8i Lite and XSQL

After installing both, I tried to run the XSQL demos, but they couldn't connect to the default DB. Upon inspection of the XSQLConfig.xml file, I noticed that none of the connections defined referenced the Oracle Lite 4.0 ODBC Driver (used in the POlite default DSN) in their <driver> tag. What is the proper syntax to place in the <driver> tag so i can use the POlite DSN?

When I said a fresh install, I meant a fresh install of Win2k. That in turn meant that I was doing a completely clean install of Oracle Lite.
As for just doing the Server... not sure this is quite appropriate. OLite doesn't really have a standalone Server; the DB is served up only on the local machine.
The problem is that the DB will typically startup automatically; now, the DB does not start up and I'm unable to make it startup.

Oracle 8i lite and palm pilots

So has Anyone been able to get Oracle 8i Lite to work with a Palm Pilot? I've been browing through some of the forums on 8i Lite and some form apps like Satellite Forms and it doesn't seem like anyone has had much success.

We haven't tried 8i Lite on a palmtop. But we are trying to use it over the Internet and we are having some problems. Have you used 8i Lite over the Internet?!?

Is there any significant difference between oracle 8i lite and oracle 9i lite in terms of database and jdbc drivers?
If not, it may be better off using oracle8i.

According to Oracle , 9i lite is more powerful than 8i Lite.
one thing, 8i Lite is not certified for windows 2000.

Oracle's XML Publisher in JDeveloper and XSQL Servlet

A While ago, in this thread JDeveloper 10g, XSQL and FOP , was mentioned an ongoing effort for the "integration of Oracle's XML Publisher in JDeveloper and XSQL Servlet", Is this still happening ?, will this be something will be able to use without having to be an Oracle Apps shop? Any additional info would be appreciated.

Differences between 9i Lite and 8i Lite

Anyone else get the feeling that 9i lite is a stripped down version of 8i lite?
What are the changes between 8i Lite and 9i lite?
For example 9i Lite no longer provides the replication ocx ?!?!?!! Can anyone suggest a migration path?
Are there any good documentation sources for the differences?

Database Lite and JDeveloper / ADF

Hello,
I'm planning to create a small application which will run on mobile PC in an off-line mode, having synchronization with master DB once connected to the proper network.
The main architecture on the target PC may be :
- Oracle Lite
- GlassFish
- ADF application
I downloaded JDeveloper 11.1.1.3.0 and the latest version of Oracle Lite (10.3.0.3).
I'm looking the tutorials but none of them are talking about the JDeveloper 11g version, they all speak about BC4J/OC4J. Since I'm new to Oracle's product I don't know these "products" (framework ?) and in the 11g version this seems to have disappeared.
Are those versions compatible with each other ?
Will the tutorial work ?

How do I get AVCHD Lite and AVCHD videos to play in Front Row? They use the .mts file extension, and can be played in VLC.

You will have to be able to play them in QuickTime before they'll be available in Front Row. It looks like the current version of iMovie will edit/play AVCHD movies. Can you put one of your videos into iMovie and export it as a QuickTime file?

Problems galore..DS lite, and laptop wont connect

Ok, today i tried to connect my DS lite and it told me it couldnt find the IP and then i tried to connect my laptop and my laptop gave me limited access (no internet)
By the way, i have my Xbox 360, Nintendo Wii and my dad's computer all connected wirelessly and the main computer is hard wired to the router. I used a WEP code which when i entered i knew was correct was because i wrote it down. Anyway, if you have any ideas what may be preventing these items from connecting please let me know.

Hi… I would suggest you to provide static IP on DS lite and try the connection again. You may need to forward the port for the same IP address. Try the same with the laptop. If it does not work then check the WEP key once again from the setup page of this router. I think that’s what may be blocking the connection.

Im running vrf-lite and our dhcp server see only 0.0.0.0. Im able to ping vlan10, and see the dhcp request. Running on a 2811. I have limited access to device. Do I need to turn on Dhcp-relay? Verifing ip forward-protocol. Do i need to add " vrf WISP to my helper-address? The interface it sends Dhcp request is also within the vrf. The dhcp scope is part of Vlan10 subnet

Yes and no. It uses another interface thats within the same vrf Wisp. On the other end of the vrf it is forwarded to our global dhcp server. in bold is where the unicast packet are going using the defaultroute

Difference between O8i Lite and Personal Ed.

What's the difference between Oracle 8i Lite and Personal Edition? Does the light edition support BLOB data type? Are the usage and JDBC drivers the same?

VRF lite and MPLS VRFs

We have a CE router connected to PE router. The CE router is connected via 2 links to the PE router, because we need to create two VRFs on the PE for the traffic coming from the CE to separate the traffic, so we have one vrf per link. We are running OSPF between CE and PE.. Now we need to further separate the traffic up to the CE, so Im thinking of using the VRF lite on the CE.. Can MPLS work with the VRF lite, and how to map the VRF lite VRFs on the CE to the MPLS VPN on the PE?
Is there any config examples?

VRF Lite and MPLS-VPN act independently so they can work independently. And there is no specific need for mapping. If link is for VRF A on PE so you can make it part of vrf A in CE as well. Both VRFs are independent of each other.

Can anyone tell me if i can use Oracle8i Lite in conjunction with Developer6? I am running my computer on a Win98 operating system. Also, what are the differences between Oracle8i lite and Personal Oracle8i?
i have only 64mb RAM and am therefore below the minimum requirements to install Peronal oracl8i (which requires 128mb of RAM), is there any way around this?

There is a hope of Installing Personal Oracle on 64MB machine by increasing the Cache for the machine. I have done it for Oracle Server and it works
Go to : Contron Panel
then : System
Select : Performance tab
Specify Virtual Mem to 200 MB minimun for succesfully install the Database.
I tried using Oralite for Personal Oracle but came to know that it is mostly ment for CE devices and other such things for having connectivity between PC Database and Oracle Server Database(I may be wrong).
Using Personal Oracle with Developer6.0 will also give you some trouble in configuring the TNSNAMES for TCP/IP and Developer uses connect string and without that you probably will not be able to connect to database. Try it I tried but failed, take the help of ODBC.
