8tracks not playing when open in a different tab to the one its using

Good Day,
I am struggling to keep 8tracks playing continuously when I am browsing in other open internet tabs. I have to actually be on that page in order for it to continue playing. If a song starts and then I go to a different tab, it will finish playing the song, but then it stops. The same as when I just play music and my laptop sleeps open, the music just stops. It is still playing online (as the songs are changing even though I can't hear them), but it just doesn't play through my laptop. I never had this problem with my previous laptop, so I know that this is possible for 8tracks to do.

Take out the 8tracks tab as a separate window, then hide it in a very corner, leave the desktop space for rest your things

This should work; one of my e-mail accounts is my own domain through Gmail. Make sure your username is set to your full e-mail address (like [email protected]) rather than just your username.
Did you set it up on your iPhone as an IMAP account, or as a Gmail account? It should work perfectly using the Gmail setting. It can work as IMAP, but you need to jump through a few hoops to get there.

Flash plugin stops playing when hidden or on different tab.

I've noticed (a few months ago, actually) that in most browsers I use to test my application (Firefox, chrome and explorer) the flash plug in, while playing it's content, will stop, or freeze, when the actual plug in playback window is out of the window (due to scrolling, or switching tabs), or covered by another window (a different browser or program window that will cover the visible area of the player), which is something good, and nice, when you think about web pages full of commercials slowing down your browser and computer in general, but what happens when you a games programmer, who work with multiplayer games, on games which are mostly turn based?
If one of my players switches tabs, open a new window over the browser, or god forbids, scroll down the page, the game is essentially stopped, since no events occur on that players side of the game!!
And this does not effect just simple frame based animation, but everything, onEnterFrame events stop, setInterval stops... the only thing that I could find that does not stop when this happens is a setInterval action done in a different swf, which is loaded to a different level of my game file.
How can I by pass this? and what did Adobe or who ever came up with this idea, was thinking? a whole community of games programmers left to dry in the sun??
Hoping for a solution to be found for this problem, since my boss is already talking Java, and I don't want to go there....

The article clearly states that:
"regardless of the value of the hasPriority parameter, a SWF file that is not visible to the user always has its rendering paused".
And this is a big big big big huge huge terrible terrible problem for programmers and users of flash based turn by turn games, since as a player, if I would want to "cheat" the game, all I need to do is simply switch to another tab in the browser, or open a new window, a program, something to cover the screen, and that would "pause" the game.
This new feature is, and will, kill the turn by turn based games, time based games (since now I can "pause" the timer) and if you think about it, real time games also, as rendering stops completely when the swf is not visible on the screen!!
This is not only ridiculous, it's going to create problems for all flash developers of real dynamic online content!!

Some emails do not appear when open, yet if I reply to the email, the text shows in the reply. How can I fix this?

When I open certain emails, nothing appears except the headers. Yet when I reply to the message, all the text appears. I have made sure that the setting are correct for these accounts. If I open my email in IE 9, everything appears. Is there a way to fix this? IE is my last choice for browsers.

Firefox doesn't do email, it's a web browser.
If you are using Firefox to access your mail, you are using "web-mail". You need to seek support from your service provider or a forum for that service.

HT2492 Clicking on different widget than the one previously used, brings me back to Desktop?

Hello,
I have a problem where if I click on a widget other than the one I previously used, I am taken back to my Desktop. I then have to open dashboard again, to get to the widget i want. I can now use the widget i initially wanted, but clicking on a different widget starts the cycle again. This is really annoying me. How can i fix this?
By the way, I am running 10.7.3 and I am up to date on all Mac updates.

this one is actually a really rare symptom of a flaky connection to the ipod on a Windows PC. there's more going on in terms of hardware on nanos and 5th gens than in the earlier models ... so if the connection is flaky to precisely the right/wrong degree, itunes will see the ipod, but misidentify it as an earlier version of ipod.
tracking down the cause of the flakiness can be tricky ... as you already know ...
just checking. have you tried connecting with a different (known-good) USB cable? does that seem to have any impact on the rate of occurence of the problem?

How do I create an action to save as, but into a different folder than the one I used to create the action?

I am having an issue with my action being created to save under the same folder that my action was created with. For instance, I opened an image, recorded the action, then I went to a different folder to play the action, but it saves to the previous folder. How do I add some way to change the folder I want my pics to save to?

FLV File does not play when published to my web server

Hi. I have created a short video in VC3 and selected the FLV option to create a web page. When I uploaded the entire file content to my web server (windows 2003 server hosted at Network Solutions) the FLV file will not play. Now... if I do the same with a WMV tile, the video plays.

You should probably double-check to ensure the standard.js file was also copied in when the HTML page was imported. It should be there but it never hurts to double check.
You might also perform a double-check to ensure things ended up in the correct folder (if you are organizing your project into folders). It could be that you moved the HTML page into a different folder and orphaned the JavaScript file.

I'm having a similar problem ... just used my iPad 2 to purchase the Bourne trilogy and it downloaded fine but I did not try to play it right away. Then I plugged the iPad into the computer and it downloaded the SD versions of the movie and I used iTunes to sync my movies. Then I tried to play it and it said it could not open the movie. I then did a full iPad restore and did a fresh sync and now I get the Cannot Opne pop up. Did you ever find an answer to your question?

My Netflix will not play when my Apple TV is connected to my Sprint Hotspot.

I can watch videos on my Netflix account from my laptop connected to the exact same Hotspot. I can access my Netflix and search for videos, yet when I attempt to play I get (139:NFErr_MC_AuthFailure). I have reset and restored every single device/app involved. I have checked that no parental controls are on. I have called Netflix and Sprint both with no resolution. I live on an island and do not have access to another form of internet (hence the Hotspot). I used to have AT&T and never had this issue. Any ideas?

I'm having the same issue. I live on a farm and the only internet fast enough is from my phone. I've connect the hotspot, but I get that same error when I try and play something. What does work, however, is if I pull up the netflix app on my phone (a different phone from the one I am using as a hotspot), play it from there, and airplay it on the apple TV. It's a big pain and it effectively slows my connection because I'm streaming it through the hotspot onto my phone and then pushing that back through the network onto the Apple TV. Any way to play it directly from Apple TV??

RealPlayer can cause conflicts with Flash Player because it tries to assign EVERY TYPE of video or audio file to itself by default. I haven't used RealPlayer in years for that reason. It's an unnecessary program anymore. There are apps loike VLC media player that cna do EVERYTHING it does without conflicting with other apps like Flash Player.
With WIndows 8, Microsoft began embedding FlashPlayer themselves into Internet Explorer. Because of that, you cannot download and install it from here. You cannot uninstall it from Internet Explorer without removing a specific Windows Update first. And you cannot update it via this website. ONLY through Windows Update can Flash Player for Internet Explorer be updated.
That said, you probably DON'T have a virus that's causing the problems with Flash Player and Internet Explorer. Many, many websites are not "recognizing" the browser.
This is a known problem with Internet Explorer 11, which Microsoft has been aware of since October 18 when they released IE11 The pages can't recognize the browser, so they don't recognize any of the plugins, like Flash Player.
So far, Microsoft has made NO indication that they have any plan to fix it soon.
Microsoft's recommendation is to use Compatibility View for affected pages, and "pretend" you're using an different browser. Trouble with that is it has seen limited success at best, and you have to individually enable it for EVERY page that has problems.
I'm not big on "pretending" so I recommend actually using another browser.

Chrome (from Google)
ANY of those will work where IE11 won't, with the Flash Player Plug-in (For all other browsers), and Chrome doesn't even need that because it has its own Flash Player plugin built in.

Video is just not playing when pulled down to the timeline. Seems to resolve itself for a bit after I reboot the program.

Using optimized media should be fine to work with given those specs.
Does the problem happen often? When you say it doesn't play, I'm not exactly sure what you mean.
One thing to check for is that the timeline scrollbar hasn't moved (vertically) so that the issue isn't just that you can't see it due to a scrolling issue. This has happened to me a few times -- especially when zooming in/out. I think it's a bug. But all you have to do is scroll up to get your clips back into view.
