9.0.2 update  - audio sync isuues

I have just seen that update 9.0.2 is available that addresses the audio sync issues.

To be SURE that you are not simply copying a previously rendered movie, make a tiny change to the project OR remove the movies from the media browser, THEN re-export it. Tell us if that works.
Thanks for your suggestion. But let me make sure I understand it. I'm not doing any copying. I'm simply playing DV files in iMovie. That the files themselves are OK I take from the fact that when I play them in QuickTime there is no problem with the synchronization. When I played them in iMovie '11, version 9.0.1, the problem was large. When I reinstalled 9.0, the problem was smaller. Now that I have installed 9.0.2, I seem to have the larger problem associated with 9.0.1. So it looks like I will have to take out my iLife '11 disk again and reinstall 9.0. At this point, the best (partial) solution I can come up with is to split up the long event-clips using MPEG Streamclip, once I have figured out how to do that. I'm also worried about destructive editing, or the space required to keep split and unsplit copies of everything. So I guess I don't understand the relevance of your suggestion. Could you explain? Thanks.

  • Jittery HD Video in CS4 After Updates - Audio Sync Before Updates

I just got a new laptop, an Asus G73JW. I loaded up my Adobe Production Premium CS4 suite, opened a project in HDV 1080i setting, but the audio was out of sync. I checked it in WMP and it appeared fine. I did the Adobe updates and the audio sync issue was fixed, unfortunately, the video is now jittery and looks horrible. I would much rather have audio sync issues, as least I can fix that, even if tedious.
I am running Windows 7 64 bit OS and all updates are done in both Win 7 and Adobe. I captured the HDV in HDV Split and they are .m2t files.
Any ideas what the jittery video issues are? Any advice would be greatly appreciated.
    Thank you in advance,
    Aaron

Well this is ebarassing, but it works fine now after a reboot. I just had the OS reinstalled after corruption issues in the original install. I forgot to turn Windows auto update off this time and I didn't realize that Windows was updating in the background as I was working. It is turned off now, and I went through my settings more carefully.
I am editing HD with my new laptop now with no isues and it works great.
Sorry for he false alarm, and thank you for the help Bill.

  • Premiere CS4 - Audio sync problems, Encoding Problems

    Hi,
I've been using Premiere CS3 for encoding 20-25 minute videos to deploy on a Flash Media Streaming server.
Today I upgraded to CS4 and everything that I render to FLV/FV4, H264 or Quicktime format has serious audio sync problems when I use AAC as the audio codec. Unfortunately for me, AAC is the codec that I need to use for the streaming server. The audio is synchronized to begin with, but it gets progressively unsynched as the video progresses.
Has anyone else had this problem? I'm using bitrates of 256 kbps, 512kbps for the video and 24 kbps / 32 kbps for the audio.
Another thing that I've noticed is that many of the options that I used when encoding videos are no longer available!! For instance, I cannot generate hinting tracks for Quicktime, and most of the audio frequencies are gone for Quicktime as well.
    What a disappointment:(

Seems to be an on going issue with no response from Adobe.  Have the same issue with the audio running ahead of the video.  (Cool if this was an old Japanese monster video).
Running CS4 PP & AME all updates are current.  Nvida Quardro CX (current drivers 4.20.006) used several formats (Elemental h.264 to MPEG-2) same issue.

  • Flv audio sync issues & player 9

Greetings, I've been looking for a solution for weeks, and
thought I'd give the forums a shot.
I have a client site with 6 progressively downloaded flv
clips that play when a button is clicked.
The flv files are encoded with After Effects 6.5, and the swf
files are published in Player 8.
The video clips are made with an alpha channel of a guy
talking and are about 30 sec to 1 minute long each.
The problem is audio sync issues on certain computers during
playback even when the files are completely buffered.
The other problem is that these flv files won't play on
computers that have player 9 loaded.
I'm investigating whether there are audio sync issues when
encoding flv files from AE 6.5, but still really
confused about the player 9 issue. I was wondering if there
are updates to 9 I can recommend to my client
or if adobe knows of any bugs that are currently being looked
    into.
    Thanks,
    Kevin

I may just be talking to myself here, but...
Could there be any difference in the way an flv plays when
    you
import the flv to the stage, as opposed to playing it
    dynamically
using the NetStream class? Could this cause any audio sync
issues? Does Flash Player 9 have any difficulties displaying
    flv files loaded dynamically?
Any ideas from Adobe folks would be great. Thanks.

  • Video audio sync problems resolved

I've solved my audio syncing with video problems.  Maybe it will help you find your solution.
I recently installed Leap Motion but it said I needed to update my video driver.  I thought my driver was up to date so for both my computers that had different video cards I updated and the syncing issues were gone.
So as far as helping you get the right update I won't be of much help.  But at least this will give everyone a direction to look in and find their own solution.
I hope this helps and good luck!

    Hi there
In addition to what Leslie offered (which is good advice) I've seen others report success by staging the audio to begin slightly after the slide starts. Perhaps .3 .4 or .5 seconds into each slide.

  • Audio Sync Problems With Share YouTube -- OSX not iOS

I've replicated this several times. It's maddening and bizarre. *Share YouTube*
Exporting a FCPX video using the "SHARE" menu and choosing YouTube causes the resulting upload to be out of sync when viewed in Safari or other browsers on iOS
Viewing the same video on the iPad with the built in YouTube app, the video plays in sync
Viewing the same video on AppleTV 2 (with the 5.1 update), the video plays in sync.
If I export using Export Media menu item under the SHARE menu, and then from QuickTime Player choose Export For Web (under the File menu) and manually upload, the video is in sync.
    Note, that using
Feel free to try on this short simple and silly video http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cGTQNMJdPRQ&list=UUiDxioBFJCPC-8OUFifsx8A&index=2 &feature=plcp
Anyone else experience this. Is this a bug or a feature? Rather not go through three steps to upload a simple YouTube video.

We've got the same problem and yep, it's infuriating that are so few posts about it.
It doesn't happen with every video, but the vast majority of files that we've tried to either export directly to YouTube from QTX or export locally and then manually upload to YouTube end up with shockingly bad audio sync (and also some colour issues, but that's another story).
As a small video production company we were chuffed to bits with the improved export speed in QTX and quick to make use of it. But when we realised there was a problem, we had to revert back to using QT7's painfully slow export.
We've run experiments on a brand new iMac and MacBook Pro running the most up-to-date version of OS X and still no joy. Always the same audio sync problems with the same video files.
In the meantime however,  we've found that the settings advised on this YouTube help page have given us the best (albeit slow) results at both 25fps and 30fps when exporting from QT7:

  • IPad 3 audio sync issue when video imported into CS5.5

Hi everyone, long time lurker here, love the support you guys are giving!
I'm hoping you'll be able to help with an audio sync problem I'm experiencing with videos recorded with the latest iPad 3 (well, that's what I'm calling it anyway).
I believe the iPad 3 recording format is 1080/30p with 44.1Khz / 16 bit audio, but when I match those settings on a Premiere Pro CS5.5 project (or try 48KHz audio as a test), the audio gradually goes out of sync. If the video is several minutes long, it becomes quite obvious, and by 10 minutes, it's terrible!
I should add the file plays back fine on the iPad itself and was imported to a Mac via iTunes. It also plays fine on the Mac itself in Quicktime.
Does anyone have any suggestions on project settings that'd work?
On a related note, I additionally captured the audio using a Zoom H2n which i intended to replace in Premiere, but foolishly I captured it at 48KHz, rather than the 44.1KHz of the iPad video file. Should I resample it?
I actually managed to line-up the 48 and 44.1KHz waveforms from the iPad and Zoom in Premiere quite accurately, but again both gradually go out of sync with the video...
I'm running Premiere Pro 5.5.2 on Mac OSX 10.7.3.
    Any suggestions greatly appreciated!
    Gordon Laing

To update my original post, I have found this problem happens about half the time.
Sometimes there's no issue and the audio is in sync when imported into Premiere, but at other times it's way off.
I did however find a workaround which has resolved the problem on my iPad3 videos which were out of sync and that was to first import the video clip into iMovie on the Mac first, then simply export it again using the 1080p option. The subsequent file is much larger (so there's been an annoying re-encode), but when imported into Premiere, the audio is at least now in sync.
I used this to fix the audio on a couple of the videos you can find on this page (all of which apart from the last one were filmed on the iPad3)
    http://www.cameralabs.com/features/Working_holiday/
Since the video wasn't exactly critical to start with, I'm not too bothered by the re-encode.
Let me know if this fix works for anyone, and also if anyone comes up with a different solution.
    Thanks,
    Gordon

  • Audio Sync issues Premiere CC and AJA T-AP

I need to get the audio sync issues resolved in Premiere. Using CC with an AJA T-tap. I downloaded and installed latest firmware and drivers, and plug-ins. Audio is playing back through Mac Pro line output. When the T-tap is turned off the audio plays in sync with the video on the computer screen. When I turn on T-tap and give it a 200 ms offset, it plays back in sync with my external monitor, but the computer screen is out of sync. If I skip around in the sequence quickly and press the playback, sometimes the monitor is out of sync. I need my audio and video to be in sync on all screens all the time. How do I resolve this issue?
    Thanks, Scott

    Hi team!
    cc: petergaraway
Wondering if anyone has any updates on the Premiere CC v AJA T-Tap situation?
I just bought an AJA to go with our new trash can iMac, which has been beasted out so it shouldn't have any performance issues. I have two thunderbolt displays for the edit and a Samsung LED TV on the wall for client monitoring. There is a 10m HDMI cable running to get to the TV, through walls and ceiling, which I just replaced to a cable with a booster in the middle because I thought that distance might be the first cause of the lag.
I guesstimate we are anywhere between 6-12 frames out at times. Also, the vision seems to be buffering, and thus at times jolts on the screen as it tries to catch up (or back) to the audio.
Audio is coming out through the Headphones jack on the mac to a small Behringer mixer, where I have monitor speakers for the edit and then wall speakers for the client. So I have been keeping the Audio output to the Adobe Desktop Audio. If I select AJA T-Tap it sends the audio straight to the TV, even despite going back into the system settings.
In Preferences > Playback, the AJA settings are to Match Sequence and Minimum Buffer. Playing with the m/s frame offsets doesn't seem to make any progress on the issue. And infact if I push it to 500m/s it only worsens the buffering problem I described above.
I went into the AJA control panel and have made sure everything is set to 1080p25 as our timelines will invariably always be 25fps (Australia).
But right now I am pretty stuck, and think our slight sync issue was better before I introduced the AJA T-Tap to our system, when we ran the HDMI straight out of the back of the Mac. Only problem now is I put the HDMI back there and I don't get a signal to the tv!
Would love any other thoughts or suggestions here.
    Mike.

  • IPhone 4 Audio Syncing Problem

    Hi,
I have a slightly bizarre audio syncing issue.
I have a brand new iPhone 4 which works perfectly in every respect except that it seems incapable of playing audio files which are synced from iTunes on my PC.
I am using iTunes version 10.1.1.4 on an Acer Aspire Laptop running Vista.
The iPhone 4 is also running the latest software and has not been modded or otherwise messed around with in any way.
    The salient points:
    1. All AAC (.m4a) files synced from iTunes on PC to iPhone do not play at all.
    2. All mp3 files synced from iTunes on PC to iPhone appear to get 'chopped-up' during the syncing process into largish chunks which are then re-assembled into the wrong order. The iPhone will then quite happily play these re-assembled mp3s time and time again. (e.g. original track gets broken down during syncing into random sections a-b-c-d-e and track then turns up on iPhone as say c-b-e-d-a).
    3. Any (m4a format) track downloaded directly from iTunes Store to the iPhone plays perfectly on the iPhone. If said track is then synced to PC, removing it from iPhone and then synced back to iPhone, it then refuses to play on iPhone.
    4. Any (mp3 format) track downloaded from the web directly to the iPhone plays perfectly on the iPhone. If said track... you get the chop-chop thing again.
    5. All tracks at all times play flawlessly on iTunes on the PC.
    Any clever suggestions?
    Thanks.

    Symptoms
In rare instances, iTunes may become unresponsive when connecting an iPhone, iPad or iPod touch to your computer. iTunes may become responsive again after you disconnect the device from the computer.

    Resolution
Expand All Sections | Collapse All Sections
Follow the steps below to troubleshoot the issue:
    1. Install any available software updates for your computer.
■For Mac OS X: Click the Apple () menu, choose Software Update, and follow the on-screen instructions.
■For Windows: Refer to the documentation for your computer for instructions on using Windows Update to update your computer.
2.Update iTunes to the latest version.
■For Mac OS X: Click the Apple () menu, choose Software Update, and follow the on-screen instructions. You can also download iTunes from the Apple website.
■For Windows: Use Apple Software Update, or download iTunes from the Apple website.
    3.Test with automatic syncing disabled.
■For Mac OS X: Click the iTunes menu and choose Preferences. Click the Devices tab and place a check next to option to "Prevent iPods, iPhones and iPads from syncing automatically." Click OK.
■For Windows: Click the Edit menu and choose Preferences. Click the Devices tab and place a check next to option to "Prevent iPods, iPhones and iPads from syncing automatically." Click OK.
Reconnect your device and test to see if the issue still occurs. If your device is recognized successfully, you may be able to isolate which type of data is causing the issue. Do this by deselecting all syncing options under each of the syncing tabs and then sync. After that, re-enable your sync options one at a time until the issue returns.
Note: If the issue only occurs when syncing data from the Info tab is enabled (For example: Contact, Calendar, Mail account or Bookmark syncing), reset the Sync History (for Mac OS X instructions see this article, for Windows see this article).
4.Check your device for podcasts. If there are any podcasts, manually delete all podcast episodes from the device by sliding your finger across the podcast episode's name and tapping Delete. Once all podcasts are removed from your device, reconnect it to the computer, open iTunes, and test.
5.If possible, test to see if connecting your device to a different computer with the latest version of iTunes installed resolves the issue.
    6.Test with iTunes plug-ins removed.
    ■Quit iTunes.
■Navigate to the following folder, based on your operating system:
    Windows XP: C:\Documents and Settings\[username]\Application Data\Apple Computer\iTunes\iTunes Plug-ins
    Windows Vista or Windows 7: C:\Users\[username]\App Data\Roaming\Apple Computer\iTunes\iTunes Plug-ins
    Mac OS X:
■~/Library/iTunes/iTunes Plug-ins (The "~" represents your Home folder)
    ■/Library/iTunes/iTunes Plug-ins
■If any files are in this folder, move them to the Desktop temporarily.
■Open iTunes and test to see if the issue is resolved. If so, you may leave these iTunes plug-ins removed. If you wish to re-use these iTunes plug-ins, consult the vendor for the iTunes plug-ins to see if any updates are available.
If the issue also occurs on a different computer:
You may need to restore your device to factory settings.
■If your device has an internet connection, you may use email to send yourself your pictures, notes, and other data you may need to back up before you restore.
■If you have backed up your device in the past, and you wish to keep this backup, make a copy of your backup on your computer. See this article for details on where backups are stored.
■Follow this article to restore your device. When the restore is finished, restore from your latest backup.
■If the issue returns, follow steps this article again, but restore your device "As new" when prompted.
1.From the Start menu, choose Control Panel.
2.Open Add or remove user accounts (If using the Classic View in Windows Vista, open User Accounts. Then open Manage another account).
3.Select Create a new account and follow the instructions to complete the account setup process.
4.Once the new account is created, choose Log Off from the Start menu.
5.Log in to the newly created user account.
6.Open iTunes and determine whether the issue you were experiencing persists in this new user.

  • Audio sync hanging in never never l

HI Folks, I am new to the world of mp3 players. I have a Zen macro (firmware ..3), Creative media (3.0.09). I am attempting to back up my audio files with audio sync and it is hanging up after 3% to % of the files being backed up. I don't know what other information that you would need, i would appreciate if someone could point me in the right direction. I would like to update the software but need to backup my files first.
    Thanks
    Roger Anderson

There's a slightly later version of MediaSource, 3.0.2, but Audiosync is notorious for not working well.
I recommend you simply just transfer the files back to the PC, but make sure you go into the PC Music Library settings and define folder(s) and filename for the resulting files on the PC. Otherwise they end up in a huge mess.

  • Problems with Audio Sync and Rendering

In both problems what happens is NOT consistent. If were, would think was a setting or something I was doing wrong.
About the rendering problem. I capture either through FCP Log and Capture or through my analog to digital "box", Formac Studio TVR. In both cases record in DV setting. When I then Import these files about 3 out of 4 times they need full rendering. But doing all things the same, there is that 1 out of 4th time where no rendering is needed at all. Does not seem to matter whether I capture through FCP or Foremac. Results seem the same. Like I said to begin with, if was consistent would figure that is just how the program is. But due to the time it takes to do a render, sure would be nice if could be avoided some way.
Regarding the Audio Sync. At times, maybe 1 out 10 times, the audio is bad. It begins at the beginning of the film being out of sync maybe two or three frames. But then every 10 minutes of film it progressively get's worse, losing a good 6 to 10 frames as one goes. I can fix by doing a lot of cutting and then moving the film around till it is in sync again, but as you can imagine takes a LOT of extra work. Any ideas as to why this is happening and what could be done to prevent in future??
Thanks in advance for any help you can provide.

I've used flip4mac for about a year and have had no problems with it. I mostly use it to export preview versions for windoze people. The quality is very good, though it takes significantly longer to export than a similar-quality quicktime movie.
