9.0 won't recognize serial number

I am trying to download my licensed copy of Acrobat 9.0 onto a new desktop computer. I have no idea where the original disk is. I have the serial number saved here on my Adobe account, but the download says it's not valid. But I'm looking at it right on Adobe's page! I copied and pasted. I tried entering manually. Still says not a valid serial number....

Maybe it's an Acrobat Standard number and you're trying to install Acrobat Pro.

I moved CS4 Standard to new Win 8.1 laptop. It won't recognize serial number.

I deactivated and uninstalled CS4 Standard from an old laptop. I tried to install it on a new win 8.1 laptop using an install folder (the new laptop doesn't have a dvd drive), but it wouldn't recognize the serial number. It installed ok as a trial, but this isn't a permanent solution.

Same exact thing happened to me (with Adobe trying to sell me CS6)... I have Master Collection CS5, and installed it on a new PC running Win8.1. All my Licenses were good and it installed, but now it won't upgrade. I just got done chatting with Adobe and they said that CS5 will not update on windows 8, and I will have problems with it....
Also - Adobe does track how many times a License is being used. They only allow 3 registrations of any license before it will no longer install. You have to make sure you deactivate Adobe on any computer you're not using in order to free up a license. If you computer crashes and you can't deactivate Adobe, you can call them and they will usually add a license (if you've used up all 3 of your licenses) to allow you to reinstall it. (I know, as I have had both happen to me over the years).

Logic won't recognize serial number

I migrated from an iMac running 10.6.8 to a Mac Mini Server running 10.7.1. I used migration assistant.
When I launch Logic (9.1.5) it asks me to register, and when I put in my serial number Logic just crashes and I'm asked if I want to reopen/submit a report, etc..
Any assistance would be greatly appreciated!

Talked to Apple Support today and solved the problem, easily. First off, the tech recommended against using Migration Assistant for any of the Pro apps, and instead doing a clean install. My bad!
Anyhow, after trashing both SysID files in /Library/Application Support/Pro App Support/ (I think that was the path), then relaunching Logic, I was again prompted for my s/n but this time everything worked.

One last note: Migration Assistant didn't pull any of my Logic projects across to the new machine, so I guess I'll be doing some manual file transfers tonight...

First be sure it is a serial number and not a redemption code. The serial number will have 24 digits (no letters) beginning with 1057. If that's not what you have, here's how to use a redemption code to obtain a serial number:

Had CS4 on Power PC Mac (Non Intel) along with prior Photoshop versions. Now I have new iMac and trying to install CS6 but it won't accept my original serial number (Starts with PSW401, etc.).

I know what you are saying. I had purchased the CS5.5 upgrade, and a week later got the CS6 upgrade. I did this back in 2012. I had a old Mac Power PC which does not allow you to install CS5.5 or CS6 because it was not an intel processor. So even though I had the upgrades I never installed them. I waited until my old MAC died which it did this past weekend. And now that I have a new iMac I tried to install the new software. All of my past upgrades referenced my original Photoshop that was still resident on my old Mac. But since the install no longer has that reference because of the new computer, it will not accept any of my past serial numbers that it needs for the install.

Today CS5 does not recognize camera raw files from my Nikon camera. So I tried to update and could not. Clicking the link for customer support took me to a request for my serial number. That seems to be in my system. How should I proceed?

I tried anouther part of the site and was able to get it, am thinking the instructions were just wierd and seemed to say that I should append the two small numbers but I really should just of used the singular 7 digit SN.

Aperture won't accept serial number on new iMac

Got a new iMac and copied over everything from the old G5 and the ONLY application that won't work is Aperture! It asks for the install product serial number - I enter it and it says it's invalid! I've done everything the 'installing professional products' troubleshooting thingy says and it still won't execute. It's frustrating when you have the original serial number and you're the only owner and it's your new machine and you can't get Apple software to work and you have jobs waiting to be done.
Any helpful suggestions besides buying Adobe products instead of Apple's?

Call Apple support, 1-800-SOS-APPL.
On a long term basis for heavy graphics apps users IMO the healthiest approach by far with new boxes is to do clean new installations of applications rather than "migrating."
As to switching to Adobe apps to make transfers easier, I have been using Adobe apps for many years, many upgrades (currently the Premium Design Suite of apps), and over the years I have almost always ended up with call(s) to Adobe Customer Support to make app upgrades work. Copy protection is a pain, Apple or Adobe.

Aperture won't take serial number after transfer to new computer

I used the Migration Assistant to move from an old computer to a new one. Now Aperture asks for a serial number and it won't take the one I have. It's the orginal number that came with the software.

Pro Apps like Aperture don;' take to being installed that way. You'd be best to re-install it from the media you received it on (I'm assuming you didn't get it from the App Store as you mentioned a serial number).
If you don;' have the original media you can download the trial version and use the serial number you have to authorize it.

Won't accept serial number

Order #AD005692008AU: I cannot activate my licence. After the download, it won't open. I tried it by itself. Then I tried through a trial subscription. It won't let me licence the trial edition. Application install damaged. Reinstall won't accept serial number. How can I reinstall?

I purchased Acrobat Pro 6 for Mac in 2004 and over the years, upgraded to 11.0, which I've used successfully until this morning. When I tried to open the app, I got a message saying it was damaged and needs to be reinstalled. I have not changed computers or OS since last week when it was working fine.
To correct the problem, I downloaded the program from the Adobe web site, but it won't accept my serial number to complete installation.

The options depend on your type of query, something which seems designed to frustrate. Adobe support do not answer "how to" (though they should help with troubleshooting, sure). Adobe must know that most people just click wildly rather than spending hours agonising over exactly the right description, and even if they did, the categories are poor.

Can't register ipod b/c won't recognize serial #

I have 4 ipod minis, all of which I bought on ebay and which didn't come with paperwork or software discs. I didn't care cuz I already had itunes. 3 of them registered with no problem. One of them, when I try to register, it says it doesn't recognize the serial number. I've typed it in about 17 times now, and it never works.

Nevermind, the servers for apple must have just been down last night for some reason. Worked this morning.

Trying to REGISTER..won't recognize SERIAL #

I just got the Nano & am trying to set it up. I was trying to register it, but it won't recognize the serial #. I made sure I entered it 'case-sensitive'. After numerous tries, it finally asked me for the "part no." instead. It did recognize that & allowed me to continue. Then I tried to register the extended warranty I purchased, which has to be linked to the specific Nano I bought, but, again, it doesn't recognize the serial #, so I can't continue. Has anyone else had a problem like this??, and, if so, what do I do about it?? HELP!!!!! (...and Thank You)
