8mm iphone app clips are laggy in iMovie 11
I am making a cheap music video for my band. Over the past couple of months, I've been taking some video of various things with the 8mm iphone video app. Now I am editing the clips in iMovie 11. Importing and exporting seem to work just fine. But at the beginning of some clips (usually ones that are a little longer, over 2 seconds) there is a little hiccup lasting just a fraction of a second. No matter how I edit them, and even when I export the whole project, those clips do the same thing. My computer is a brand new mac mini running 10.7.3, so that can't be the issue. Just to compare, I also looked at the clips in my other, much older mac mini with a much earlier version of iMovie. Same thing! So I figure, it must be some kind of encoding error, right? I noticed that the red progress indicator thingy in iMovie 11 also jumps a little when there's a corresponding hiccup in the video itself. Lastly, I took one of the offending clips out of iMovie and just played it regularly on the desktop with Quicktime. As the clip was starting up, again, there was that little hiccup. Any ideas? I'm kinda desperate. It's looking really good otherwise, and it'll break my heart a little to have to start from scratch. ps: the 8mm iphone app video is in .MOV format. Thanks!
OK. If you had real 8MM film, it would be playing at 18 fps and this app seems to be approximating that. However, when you use in an iMovie project, your timeline will be either 30fps, 25fps, or 24 fps, so iMovie must convert.
One thing that may help is to right click on the Event and see if it allows you to optimize media.

Video clips are missing from iMovie...Yosemite?
I recently downloaded Yosemite. I had a number of video clips (from Cannon Camera) in iMovie; they are no longer showing up. These clips were of my deceased mom. I've tried finding them in Time Capsule - NOT there. Can someone PLEASE HELP ME.

MikeI actually found a number of my videos in iPhoto and have created a new folder on desktop. I have moved the clips there and backup things up using Time Capsule. I know that many people may think that Time Capsule is antiquated and they're using iCloud. For those of us that don't use iCloud for photos, etc. I think you need to have a folder of items on your desktop in order to be saved in Time Capsule. Just thought I's share my experience and prevent others from troubles.
I just don't understand why items (that previously existed in iMovie) are no longer appearing due to Yosemite upgrade. -
A list of iphone apps that are crashing
Hi, just thought everyone should post after a few days, what applications are crashing on your iphone. My main one is. "vSnax"
Every two or three launches it crashes and reboots my iphone. Not usable at present.ok i had the same issues with Apps crash and returning to home screen, here is what i did and i have been using my phone with no issues.
1st delete the apps from your phone
2nd do a restore
when Itunes wants asks if you want to sync as new phone or from back up, choose new phone.
you will lose all your data and basically will be starting from scratch, but resync but all your music, contacts(saved to the computer) if you have not saved photos taken from your Iphone to your desk top you will loose them too. this worked great for me, and several other people -
Screenium clips are inverted in iMovie HD 6
I have been using Screenium to make screencasts, but when I import the .mov clips into iMovie HD 6, the video is inverted top to bottom. When I just play the video through quicktime, it is right-side up. Is this a problem with iMovie or Screenium? Is there a way to rotate the video 180 degrees to make it right-side up?
Also, if I upload the the quicktime clip to Youtube and try to view it from the web it is also inverted.
Am I missing something simple here? I have been know to do that!I have never used Screenium nor do I know anything about it, but iMovie 6 prefers footage in .dv format. You may have more success if you use Streamclip to convert the .mov to .dv before importing it into iMovie 6

App not showing on the iphone App Store
Hi all,
We just released ou iOS app on the App Sore from the state "Pending Developer Release" about 6 hours ago.
Its version 2 of an app that was only available on iPad, but this new version is built fo both iPad and iPhone.
The App Store on iPad has been showing the new version for about 2 hours, but the iPhone App Store doesnt yet show the app.
Its possible that propagation times are different for the different devices' stores? But we were just wondering if anyone has any experience with DPS apps released for iPhone and iPad?
We've looked for the app on the South African store and the USA store but its nowhere to be found. (its configured to be available on all countries' stores) The browser link below is our app - it states that the app is 'designed for both iPhone and iPad' and 'Compatible with iPhone, iPad, and iPod touch' - so we believe our app itself isnt the problem.

thanks, Vauneenlooks like propagation for the ipad app store and the iphone app store are different. our app was on the ipad store after about 5 hours, iphone store took about 11 hours.
(this wasnt for approval, this was after we release it from 'pending developer release')

I want some of the same apps available on my iphone and ipad2 to be available on my macbook pro app store and to be able to link them through icloud. Is this not possible? If not, why not?
The Mac uses Mac OS X and iDevices use iOS. These are two different operating systems and the apps must be written for each operating system specifically, even when the apps go by the same name, such as the iWork apps, they are two ifferent versions of the same app for the two different platforms.
So, as an example, Safari has been written for three different operating systems, Mac OS X, iOS and Windows. And the Safari apps, as similar as they are visually, are not interchangeable for the different platforms. -
I am trying to set up home sharing between my iphone 4s and mac which is running itunes 11. Both are connected to my home wifi network and using the same apple id but on the iphone app it says 'Turn on Home sharing in iTunes on your computer or apple tv using account ***

App Store says update available for iPhone app. Try to install and get the message "the item you are trying to buy is no longer available" for three apps in a row. Even when I go to the specific app and press Update, the update begins to install then aborts with this error message.iPhone 3GS running iOS 5.1.1. Also very long delay typing each keystroke in this message.
That error message is usually indicative of a problem with the App Store. If you look through the forums, you'll see that a number of people are experiencing the problem. Try again tomorrow.

I am trying to find an app or software to burn iMovie 11 slideshow to a dvd. I have a MacBook Pro with Mavericks. There are a lot of DVD Creator apps at the App store. Looking for a recommendation of what to use and tips. Thank you.
I've been using "Burn" for years and it has been the only DVD burning software I have ever used for the mac. I have never needed to look at other apps. Unless you want something that has more bells and whistles such as Roxio's "Toast" : http://www.roxio.com/enu/products/toast/pro/overview.html
There are thousands of quality free apps out there for the mac that are not part of the App Store. All you have to do is read reviews online, do a little search, the Apple forums are full of recommendations from experienced users that have been here for years... -
why am I still getting this message after logging in? "This computer is no longer authorized for apps that are installed on the iPhone “*************s iPhone”. Would you like to authorize this computer for items purchased from the iTunes Store?" - after I have logged in and get the message that the computer is already authorized!!!?? - and then the above message pops up again?

while trying to sync with my iphone I recieve the message: This computer is no longer authorized for apps that are installed on the iPhone “Terri George’s iPhone”. Would you like to authorize this computer for items purchased from the iTunes Store? When I put in my password and hit authorize, I get a message telling me there was an unknown error (-50). Would love to sync today. Any help would be appreciated.

I had to restore my iPhone, but my apps from the app store are now missing. However, they are still backed up on my PC. I tried synching, but no luck. Any ideas??

Updated my iphone 3gs, lost my music and apps, they are backed up on my computer but i cannot move them over to my phone, tried to sync but not working, please help
well first make sure that when you click on the name of your iphone on the left hand side of itunes that you go to the app and music tab and check mark the sync apps and sync music. then try clicking apply in the bottom right hand corner. then if not try doing it again after going to prefrences in the top menu and going to devices tab and click reset sync history if that doesnt work with music try and drop and drag to the name of your iphone, lastly if that doesnt work you can try restoring from a backup from before you updated. it will keep the new software but put everything that was on your phone when you created the backup back onto your phone.

... for the past few months i have noticed that emails in my inbox Yahoo mail account older than a few weeks keep disappearing. i cannot find them in my Yahoo account or iPhone app BUT i can see them on my Mac Mail version of email. Emails that i have stored into folders in my yahoo account are still there... same with my sent emails... it's just the Inbox emails.. strange, very strange. I don't know how to 'move' the emails from my Mac Mail back to my Yahoo account.
Please read and begin using Can receive email, but not send email. I had a similar issue with Comcast mail (could receive by not send) and found my answer in this letter. For me it took resetting the outgoing mail and telling the system to use a password when sending outgoing mail. If you need help with that please advise and I'll tell you where to look.
