Dear all,
We have oracle 8i database. we dont have remember the system or sys password for dateabase . can you please tel me hove to change password of database.
SRVMGRL is not working but SVRMGRL30 is working. how can i resolve this problem.

Just to highlight
If you have User who has DBA role he can change the password
Use OS_authentication to login and change password...
If you are in the server ...check the sqlnet.ora file and set sql_authentication...=NTS which will allow OS authentication to the DB.

Need to reset password, lost install disc

I have a wireless router, Model WRT54GS v7. I moved recently, and I need to reset the password to connect wirelessly. I've lost the install discs during my move. What do I need to do?

The reason why the admin is no longer working as the router password because you might have setup a router password, not knowing, during the first time you setup your router...If you remember the router password when you first used your setup cd to install your router then enter that password else you need to reset your router and re-configure it...
To reset the router press and hold the reset button for 30 seconds...Release the reset button...Unplug the power cable from your router, wait for 30 seconds and re-connect the power cable...Now re-configure your router...

Administrator shut out! password lost.

Situation and problem description:
administrator forgot password. shut out of system. lost admin password is same as login password.
Logged on using another account which has no system privileges nor most applications nor utilities (a child's account).
Time Machine Back ups on separate hard drive are obviously not accessible.
Can not use installation CD as this account has no privileges - so can not use the option to reset password holding down C key.
There is a key logger installed but again it is tied to the administrator and so hot key cannot be used (the key logger will have recorded the new password which has caused this problem - together with lack of foresight, obviously.
Any solution considered including ways to initialize disk even if content is lost - currently the computer is only good enough for my 5 year old.
I need a hacker!
Hypnosis an option? (joking...then again, maybe not!)

How do I go about sorting out a LOST password for Tme Capsule/Time Machine?
Is it even possible?
Do I need to take into Apple dealer?
At Present I am "Blacked Out" in terms of pre feb. 7 (Last Backup)

If you have a Mac you normally use with that Time Capsule you can use the procedure below to retrieve it from that Mac's Keychain.
Otherwise, reset your wireless network password by momentarily depressing the reset button on your AirPort Extreme, Express, or Time Capsule. Press the button for one full second, no more. Then, configure a new password using AirPort Utility.
If you can connect to your wireless network, then simply use AirPort Utility. From the Base Station menu, select Show Passwords...
Your wireless network password is stored in your Mac's Keychain.
You must first have an Administrator account on a Mac that you use with that AirPort Base Station, one that is used to connect to your AirPort network.
On that Mac, open the Utilities folder. Find Keychain Access and launch it.
In the search field at the upper right, type Airport. All the Keychain entries for your base station will appear there, as well as other entries.
Look at the column "Kind". The entry you want to select will be labeled "AirPort network password" (not "AirPort base station password" or anything else).
If you are trying to recover the AirPort Base Station password then the entry you want to select will be labeled "AirPort base station password" not "AirPort network password".
Double-click that, and in the window that appears check the box for "Show password".
You will get the following window:
In the Password field type your Mac's Administrator password - the same one you used to log in to that Mac.
Then, click Allow, and your wireless network password will appear in the "Show password" field:
Make note of it.
Close the window, then quit Keychain Access.

Places.sqlite damaged and my history,bookmarks,passwords lost ..Is there a way to recover or repair it .. To recover my history again?

My History , Bookmarks, Passwords to sites all lost when my pc have viruses i did scan and delete all viruses .but when i open Firefox again all my HISTORY lost .. I thought that places.sqlite (50 mb) deleted but it still exists and i think its damaged , i tried to open with notepad or wordpad i found my old sites and history but it doesn't appear in Mozilla when i open it , its appear recent sites i have visited ONLY. tried also to move it somewhere and do overwrite on new one Firefox created but no change.
Is there a way to repair , fix or recover places.sqlite and back to normal again in mozilla? PLS HELP

I meeting this problem too, but you can to save all possible data from corrupted places.sqlite. Here is the solution I came to (step-by-step):
1. Download sqlite3.exe executable from "http://www.sqlite.org/download.html".
2. Create "SQlite" folder in your FireFox profile.
3. Unpack sqlite3.exe to "SQlite" folder.
4. Create three batch files in "SQlite" folder:
1. sqlite-check.cmd
sqlite3 ..\places.sqlite "PRAGMA integrity_check;"
@PAUSE
2. sqlite-dump.cmd
sqlite3 ..\places.sqlite.corrupt .dump > places.bak
3. sqlite-restore.cmd
sqlite3 ..\places.sqlite < places.bak
5. Give name "places.sqlite.corrupt" to your "places.sqlite" file. It can be already renamed by FireFox.
6. Delete "places.sqlite", "places.sqlite-shm", "places.sqlite-wal" files (all "places.sqlite*" except "places.sqlite.corrupt").
7. Run FireFox, it will create empty "places.sqlite", and close FireFox.
8. Run "2. sqlite-dump.cmd", it will save all possible data from "places.sqlite.corrupt" to "SQlite\places.bak".
9. Run "3. sqlite-dump.cmd", it will recover all saved data from "SQlite\places.bak" to an empty "places.sqlite".
10. Run "1. sqlite-check.cmd" it will check integrity of the "places.sqlite" and must write "OK".
11. Run FireFox. If all fine, files "SQlite\places.bak" and "places.sqlite.corrupt" can be deleted.

HELP! Restore password lost

I have an iphone 5 and went to update to the 8 IOS and had errors and issues. It seems to have updated now, but I lost ALL of my information on it. Since this is a work phone for my business it's VERY important that I restore it. I backed up the phone prior to the upgrade but when I go to restore it to the back up, it asks for a password. Have no clue what that password is. PLEASE help me as I really need the info back asap.

There is a known problem with some installations of Leopard rejecting the admin password. But try this first, boot from your System install disk, but don't do an install. Instead, go to the Utilities menu bar and choose Reset Password. Reset your admin account's password.

If you have access to login as oracle(os user) onto the server. Log on to the database as sys using option "/ as sysdba", then change the password for system user.
Ex:
sqlplus "/ as sysdba"
alter user system identified by <new_system_passwd>;

Backup password lost

I have installed an update for my iphone 4 and backed up all my phone contacts etc... HOWEVER.... it is now asking me for a password to reinstall the backed up info, and i dont recall setting one up for this....ie I have tried all my passwords but no go!.... help! can someone please tell me how to get past this, its almost Christmas and i have a bloody blank phone!

POP accounts passwords lost

I have 6 POP accounts, and after a restart I have lost all the passwords that were previously stored.
Have checked the mail accounts and the password fields are all blank.
Keychain seems fine as passwords are still stored for various websites so all good there.
Anyone have any suggestions?

ASA IPS/ASA-SSM-10 Password Lost

I just started administering a ASA with IPS module, but password is lost. I have tried default but cannot.
If I try to tftp using management it even is on but Switch does not see it up and cannot administer from there.

I found this in the configuration manual for the IPS:
The following password recovery options exist:
?If another Administrator account exists, the other Administrator can change the password.
?If a Service account exists, you can log in to the service account and switch to user root using the command su - root. Use the password command to change the CLI Administrator account's password. For example, if the Administrator username is "adminu," the command is password adminu. You are prompted to enter the new password twice. For more information, see Creating the Service Account.
You can reimage the sensor using either the recovery partition or a system image file.

MMC CARD PASSWORD LOST

I had my phone replaced yesterday. now when i place my old memmory card in the new phone it is asking for a password access code. i have tried the phone pin code and security code, however they are incorrect. my mmc card has my sat. nav. and i am desperately trying to sort this out. can anyone help on this. thanks a lot.

A password on a memory card is used to prevent the use of the card in another phone (in case you loose it, or it gets stolen). If you set it, you should also remove it on the original phone (with the same password that was used you set it), before using the card in a new (another) phone.
If you've lost or forgotten the password, then there is no easy way to recover any data from the card (if it was easy, there wouldn't be much point in a password feature like that in the first place, would there?).
It might be possible to reformat the card in some other device (most devices won't do/allow it, if the password has been set and is not supplied), but reformatting the card will also cause all data to be lost.
A data recovery service (such as Ibas might get the data for you, but the cost for using such a service will probably far exceed the price of the card and the phone (you can probably get many new cards and phones with that money).Message Edited by petrib on 01-Dec-2005

FORCE IPAD INTO RECOVERY MODE
1. Turn off iPad
2. Turn on computer and launch iTunes (make sure you have the latest version of iTune)
3. Plug USB cable into computer's USB port
4. Hold Home button down and plug the other end of cable into docking port.
DO NOT RELEASE BUTTON until you see picture of iTunes and plug
5. Release Home button.
ON COMPUTER
6. iTunes has detected iPad in recovery mode. You must restore this iPad before it can be used with iTunes.
7. Select "Restore iPad"...
Note:
1. Data will be lost if you do not have backup
2. You must follow step 1 to step 4 VERY CLOSELY.
