Restore finishes, you will be asked if you wish the contents of the backup to be copied to the iPad/iPod. Again, say "yes."

IPhone shows "Connect to iTunes"-Screen, can't sync!

this morning (Germany) I got really shocked. My iPhone is now showing a "Connect to iTunes"-Screen. When connected to iTunes, I get everything as usual with access to my music and everything.
Except that I can't make a Backup with iTunes.
When I try to do so, iTunes says it can't establish a session (or whatever it's called in english), which is very nasty because my last backup has been exactly a month ago and I have some really important text messages, notes, documents in apps, bought apps for about 40€ (55$) and so on.
I guess my iOS 4.2 Beta has expired (I was still using Beta 1), but is there anything I can do to save my data? I know Apple says Betas aren't for primary use and I should use it on a secondary device, but as I'm a coding-loving pupil I can't afford multiple devices.

Did you check Apple Mobile Device Service and you security settings to see if your driver installation is still ok?
You already mentioned the beta problem, the only thing you could try would be a manual backup on another computer. Don't forget to disable autosync in iTunes before you connect.
